Satellite A300-1GC - turn off when I play games

Hello

I try to explain my problem (I'll try because English isn't my motherlanguage wull so hards to ensure that you understand me Hi!).
Usually I use my Satellite A300-1GC also for two or three days (I watch divx on tv and other small applications, but nothing special) and never happened to me that yesterday was happing!

I installed a game (Jekyll & Hyde) and I played it with the pc cable hook up to electricity. After a while (I think only an hour) the computer turns off! After that was not possibel to turn it on nothing! No light was on the same battery icon nothing complitely dead! After about 10 minutes instead of the icons light was on and so I was able to restart the computer. Windows XP doesn't give me any error on the "blackout" reports the system. I restarted the game and play with him for about two hours without any problem! If you have something (hihihihi) understud my question is:

Whay you do that I can do so that this accident will not happen more? Is there some test or newspaper or something similar I can read to see if there is any hardware/software problems? May need a BIOS update? I mean, is there anyone who have the same laptop and have similar experience and sort it out with an update?
On short time I'm planing to install windows 7 (two DVDs I received from Toshiba) but first I must address this problem.

I thank the of in advance for help
Helen

PS: Once again at 11:36 the laptop shut down whenm I played :(

Hi Helen_1,

Usually, if the laptop shuts down during a game, it s caused by a higher internal temperature to protect the equipment.

I put t know how long you already have Satellite A300, but usually the laptop must be cleaned every 3 months using a jet of compressed air. You will find here in the forum how an article on this subject:

Also make sure that this new Toshiba Web site display driver is installed.

  • Qosmio X 70-A-10N turn off when I play the games

    Hello

I bought 2 months ago Qosmio x 70-a-10n with geforce GTX 770 M. I read everywhere that it is a computer game. Months ago, I installed F1 2013 and start it. After 20 minutes of play my PC just turn off and never again. (like this guy here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZmeMyu5Cto).

Can I send my PC to the service and then they change my motherboard (maybe). 1 week ago, I took the service and see that the computer still has a problem with the temperature. Early 2013 F1 for 5 minutes only and see with Speedfan, that the temperature of the GPU goes to 60 years and I stop the game, because that think the pc is overheating so it shuts off again.

If I want a pc for movies or on the internet, I'll buy another pc for less money. :((((
I am a little angry because I like to play games, but does not have this problem. What can I do to fix this? :((((((((

    Excuse me for my English!
    Thank you

Computers laptops Qosmio are offered by Toshiba for years. I don't know how long, but perhaps a dozen years and this laptop has been on the first day, designed for multimedia and games so that every Qosmio laptop has a powerful graphics card.
I don't really know what the problem with your machine and why this happens, but try it with different games and close down unnecessary applications before starting the game.

Use laptop on the desk and don't forget the laptop can be cooled properly. Temperature of 60 degrees is certainly not the critical temperature so you don't have to interrupt your game.

One question: are you using the original pre-installed OS that you got with your laptop?

  • Re: Satellite L300 - screen turn off when it will be moved

I have a problem with my screen stopping when I move my laptop or move the screen slightly. The computer does not turn off just the screen becomes black. I have to then hold the power button to turn off the computer.

Does anyone has any ideas or had this problem?

    Hi Geg,

You may notice this behavior on external monitor too?

For me, this looks like a hardware malfunction caused by internal display or just the cable. You should ask a technician for laptop help.

If only the cable must be replaced cheap s and takes a few minutes a technician for laptop.

  • Satellite A300 spontaneously turned off

    Hi people.

Hoping someone can confirm what I am already assuming that or possibly help me with something that I have not yet tried.
My daughters a300 is off spontaneously without reason apparent. Sometimes less than a minute or so but above all a few seconds now.

Weeks began by cutting only of now & again but it has far more common constantly where it stops almost immediately in most cases. Sometimes I can go as far as the Windows logon or a live cd/usb charge but 9 times out 10 now it is turned off during, before or after the post.
Before this stop so quickly these days that I assumed it was a Windows problem, but this is obviously not the case, I know now.

I had the machine open and cleaned that little dust he was. All fans work fine and I have aleardy swapped virtually all bars of the motherboard & CPU.
I tried to boot from the live Linux CD & USB without any connected main player and I also tried without the battery connected and I ran memtest on his memory in another corresponding A300, we have in addition to control his drive to find errors etc. They are all very good.

Don't really want to spend more than £100 for a new Board of Directors, if if there's a chance again, he might still be something else that I neglected to try.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Usually the laptop automatically stops due to a higher temperature.
If the temperature rises to a critical level, the laptop stops to prevent material damage.
This usually happens because that the cooling fans don't properly twist because of the dust.

But it seems that you have already cleaned the cooling modules and fans, so in this case the higher temperature may not be the problem. So it seems that there could be other reasons for this

Unfortunately, for me it s is not possible to say what role could be affected in the worst case, it could be a motherboard problem, but it could also be a RAM problem.

