  Yes, the flash upgrade did not go with me as, like many I've seen. Weird that toshiba recommends a bios flash when you get the errors of installation win7 / vista, and have many fail.

  I tried 3 versions of different bios of the internet, 2 from the site of toshiba (2.0 and 2.1, I thought) and alaa200a.rom.

  When I do the disc of crisis with the crisdisk.bat (even do it in DOS) it copies all the files on the floppy disk, also tried different phflash versions. Older actually seem to load for 2 minutes, the most recent tend to charge for a few seconds then stops and starts loading again etc.

  Needless to say that all my efforts with these bios have not paid off for a bit.

  When I put the laptop normally and when I press the Fn key on the keyboard, the Fn actually lights up, but nothing else happens.

  Anyone who would have an idea what to do, apart from buying a new bios chip?

  I think that you have to contact the ASP (SAV) to reflash the Bios. The Bios failure topics discussed almost every day and no one can give a good solution and more communicating with ASP.

  I come to you with what I noticed to be a fairly frequent problem for users of Satellite A2xx - downgrade from Windows Vista to XP.

  I am owner of a 2 - day old of a Toshiba Satellite A210 - 16F PSAEL (AMD processor) and Vista Home Premium crashes on me during the installation of an application.   My Satellite A210-16F (PSAELE) * still works with 800 MHz instead of 1.9 GHz *-even though I select the profile of full power. I reinstall Windows, but it did not help :/ Core temp tells me only 50 C temperature.
  If I try to run one last game it detect CPU at 800 MHz and output... His power profile not only hurt I think...

  I can perhaps try to load the latest BIOS and refresh it?

  You can use the drivers released for other series of mobile phones that support Win 7.
  LAN, WLan, BT, driver sound driver touchpad are model independent and should work on you A210 too.

  Also I recommend that you install VAP (value added package) and Flash Card Utility for Win 7 Support. You can find it in Satellite L500 for example.

  I installed Win 7 on my A210 and everything works fine.

  For the PSAELE are not display XP drivers available, but you can try the driver for another model A210. It should work too!

  Hi, I bought a Satellite A210-16f. I did the downgrade to XP Professional... Everything works fine, but I burn cds, dvdcs, audiocds can´t...
  I don't know if its problem of HW or SW problem... In Vista home I didn't try to burn a CD, because I reinstalled it XP.

  I use Nero 8, but after 3% of burn it show me error and Burning process failed
  Nero 7 shows me the same.

  I tried Toshiba disc creator and this SW shows me this:

  Stops the current process
  Error occurred during the registration phase...

  Well, either it's a question madia or CD/DVD drive problem.
  Check another CD and DVD from different manufacturers.
  If the same thing happens to what different types of media, then it s a STRANGE HW issue.

  On the Toshiba European driver page, you can find the ATI display driver v8.413.3.
  It was posted on 23/01/08 and it seems that there is a newer version which is available!
  Unfortunately, other driver graphic versions don t it right now.

  The model number is * PSAELE-01S009G3 *.

  I put t know what HARD drive chassis you re meaning precisely because the HARD drive in my A210 notebook can not find in any media
  It s just connected to the connectors in the HARD drive Bay.

  Anyway, if you need a few laptop parts (not looking at this as part it is) then I recommend you contact the ASP (certified partner) in your country in order to get a part for the Satellite A210 laptop model.

  Toshiba doesn t have a sort of universal password, and unfortunately, no one here can help you with this problem.
  I just hope that you have downloaded the good BIOS upgrade for your laptop model.

  The password can be removed by the Toshiba service provider. They can do it in 15 minutes.
  Sorry, but buddy I'm afraid there is nothing you can do about it.
