Satellite A200 shows weird coloured horizontal lines

These multicolored horizontal lines with different lengths appear on my laptop.
Soon they jump all over the place, and then the screen turns off. I get the blue screen saying something went wrong and restart my computer... I don't know what the heck is wrong... any suggestions?

Thank you

Are these lines shown all the time or when OS is loaded only?

  • Satellite P200D-139 screen with horizontal lines

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite P200D-139 and the screen no longer works.
It turns on but the screen is made up of vertical lines, which slowly fade into a black screen.

I tried on an external monitor and it worked fine, (so probably cannot be a defective/motherboard graphics card). So, I thought that it was likely to be the inverter or the screen itself.
After trying a new inverter without success, I bought another second hand screen.

However, the new screen is exactly the same problem with horizontal lines display.
Sometimes, I catch a partial glimpse of a Vista screensaver for a fraction of a second, but then back to black. I m not a technophobe, so any info would be much appreciated.

Please help, as he leads me into the wall!

    > I tried on an external monitor and it worked fine, (so probably cannot be a defective/motherboard graphics card). So, I thought that it was likely to be the inverter or the screen itself.

Right. I think that the problem is related to the display

    > However, the new screen has exactly the same problem with horizontal lines display.
Well, it might be possible that the second screen is faulty, too that if you bought this as part of the second hand then it might be possible that you bought a screen that is not working properly.

What to say; It of difficult to say what you should do next. Buy a new screen and check it again? Well, I think that I would visit the next computer repair store and ask for verification of the display.
I think it's the best solution in your case

  • Satellite A200 - 10 X - the white lines on the screen

    Hey

I have a problem with my laptop, it's a Satellite A200-10 X, with Vista Home Premium and in recent weeks, my monitor has taken a turn for the worse.
Well, there are these white lines from one side to the other, at the bottom of the screen and they keep up... rampant thanks to that O had to change my taskbar to the top as well.

There, anyone have any idea what this is, and how it can be removed?

I'm not a person tech-savy but I use my computer a lot for general purposes and I'm in the middle of a crisis, so if anyone can help, I'd be really grateful.

    Hello

Have you plugged an external monitor to the laptop?
I ask this question because at the moment it is not easy to tell if the monitor internal or the graphics card is causing this problem.

If you can see the same question on an external monitor, it s the graphics card. If this isn't the case, you need to replace the internal display.

An authorized service provider can help you get new spare parts and they can replace it for you.

    Good bye

  • Horizontal lines on the movement of people

Imported video in vob format 16mm conversion (properties 25.00 fps, image 520 x 576).  When I enlarge chassis in preview quality is excellent.  When I discovered Flash flv or export of the frame (see photo), image degrades and shows that the horizontal lines appear on the edge of moving objects/persons.  Some executives look good, but most are unusable.  If anyone has seen this problem?

Your question seems to be a matter of Premiere Elements and it has a separate instance

    http://forums.Adobe.com/community/premiere/premiere_elements

It will be a better place to ask this question. When you post I recommend that you include

-a description of the process used for the conversion of video to 16mm (hardware and software)

-the setting of the project that you used within Premiere Elements and what version of PE

This will give participants to the Premiere Elements forum more information to begin to discuss your problem.

    Hello

This line is presented permanently and you already tried to connect your computer to an external display to check if you have the same problem on it?
If Yes, you have a serious problem and it cannot be hollow fixed an update of the BIOS, or something. You should immediately contact an ASP in local,
and they will do a hardwarecheckup and a repair on your machine. If you need a link, here´s a global Locator ASP, where you can find near the ASP in your country:

    Hello

These lines on the screen indicate graphics card problem.
Try testing with external monitor? If the same image that you will certainly know the graphics card is defective.

Anyway, these two questions are for me serious enough and best thing you can do is to contact the nearest Toshiba authorized maintainer.

  • Satellite A200 suddenly stops showing anything on display

    Hello
I have been using Satellite A200 for 2 years and it works very well. Recently, I have problems.
When I use it all of a sudden it stops to show anything on the display but the power to the front lights are still on.

This problem occurs often. If the motherboard is fried or there is overheating. I gave my laptop for repairs and they said that they had repaired the system board and cleaned the fan.
But the problem still occurred. If anyone can help me I will be very grateful.

If the service cannot help I don't know what kind of help you wait here.
That's the big difference to discuss on a topic if you have laptops in front of you, or on this way where we can only imagine what the problem may be.

It's really not easy to say why this happens, but there may be a problem with the display cable.
This happens to you while you work or after display goes OFF mode (set in the power settings)?

Hmm, that's really not easy to explain simply. This occurs when you use Windows Picture Viewer?

