Satellite A210 display problems

Hi all

I like my Toshiba A210-10Y, but there seems to be some problems with it.

Portable computer does not always start immediately; Sometimes, I have to press the 'close' button because the Black Guard screen and the blue satellite does not burn (but you can hear it make a sound and light Burns 'on').
* Close the screen for a while, is a no-go for my laptop. I already changed the "loading windows after closing" settings (sorry, my laptop is Dutch so I don't know what said that.. English for the Dutch people here 'windows hervatten'.) But even that does not always work so I have to press the close button and restart my laptop (how boring when you're in school). What I really want is to close the screen and open it again and go right, back to work... like everyone :(
Blue screen has become a common friend. Sometimes when you're at work... type a little bit, you know. The computer is fr blue screen reboots without reason! It goes right down!
* I often blocks on the screen... not dead pixels, but the Brown block on the top of the screen... sometimes they disappear, sometimes not.
* Lately, I have to restart my computer over and over again, because after he loaded it sometimes stuck... "crash" again (not blue screen of death, but a white layer)

I still have the original warranty and I bought an extended warranty. I can fix it on myself with some drivers or re-install windows (vista) or do I give the nice people of the store I bought a call?

Thank you.

Hmm it of really difficult to say what's wrong with your laptop.
Sounds a bit like your screen to wake up from stand-by or hibernation mode.

But on the other hand is more sounds like a graphics card problem.
I mean especially this statement:
> Blue screen has become a common friend. Sometimes when you're at work... Type a little bit, you know. The computer is fr blue screen reboots without reason! It goes right down! I often blocks on the screen not dead pixels, but the Brown block on the top of the screen... Sometimes they disappear, sometimes not.

It sounds really not good if you ve hangs on the screen!

In your case, it would be really desirable to contact the ASP in your country.
The fact is that your laptop warranty is valid, and if something would be wrong with parts, it should be fixed for free
I think that the ASP is not a bad idea.

Good bye

  • Display on Satellite A210-1AO problem

I have a Satellite A210-1AO running Windows Vista.
Since a couple of months, or a recurring questions arose: at random times the laptop gets lines across the entire screen. The lines aren't straight, they're more like following the shape of the image (so * they change according to the image of the screen *) and are in color (I think mostly green, but not sure). I often turn off the pc then and the next time I turn it on is fine. Once, however, during the closure, the screen went white but the pointer/cursor was always visible.

The incidents are more frequent. Once, I tried to unplug the charger when it happened and lines began to blink and be even more worrying, so I plugged the charger while I turned off the laptop.

You have any ideas what might trigger such behavior?

On the virtual path that is not easy to offer accurate diagnosis but I think the graphics card is the troublemaker and I m afraid that it will be even worse in the future.
Graphics card is part of the motherboard, so a kind easy fix or replacement is not possible.

The problem occurs in several OS´s and even in the BIOS-meny. None of the solutions posted in this forum / other items solves the problem.

The battery is not a solution (as suggested in other posts), the problem reoccurs after availability and sometimes even right to restart the computer. (Et laisse le visage, un ordinateur portable sans une batterie est un _stationary_) =)

No! It's not overheating and heat issue, this problem may occur at startup after a powerdown complete with battery and power removed. (and no, this isn't a problem of dust or a problem of broken / lack of cooling-fans/ventilation)

I use the lates for my model BIOS, so make a habit/flash-update of the bios to solve the problem.

  • The satellite M60 display problems

    Hello

I bought a satellite M60 a month ago, and since then, I've been strugling trying to solve a problem that has to do with the display (ATI 700 X mobility).
When I play some games (the dawn of war, Unreal tournament...) the computer freezes completely, I actually have to force stop it to restart.
Another problem, that I have seen is with Mixmeister Pro 6, the video playback is erratic, it is as if the computer is unable to handle any overload.

I tried the upgrade of drivers, nothing works, then I installed the third party Omega drivers, but once again, nothing to do.

Since the purchase of the M60, I had to correct problems of Wirless and PCMCIA card through driver updates, but there is nothing that I'm be able to do to resolve this display problem.

