Satellite A200 PSAE3: Windows XP Home edition do not recognize the modem and sound card

Hi all!

I can't understand what is the problem with my Satellite A200 (PSAE3)... I downloaded all the files on the right of the Toshiba Download Center, updated the BIOS to WXP but XP still not find any sound card or any modem. He isn't finding a device with a "?" question mark on this...

There are so many different drives, I tried, but no one has changed the situation...
Anyone has any advice?

Thanks in advance,

ciroopi

Well, I found the solution to the problem! :)

so, I write these verses down for anyone who might know the same problems:

as usual, strictly follow the 'Toshiba A200 Installation sequence' found on the TOshiba driver download page.
as he [I jumped no useful installation programs]

I advice restart you each time you install a component, in order to have under control the whole Exchange.

1 Windows XP Service Pack2 (RTM) - of course ;) -.
[...]
DirectX V9.0c 5 (SP2)
Windows Media Player 10 V10.00.00.4036 6
[...]
10 Microsoft .NET Framework V1.1.4322 (SR1)
11 Sun Java 2 Runtime Environment V1.6.0
12 Intel ICH8M Chipset utility V8.2.0.1014
13 Intel VGA driver 6.14.10.4833 965GM

Note that driver VGA, the ATI we too, was also a difficulty - in fact, I don't know what it would have done - for the AUDIO sound card.
You may have read in the installation dialog box.

Moreover, I do not know if you must install the sun java, .NET framework and WMP version that displays the list, versions that are OLDER than the most recent, but just to be sure, download the form versions THAT NET.

at this point, you should see "unknown PCI device" in the unknown devices in the system control panel.

14 Realtek ALC268 Audio Driver V5.10.0.5433

for realtek, I suggest you download the driver from the zip from the realtek download page; Once extracted from the latest version for desktop or a temp directory, I suggest to install before all the patch KB888111 you might find in the \WDM_Rxxx\MSHDQFE.

then restart.

for now, you should not see the "unknown PCI device" no more where it was before, but under the "system devices", like her, where you could also end the "Intel PCI Express Root Port", "Pci Bus" and so on [ja? m saying this to you because ja? m Italian aid of XP, and I don't remember the exact English names...].

Now, install the audio drivers by using the setup.exe that you find in the \WDM_Rxxx directory.
It should reinstall the kbfix and install the new drivers.

Reset.

After the reboot, nothing happens, but...

.. see the "unknown pci device" menu - here? m not sure the name but the one with the exclamation mark in the 'system devices' - select 'Properties' and then 'driver' and 'update driver'. Let XP find the NOT on the net. tell XP to look for "Video and Audio Controller, game" [you know, the English entry that usually stands for device audio and similar] and he must find a CORRESPONDING driver, which is the "MICROSOFT UAA BUS DRIVER for HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO".
If XP don't select this driver by itself, you should look for "\windows\system32\DRIVERS\hdaudbus.sys".

After that, XP automatically detects ALL audio devices and install the correct drivers.
In addition, it now the entrance to the modem, modem to install the separate driver, that we could find in down in the "list system", like her, on the Toshiba download page.

So, hope this helps!

See you soon,.

  • Windows XP Home Edition do not recognize the validation key

I'm abroad and currently helping an exchange student colleagues with his laptop before riddled of virus. To know that she was about 6 years without a reinstallation of the machine running, I went ahead and did. Since then, I was unable to activate their copy of Windows XP Home Edition (receive the incorrect product key error) despite the verification on his Toshiba Satellite A105-S361 code. What would be my next step to get this posted thing?

License types must match.  Chances are that the license code on the Toshiba is an OEM license key.  It validates that if Windows XP has been installed from an OEM Windows XP Edition Setup disk family.  If you tried to install Windows by using an XP retail installation disk, types of licenses will not match, and you will get an error similar to the one you describe.  At this point, if you do not have a Toshiba Windows Installer disk or if there is not a recovery partition still on the hard drive (accessible by pressing a button as soon as the monitor is active), you will need to contact Toshiba for more help/support.

  • Satellite C660-108 - Windows XP Home Edition does not install

I try to install Windows XP Home Edition on a Toshiba Satellite C660-108, without success.

I changed the BIOS disk in "Compatibility" mode (what is the same thing as "Legacy IDE"?) by following the instructions on a Yahoo Answers question on the same issue.

What has improved the situation, in what I now get an error message a few minutes after installing XP said "Starting Windows" instead of immediately after. The error message is the same that I have already received and is as follows:

"A problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer...". "Technical information: * STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78D663C, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000).

PS - I'm a mac user and do not have much experience in the use of Windows laptops, so I need instructions spelled out clearly enough if possible.

The error could be related to drive HARD and the setting in the BIOS of the controller...
Probably, you need to install Win XP using SATA AHCI mode and to add the driver SATA as described here:

I have a Qosmio G20/390LS bought a year ago, when I worked at the Japan, I tried to upgrade the hard drive with a new HD 100 GB Hitachi SATA but I faced a problem that XP does not recognize the HD.
For your reference, the Bios sees the new HD, when I install the XP operating system I load the driver downloaded from the Toshiba Web site but no way RAID with F6... XP does not recognize the HD.

