  Hi all

  I have a problem with my Thinkpad x 201. Original OS was Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on the main data partition and so I lost my original OS. But the partition recovery and partition of 1 GB of smal (system_drv) are still intact! Now I can not access the recovery partition in windows, nor can I access the ThinkVantage button at startup.

  I found something on the similar problem - linux installed, but not Windows.

  So can I get original OS and how to do it without having to purchase recovery discs?

• Satellite A30 - 203 - recovery disk does not work

  Hi all

  I have an old Satellite A30-203 and have a problem. I tried to format my laptop but the product recovery cd does not seem to work in deletion the data on my disk, its becomes blocked during loading files of ntfs? Now I am not able to retrieve a windows session would I need a new product recovery cd and would be able to get it?

  It is difficult to say what is the reason of this but made is either it s a laptop problem itself or the recovery disc (e.g. scratches) causes this problem.

  In my opinion the best way to check this using a Microsoft Windows disk. If the installation completed successfully, you need a new recovery disk. As a result, you can ask a service provider authorized in your country! :)

  My Satellite A30-203 does not illuminate. When I press the power button / nothing happens, but if I remove the power then when I press the power button all the lights other thanthe lights HD lights up and the power lights going outs and less than half a second after the rest of the lights will turn off.

  In my opinion, there is nothing that you can do it sounds like a bad material work because Windows installation doesn t affect the startup procedure until Windows starts so you have a hardware problem.

  Satellite A30-203 supports a standard Wi - Fi: 802. 11B.
  I found also some info on this card and it s certainly compatible with your laptop.

  I discovered that the WiFi network is optional on the A30-203. If you can update the laptop with a minPCI wireless network card.
  After further investigation, I discovered that the Wireless LAN Card Kit PA3212U-1MPC may be compatible with your laptop.

  This can be ordered from the service provider authorized in your country!

  PS; I didn t find any info if your 3362U-1MPC is supported or not.

  I've had my laptop for several years now and have only just signed up for wireless broadband service. My Satellite A30-203 can be improved internally with a mini PCI card (I checked the back) but where I can get a compatible?

  Authorized distributor of parts for Toshiba in my country seems to be outrageous to say the least and are insistent that I send my laptop for them to him have mounted that seems excessive.   Now, I found that works 7.0 microsoft is not anywhere on my computer while it was preinstalled - specs says - ready-to-go-works 7.0.

  I think that this demand was a part of the image of preinstalled Toshiba.
  If you want to get that back you will need to use the Toshiba Recovery disk, which was supplied with the laptop.

• Satellite A30 - shuts down during the installation of recovery or FDISK

  I have a Satellite A30 and I wanted all off it delete and start from scratch.

  Turned back with disc 1 CD product recovery, started well I was prompted to insert disk 2, it does well to about 80% then erased screen, then got the message "invalid partition table". I tried again and same thing happened. Connected FDISK back and chose option 1. 'create a DOS Partition or logic back drive' and the laptop stops. I put the startup option for no network or HARD drive CD player. At startup without inserted discs, I get the following. PXE - E61 madia tset failure, check cable.
  PXE - m0f: exit PXE ROM then freezes.

  Anyone have any ideas?

  I'm not sure at 100%, but from your description, I think that HARD drive get in trouble.
  How pxe message shows that means laptop can not find device bootable and as last it will boot from LAN.

  If possible, try to get a new HARD drive and check if the recovery procedure completes successfully. Old IDE hard drives are not more expensive. To test you can also use a used purposes, but of course has no HDD vice.

  After booting from the CD to install, in 1 minute, I get the following blue screen error message.

  I searched in Google and Microsoft Sites on this problem and I found that the problem of ACPI and it may be one of this thing:

  The system cannot enter ACPI mode. There are several reasons for this, including:
  The system cannot initialize the AML interpreter.
  The system does not find the descriptive table of the root system.
  The system cannot allocate a critical driver.

  The system cannot load device descriptor blocks.
  The system cannot connect to an interrupt vector.
  The SCI_EN (System control interrupt enable request) cannot be set (see 0x00000001).
  The of ACPI Table checksum is incorrect.
  ACPI is a hierarchical organization of tables, each relying on the other to define the full functionality of the system and each device in the system. ACPI starts by looking for the Description of the root system table, which points to the next table, which points to the next table, and so on. Usually, the error 0 x 000000011 occurs because as these tables is damaged or missing.

  are you sure that you have installed the good bios from this machine? It could be, this bad bios downloaded you´ve, then the system does not work because of a bad bios.

  Just do the following: display the model number of your machine and I will guide you towards the good bios version, maybe we can solve your problem.