I am quite convinced it's a driver issue, but then again, nothing is certain.

If anyone can help me please I'm getting desperate.

    Hello

Well, it's not easy to say why it happens but one of my friends has sometimes even appearance but on another unit. If he plays a high-performance games unity cling.
In my view, this could be a heating problem. Playing games is hard work for the laptop, because all parts (bars of memory, processor, graphics card, etc.) work with max performance and produce a lot of heat. Most laptops are not developed for this.

However, you should always use the graphics driver from Toshiba. I found the latest version of 15/07/05. It is a display 8.121.050.322A driver. In addition, you must install latest DirectX. I think that it s a 9.1. Check whether the fixes for these games are available.

Second, if video playback is erratic, it seems that the OS is fully committed.
In this case, you should check the processes that run in the background of the operating system.
In addition, try to defragment the HARD disk

  • Satellite L850 - display problems external 1080 p

I did turn my laptop Satellite L850 via HDMI to an external monitor without problem for many months.

A couple of weeks, I tried to update the catalyst driver and have had problems since.
Basically now when I select mode 1080 p via the Catalyst Control Panel, it makes the screen flash and present vertical lines.

Occasionally, it will work for a short time, even up to a full day and it will randomly start once again. I can play a game in 1080 p mode and it will be totally random, sometimes which allows me to play for hours without having the screen flashes black while the other times, it starts flashing constantly and the only way to fix it is to reboot or pull the HDMI cable and plug back and cross your fingers you have enough time to reopen the catalyst and change in 720 p which is always stable.

    I tried:

1 using the AMD catalyst removal tool and resettlement through the catalyst of origin Toshiba drivers factory default
    2. use to restore the system to go back before I made the changes
3 using the removal tool from AMD Catalyst and update to the latest version via the site Web of AMD.
4 reinstall my chipset with #1 drivers
5 tried another monitor (still happens)

On a side note, whenever I use the removal tool it removes my USB drivers too and I have to reinstall.

The current graphics driver is AMD Radeon HD 7670 M and I also tried the solution on here http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/item/781 tech support forum.

I ran out of options other than a full format and reinstall I want to avoid if possible. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

The AMD Catalyst (control software) update would not solve the issue.
You need to update the graphics driver too!
The graphics card driver can be uninstalled in Device Manager!

I found also this Toshiba document to similar topic which appeared after the phone woke from sleep mode.
[After sleep mode, a distorted image or a split screen may be displayed: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB3903IB0000R01.htm]

This problem was caused by the display AMD. V9.12.0.0 driver, which was automatically installed through the Windows Update feature.

Download and install the driver of Toshiba page of European driver that should solve the issue of the line

  • Satellite A660 - display problems, very dark display

    Hello

I'm at the end of help please.

    I have a Toshiba Satellite A660 PSAW3A-07P00R.

recently, it has been very, very dark display on the screen, almost impossible to see.
I tried the following the problem solved.

    1. set the brightness to the MAX in the operating system, power management, etc.
2 reset the BIOS to default settings.
    3. set the brightness to the MAX on the laptop brightness settings.
    4. check the external display via a VGA cable. tested ok.
    5. I bought a new LED 16 "screen but the new screen has the same problems. If I understand correctly, LED screens (1 data cable video on the bottom of the screen to connect to the motherboard) have the "inverter" built into the display, so appears not to be a problem of map display, brightness or graphics. I would be fair to assume that this is related to the data cable from the screen? If Yes, is a piece that can come from Toshiba? or something easily fixable?

is there something easy, I missed, or something I have not tried?
has anyone else experienced this problem and solved?

    Thank you in advance.

    > I would be fair to assume that this is related to the data cable from the screen? If Yes, is a piece that can come from Toshiba? or something easily fixable?

As much as I know there is no FL inverter then, or you can override the display or the cable (LCD/FL)
LVDS cable) with a new one and the test shows again.
    I found a compatible: K000103140 LVDS CABLE

  • Satellite P100 - display problem after installing the Samsumg software

    Hello

I have a Toshiba P100-PSPA3 and just bought a new external monitor Sincmaster from Samsung. I installed it yesterday and everything works fine, I just plug in and the laptop recognizes it as a second monitor. Then I noticed the monitor comes with a CD and they recommend you to install the components of this CD.

