Satellite A205 unbootable after Pixela ImageMixer 3 installed

Help!

I got my Satellite (A205 S5804) for a year and a half, and it's been great... until last night. I bought a Canon camcorder and went to install the Pixela ImageMixer 3. After following the instructions in the installation screen it recommended to do a reboot. The pc off and then restarted in this spiral without end of "diagnostics of system recovery. I ran the utility, and it can correct itself (I think something in the registry may have got damaged/overwritten during installation?). Safe mode does not work. Nothing works.

I can get a DOS prompt, which takes me to the "X:\~~~" and I don't know what the player 'X' is supposed to represent. Now I curse me not to do a system recovery disk. I have files I want to try to get off there before I do something drastic like a complete reformat of HD.

Can I do to bypass this system recovery loop? I'll have to reformat and start over?

Hello!

It is really hard to tell if the Pixela ImageMixer or not. It could be also a virus or something else.

In any case, for the moment, it seems you have to recovery of the laptop using the Toshiba recovery disc or HARD drive recovery option.
If you don t have the Toshiba Recovery disk, you can get one from an authorized service I think. You must therefore contact the ASP and ask for it.

If you want to save your files on the HARD disk, you must put the HARD drive into an external HARD drive enclosure. You can then save it on another computer or laptop.

Good bye

    Hello

And it does n average boot t?
You get an error message? The laptop freezes on start up? Do you get a BSOD?

I put t know how you can solve this problem, but can you go into the advanced boot menu? You can start in safe mode?

In my opinion Microsoft installation synchronization destroyed something in Windows and in the worst case, reinstall the whole OS.

  • Satellite A205 freeze after the power connection

My computer has this strange problem. It stops completely after that I have plug in the power supply.
What I do now, it is let it recharge when it is off and use it without food.

There is a chance that it works with the power connected, but generally, it stops again in the trunk.
If the battery is low and I connect the power usually, it stops right after that I do, sometimes not.

I also tried to install Linux. But the same thing happens (except by the fact Linux only stops in the trunk)
    I'm now using Windows Vista.

Thanks for the time and sorry for the English.

    > any suspicion?
As suggested above; It looks like an electrical problem on the motherboard power supply. Maybe the motherboard must be changed.

  • Problems with Satellite A205-S4777 after saving files

Hi, I made a backup file for the first time. And I burned two CD. Then after my backup files were burning, my laptop is slow all of a sudden.

Everything would not respond. I open and go on the internet and he would not answer. programs have started up and then freeze it.
I know it's not the hardware, but maybe the software. What do you think the guy is? Or what should I do? Should I reinstall everything as the recovery and the Applications CD?
My laptop does that from time to time very well. Sometimes, when I start my laptop, then I'll wait a while, then connect to the internet, then go on the net, so some of my programs would freeze or my internet explore would freeze and say it does not and so on with other programs.
I know that I don't have a virus or a worm, because I already ran my laptop with my Windows Live Onecare program.

Please help me, thank you very much.

    Hello
I suggest you to reinstall your operating system and all your applications, because it really looks like a software problem.
But given that nobody here knows what he could really be with you (since you´re ask here :)) you should do a table 'clean up' and restore your system.)

This would be the best, and if you got your machine it would be nice if you give some information, if it worked.

    Hi Marisa

In the Device Manager please check first the network cards.
If you see a yellow exclamation mark then that would mean that your WLan driver is not installed correctly.

    This isn't a serious problem.
What you have to do is visit the page of the Toshiba driver we and have to choose the section of Satellite A205-S5843 WLan driver.

    Answer me

    Hello

Windows XP needs a SATA driver if you want to install on the laptop with SATA HDD controller.
Driver SATA can be found in the Intel Storage Manager.

I advise to use nLite program to include a SATA driver in the new Windows XP CD, then boot from the XP CD created new.
You will find details of the nLite:
    http://www.nliteos.com/

    With regard to the problem of Server SQL;
You may be able to install in Windows XP. There may be a compatibility problem between Vista and SQL Server software

    Hello

As I see that you posted several discussions on the same issues. I imagine that you are not happy because of all these issues.
    (1) what to write about BSOD? Nobody here can say with certainty why this happen. As you know, it may be because of some software pre-installed. Who knows what you have installed on your laptop? Accurate diagnosis is definitely not possible.
    (2) install all the missing drivers, Toshiba tools and utilities. Each of them should be available on the Toshiba U.S. support page.
    (3) in this regard, we can only speculate. The fact is that this model of laptop pre-installed with Windows XP Home edition and optimized operating system should work well and smoothly.
    (4) I don't know what answer you expect on this subject. Make sure that the network adapter is properly installed. All others you must clarify with network administrator in your company or your Internet service provider
    (5) no comments for this.

