  It is not easy to say what the problem is here. I have too many Satellite A300 and since last week, I use Win7 too.
  On my laptop, everything works perfectly.

  First of all, I doubt that this has something to do with the BIOS update. I think that after the BIOS update HARD drive mode has been changed from AHCI to compatibility and therefore the OS didn't start.

  Anyway, in compatibility mode you can install Vista and XP without the SATA drivers. This should t be a problem.

  But do you know the difference between compatibility and AHCI? AHCI mode is faster and therefore I would recommend this mode.
  Like you said Vista you can already install in AHCI mode and for XP, you need Intel Storage Manager. This package includes the SATA drivers you need and here is a step by step guide to use these drivers:

  Last but not least, you can install 2 OS. You can do what you want! ;)

  I followed the steps for all updated and I'm having a problem more.
  I'll give you as much detail as possible! I created a boot disk for windows xp and used nLite to get my all the SATA drivers properly installed.
  Luckly, I did everything correct and everything went well after that.

  So windows xp installation completed my computer restarted and I was super happy!
  I arrived at the loading screen (one where theres a search bar and it saids windows xp 64-bit, the thing just before u sign) and it just freezes there and then my computer just restarts.

  I then tried safe mode with networking Mode and it didn't work. But then I tried with normal Safe Mode and it worked!

  After getting into safe mode, I tried to install different drivers for my computer then restarted and still does not work.
  Can someone help me with the problem?

  For some reason it doesn't pick up evey key STROKE. It is very well when using office however applications. It seems to be possibly related to the fan constantly on.

  Online games run slowly also.

  I bought an air duster can but not much came out of the box fan, so the solution suggests everyone is custody here for fan questions has not helped, the fan is still noisy and it took me ages to this type.

• AirPlay has stopped working after several months of STR DN850

  My Sony STR DN850 has worked perfectly with AirPlay for 8 months. When you use iTunes on my iMac or my Mackbook pro, I just need to play a song, and my receiver turns on and play the song. Now the small speaker selection box at the top of the window of my iTunes isn't even - probably because iTunes is not picking up an Airplay compatible device. I use Mac OS on Mac 10.9.5.

  Here is what I tried:

  1. check if I need a firmware update for my DN850 STR (I have not).

  2. repair permissions on Mac played.

  3. disconnect and restart the cable modem, router, Macs and DN850 STR. I have them all at the same time, reboot in order the cable modem, router, DN850 STR, and Macs.

  I don't see how something that worked perfectly for 8 months can suddenly stop working. I can't help thinking that there is a simple solution here, and I'm going to go for not realizing it. However, for now, I'm stuck and any help would be greatly appreciated.

  It's official: I'm a fool. I went through all the steps above again and this time it worked! I suspect that restarting the network was the culprit.
