Satellite A200 - screen turns off without reason

I have a Satellite A200-E530D on Windows Vista Home Premium. For a month, I had something strange happening on my computer, shortly after the start, the screen turns off. without good reason! the only option I have is hard to system boot and everythings... Although a few times after the restart he still went.

I tried to upgrade to the last poster of drivers (I have an Nvidia Geforce Graphics card 7300 Go with 128 MB of VRAM)

Another weird thing, Vista SP1 does not install on my machine. tried to uninstall my Anti virus, but that did not help either one.

Can anyone shed light on my dark screen?

Hello!

You have the same problem on an external monitor?
I m not sure if it s a display problem, mother or software card

Do you have what display driver installed? You have downloaded the driver from the Web from Toshiba site?

    Hello

Here you can compare the version of the BIOS installed on the laptop with the one published on the page of the Toshiba driver.
If you use the older BIOS, you can try to update. Maybe the update will sort this strange behavior.

But there could also be a hardware malfunction if the BIOS update does not help.

    Hello

I have a pro a100, which I think is overheating.

It works for about 30 minutes then goes of and returns to the initial boot up screen "Toshiba" ect, tires to start then repetition of the foregoing.

I blew the fan making dust and the air outlet and this has improved things, now works for about 90 minutes.

I want to take the base off to clean properly but cannot find a service manual to tell me what screw screw.
Anyone here a repair for this laptop, if yes would you be willing to email me a copy.

    > I blew the fan making dust and the air outlet and this has improved things, now works for about 90 minutes.

So, I think that the laptop is affected by the higher temperature.

Clean the fans inside the laptop and assigning the new thermal grease might help.

Also, it become very hot when it shuts and only restarts after a while. the fan is clean and seems to run but it's quieter than usual.

It turns out that it was overheating, and the main problems was that the bearings on the fan was used, I just had to replace the fan.

  • Satellite P840 screen turns off

The screen of my laptop turns off without warning when I browse the internet or interact with any program. When he arrives, the power button is still on and I could still hear the sounds of the programs that I used or the buttons on the front lock screen has produced.

Sometimes I get a BSOD. Also, before that happens often, I notice that my laptop freezes before he died. The only course of action open to me is to force my laptop shut down. However, I am worried if this would happen in a critical situation like an update.

Initially, I would say that it would be interesting to know what Satellite P do you have exactly and what operating system you use.
Problem described is quite strange, and it is not easy to understand what happens exactly and why.

Since when did you notice this?

I put t know what to do, but in my opinion you should backup all your data, reinstall the OS using HARD drive recovery option and after doing this, you will clean preinstalled OS and this shouldn't happen again. Of course, this is a more radical but certainly more effective method.

    What do you think?

Please help as I had only the laptop to 18 months now and she probably shouldn't t do it suits it?

    Hello

I think you're already on the right track. 18 months is a long period of collecting dust so it could just be overheating. Check the intakes for the dust.
I've seen suggestions to use a vacuum cleaner to suck up dust from the mouths of - I would not recommend myself because there is a chance that the fan may be damaged, but it could be a way for you.

    Good luck

  • Equium A200 - screen turns off

Hi, I'm having a problem with my Toshiba laptop, the screen turns off randomly and the computer still seems to work, but when I use a VGA cable to connect to a TV it does not display anything.

Here are pictures of when it fires
http://Tinypic.com/r/vr9d7d/7 yellow on the disc tray is turned on
http://Tinypic.com/r/2d9poya/7 that the front turned on lights and computer sounds like its operation.

This led me to believe it's a hardware problem, but when I turn on the computer in Mode safe it never turns off. I also got the fixed ups this year because the screen was losing power.

Can anyone help I can't really afford a new laptop at the moment

    Hi David,

It's a little confusing, it doesn't always happen when you shut down the computer, or just sometimes?
What do you do to get rid of this? Always remove the battery and the AC adapter or what exactly?

I think that it s a hardware malfunction, usually has nothing to do with the software. What you can try is a BIOS update from the official website of Toshiba.

  • Satellite A200 just turns off

I have a satellite A200 that keeps turning off...

first of all, it wouldn't start up, so removed the battery and plugged directly to AC and then it started again.

Now, he just stops... It seems to be not too hot...

What are the problems and solutions...

Computer is 19 months old and it's very frustrating...

    Hello

In most cases, the blocked cooling modules are the reason for the higher temperature and why the laptop turns off automatically.
You could clean the vents and cooling fans with a jet of compressed air.
This would remove the dust inside the laptop.

  • Satellite A200 keeps turning off

    Hi people.
I too have a satellite A200. It is about 2 years old and keeps the decommissioning. Sometimes it turns off if physically moved - for example from a tower in a table. Sometimes it connects again once you put it in hibernation/standby mode by quickly pressing the power button. When I try and start it again in another quick, press the power button, nothing happens about half the time. In this situation when the laptop is in mode 'sleep' the only way to switch is again by removing the battery and then start again. Then it comes up with an error message about an improper closing of windows, giving you the possibility of opening in Mode safe. You lose nothing as you work, so it's a real pain.

It disappeared twice for repair, but they can't find the problem so I did a Google search and found this forum. It would be good to know more than all expertise - especially to Toshiba.

If the laptop turns off automatically, then this can be linked to a higher temperature in most cases but not always, this is the reason.
Dust or debris clogged the ventilation openings, which leads to a higher temperature.

