  Believe me, there is always a reason why this happens. From your description, I assume that your unit is overheating. If the temperature is too high the unit simply stops.

  Try this procedure:

  Disconnect the PC and open it. Clean all the dust. Carefully, remove and replace all the cables towards the mother board one at a time.   The model Satellite A200 - 1 GB (PSAE6E) worked perfectly for two years now (with Vista 32-bit).

  I doubt that it could be a hardware error (my personal opinion) but nothing is impossible, that you know

  If you are not able to boot the operating system even by using a safe mode then a new install of the OS would be the last chance to get this sort problem

  I think you should try a new installation to see if this could be a hardware problem because there is a small remnant of risk that this could be a hardware problem
