Satellite A300-23d - BSOD on start up

Hello

My name is Tom and I have a Toshiba Satellite A300-23d for about six months. Yesterday, I used a HDMI cable to attach my laptop to my LCD to play abit on a higher resolution. In addition, after a while the PC crashed and rebooted itself with an error appears on the screen.

I tried several times to reset and start it again no success at all. I get trying to boot my computer is:
First black screen windows recovery error, then regardless of the option I chose the blue screen appears.

Thanks for your time,

Tom

Hi Tom,

I searched a bit using Google and I founded a few interesting articles on this BSOD code 0 x 00008086.

It seems that the only solution for this problem is Toshiba Recovery disk now. I mean normally repair option would also be my first choice, but if you get a blue screen too, you don t have other options now.

Then enter the Toshiba Recovery disk and boot of it. It can restore factory in a few minutes. Don t forget your whole HARD drive will be erased.

Good luck! :)

  • Satellite A300-23d needs too long to start

    Hi all

    I have a Satellite A300-23d.
The problem is that it takes too much time on the login screen 'Please wait '.

I did try the recovery since the DVD and start the system, but still have the same problem, and diagnose the startup has not detected any problem.

    Can someone please?

    Hello

I think I could help you
I had the same problem with my laptop. The start-up procedure is too long (about 3 min).
I have updated the Tempro software and disabled some background processes in the MSCONFIG Startup tab.

This has helped to decrease the boot time of one min.
I think it's very good improvement.

  • Question of graphics 3D Satellite A300-23d

I bought a Satellite A300-23d about 4 weeks ago. I use my laptop for graphics and the game. I used it with no problems at all during the first 2 weeks. But later, during the game Anno 1404 suddenly some scattered polygons and textures purpleish appeared. I thought it is the result of the game. But I started to see these artifacts in all games. Now, I can't yet play 3D games on my pc. After you start a game, I see a yellow-red-purple checkered kind on my screen and polygons get spiky.

It looks like a hardware malfunction. Because I tried the update of drivers and hard drive recovery. It is getting worse day after day. Windows works perfectly fine (except that I got approximately 4 BSOD) but I can't play 3D games! What can I do? The only solution I think it gives for repair. I get the objects even when you play with powerplay (underclocked). It is not a heat problem. And if you ask, I'm not overclocking my laptop. With the help of stock parameters.

    Hello

BSOD is a sign of hardware or software problem and eventually it s related to the GPU question
If the new OS didn't install help, I'd recommend contacting the guys of ASP.

    Good luck

My Satellite A300 sometimes fails on start when displaying a logo of Toshiba.
    I don't know why. Y at - it a touch to show a p.o.s.t. tests?

    Sorry for my English.

    Hello

You can change in the BIOS the option to boot from normal to fast.
I think that this will disable the Red Toshiba log and show you the post screen.
But to be honest, I don't know if this could be help full.
In any case, if the laptop is unable to pass on the MESSAGE, something might be wrong on the motherboard; the modules, memory example or similar

  • Satellite A300-23d and memory upgrade

    Hi all

I want to upgrade my laptop memory 4 GB to 6 or 8, I got the Satellite A300-23d.

What is the best memory for me? I'll get the Win7 64 bit OS
I understand I have to do a clean install of the operating system, so my 2 Q is where can I get all the programs of Toshiba I got with the pc?

    Thannks for the help

    Hello

Up to 8 GB of RAM according to specification for laptop computer, you can upgrade.
You must use the RAMs 1 GB / 2 GB / 4 GB DDR2 800 MHz. If you 2x2gb for now, you can buy 4 GB of RAM additional or maybe two of them to use maximum RAM.

Module of RAM of 4 GB compatible a part PA3670U-1M4G number.

Win7 drivers download page you will find under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/windows7_drivers.jsp
Unfortunately for your models PSAGCE drivers are not available for the moment. I'm sure that the pilots will be ready for download in the next few days. From time to time to check this page and you will see when drivers will be there.

  • Satellite A300-23d - can I he move to Windows 7?

    Hello

I got by Satellite A300-23d and I was wondering if it can work with Windows 7 (I think it can, but must make sure). More importantly if I will put on my Vista Home Premium level throw the Toshiba upgrade plan I could get Windows 7 Professional?
And when I update all Toshiba programs will always be on the PC and still work?

    Any help would be great!
    Thanks in advance!
    Shaked

    Hey mate,

I agree with Akuma. You can use the upgrade feature, but you will get the same version as before. AFAIK most Satellite A300 were shipped with Vista Home Premium and then you will also get Windows 7 Home Premium. In my opinion for home use that s enough and under Vista, all versions of Windows 7 already contains the Windows backup feature. If you want professional or ultimate edition, you must purchase a copy of it.