I installed the driver and still works fine but then I installed a software called * Magic money *, it is said that I should make a new start, I did and the image comes in the second monitor, * my laptop screen is black.*
Then I begin to try all the possible solution I had in my head. I open this Magic Tune, and he says that it s not compatible with my computer, so I uninstall it. I have downloaded the drivers from Nvidia, Toshiba, installed again and again doesn´t work.

I prove with the nvidia settings and the West without change. NVIDIA doesn´t recognize my laptop as a monitor, screen it recognizes just the Samsumg Sincmaster.

I looked for people with the same problem in other forums and a possible solution was to turn off the computer, remove the battery and press the power for a few seconds, trying to carry out the computer. I did and it didn t work.

Someone here could give me a light? I m totally lost now and I have to work with my computer in the next few days!
    Thank you very much
    Ivan

    Hello

This software is not known to me and it is important to say that notebook manufacturers may not support some third part software.

I put t know if this software must be preinstalled but I'm sure you can use your external display without it. When the external display is connected, you can switch between the LCD and external monitor by using the FN + F5 key combination. If you want to extend the display outside a use Windows display settings. It should work. I tested several laptop Toshiba with a few different monitors in my office and I n t noticed no problem.

Have you already solved your problem or you are still looking for the solution?

  • Satellite M70 - display problem

When Windows does not finish loading, then everything is ok

But when the Windows operating system has finished initializing, it shows me this:

    http://IPicture.ru/Gallery/viewfull/4675164.html

    Hello

Do you mean the red signs on the screen?
Sorry, but it very difficult to recognize something

Try to reinstall the display driver and check if this disappears.

In addition, you could connect an external monitor and could check if the same question would be visible on the second monitor.
This procedure could be useful to know what could be wrong or what role would have problems.
Generally, if the same is visible on the screens of stand, then a problem could be linked to the faulty graphics card.
If the issue is visible on one monitor then a defective screen could lead to problems

However, first check the update of the graphics driver

    Good luck

  • Satellite A210 - display becomes darker after 5 minutes

My satellite is fairly new, I bought 2 months ago. I already wrote toshiba an e-mail, but I have yet to answer.
When I start my laptop, the light is very bright, everything right. But after 5 minutes, it turns into a darker shade. Not very dark, but a slight layer of gray. He did it now for 2 weeks or more.

I looked for the brightness of the display settings, but they are up. What I'm asking is that the controller is at the maximum, but he says it's only 70 (instead of 100 which I guess would be the real maximum).

Also with the FN keys does not, because it's also the highest level of brightness. I don't know what to do next. Maybe a driver is needed or do you not think that the screen is broken?

I hope you all understand me.

    Thank you
    Candy

Can you please you start Notepad and enter the BIOS settings? Leave 5 minutes running and tell us if the screen is darker as when you use the operating system.

  • Satellite L10 - display problem

    Display don't shoot upward.
I think that the power supply cord has been wrong port. Could it be a fuse?

    Hello

To be honest I n know if that's the reason or not, but it would be interesting to know if you can see an image on the external monitor.
    You can check this?

Satellite L10 is pretty old notebook then maybe you can get parts of second hand cheap on ebay.

  • Satellite A210 - 16G - problem of CPU frequency and memory

    Hey guys,.

    I had a problem with my laptop I can't solve, since I installed windows 7 RTM x 64 version.
I noticed something is wrong after finding that my Windows experience index has fallen to 2.7 instead of 4.5, I used to have on Vista. For those who do not know my characteristics are:
AMD Turion 64 X 2 TL-60, which I've got 2.7 of note, 4 GB Kingston DDR2-667 (333 MHz) - 4.4, scores of charts and hard drives are the same.