  • Satellite L830 - horizontal line across the screen

All new Satellite L830 has a horizontal line across the screen.

What can be the cause and how can be fixed?

If the laptop is brand new it back as soon as possible and ask for replacement.
On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here, but it may be related to faulty display, especially if you can see from the first moments when the laptop is turned on.

Don't try anything. Request a new one. If you can not new, contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. They need to exchange the defective part.

  • Satellite Pro M10 - horizontal lines on the screen in different areas

    Hi all

    I hope someone can help.
My Satellite Pro M10 seems to suffer a display problem where I have horizontal lines on the screen in different areas.
It would be well for 10 minutes and when the laptop seems to warm up this problem begins, then shortly after
The laptop would crash and enter in a resolution of 800 x 600 16 colors or sometimes freeze.

Graphic drivers have been resettled, and even a new installation of Windows XP from the recovery CD does not help.
A reboot doesn't solve what the same thing happens again and after one minute of use, so I thought it might be a video or cooling problem.
I changed the video card I had a spare part of my last motherboard hoping this would solve the problems, but the problem persists.
Perhaps a cooling problem? Or problems of motherboard?
The motherboard has been replaced twice, hoping that this isn't another mobo problem.

    Any advice would be great.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I m not 100% sure but to me it looks a bit like an overheating problem
Maybe the graphics card may not be properly cooled after a certain period of time and that's why these strange horizontal lines appear on the screen.

I wonder how you were able to replace the graphics chip on the motherboard?  :|
If I m not wrong not the chip is fixed and the replacement is very easy and difficult

It of always difficult to say what's maybe wrong without running several diagnostic tests in most cases this problem may be related to the defective chip or motherboard and so the following should be checked

Sorry, but that's all I can suggest.

    Best regards from my friend

  • Satellite A200 - 23Q - screen does not show anything

I am user and owner of a Satellite A200 - 23Q. The last few days, my laptop appears a certain problem. Its kinda does not. When I press the power button / stop, screens appears nothing, not even loading BIOS or something, even if the hard drive and power satellite (bottom left) turns on. Well, someone could say it is a screen problem, but this thing does not happen always, sometimes its working normally.

I'm waiting for a response as soon as possible. Thank you

P.S. This is my 1st post, so please see the patience and apologize for my weak English level

    Hi fotakis,.

Which is easy enough to say what, exactly, is the problem: just connect an external monitor. :)

If you see a photo on this subject, it seems to be only a problem of internal monitor. Maybe the FL inverter needs to be replaced
But I think that in both cases (also when the external monitor shows nothing) you need professional assistance from an authorized service provider.

The ASP can solve this problem!

  • New RAM on Satellite A200 - 1 M 5 shows only 3 GB

    Hello

    My machine Satellite A200 - 1 M 5 has 1 GB of RAM initially (2 x 512).

I've now updated to 4 GB (2 x 2 GB). However, the BIOS and the operating system (Windows Vista) showed only 3 GB.

I've updated the BIOS, and now even if the BIOS shows 4 GB, Windows Vista shows 3 GB.

Is there a solution for this?

I tried to attach a stick at a time and they are both displayed in the form of 2 GB.

    Thank you

    Zubair

I can just confirm that. It is certainly caused by OS Vista 32-bit. Using the version 64-bit 4 GB will be recognized without any problems.

  • Satellite P845-Canada-10J - HDMI to TV - horizontal lines from top to bottom

During video playback through HDMI to my TV, I get horizontal lines from top to bottom.

I tried to change the refresh rate, change the cables, evolution of videos of different ports and video and all players the same. I have a Hannspree 32 inch 1080 p which supports 50 Hz and 60 Hz.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

and are not the same visible lines on another screen or internal monitor?
Laptop Satellite P845-Canada-10J seems to also support the RGB (VGA) port you could try connecting the monitor to this port just to check if the same lines are visible using another video interface

  • Shows HP LaserJet 3330 horizontal lines exactly each 1.5 "when you print a completely blank page

HP LaserJet 3330 shows seven or eight approximately 3.5 "cloudy horizontal lines spaced exactly each 1.5" even when you print a completely white page. This also happens when copy and fax.

There are also 2 very thin vertical lines running down the entire page about in the middle. They are exactly 1 "apart.

However, a scan of a blank page on my computer (not printed) is perfectly clean.

Windows 7. No change or upgrade.

Propbably the toner cartridge, if they are 1.48 "apart that it could be the cylinder in the process of development or the charge roll who are both in the toner cartridge. So a good assumption if you replace the toner cartridge, the problem will disappear. Vertical lines could also be part of this issue.