In addition, the dry thermal grease which is placed between the CPU and the cooling module can be that the reason for this in such a case, the thermal paste should be renewed

It's certainly a job for a technician for laptop

  • Satellite M200 screen turns off after that start & battery does not charge

Hello, I am from Jakarta, Indonesia
I have a problem with my Toshiba Satellite M200 Notebook (running Windows 7 Home Premium)

After I press the power button to the top of my laptop, it works fine display BIOS and Windows startup screen.
but after that my monitor off all of a sudden when Windows is supposed to show the login screen.

    Sometimes, the monitor doesn't turn off, but shows a lower resolution (I don't know exactly what resolution, 1024 x 768 or 800 x 600, i use maybe 1280 x 800)
so the only thing I can do is, press the power button to stop bad then press power again turns on, my monitor works normally
try to stop and then turn on again in a few hours later, problems still comes once.

from the moment where I install Windows 7, I use 8.15.10.1930 version of the driver (downloaded from Download Center of Intel, which included Assistant TV Intel)
2 days ago, my friend told me that I should install the driver from the Toshiba site support, so I went to csd.toshiba.com and download the 8.15.10.1825 version of this site (which is not included Assistant TV Intel)

my monitor works normally after I installed the driver I of csd.toshiba.com, so I think that the problem because the Intel TV Wizard somehow messed with my laptop. But this morning this problem once again, my turns just monitor suddenly...

In addition, this problem seems to be my battery was unable to recharge, my completely reloaded Windows shows, but when I plugged my AC adapter,
There are 15-20 minutes before my laptop turns off automatically

Three months ago, I just brought my laptop to the local Service Center of Toshiba and bought the new motherboard to replace my old mobo (which have a VGA problem too!)
Is there something I can do (related to Windows or driver/software) or I can bring my notebook at the center of service again?
are they somehow an incorrect wiring when replacing my motherboard?
and am I need to replace my battery too?

I use this laptop for about a year and a half and there is nothing wrong with my battery before replacing the motherboard

any help would be appreciated :D

    Hello

Talk about your screen, the a graphics driver causes this malfunction with resolution and turn off. Go to the page of the toshiba driver and download the correct Vga driver for your model. I see, you are running Windows 7, if there is no driver for win7, try the vista driver.
On your power supply, you have used for the year and a half and he is released in 20 minutes, there is nothing strange. It's standard for power supply operating period, need to be replaced. Just to be sure, you can check with a new battery. You will see that the trick works as expected.

  • R61 turns off without reason

    Hello Lenovo community,

I am writing, because I noticed a weird behavior of my ThinkPad R61 for 3 weeks.

To be more precise, it's my ThinkPad R61 8918 DEG, I bought 12 months ago.

I'm on Windows Vista Professional (with Service Pack 2) top.

Windows Update and ThinkVantage System Update run twice a week.

If Windows, all the drivers and the Lenovo Applications are up to date.

Okay, enough about the specifications and back to my problem.

First time I saw the error I wasn't really noticing, since I wasn't on the laptop

When he arrived. I have just returned to it and saw that it has been disabled.

For 2 weeks, this error will occur on a random basis without any reason, that I have met:

    (1) computer laptop LCD goes black - laptop is not out yet (I let him play music in the background to make sure that.) The music continued to play)

    (2) music stops and continues to play again (as when the system is under a heavy load)

    (3) music finally stops

    (4) computer laptop LCD is to stay off and the laptop is simply turn off.

So far I don't check for possible hardware problems.

I did a complete reinstall of Windows Vista and just had a complete PC-Doctor 5 for Windows check running which showed no problems.

For the next Checkup, I'll have a true memtest - the bootcd is right next to me already.

Though I doubt it will give any other result.

The fan is not a strike, but I'm having a temperature/voltage /-fan speed check every 20 minutes for a day, to see if that might show any possible suspicion running.

After all, I thought that maybe someone here has an idea of what my problem might be subject.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite M40x-250 turns off without warning

    HII everyone,

Hope you guys can help me. I have an old Toshiba Notebook (Satellite M40x-250).

I don't know how old exactly, but I think around 4 or 5 years. Ive never had any problem with it, but now its weird action. Recently, I was typing something and suddenly it just turned itself off.

I waited about five minutes before I restarted and it worked perfectly again.
Same thing just happened half an hour ago.

Now his works once again, with no loss of information.
My laptop is just getting old, or would be - this other problem that could be solved?

    Thank you!

    Hello

In my eyes it s typical overheating problem
As you say it s a laptop plus age (4 to 5 years) and I suppose that the cooling fans have not been cleaned since the first day
I think that there is a lot of dust and debris that prevents the cooling modules to work with maximum efficiency, this can lead to a higher temperature and shut downs.

The laptop turns off automatically to prevent the equipment from damage
Clean the fan using a jet of compressed air! In from time to time, and it helps!

    Welcome them

  • Re: Satellite L300 - screen turn off when it will be moved

I have a problem with my screen stopping when I move my laptop or move the screen slightly. The computer does not turn off just the screen becomes black. I have to then hold the power button to turn off the computer.

Does anyone has any ideas or had this problem?

    Hi Geg,

You may notice this behavior on external monitor too?

For me, this looks like a hardware malfunction caused by internal display or just the cable. You should ask a technician for laptop help.

If only the cable must be replaced cheap s and takes a few minutes a technician for laptop.
