Satellite A30 shuts down / blocks

Hello
I have a Toshiba Satellite A30 for about 2 years with no problems. Until today...

I was chatting on MSN Messenger, but had to put my missing status and left the computer for about an hour.

When I came back to it, the screen was all what it was when I left, but there was no control of the mouse, no whirring HARD drive away, not nothing. In fact, it seemed that he had closed the partitally without turning off the screen.

The only way I could reboot had to turn off the power. I disconnected the battery, reconnected everything and tried to reload. I don't even have as much as Logo of Toshiba screen, click on the HARD drive, * which is normal for this machine * and off.

I thought that maybe it was an overheating issue, then I left for half an hour and go home. This time it restarts, but the display was all out of sync. was on 800 x 600 when its usually on the following resolution. (Don't remember who he is). I ran dxdiag and he told me that there is no present display driver, as I had reloaded using the last well known record. It was not a problem, I reinstalled drivers, restarted without any problem.

Everything was fine for 2 h with the laptop, so at this point, I don't think it was a heat issue. I went through the net, when hung just computer still once, I lost all control of the mouse, even if the optical lights on it were always activate when moved, and he seemed to stop again.

Well, I left for 10 minutes, he came back and tried again, it started ok, but as soon as I tried to access anything, he hung up again, forcing me to press the power button to shut down.

Sorry for the lengthy post, but can anyone shed light on this point, I use my laptop on a daily basis, and there are things about it, as I need to access.

I hope someone can help

Thank you

Fruitini

Hello

It is very interesting because it can happen to anyone. I really put t know which can block the laptop. On this way, we can only speculate and it is really not easy to say why this happens to concrete.

I put t know how is your unit configured and that these (process) applications run in the background, but you can try to stop all the unnecessary stuff and see what is happening in this case. Check the Device Manager and make sure that everything is properly recognized. After that create a system restore point and in this way you can restore the system to an earlier time if something goes wrong.

If you do not find what happens I recommend you back up the data and do the recovery procedure. On this way the unit will be own pre-installed and things like this can happen. As you know sometimes happen oddities and there is no logical explanation.

Good luck!

Toshiba Satellite A30-504, connected to the power adapter and with fully charged battery, turns off suddenly while I was reading something on the internet. I tried to turn it on, but she did not respond, and I thought that his mother might have broken down. As by chance, I saw the battery light flashes red for a few seconds, I took the battery of the laptop and left just with the AC adapter. It's on!

When I put the battery, it turn on, but the battery was suddenly + blank +!

He accused now and everything is working well, the laptop runs without the adapter sector is plugged in, but can someone tell me what is the thing that's happened? The problem is perhaps not in the battery but in something else? I don't think it was overheated because it came on after I took out the battery and I continued to work for hours after the incident... Thank you.

    > He accused now and everything is working well, the laptop runs without the adapter sector is plugged in, but can someone tell me what is the thing that's happened. The problem is perhaps not in the battery but in something else?

I think that no one will be able to tell why this happened. Maybe there is a problem of short with electronic power supply to the Board of directors who knows I think that only a technician of the laptop could provide a response after the laptop has been verified.

But the most important is that your laptop works fine now.

  • Satellite A30 - shuts down during the installation of recovery or FDISK

I have a Satellite A30 and I wanted all off it delete and start from scratch.

Turned back with disc 1 CD product recovery, started well I was prompted to insert disk 2, it does well to about 80% then erased screen, then got the message "invalid partition table". I tried again and same thing happened. Connected FDISK back and chose option 1. 'create a DOS Partition or logic back drive' and the laptop stops. I put the startup option for no network or HARD drive CD player. At startup without inserted discs, I get the following. PXE - E61 madia tset failure, check cable.
PXE - m0f: exit PXE ROM then freezes.

    Anyone have any ideas?

I'm not sure at 100%, but from your description, I think that HARD drive get in trouble.
How pxe message shows that means laptop can not find device bootable and as last it will boot from LAN.

If possible, try to get a new HARD drive and check if the recovery procedure completes successfully. Old IDE hard drives are not more expensive. To test you can also use a used purposes, but of course has no HDD vice.

  • Satellite P10 shuts down unexpectedly after only 4/5 minutes to be turned on

Hey, I have a problem with my Satellite P10 2.5 years.
The problem is it turns off unexpectedly after 4/5 minutes being powered on.

After he fires it on again for about 7 to 10 HOURS, even with the power drive inside displays the 4 lights on the front, but it will not even power the start-up routine.

I tried different combinations of power/battery and I still get the same problem.
I'm sure that it is overheating and then take hours to enhance down.

Your opinion on this would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance...

    Ben

    Hi Ben,

Certainly, it sounds like an overheating issue from your description, although I expect to recover much faster than 7 to 10 hours. You can try the technique of aspiration of dust on the grids of aspiration air to see if it improves the situation. Also check that the fans are working properly and that there is sufficient space around the appliance when it is in use.