I read in one of the forums that it may be a problem with the standby power options, but he did not get any option that says on the frequency of the processor changing according to the plan of the power. I also installed new version 2.0 of the website of Toshiba BIOS, but it only makes things worse: I've got 6.0 rating graphics of games but the Perf of Aero desktop is now 1.0!

I installed diagnostic software: Everest and CPU - Z and I discovered that my CPU works with a frequency of 800 Mhz (the multiplier is 4 x, voltage 0.8V) and my DRAM frequency is 159.8 Mhz (I don't know if it's ok, but I know that 4.4 score is certainly too low although).

So tell me guys, is this a problem of the operating system? Should I try to install the 32-bit version of Windows 7, or it won't change anything? Maybe I should try some software that would change the frequency of my FSB?
I'm waiting for your answers, because I don't know what to do.

    Paul

Aero needs a WDDM compatible graphics driver, then try to update the graphics driver on the Toshiba site

  • Satellite A210 start problem

    Hello

This afternoon, I turned on my laptop and it was in perfect condition. I went to the Microsoft Update Web site, downloaded and installed the latest security patches and rebooted the computer.

But it does not start! It shows the Toshiba logo but then a blank screen and that's it.

I thought that he would have something to do with the HD, but I can't even the configuration of the BIOS. If I press F2 or F12 nothing happens.

It is very strange that the laptop is not yet a year old, are not widely used and always handled with great care.

Any ideas? Before using the guarantee? I really need the laptop...

    Thank you

Have you tried booting in safe mode? You can access this by pressing F8 at startup, this will give you access to your Advanced Boot Options. Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to select Safe mode and press ENTER. If you can load safe mode, use the Restore Wizard to restore to a previous restore point.

    Hello

Satellite A210 display goes off in time and returns only when the computer is restarted.
Duration usual DURATION 30 or 45 minutes

    Please advice
    # Is it a hardware or software problem?
    # Some other face same problem brings advice?

The machine is a year and a half old runs windows vista Basic that comes with it.

I reinstalled the drivers card display also the problem remains same

    Hello

Have you tried an external monitor on the laptop?
If the external monitor works fine, it seems to be a problem of internal display and must be replaced.

You use the factory settings on your laptop computer or you have installed your own version of Windows? Before turning to an authorized service provider, you need to restore factory settings to determine if it s a hardware or software problem. With the factory settings, everything should work fine and if not, I think it s a hardware problem.

    Check this box!

  • Re: Need Satellite A210-10y - 3D CAD program doesn't work - new display driver

    Hello

First of al I have a toshiba Satellite A210-10y, but I have a question for the display driver.
I have a problem with a program of 3D CAD and a suggestion to solve the problem, is to update the display driver.

But I can ' find a new driver on the driver support. It seems that Toshiba leave support after 3 months after the introduction.
Because that's when the most recent driver is out. Is this true or do I go to the wrong place.

    Greetz Tom

    Hello

The laptop seems to support the Mobility Radeon® X 2400 graphics chip.
Have you tried the driver released by ATI?

Toshiba usually provides own pilots on the European driver Toshiba page. But if this version is too old for you, then you should check the driver from makers of graphics chips. Of course there is no guarantee if such driver would be fine, so you will need to test this you know good luck

  • Display Manager does not start after Satellite A210-117 wakes up from his sleep

    Hello

I have some difficulty with a Satellite A210-117 PSAELE-00E00MFR. I installed W7 x 64 professional and display driver ATI Catalyst to Radeon HD 2400.

My graphics card appears in Device Manager as an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400 with the current version of the driver 8.970.100.3000 from AMD, and I can't find a better.

So far, so good, but as soon as W7 goes into 'sleep' or 'hybrid sleep', the display manager does not re - start correctly. He keeps trying to display Windows, but finally the phone re boots.
But if I put the laptop to 'Hibernate', then he wakes up fine.

I don't know if this problem is known, because I can't find anything on the Internet on this subject independently to obtain the latest driver. Anyone an idea how to solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

On the page of the Toshiba UE driver (Archive), you will find drivers for Win 7 32 bit A210.
Driver ATI 8.452 - 080109 is available too.
Its a previous version and I recommend to test the unit by using this version of the driver