  • Satellite A205-S7464: how to install for XP Pro SP2 Toshiba common Modules

    Hi all.

I have a new laptop computer that is preinstalled with Windows Vista Home Premium because they tend to.
Vista will not run a number of programs I need to run, I found, and I really don't like that much anyway...
I decided to install Windows XP.

I partitioned the HD and ran the installation program to a new partition on the disk with all the drivers that I have collected for sleepstreamed XP on my XP Professional Retail drive. There is no problem. I got everything up and going very well. My only problem now (well, except for some residual issues with the original partition to Vista), is I can't get utilities Toshiba owners going so that I can use for example the keys FN + commands, options power management, etc.

I've experimented with a couple of different versions of the Modules around common drivers and other utilities, but have some still been unable to get things moving in the direction I want to go.

Essentially, it's really control FN + F6 and F7 (brightness adjustment), as the monitor on this beast kills a battery.
I tried the support from Toshiba, but without success.
I know that the Vista to XP downgrade is a fairly common gesture, so if someone has been there and could give me some guidance step by step in getting things market I would be forever indebted.

The model is Toshiba Satellite A205-S7464, Réf. PSAF3U-07300V.
Let me know if any other information is needed.

    Thanks in advance, Jacob

There seems to be a series of laptops that have been delivered only in the USA and therefore all Toshiba drivers and utilities must be installed from the US site.

It is a Toshiba driver page we:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/Su/su_sc_modSel.jsp

Where did you find this driver of common modules?

    > I've experimented with a couple of different versions of the Modules around common drivers and other utilities, but have some still been unable to get things moving in the direction I want to go.
I assume that you are not able to install these common modules because you used the wrong version that does not and is not compatible with your laptop.

  • Satellite A205: New HDD - error after recovery

I replaced the hard drive in the Satellite A205 and used the Toshiba Recovery and disc drivers/Application to re - install the drivers and Windows Vista.

However, when the recovery ends and the windows starts for the first time, I get a message: Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on a hardware on this computer.

The new hard drive is a Western Digital 500 GB SATA.
Is there a conflict with the new hard drive?

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks for any help.

    Hello

It might be possible that there is a conflict with the new HARD drive.
Try to start Windows Vista is SafeMode (F8-> safe mode)
    Is this possible?

You can also try to repair the system.
    F8-> fix my computer

    Another question:
Have you tried to install the system using Microsoft Windows disc clean?

  • I can't install Windows XP on Satellite A205-s5831

    Hello
    I bought a new Satellite A205-s5831 laptop.
I want to downgrade Vista to XP but I can't.
I've been on it for 7 to 8 hours, but I couldn't do anything.

The thing is, I can't find RAID drivers for my laptop. So I can copy it to my USB floppy.
I downloaded the 32-bit Intel Matrix Storage Manager floppy Configuration utility for my GL960 chipset.
I copied the files on my floppy drive, but even that did not help.

Then, someone at - it an idea?

    THX

The key is definitely the Intel Matrix Storage Manager.
And you don t have no need driver RAID but SATA drivers!
The SATA drivers are part of the Intel Matrix Storage nursery and they will work for sure!

I noticed that sometimes drivers diskette advantage 3rd don t work as it should, and that's why you should try to create a new XP CD using the freeware tool called nLite.

The nLite can help you to integrate the SATA driver into Windows XP and to create a new XP CD.

PS: SP2 is important and must be also installed on the XP CD

  • How to install Windows XP SP2 on Satellite A205-S4587 no floppy USB drive

    Hi all.

I ask forgiveness for my English
I have the Toshiba Satellite A205-S4587 model. For me it is not necessary for Windows Vista operating system, and I want to establish the Windows XP SP2 operating system. Because I have all queshion.

    1. If I is not this floppy drive usb can I implement the driver for the sata controller drivers. On the site

    2. for my model there is no driver support under WindowsXp SP2 on a site, only for Windows Vista. There will be WindowsXp SP2 support for my model in the future and are compatible, how the driver Windows Vista for WindowsXp SP2.

Thank you. Again, I ask forgiveness for my English. WBR Nikolay Khachaturov.

    Hello

I put t know if I can solve all your problems, but I'll try to give some useful advice.

    With regard to the point;

    1) you don't need external USB floppy drive.
You can create a clean XP Boot CD. There is a freeware application called nLite.
Using this program you can incorporate additional drivers as the RAID or SATA and MS service packs in a Windows XP operating system.
Just Google for nLite and I'm sure that you will find useful and interesting articles and website on this software.

    2) well, it is a mobile American and was designed for the American market.
That's why you should look for drivers on the Web of Toshiba U.S. site.
If you won't find anything, then you try the XP drivers designed for another Satellite A205/A200 series or you seek drivers XP only on chip manufacturing such as Intel, nVidia, etc.

    Good luck