    Kind regards

  • Re: Satellite A200 - shuts down for no reason

I was walking where post and for a long time, allows to get help. My laptop Toshiba Satellite A200, 3.5 years
    * Problem: *.
Previously, its used to stop by itself in the middle of the applications without any warning, the station used to be /: screen stops, no input from the keyboard or the touchpad, but the headlights before that mean the laptop is 'ON' remained * then I used to restart and thought it was a prob. OS or a problem of battery/charger (replaced both but not difference) and then this thing began to be more frequent and now the day has come, it won't switch.

    Current scenario: *.
When I turn it on with the battery (without charger), turns on, screen lights up, it starts, power normal and at that time there if I plug into any compatible charger (I tried a bit), he died (the same way as mentioned in the "BOLD" letters above). If I restart or launch it otherwise while the charger is plugged in, it does not start but the headlights, the fan and the most important thing, to the processor (like the sound of sparks), this sound only sounded while I plug the charger.

So, please help me out here, I don't know why he is not initialize

    Hey Buddy,

This s really strange behavior, but I guess that this problem is related to hardware, I doubt it has something to do with the pre-installed software
It seems to be a serious malfunction of equipment.

In your case I contact an authorized service provider and ask the guys for help. In my opinion, it might be something wrong with the motherboard or the CPU itself but that s my personal opinion. So the easiest way is that you get in touch with the guys because they can give you an official response and make an accurate diagnosis. After that, you can decide whether you want to repair the laptop. ;)

  • Satellite 1800 shuts down without warning

    Hello

I have a toshiba satellite 1800, which I use for 6 months and it started to turn at random. I can't seem to find the problem I tried the new ram, but it turns out always. I even tried to reinstall windows XP home, but when I do, it happens to the part of the installation when it just loaded the drivers and at the beginning, before choosing options it turns off. The last thing on the screen when you try is when it says loading windows. He should ask me if I want to install windows or repair an existing installation, but just, it turns off. There only SP1 installed when I try to install SP2 goes out at halfway.

This is starting to get boring. Sometimes very randomly. I can surf the web and watch video clips and listen to music for several days before that happens again and it will be then 6-7 boots before I can enter windows turns off everything as she gets into windows. Sometimes turns off before the desktop appears and a few times when all the icons. It is very random.

    Any ideas?

    Kind regards

    Hello

In my opinion if the warranty is valid you shouldn't do all experiences and should ask the service partner Toshiba guy in control of the aircraft. You should know that if you open Notepad, you will lose the warranty!

  • Satellite A50 shutting down/no boot, maybe overheating?

For a month, since the installation of Office 2007 on my laptop, my computer seems to be slower and the fan seems to be almost constantly, while I never noticed it before.

Last week, while surfing the internet, it is firm and not will re-start even in safe mode.
After various attempts to restart, my partner, a COMPUTER technician, thinking it was a hard drive error, after running the disk check, installed next to my existing windows and removed the former. After various analyses and controls, viruses, spyware, etc., everything was clean.

The next day, it happened again, this time as my partner a re-formatted my drive and to halfway through reinstalling everything, it happened a third time.
He now works for a day, but the fan seems constantly on and is stronger--I have never noticed that the front fan.
    Any suggestions?

This could be an overheating problem that has suddenly made things corrupt or not work? It feels all hot for me, and this isn't something more than surfing the net and work on Word.
Any suggestion would be great, otherwise, I'm afraid, it may accidentally fall out of the window!

    Hello

in such cases what you describe, it would be good to clean the dust CPU fan, because sometimes it can happen that the cooling system
is clobbed with dust and is not really blow the hot air out of the machine. This may be an explanation of these stops, so if my suggestion didn t work
for, it is advisable to bring your machine to a local toshiba for fixing servicepartner.

    Welcome them

PS: This is an address where you can find a local servicepartner

    Hello

Try to connect the laptop to the external monitor to check if pictures or anything else appears on the second monitor?
You can also try to use the FN + F5 combination to check if the display will change back to the internal display.

But look, man, if you are not successful then I guess there must be a serious hardware problem and only the laptop technician might know what's wrong.

  • Satellite C660 shuts down after 3 seconds

Received my new laptop yesterday and during the installation of windows 7 (not exactly sure to what extent the installation process has been) the screen turned a clear gray color and has started flashing, I tried to turn it off by pressing power button for 7 seconds, but he wouldn't answer, I had to unplug the charger and remove the battery to the laptop.

Now, when I press the power button, the indicator light turn on, the cpu fan turns on and after 3 seconds it stops. I tried to put on about 100 times now, same result. Remove the RAM and HD makes no difference.

Pending support Toshiba to communicate with me, so I thought I'd try here and see if there was an easy solution.

    Hello

I guess that the Toshiba start screen does not appear at the beginning and you are not able to access the BIOS too. Right?
Looks like you had a bad luck from my point of view its something wrong with the motherboard.
But don t worry should guarantee all so either you could visit your retailer for laptop and ask for replacement (if possible) or you could get in touch with a Toshiba ASP in your country that could solve this problem.