Control programs memory are ok, but the RAM modules could still work even if the memory test would detect all problems. So it of certainly worth it to use a new RAM.

  • Re: satellite A300 screen turns off after the toshiba logo, will not boot from the CD/DVD

Hello, I have this problem with Toshiba satellite A300.

I deleted several files and folders of my drives C and E. To restart the computer, it only shows the Toshiba logo then a slightly gray white screen on a thorough inspection. Whenever I press CRL + ALT + DELETE, the computer restarts and behaves in the same way.

I tried to use an external monitor, but there is no difference. The tent to start using a CD/DVD, same behaviour occurs, it does not start and screen remains blank after the Toshiba logo, I tried even to change g the order of boot, but in vain.

    What could happen?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

It seems that you deleted system files and Windows no longer starts. Have you tried to restore the disk image factory settings or hard drive recovery? Or do copy the Windows installation... It is easier to reinstall rather fix the problem.

  • Satellite L875-116 turns off when installing graphics driver

Computer laptop L875-116 was caught in the cycle of continuous reboot (last driver loaded CLASSPNP. (SYS). Retrieved HARD drive recovery, but laptop still caught up in the cycle of rebooting to the 6/49 - graphics driver.

Attempt to retrieve the DVD, new was wobbling at 6/49, but eventually got to 49/49 after three hours.

Error with Catalyst software reports of (the age AMD) and only runs pilot generic VGA.

When tried to update the driver PC gets stuck in the new cycle of rebooting.

If uninstalling driver update (F8, last known good configuration) that's the generic VGA driver running.

The thoughts if it is hardware or software related?

    (Windows 7, 64-bit)

    > Any thoughts if this is hardware or software related?

In my opinion its hardware problem.
Eventually he s a graphics card problem.

Usually the laptop should work correctly after or during the process of recovery if it s not the case, then basically a hardware problem is the troublemaker

  • Satellite M500 - Mouse pointer disappears when you play games online

I have a brand new, custom configured M500 form Toshiba. It has Windows 7 Professional Enterprise, 64-bit edition. Everything worked great until I spent a lot of money on the game Star Trek Online. When I go in the game, the mouse pointer disappears. I can see on the screen change action items when the mouse hover over them but no pointer. It makes the game difficult. Then I tried another game online, Free Realms, and I have the same problem.

I use a Logitech V220 Wireless mouse. I uninstalled the Logitech driver to see if that was the issue. I allowed Windows to use the default driver provided with the system. It does not work.

I called Toshiba and they had me remove the device and selected Windows generic driver for that. It works no more. The guy on the line said it would enter my service call and that she would go to a senior technician and they would call me within 24 hours. It has been two weeks and not a glance.

Anyone else has this problem or know of any other way I can try to solve it?

    Hello

To me that sounds like this, there is a problem (incompatibility) between this online game and your external mouse...
In your case I remove the mouse and uninstall the driver. Run CCleaner to clean the registry. Now try the touchpad online.

More update the display and DirectX as Al - eX driver already written.

  • My computer completely off when I play games it seems to get hot, it is usually not if I do other things. It's a Dell laptop vostro1000.

    Dell Vostro 1000

Ross is just cleaning and a cooling pad could help, but I have something to try before investing in a cooling block.

Locate your fan on the bottom of the computer (on of my roommate and my two different laptops, it is a small circular on the left vent, if you look at the keyboard – imagine under the "Q" key).  See if you can at least raise your laptop (use a cap of the bottle to a 1 liter of Mountain Dew or something!) so that he breathes for a quick game session.  See if it helps.  If so, do what said Ross and go take a cooling package!  Even the generic Targus chill pads are very good!

One thing to note: never do anything intense (like playing or watching movies) with your laptop on a bed, or with a blanket over my knees, etc... a blnket can really prevent its ability to circulate the air.

  • Satellite A500 - crashes and restarts when I play games

    Help, please

For these last months, I had a problem with my laptop crashing and restarting in 10-20 minutes from a game.

Please help, give me ideas or tell me how to find out what the problem is, I have read a few other discussions to talk about questions of heat but no real answer on how to solve the problem.

    Help, please
    Thank you
    D

    Hi Dale.Johnston,

Overheating would be a typical pattern of this behavior. I mean, that's if the laptop has a higher internal temperature and it will immediately fit to protect the equipment. Then it the normal behavior of s from overheating.

Overheating may have different reasons. In most cases it's dust that blocks the fan. This would mean that you have to clean the cooling system of your laptop using the jet of compressed air to blow the dust from the cooling fans.

Generally, it should help. If this isn't the case, I would check the display driver. What display driver and operating system you are using?
If you install the display driver Toshiba not they can also cause overheating if it recommendable s using Toshiba pretested drivers only. ;)