Do you have any idea how to fix?
    Thank you

    Hello

Computers portable Japanese are unknown to me, but if this laptop comes with two hard drives and RAID option do not forget the good option is set in the BIOS. Without the right BIOS setting you will not be able to install the OS.

On Qosmio G30, I was able to install Vista when for two HDD HARD drive settings were 0-RAID-1. Check it please and let us know.

  • I am running Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 (build) 2600 and have a lot of problems.

    Hi all

I am running Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 (build) 2600 and have loads and loads of problems. Windows keeps hung and everything I tried didn't seem to help.
I brought this second hand from a company computer, I used to work and I don't have the original installation cd or rescue disk. I meet a lot of problems and everything takes forever to load and work. I was advised to run maleware, spyware, antivirus and defrag on the computer analyses and I did all that and nothing works. Also, when I tried to run the system restore it wouldn't let me, and when I try to run the scan disk after a reboot it does not work. As a last effort, I tried running SFC and it looked as if it was working, but then it asked me for the initial startup disk, that I don't have. so I tried to cancel it, but now every time that I reboot/restart my computer load SFC and I have to start the entire process. Also, none of my cd drives work. Please help me
Also, I'm now a message that says minimum virtual memory is very low.
I would be very grateful for any help or advice anyone can offer us on these issues. a million thanks in advance.

    Hello

1 how long have you been faced with this problem?
    2. don't you make changes on the computer before this problem?
    3. what exactly happens when you try to run the scan disk or system restore? You receive an error message? If yes then after return the exact error message.

No software XP, Microsoft no longer offers that you will need to make arrangements for windows XP windows installation CD. You can check the question in the clean boot state.

From your computer by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine if a background program is interfering with your game or program. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot".

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
    1. click on start and then click Run.
    2. type msconfig and click OK.

The System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

    3. click on the tab general, click Normal Startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.
    4. When prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.

    Hello

The easiest way is with a crossover cable - a special wire to connect the two systems.
You can get one at your local computer store - they are not expensive.

Also check with the site of the manufacturer of your router, because they will have in-depth details on how to
    set up the network.

  • Windows 7 Starter Edition does not recognize a hard drive WD

Windows 7 Starter Edition does not recognize a hard drive WD, I used until last month. Device Manager sees it, he sees the USB controller (it lists as a mass storage device), but I can't access the information on the hard disk, or make use of the last backup. I tried to uninstall USB drives - it is not the thing. It gets listed under disk drives.

    Thanks for the reply.

There was no error message: the device has been recognized (listed) by the USB controller and the Device Manager, but not by the management of the disks - so I couldn't access.

I managed to fix the problem after:

-J' scanned the computer (DELL Inspiron) with the Safety Scanner
-J' completely uninstalled all the software associated with an external hard drive
    -J' uninstalled the USB controllers
    -reboot the system
    -reconnected the external HD
-After gaining access to the drive, I installed the dedicated software

    Best regards

I downloaded all the drivers XP Toshibas and all seem to work except the sound. I've been following discussions about this anywhere and try some of the suggestions that end up being for a slightly different model, but nothing will do.

In this case, you are probably using the wrong type of disc.

You MUST use an OEM disc with an OEM key in WIndows XP

You MUST use a disk of Windows XP Home Edition with a WIndows XP Home Key

  • Windows XP Home Edition has lost drive of installation and CD Key - cannot repair windows (damaged WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM file)

    Thanks for the help!

Have you tried 'XP No Boot troubleshooting steps' sticky post at the top of this forum?

As this issues happens several times a day and your system falls into any category to start, why not start there and see if that helps?

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes pulling and buttons power)

These can cause corruption in the file system that must be fixed before you do anything else.

If none of these events occurred (or even if they have not taken place), you must verify the integrity of your file system before anything else (especially "try" things).

There is zero logic to start try to copy files to a hard drive with a corrupted file system so it must first be fixed using the XP chkdsk program and setting that may solve your problem completely, but you must start there.

Use the XP Recovery Console to check the file system on your HARD drive and fix the problems and then try to start your system - this may be all you need to do.  Or, you are welcome to just start trying things that might work.

Start the Recovery Console Windows using an XP bootable installation CD or create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console.

This is not the same as recovery disks that may have come to a store to purchase the system.  If you don't know what kind of bootable CD, you, do a CD of bootable XP Recovery Console and do not forget.

You can create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console when no XP CD is available by following the instructions in this link:

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic276527.html

After booting into the Recovery Console, you should be in this folder:

    C:\WINDOWS

For each of your hard disk partitions, you must then run:

    Chkdsk /r

For example, at the Recovery Console prompt, enter:

    CHKDSK c: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.  It may take a long time to complete or seem to be 'glued '.  Be patient.  If the HARD drive light flashes, it's something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

The chkdsk/r must be completed without error, you may need to run several times until it does.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.