    Good luck

  • Satellite L650 - Shut down but power stays on

    Hello

My L650 will not die. Windows stops but still power the laptop on I have left it all the night before and it still does not power off. The laptop is only 2-3 months old.

I have re-installed the OS (Windows 7 Pro 64-bit), using the recovery media, but the issue still remains.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Hey Buddy,

That means that the power is still on? Either only the power light on all current computer with a fan and black screen?

Such behavior can be generated if you connected to external devices to the laptop. I recommend to remove all external peripherals such as mouse, keyboard, printer, etc. and test it again.

  • Satellite P30: shutting down & overheating - easy solution

I read many comments on the P30 (and other models) stops unexpectedly. I came across this help forum. I followed the link below and disassembled my P30 completely, clean up a mountain of dust, lint and debris of cooling fans and heatsink heat etc., reassemble according to the instructions and hey presto!

My P30 now works like new. I recommend this to anyone with a screwdriver well-defined and brave enough to strip them of their laptop. (It is actually quite easy if you follow the step by step pictures) for me the entire operation takes 2.5 hrs.

A big thank you to all who posted help and especially for the guy who produced the photographic competition in this link.

    Hello

Thank you very much for your posting. I hope you have more fun working now on your P30. Two years ago I had old P20 and I did the same thing. After the cleaning procedure, the phone was like new. Extremely quiet and I really enjoyed working on it.

    Thanks again. :)

  • Shut down the system on satellite A30-141

    Hello

I have a satellite A30-141 and I install XP home, but when copying files, system shuts down...
I've changed the hard drive and the mem, the same problem...
    Any help?

    Thank you

Can you please explain this copy procedure specifically? Same thing happens when you play games?

Satellite A30 is old enough laptop model and it is possible that the laptop is dusty and when copying the material temperature reached the critical level.

    Good bye

  • SATELLITE A30: random suddenly shut down

Hi everyone, I finally had a problem on my laptop. While it is a bit of effort (the CPU works 80-100%) for 2 months it suddenly stop after a few seconds. He has worked for over 2 years and now I do not understand the reason for this strange problem. First of all I don't know if it's a hardware problem or a software one.
Please give me some advice cause I have yet to find any real solution.

    Thank you very much

    Gianni (Italy)

If you check this forum you will find a wide range of similar subjects and this problem is not strange. The sudden stop is mainly caused by overheating. Satellite A30 and Satellite 1900 are older units, and in my opinion, it is a time for cleaning.

Of course, the CPU of high activity cannot be properly cleaned and machine stops automatically before the CPU or other pieces of equipment can be damaged.

  • Satellite Pro A200-PSAE4E - computer laptop shuts down randomly

I've had my Satellite Pro A200-PSAE4E for about a year and a half now. He ran very well most of the time, but in recent months he has been stop itself randomly. There is no warning or "Windows is shutting down" he just me using my computer to a blank screen.

After frustrated with her, I did a full format my HARD drive and started from scratch. This does not solve the problem, and since then, the taskbar freezes. When I click on it I get the error and the hourglass cursor message "Windows Explorer is not responding... "I then have to click"restart", which makes the taskbar disappear for a few seconds before returning (usually without my sound icon).

The laptop turns off when it is connected to the electric network with & without the battery and when running only on battery, so I excluded all power problem.

I have considered it heats up too, but I use a block of cooling with built-in fans and has not himself in a few minutes after being hit not 24 hours, so I'm not sure that's the problem.

    Someone at - it ideas?

I am running WIndows Vista Home Premium 32-bit if that's any help.

    Thank you.

    > It worked fine most of the time, but in recent months he has been stop itself randomly.
    > There is no warning or "Windows is shutting down" he just me using my computer to a blank screen.

I think that the problem of overheating.
The fact is that the laptop would be down automatically stops in order to avoid that the pieces of equipment against damage.
In most cases this problem can be solved very easily. Using a jet of compressed air, you can remove the dust from the cooling modules and fans.
I clean my fans from time to time, because I noticed a higher temperature and the laptop was a little stronger.

    Check it out mate

  • Satellite M70-193 is shut down without reason

    Hello

I bought M70 - 193 in September 2006. There is no problem up to now. Since last week I have this weird problem, my laptop is shut down without any reason.

At first, he was shut down when I played in the game. But today, it shuts down every time. I tried to do something, and everything I've done is that there is a connect Toshiba power saver: an error code 0 x 0.

    Someone help me, please

    Hello

In my opinion your laptop must certainly have reason to turn off. According to the description of your problem my first property thereon is overheating. No one can say with certainty what is happening with your laptop here in the forum, but if you use your laptop in an intensive way, it is possible that the fan in the lower draw more than dust and now the dust blocks, cooling system. If you use your laptop on your lap cooling fan is blocked and material cannot be cooled properly.

Usually when the material temperature is too high, laptop turns off simply without any warning. Initially, try putting the laptop to the upper post (four books) to be sure that your laptop can take a deep breath and just see if laptop will run a bit more as before.

Anyway, it is not a solution and I think you should clean up your beautiful Satellite M70. Standby power is another issue and we can discuss it later. ;)
