Satellite A210-128 both hinges are broken
I have a laptop Satellite A210-128, but recently the two hinges have broke.
And also the montings of screws which connect to the hinge.
I searched a few spare parts and found pieces of Satellite A210-11 t.
Are the hinges of a compatible with my laptop? And the bottom of the case which also holds the screws?
All compatible parts can be ordered on a local ASP (Toshiba authorized service partner)
Get in touch with the guys and ask a compatible hinges.
I have a top of the range (at time of purchase) by Satellite 502 901 (2.4 Ghz, 80 GB, 512 MB ram, son of the late, display 1600 x 1200, pentium 4 mobile, docking Bay slot...). Unfortunately, after a year I had problems. The unit is now 3 years old and the hinges are broken on the screen. The DVD/CD drive also fails to operate occasionally. I also had a "Thunder fly" switch to the screen, crawling in the middle and died there, very nice.
I still tenderly care for the laptop, while it cost me an arm and a leg. I always love the laptop despite the problems, but would like help as to where you can get help. I need the hinges of the screen (his share of the work aluminium frame in the main body of the laptop. Where can they be purchased? I live in GERMANY, but I am English and bought the laptop in Southampton England from PC World.
I'd appreciate any help. I don't need parts, I have already a computer technician.
If you don't find anything on eBay so the hinges and the executives of the screen you can buy or order too at the Toshiba service partner in your country. On the Toshiba support page, you will find a data base of the entire ASP worldwide.
I have a laptop Satellite A210-128.
The product specifications (Toshiba Homepage + manual) say that there a
' * Express Card * "-Slot
But "Everest" tells me that I have a ' TI PCI84x2 (Typ: * PC Card (PCMCIA) *, 32-bit)»
* What I have really map PC or ExpressCard (what version?)? *
Background: I think to buy a card... the goal of Extension - USB3.0 I guess it would be only possible for a real Express-Card-Slot and no "PC-Card (PCMCIA)...".
Advice, which is correct, would be nice!
Thank you very much
The laptop supports EXPRESS CARD location.
I guess you are able to use 16-bit and 32-bit (called CardBus)
The slot that allows the use of cards 34mm and 54mm and data max be 2.5Gbps
Can someone help me with this problem?
I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A210-128 with vista separately on DVD, but it seems that the dvd is damaged and I can't use it any more.
I installed on my laptop to a whole new Vista from the original DVD that I m using it on my desktop, but the problem is that vista cannot detect my hd2600 graphics card.
So I m stuck... I tried to install the ati driver on Toshiba Update site, but I get an error because the ccc cannot detect a graphics card? /
What to do?
It's something special with the DVD I have Toshiba?
Thank you very much.

The whole is really mysterious. In my opinion, there are two options;
Either your have used and tried to install a bad graphics driver or there is something wrong with your GPU chip.
You are 100% you tired of a graphics driver to the right of the European driver Toshiba page?
If Yes, then I recommend contact the ASP in your country, as this could be really a hardware problem.
Also I found you second secondment in another thread
and I think this must be a graphics card problem.
I have a question about the installation of different OS Vista provided with Toshiba Satellite A210-128.
I Mat * a DVD - RAM UJ-850 drive and it will not read the CD bootable XP.
I found a few posts in other forums that this drive won't allow me to install XP.
So here's my question: someone at - he tried to install Windows 7 (RC TE) with this drive? Or maybe someone has been successful with the installation of Windows XP?
Thanks to all those who would like to help :-)
I think you're a little confused, but I want to help you.
First of all it s any CD/DVD drive is installed in your laptop.
The installation of Windows XP and Win 7 should work with all readers who are able to read the CD or DVD.
I guess that you were not able to install Win XP because the CD/DVD drive was not able to manage this particular drive.
A friend of mine had the same problem with the other player. After a long period of use of the window of disc was not readable.
But he could solve this problem. It has burned (copied) the Win XP disk on another CD and then used the second drive to install Win XP.
The reader to read the other disk correctly.
Win XP and Win 7 are released on different disk but in most cases the readers should not have any problems with this disc
But if so, then it s mostly a problem of CD/DVD disc
See you soon
is it my support ATA-300 (or ATA - II) of Satellite A210-128 hard disks?

