  If you have reinstalled Windows Vista with the Toshiba recovery image and then you have the same problems, you should check your Satellite to an ASP (authorized service provider).
  I think that it s a hardware problem.

  I bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite A300-247 with Windows Vista Home Premium.

  Then I formatted it and divided the hard (320 GB) into 6 partitions and installed Windows Vista and Windows XP on drive C to drive D after having changed the SATA controller mode in the BIOS for compatibility. The computer worked well with 2 operating systems. However, when I updated the BIOS to version 1.9, two operating systems stop working and one of them can be installed: XP can be installed when SATA controller mode is placed on compatibility and Vista can be installed only when the SATA is changed to AHCI.

  Is there is no explanation of what past? And can I install operating systems 2 together again?

  First of all, I doubt that this has something to do with the BIOS update. I think that after the BIOS update HARD drive mode has been changed from AHCI to compatibility and therefore the OS didn't start.

  Anyway, in compatibility mode you can install Vista and XP without the SATA drivers. This should t be a problem.

  But do you know the difference between compatibility and AHCI? AHCI mode is faster and therefore I would recommend this mode.
  Like you said Vista you can already install in AHCI mode and for XP, you need Intel Storage Manager. This package includes the SATA drivers you need and here is a step by step guide to use these drivers:

  Last but not least, you can install 2 OS. You can do what you want! ;)

  If you don t have a recovery disk, you must order such a Toshiba drive directly to restore preinstalled Windows Vista with all the drivers and tools (factory settings):

  Tools and Vista drivers are not compatible with Win XP. If you want to install Win XP and want to use all the features of the laptop you must make sure that the Win XP drivers are available for this model of laptop.

  Satellite A300 PSAGCA seems to be an Australian model. The drivers are placed here:

  I think you forgot to install Toshiba value added Package this package contains the driver for these buttons (lighted) media where you can start Windows media player, for example.

  You should check the Web from Toshiba site again and search for VAP also indicated for Satellite A300. Download and install the package and after I restarted the lighted buttons should start working.

  It could be interference from program, first go into your software settings in your BIOS, go to security and disable secure boot. This can sometimes prevent update programs.   I am running Vista Home Premium and it used to install SP 1 not to mention all the others.  The short time the system even gave me a notice a few times that I was not running genuine Windows software even if it is enabled and varified authentic by Microsoft support. I had to install today and it restarts after installing 3 3 parts of the CIP of service. After the restart, he says that the update was not installed and there we reversed to where we started. Ouch, I'm a damsel in distress here!

  I suggest that you run the following tools and then try to install SP1.

  First to perform a clean boot on your PC.
  Run the disk error checking.
  Run System File Checker.
  Run the System Update tool.
  So if these tools did not report any errors, then install the SP1.

  I just found out that my computer didn't install all service packs Vista since I bought it.  I have X 86 Windows Vista and service pack 1 apparently need before I can update the others.  I tried to download this update but am getting an error code 100.  Did anyone know what I can do to update my Vista Home Premium because it drives me crazy now!

  Anyway, if you have installed has Vista visit the Toshiba support under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com page > support & downloads. You will find everything you need. Just choose your model of laptop.
