Satellite A200 PSE3E stops after the connection

Hello

Very often, when I restart my laptop and after typing my password user, the screen goes black and the system stops the loading of windows.
I can access the Task Manager by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Delete, but I can't make it go.
And then, without doing anything, if I restart (once a day, sometimes two or three times), it works again.

It's very strange.

I read that I should update the BIOS and the video card, but the problem is not solved yet. What can I do?

Greetings

Yes, it's very strange.

Did you do a restore with the recovery disk? It could also be that a problem with Windows and a reinstall would solve this problem.

Otherwise, I have no more idea because you did an update of the BIOS.

  • Satellite A200 (PSAE0C-AH308C) - after the BIOS black screen update

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite (model No. A200; Part No. PSAE0C - AH308C) and to install Windows XP on a version already corrupted Vista (which had 4 partitions, that have been corrected, erased, then reformatted in a solid block). Now, I have installed all the appropriate drivers off Toshiba Canada support site...

Everything worked, but I wanted to see in Windows (since I just got this computer) if everything was in place and working normally until I installed Ubuntu... Then I did the update to the BIOS flash. The program is supported in two formats, one for Vista and one for XP... for XP has a more high at 5.20 and Vista BIOS version the 1.80 revision of BIOS... that are marked as being updated by the Toshiba site. I opted to download the latest version of the BIOS.

Things got ugly as soon as I unzipped the self-extracting program. First of all he said he could not find a .dll file (even if it is clear from there), so that seemed as if it started to Flash the BIOS but has not finished (it was just what happened when I opened the program)... I think he got to the ROM of compensation but did not have any code in there... Windows attempted to close the program because he did not respond, and I tried to take the program... had the same .dll error, but this time, the screen of the program was just gray...

Given that this program is not Flash the BIOS unless the user selects the button "Flash BIOS", I have reason to believe that it was a bug in the program, or a combination of it and Windows comes to interfere (no program were running at the time, while he was supposed to be a dedicated flash). I can only flash in the Win.

Now, I rebooted the computer, twice... the screen turns black, the HARD disc spins, the DVD drive has done his usual clicking sound when the computer starts, but it seems to stop as there is no BIOS entact.

Can I replace the BIOS chip? There is no way for me to access the BIOS at all.

Thanks for any help on this

    Hello

Unfortunately, the BIOS update has failed and now BIOS is damaged. For this reason, you cannot start and use your laptop. I agree with Luke. Please contact nearest Toshiba authorized maintainer and ask for help. Talk with them and I am sure that you will find the best solution to this problem.

Satellite A200 is quite long on the market and it is hard to believe that updating the BIOS on the Canadian page may have a bug. All updates are tested and used by millions of users and service providers. If there is something wrong, I do not believe that this update will be available on the page of public support.

In any case, contact the nearest service provider and explain the situation. Believe me this is the best thing you can do now.

    Good luck!

  • Computers stops after the connection to the server

    Hello geniuses.

I'm having a strange problem and I know it won't be easy to diagnose, but let's give it a shot.  I have two iMacs in my studio, a 4 k and a 5 k, with El Capitan 10.11.2 and both connected to an ethernet network and talk to a server on a Mac Mini (latest OS and OS X Server).

I mention the server, because I think it may be interesting, but that's just a guess.

Basically both of these computers have a strange inability to stop.  You choose stop and they go through the motions all the way to the black screen with the toothed wheel turn, and then it just lingers there.  Forever.  Well, at least 24 hours because it is the longest, that it went unnoticed at the time.  Usually, I wait a few minutes and then make a stop of the force.  (I wait a few minutes because sometimes, not often, but sometimes, the computers will be correctly closed.)

Both machines are wired on the server and use frequently shared fire (SMB and AFP) to load files on networked drives.  Yet once again, I mention this because this is the common point between these machines that seems to be the exception to a common use, and I wonder if the connection to the server is the process that prevents computers from closing properly.

If anyone can help point me in the right direction would be great.

    Thank you!

Well I guess this problem is unique to me, however, if someone else liquidate the same problem, I think I have it solved.  I changed the file sharing preferences to just AFP (disabled SMB).  This seems to have solved a variety of issues that I had with my network, including iMacs hanging on closing down.

Now when I start the computer, enter a subject message to repair but need a querty for click.

