Satellite A300 - 15 b - control keyboard

I touch type, but I'm having problems with my keyboard, is someone else suffers from something similar?
-The cursor jumps around the page, I'll be striking and then realize now, I type in a different area of the page
-Text suddenly remove in its entirety, this often happens when you write e-mails
-If I'm in a browser, I'll flip through several pages back
I am very careful not to lean on the touchpad, but the problem is not getting better. Are there any shortcuts on the keyboard that would achieve the above results?

Thank you

Hello

I use Satellite A300 almost 5 months now and I didn't notice this kind of behavior. No problem at all.
In the browser when you type BACK SPACE you will return to the previous page. I can't imagine you tap it all the time.

I think you type carefully, but please try to disable the touch pad using the FN + F9 key combination.
In any case, if you are 100% sure that there is something wrong, you must contact the nearest authorized service provider. With the help of special tools, they can check the functionality of the keyboard.
You know, here we can only speculate what may be the problem.

Let's see if anyone else has noticed the same thing.

Satellite A300 broken my number key 3.
Easy to fix but still Toshiba have charged me £43 to replace it with a new full keyboard.
It is less than 6 months old and still under warranty.

What an absolute joke, I wouldn't have another toshiba again.

    > What an absolute joke, I wouldn't have another Toshiba again.
Well, it is your personal opinion but I agree.

However, if you understand something about laptops so you'd know that the single button can not be replaced.
Only the CAP can be replaced but not the button on the keyboard, and thus the entire keyboard needs to be replaced!

In addition, the guarantee only covers hardware problems that are not caused by laptop user I n don't know why the button on your keyboard is broken (maybe you was your fault) but I think that you have contacted the ASP in your country and talked to the technician then why you didn't explain that it wasn't your fault?

In any case, the case should be clear now

  • Satellite A300 Linux fan control

    Hi all

I am running Fedora 9 (kernel 2.6.26) on my Toshiba A300 (T8100, 3 GB of ram). Almost every piece of equipment is running properly (except the radeon 3650 card, but that was expected and people working on a driver for him). Now the only issue I'm facing is the noise from the CPU fan. What is happening is that even if I keep the laptop voluntarily slowed for a long time (CPU activity is very low), the CPU fan continues to run during this period and is very noisy and very disturbing.

Usually the fan starts to turn (to 100% of its rpm, very strong) as soon as I start up the PC and does not stop. When I boot Windows Vista, the fan is behaving differently, that's starting to turn when there is a long period of heavy workload and then slows down and stops finally when the PC is idle.

I tried to use different Governors of CPU (Linux kernel drivers) as conservative and powersave, and nothing has changed. The noise is there, the fans are running * without * actually lower the temperature of the CPU (which is constant ~ 45 ° C when it is inactive), etc.

So any ideas, guys, on how I can correct this situation. Is there a tool to control the speed of the CPU to user-space fan? What is ACPI? Sensors? The computer phone is just a beautiful piece of hardware, but the noise of the fan is to kill the user experience all.

    Kind regards
    Ilyes Gouta.

I have no experience with Linux, but you could try and look for an alternative Linux of the programmable control of portable equipment (NHC) or operate using wine.
Also tried to get all the fixes or patches, but only found for other laptops.

Maybe some Linux forums might give you a better answer than me.

  • Satellite A300 - 21 c - impossible to adjust the brightness of the screen

    Hello

I am not able to adjust the brightness of my screen on my Satellite A300 - 21 c - control panel-> the menu options of power does not give me the opportunity to do, and my Fn keys do not work either (can't adjust the brightness).

The operating system is Win. XP Pro - SP2

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Hello

You can adjust the brightness of the screen using Toshiba Power Saver? With this tool, I can set the brightness of the screen for Macintosh (AC adapter) and normal (battery). I like it a lot because I can also put more options and you can download it on the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

For the FN keys on your laptop, you need the tools Toshiba you can find on the site of Toshiba, too.

How to put in place the Toshiba Satellite A300 infrared remote control?

I got a universal remote/infrared apple should work with all... but how to enable and configure the remote device from Toshiba?
I can not even find the place to activate infrared on my laptop.

Are you sure that what you're saying?

    > I got a universal remote/infrared apple should work with all
Please don't be crazy about me, but you should take it too literally. This all should have the infrared signal receiver (IR port). Please use s operating manuals and check if that port is available on your Satellite A300.

Following the logic of Apple it should also work with Ferro too. ;)

  • Re: Satellite A300-1EB: Toshiba & FN keys control buttons do not work on Win XP

I am a new user of laptops toshiba, so I bought this pc and I downgrade from Vista home premium to XP SP3 and I have the problem with the multimedia bar above my keyboard and I also have the problem with the function of the Fn keys.
I mean when I pres Fn button and some F1 to f12, nothing happens.

    Please please help?

    concerning

    Hello

Satellite A300-1EB belongs to the series of PSAG0E.
So please first select the right laptop series until you start to download the XP drivers.

After choosing the right laptop model, you need to reinstall the XP drivers.

The common Module and Hotkey Utility are required to achieve the FN keys work.
The common Modules must be installed first.

For the multimedia buttons works, you need to install the controls.
I didn t it find in the PSAG0E series, but in other series like PSAGCE A300. So check it out!

    Good bye

By the way: SP3 may cause some compatibility issues... then you should first remove all!

  • Satellite A300 - can not find a suitable FN & hotkey keyboard XP driver

Hi my laptop model is psag0a - 02100q... Yes, it sounds weird. It is quite rare, is in New Zealand.

