Satellite A200 - Installation of Windows Server 2003

Dear Sirs,

Recently, I bought a toshiba Laptop which has Vista Home Premium operating system. In the free space on the hard drive, I intend to install Windows Server 2003. When I insert the CD, the "install Windows Server 2003" is disabled. It does not run the application installation, and as such, I couldn't install this operating system.

I even tried to start the insttallation put the DVD drive as a boot preference. Still it I cannot install the Windows Server 2003 operating system.

Can someone help me in this problem. I wanted to install the Windows Server 2003 next to the Vista operating system.

Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by people with disabilities?

You are not able to boot from the CD?

In these cases, please press the C button immediately after switching on the laptop. This should allow booting from the CD/DVD drive.
Alternatively, you can try to press the F12 key instead of the C key. This should allow the start menu. Then you could choose the STRANGE as boot device and might try to boot from the CD-ROM Server Win.

1 you shouldn't have to download all the drivers for the vHDD, as LSI Logic drivers are included in Windows Server 2003.  In other words, you have not selected correct SCSI (LSI Logic) controller.

Now I get NTLDR is missing, restart the computer.

Make sure that the disk is disconnected.

    Welcome to the community,

Installing on Windows 7 is sometimes delicate. Take a look at http://faq.sanbarrow.com/index.php?solution_id=1113 to verify that your installation is ok or how to fix it in case it is not.

In addition to the installation of VMware Player, I suggest that you install the guest without using "Easy Install".

    Hello

Are you looking for the drivers for Windows Server 2003?
Well, I think you will find all the drivers Win Server 2003 because this drivers don t exist.

Win Server 2003 operating system was designed based on windows XP.
So usually the drivers Win XP should work!

Furthermore, as you are probably aware that the Win Server 2003 operating system is not supported by Toshiba you need to search on sites of third 3rd ATI graphic driver.

Maybe a site www.omegadrivers.net might help you.

But note; 3 third party drivers can be installed ONLY at your own RISK! Why?
Because these drivers have not been tested and so no one can tell if the laptop will run stable and will work properly after installing these drivers.

All you need to do is understand that laptops are not designed for such purposes and because of that there is no support for Server 2003.
All modern operating systems that sense with mobile computing are supported.

    Hello!

I use Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition Release 2 for the test on Toshiba Satellite L300.
On my laptop coolors are strange, not like XP. I tried to fix it manually by changing the setting in the video driver for each color channel but the color is not like in XP.
I think it's a problem whith white point - white is not white exactle or etc. and all the images are brighter.
What can I do to correct colors?

And I have a poblem with cooler is always on while working with source ca, but temperatures of the CPU is normal (~ 46)

Have you noticed that with original preinstalled and supported operating system Vista (factory settings)?

Windows Server 2003 is not supported and I don't know what drivers do you use exactly.
All the drivers for the operating systems supported are tested, but for Windows Server 2003...

However you must search on websites external to the pilots because on the Toshiba site, you won't find a server for laptops drivers.

Here a few examples where you can search:

  • Some keys no longer work on Satellite A200-196 after Windows 7 update

Hi all, I've just upgraded computer laptop of my partner (a Toshiba Satellite A200-196) to Windows 7 after you initially install Windows XP on it (it came with Vista).

After the XP update, I noticed that some keys were not working. I don't remember the process that I used to solve the problem, but the difficulty that I did, and they were all soon works perfectly. So this is a software problem and not material. I think he might have something to do with the FN key - but I can't be sure.

Now, I just upgraded the same machine and I have exactly the same problem. Keys that don't work are Backspace, O, P, F, H, K and L.

Can anyone help please? I tried to reinstall Win7 and the problem is still there.

    Thank you very much

    Andy

    > The keys that don't work are Backspace, O, P, F, H, K and L.

These keys have nothing to do with the missing software.
Indeed, the function key (FN key) needs a Toshiba utility particular installation / software to make it work, but the keys Backspace, O, P, F, H, K and L are common keys on the keyboard that don t need no special software.

That's why I think that the problem is hardware related: simple keyboard malfunction.
I guess that all of these keys work correctly if you sign in and use the external USB keyboard.