    Thank you

Not sure if I understood, but it looks like you have some problems with the internal keyboard. Right?
You are able to use the external USB keyboard?
If you can use the external keyboard, then the internal keyboard is defective and must be replaced.

  • Re: Satellite Pro A200 - black screen after the BIOS screen

    Hello
I'm new to the forum and have a big problem. So, any help is welcome and appreciated.

My Satellite Pro A200 turns black after the BIOS screen and a black screen with a blinking cursor. Also just as the screen goes black a beep can be heard which shows windows boot.
I can access the toshiba Setup screen but not the installation of security mode.

    Kind regards

    Hello

You wrote that you can access the BIOS, but have you checked if the HARD drive is recognized properly? Perhaps because the computer cannot start HDD isn't recognized then you should check this.

If the HARD drive is recognized, I would try a Toshiba Recovery disk recovery facility. It seems that Windows isn't able to start and if you reinstall the whole system should help get rid me of this. Go to the start menu and select the CD/DVD drive as a boot device.

    Check this box!

  • T42 - stop and restart after the connection

My T42, running on Windows XP, suddenly stops right after the connection and while the hotkeys on the loading screen.

A message in white letters on a blue screen starts like this:

"A problem has been detected and windows has been suthdown to prvent from damage to your computer.

    IRQL_NOT_LES_OR_EQUAL

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. "If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

And the product message points to check any new hardware or software installation. I have not recently installed a software or hardware, so I'm a little lost on how to proceed from here.

No clue on what could be the problem or any recommendation, short doing a full recovery from a recent backup?

Any help will be much appreciated. Thenks.

    = UPDATE =.

After running a few tests using the blue Access IBM button and PC Doctor 2.0 running, memory tests have shown the following results:

Fast memory - all sockets - failed

    Fast memory - Support 1 - spent

    Fast memory - take 2 - failed

This seems to indicate that one of the two memory is faulty. This hypothesis is correct?

If so, what should be the next step? My laptop is out of warranty. I should bring it to a repair shop, or could I order the replacement and install it myself easily?

I am not versed in repairs to equipment and feel a bit discouraged to start to mess with storage media...

    Any advice, please?

    Thank you

It is probably a faulty stick of RAM in the second location rather than the power socket. Best bet is to remove the module RAM then see how it goes.

Second is really easy to access. It is under the laptop - there is a small door in the middle of the base set with a single screw. Remove the screws and remove the door to expose the RAM module. Pull the wire staples on the outside of the restraint SODIMM socket and the RAM module should appear and then remove. Replace the cover and try the laptop again.

IF you must replace the T42 uses to off the shelf of a DDR SO-DIMM, PC2700 speed RAM - needs. Will take up to a 1 GB module in each socket. First is harder to do because he must remove the keyboard to get home. It is only 4 screws but can be a bit tedious for a novice.

  • New Satellite A200 is restarted after installing XP

    Hi all

I hope someone can help with this problem.
I have a new Satellite A200 and made in the wake of the SP2 and matrix storage drivers.
I completely deleted all partitions on the disk and installed XP (slipstreamed version).
All going well until the first reboot and then it restarts just over and over again.
If I have safe mode of choice it loads correctly and I can't install drivers etc.
I wonder if it is a BIOS issue?
I tried to update using windows bios update for XP and it will not allow in safe mode.
The reboot happens before even starting XP screen appears, hard drive blinks twice, then it power cycles.
I hope that I'm not the first to encounter this problem.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

Mhhh very strange to me, it looks like a software problem!
In Windows XP, the default setting is for the computer to automatically reboot when a fatal error occurs. If this fatal error only occurs when you stop, the system reboots automatically.

Have you noticed the same course the Vista OS?

What you could do is to install the Vista from the recovery CD again, and then update the BIOS to the XP version.
After this procedure install the XP with all the service packs and the compatible Intel matrix Storage Manager

    Hey,.

For me, the matter is clear: the battery can't hold a charge so the laptop will be shut down because it has no power.

I think you need to replace the battery with a new one and you can get a provider of service authorized in your country. Simply contact the guy and ask that they can tell you how much it would cost.

A fix may be available in one of the next versions of Skype. In the meantime, the solution is to uninstall version 7.0 and install the 6.21.0.104 previous version.