Vista was annoying me so much with his wireless and compatibility so I chose this downgrade to XP...
now I'm having real problems with getting the key fn and these media keys IE. keyboard shortcut (keys background LED for windows media player) to work.

I installed all the compatible common modules and tried all kinds of utilities hotkey. The best result I got was to bring the ESC, the keys F1 to F7 working with the fn key, BUT I couldn't even control (wireless) F8, F9 (touchpad) and buttons in windows media player...

I'm getting so frustrated, someone please help!

    Hello

The Satellite A300 PSAG0A seems to be an Australian series laptop.

It seems that the Australian driver Toshiba page does not all drivers for XP at this time.

Usually, you should the common Modules to get the keys FN working on the Windows XP operating system.

The European driver Toshiba page provides some XP drivers for different A300 series.
If you wish, you can check if the common Modules released for another laptop A300 would run on your notebook in the series.

Maybe you are a lucky man, the application will run.

    Good luck

  • Satellite A300 - how to use wake up on keyboard functionality?

    Hi all

I have a Satellite A300-1ME and also a desktop PC intel 4 and I use a KVM (Keyboard Video Mouse) to control two computers with one keyboard & mouse. The kvm has PS/2 cables and is connected to the TOSHIBA by a PS/2 to the USB cable from the switch. The connection of the keyboard & mouse to the notebook computer is connected to a USB port. I use vista 32 bit on my laptop and XP on the desktop personal computer.

Now for my question, how can I use the keyboard to turn on the laptop closed (not the standby mode). I tried to do by choosing the keyboard HWSetup awakening and also, I checked the bios, to the keyboard 'waking up' option and he chose but still it won't start the laptop with the keyboard.

P.S if there is no way to turn on the laptop keyoard, then perhaps by pressing the dvd - rom. If someone knows how to do made me know

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

Operating instructions, I found the following information:
+ Wake up on keyboard: when this feature is enabled and that the computer is in mode 'sleep', you can activate the computer by pressing any key. It is effective only for the internal keyboard and only when the computer is in "sleep". +

Does that answer your question? ;)

  • Satellite A300 keyboard does not light

    Hello

I have a satellite A300 under Vista 32 Bit and there about a week, after doing some updates from Microsoft, the lights behind the keyboard stopped lighting upward. The light for the mouse pad and the media lights are all lit. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

Lighting is responsible for the light of the keyboard.
You could turn on and off lighting in the BIOS as well.

Why you don t access the BIOS and check what's happening if you enable or disable illumination in the BIOS?
    Select this check box.

On the other hand, the light button is controlled by a tool that is placed in the VAP (value added package). If the option in the BIOS doesn't help, try to reinstall the VAP.

I m not quite sure if a remote control is available for your notebook series but if it s is available, so you could order on a local ASP (certified partner).
If this part is not in stock, then the guys would be able to order it directly from Toshiba.

  • Satellite A300 - touchpad & keyboard issues

I have the same problem that a lot of people is faced with (PSAG8E - 05J00TEN Toshiba Satellite A300 - 21H). I'm sure that the touchpad is not disabled.
Clean installation of Windows VISTA - touchpad & keyboard half the time not work half the time. I'm sure this isn't a driver problem (if it doesn't not Device Manager said was a problem with the device..). I already tried 5 different drivers...

  • Satellite A300 and emulation of the FN keyboard keys

    Hello!

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A300-1tim: (PSAGCE).
I can't understand how I can emulate the FN key on the external keyboard!
Is there a way? Is this possible?

As far as I know that something like this is not possible. Utility Toshiba are designed for internal keyboard only.

  • Mousepad & keyboard do not work under Win7 on Satellite A300-1BZ

    Hello

I just installed Windows 7 on my laptop that is about a year now, but the mouse pad and keyboard do not work. No lights on the caps lock keys or anything either, the only way to get to work is to press the power button so that the laptop goes to sleep and then press it again to turn it back on, then wakes up the keyboard but the mouse pad still does not work.

I can plug in a USB mouse and it works, but I would prefer if the keyboard and the touchpad just would first work place! However if I restart the computer using the touchpad keyboard then suddenly works.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

I upgraded my Satellite A300 to Win7 and two works of features perfectly.
Did you upgrade or clean install of Win7?

To be honest, it's a little strange. I installed Windows XP Home edition, Vista and now Win7 on my A300 but the touchpad and the keyboard worked fine all the time.

Have you noticed this immediately after the departure of punch or later?

  • The use of symbols on the right keyboard on Satellite A300?

I have recently purchesed a Toshiba Satellite A300.
The details of the system are as follows:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T5850 2.16 GHz GHZ 2.17
Operating system: Windows Vista Home Premium 32-Bit.
    Memory Ram: 3.00 GB.

Anywho, it costs 879 Euro + shipping and handling. The problem is the keyboard. The keyboard language is set to English (United States). For who knows what reason, some of the keys are not their symbol/function/number designed.

For example, in order to make the symbol "@" I have to use the sequence of corresponding keys SHIFT + ','
    But when I press SHIFT + 2 I get "
I can't understand why, but I can not even operate. A large number of keys are out of whack. I have not hit what, I only got it more than a week. It cost me a lot, and I can't seem to find support. I got a technician to look at it, but he was unable to understand.

I tried holding SHIFT ALTGR and pressing INSERT and everything but nothing helps.

Please, I need to understand how can I ressolve this problem, I can't access one of my email accounts, because I can't understand what is wrong with the keyboard.

my email address is [email protected]

    Hello

The solution is simple. You need to change the keyboard to English UK language.