I have a portable satellite A210-128 with a hard drive of 250 G 4200 RPM (* slowest *)... I want to change the hard drive with a hdd 2.5 "Western Digital 320 G 7200 RPM (* speed *).
1. If I buy a disk sata2 hard can I put on my laptop because my A210-128 has a disk sata hard?
2 can I I install vista on this new hard drive on my vista dvd, im asking this because I want to be shor that my recovery dvd * RECOGNIZES THE NEW HARD drive * and I can install a new copy of windows or installing dvd can * only works with disk drives hard toshiba *... ???
As to the question;
(1) I think a SATA2 HARD drive would go because the standard SATA2 is compatible to the bottom. But I assume that the system will operate as a good HDD SATA.
(2) Yes, you can install vista using the Toshiba Recovery DVD. It shouldn't be a problem with a fresh install
I A210-128 and want top WinXP. Where can I get/download the XP drivers for my laptop?
Satellite A210-128 seems to be new to the market...
It looks like the Toshiba page pilot European provides the drivers for Vista at the moment.
I think you should wait a little bit and I'm sure that XP drivers will be available in the near future.
Of course, you can try to install drivers XP chip manufacturing site.
If you need graphics drivers I recommend visit www.laptopvideo2go.com or www.omegadrivers.net.
Hi, I have a problem with my laptop A210-128, it turns off after about 30 minutes of work, and after that it does not start for about 3 minutes.
When I play a new game in high details it stops faster. I guess it can heat up, because the base of my laptop gets hotter faster than before.
How can I check my CPU temperature to exclude this right, or is it something else?
The laptop becomes too hot, and so it will turn off by itself.
You should always make sure that there is enough free space around the laptop. It is important for good air circulation.
For don t use a laptop in bed, sofa or something else because it's not good for the circulation of air.
In your case I would clean the internal cooling fan. You do not need to disassemble anything. Use own jet of air compressed and could blow the dust from the ventilation of cooling.
If it doesn t help you should go to an ASP (authorized service provider) and allow to check your laptop.
I have a satellite Pro A60, unfortunately no longer under warranty. One of the screws which fix the hinges to the frame has sheared which means the hinge must be replaced.
When I removed the top cover (it covers a bunch of inches at the back of the laptop, I noticed the two hinges were cracked.) This allows the hinge of the left hand to oscillate (as the only thing now that the screen of the laptop is the only one to live.
Basically the two hinges need to be replaced because the only thing now the screen of the laptop (on the right side) is the clip on the cover! It works pretty well, but of course it will put additional pressure on the left side then, probably won't be too long prior to the screw on the left side shears off.
any kind soul here would know the numbers for the left and right hinges?
The model name is the model Satellite Pro A60EN PSA65E 00N00WEN number.
All parts can be ordered from the Toshiba service partner in your country.
I studied a little bit in the net, but don t found part numbers.
However, to ask guys ASP. They should know what part is compatible
Is it possible to get somewere drivers Windows XP for my laptop? Or he will continue to live under the table in the box? It's my mistake while I boat, I have however, that all computers run Windows XP. Now I see - this is false.
But, really, I need for my work laptop XP and only.
What should I do?
I wonder why you didn't check specifications for portable computers and the software that comes with the laptop before buy you.
But nevertheless, at the present time, most computers comes with Vista.
All Microsoft is pushing the new product and especially you have no other choice as to buy and new computer with Vista.
The 210-128 Satellite belongs to the PSAELE series.
For now XP drivers are not available for the A210 series. But if you want you may test only drivers of another series of laptop that supports the same devices and chips.
You can also try to download the XP drivers on the website of chip manufacturing.
or you can wait until Toshiba goes out for the A210 XP drivers.
Unfortunately, my laptop Toshiba L450D guard split hinge when the screen is set. When the screen is put back / adjusted back a big gap appears between the screen and the box and there is a lot of noise.
When the screen is set forward (like closing) a huge gap appears on the back of the hinge. It seems that the hinge is not properly either and I think that what is happening because the hinge is stuck.
My laptop is out of warranty now that I would have taken it to a gas station for people to fix it.

Is there a manual way to solve this problem?
I appreciate any assistance.
Way the easiest is to bring the book to the nearest Toshiba service provider. They can order the broken part and Exchange.
Manual to fix it? you mean manuals maintenance, right? Maintenance manuals is not for public use and not free for download.
Why is there no support for Windows XP drivers for this particular model (I see only 6 drivers at the link below, and most of them are firmware updates)? Where are the audio drivers, ethernet, graphics drivers, chipset drivers drivers...?
Am I missing something? In the affirmative, please help me.
This shouldn't be a big problem
I had the A210 in the past that a few months ago and I installed Win XP on it
I found the drivers on the Toshiba European driver page I collected it from different pages A210/A200
I installed Everest Home Edition (it of free) to know what devices and chip are inside my laptop
This helped me a lot
Hi all. I have a (serious) problem.
I bought my Toshiba two years ago (it was brand new) with Windows Vista already installed (vista and boot partition). Now I'm trying to boot and install Windows 7 Ultimate, but after I select boot from CD/DVD and start the copy of the system files, my Toshiba * turns *, completely. Overheating is not the problem for sure.
Anyone with a similar experience or everything to know about how to solve my problem? :(((
Why you are sure that your computer laptop isn't overheating? In my view turn is the typical pattern of overheating and you must clean your laptop using a jet of compressed air. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans.
Check this box!
You have this problem when you try to install Windows 7 or make this happen with the Toshiba recovery disc too?
Maybe during the process of copying the files will be written on a bad sector on the HARD drive and so he shuts himself who knows?