And why your A300 shouldn't t works with Windows 7? I mean if Toshiba sells this option of upgrade on some models they will be definitely supported. ;)

  • Satellite A300 intermittently does not start

    Hello

to help you with the A300 which sometimes (recently more often) just won't start/start?
I run my A300 battery, when I press the power button / stop

    (1) fun begins
    (2) ' satellite' logo on the lower left corner will blink
    (3) drive HARD diode flashes
    (4) display lights even for a while
    (5) lightning touchpad stays off
    (6) it will continue like this for always (no activity except fan)

After a few hard reboots can occasionally start, he's absolutely perfect job.
    Any ideas?

    Thank you very much!

On this virtual path, it is not possible to say with certainty what the problem. For two weeks, I have similar problem on my A300. He won start t at all. Power LIGHT blinks two or three times and that's all that happens.

At first, it happened only sporadically, but now there is no other reaction. In my view, this is power of electronic card.
On your A300, it may be the same.

  • Satellite A300-1MV slow slow start-up and ongoing execution place

I recently bought a Satellite A300-1 mV it runs vista,.
I have the trial running Mcafee and other preinstalled software that came on the phone. My problem is that the startup of the computer seems to take a ridiculous amount of time to start, once past the ORB of vista, that it says please wait which lasts about a minute until the password request is displayed.

I had a quick glance in the problemreports in the Panel and concluded that the program of toshiba tempro was hung up at startup so disabled but doesn't seem to have any effect, I also find that when for example you double-click a photo thumbnail to view it, it takes about 30 seconds to appear on the fullscreen allthough, the window appears on the start menu to the low allmost bar immediately.

I defragmented the hard drive, scandisk, memory checking, virus check etc... I compared it to a friends laptop dell which has less memory, but the same processor spec and vista and that seems to work 10 times faster... any ideas?, I wonder if it is a program of toshiba at the origin of the problem.

However, I have a problem with acrobat reader from opening on its own and telling me it can't read the file (do not know what file)

I uninstalled it and reinstalled but still have the same question...! Help!
    See you soon

    Hi shaked,.

Could you be a little more detailed, please?
When this happens exactly, and you notice a consistency to a specific program or something else?

Maybe your laptop must be cleaned using the jet of compressed air

Otherwise, check for yellow exclamation marks Device Manager. BSOD is often related to the drivers and also check the RAM with Memtest86.

  • Satellite A300-1EG - does not start

I have problem with my laptop A300.

I bought a new drive SSHD and after mounting, the laptop starts more :( I mean, fans work, lights are bright but the screen is black and nothing happens.

I want to emphasize that I accidentally deleted a few screws marked on the picture (at the time, I thought that this drive is around here somewhere) but I put them right where they were--> http://www.elektroda.pl/rtvforum/files-rtvforum/hgffdfdhfd1119_185514_6cab0d9.jpg

I tried to run with/without battery/power, I tried holding down the power button / stop, I tried 0 + power, ESC + power etc. Still nothing. Any ideas?

On this photo is visible to your A300 has two covers of HDD with space for two hard drives but HDD/SSD can be used in one slot (primary). As you can see in the second slot (where you marked the screws) there is no HARD drive connector, and this crack will remain empty because you cannot use the second hard drive.

I don't know why you deleted these screws. There is no reason for this. Anyway, when you put the original HARD drive in the right place can you raise your laptop?

  • Satellite A300-259 does not start on windows

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba A300-259 and I have problems trying to get into windows.
When I try to start my laptop, it would remain on the screen of the Microsoft logo with no response. I tried to use the HDD recovery procedure (link below) but if the screen jumps just to load Microsoft. I tried also security mode, but when it finishes loading all the drivers it just freezes.

Is that what I can do before purchasing a toshiba recovery media disk?

    HARD drive recovery procedure

    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm

    Hi mate

Well, if you didn t create a recovery disk previously, you must purchase a new recovery disk.

If the Windows operating system starts not using safe mode or normal mode and if the HDD recovery procedure does not start then I n t see other options for you to try the recovery disk.

  • Satellite A300-211 - failed to start the recovery disk creator

I just installed ultraiso program, when I opened the toshiba recovery disc creator this message appears

    An unexpected error has occurred.
exit this application and start it again.
    (error code: 0D00F6-26-00000015)

with an option only ok when I press on it, it seems once again, when I press ok for the second time, it disappears and the program runs. What can I do to stop this?

Note: I had the same problem with the program of poweriso

    my lap is an A300-211

    Hi mate,

Can you please tell us what is happening if you uninstall the program ultraiso? To be honest, ths program isn't known to me, I never heard of this.
    Then try again please.

In the worst cases, you need to start recovery disc option HARD reinstall Windows. Then you should be able to create the recovery media. The HARD drive recovery process, I founded this:

    > im sure it is a problem of graphics as my minidumps say that 'DirectX Graphics Kernel' is the cause of the BSOD.

I'm not very well if the BSOD is caused by the graphics driver compatibility issue but in general the driver of Toshiba page should not cause BSOD m
Anyway, there are a few 3rd party pages where you can download updated drivers the: laptopvideo2go.com or omegadrivers.net
But do not know if these drivers work correctly

Another tip: I've read that some people could solve the BSOD problems by changing the resolution of the screen and disabling the Aero theme try this out... you may notice some improvements
