No, it won't. You will receive a message like, low space available on C, but you can move the files/folders to local d manually. Remove the unnecessary stuff from local c

Yes, you need to reinstall the SATA drivers or you will go to BIOS and set the SATA from AHCI mode to compatible.

  • Satellite A300-1J1: cannot use F8 to start the HARD drive recovery process

I just brought a laptop Toshiba Satellite A300-1j1, and at the same time got the upgrade to Vista Ultimate disk at the same time.

Straight out I went to a sweet upgrade to Ultimate, which failed, and restored in Premuim laptop.

Stupidly I immediately then a hard install to ultimate who "worked", but of course the drivers to run the laptop has not been installed, I decided to go back to factory settings and try to get Ultimate again once.

However to use F8 at startup is does not give me the option to restore, and since, I've learned that I should do a set of recovery discs, which I did not.

Installation, the data is still on the disk 'E', so is anyway I can always use it to make these discs or what should I do?

    Thank you for your help,

    It's your biggest mistake.

There is nothing you can do to create recovery DVDs. If you want to have the original recovery DVD you must buy it.

  • Satellite Pro P100 PSPAHE: How can I replace the HARD drive

I have not found any documentation about the replacement of the engine on my Satellite Pro 100 PSPAHE.
How can I physically remove the disk?
And my Device Manager indicates that the drive is a Fujtsu MHV2200BT PL ATA. What, PL, sounds like parallel - I thought it was a SATA drive.

    Hello

This laptop was equipped certainly SATA HDD :)
If you want to upgrade to a larger HARD drive and a SATA HDD is right!

The slot in the HARD drive seems to be placed at the bottom of the unit near the edge of the laptop.
To remove the disc HARD turn the computer upside down.
Loosen the 2 screws and remove the cover of the HARD drive during the liberation of the locks.
Remove the HARD drive cable connector HARD drive. Be sure to not reach
damage to the connector. Place the mounting of the HARD drive on a flat surface and remove the 4 screws.
Then drive HARD is free one may be replaced by a new one.

  • Satellite Pro A40: Is it possible to format the HARD drive without disk

I am passing on a Satellite Pro A40 to a brother. It is in very good condition, but has slowed down over the years. I want to get rid of my data (I have on a new machine) and speed up the system by formatting the hard drive.

The machine didn't come with a disc for Windows XP, or a recovery CD (just a CD "tools and utilities"). I'm sure the drive HARD will be partitioned, and I can format the drive without such a disc.

If this is true, how should I do?
    Thank you.

    Hello

I can't believe that you do not have recovery media.
The laptop must be supplied with recovery CD, Tools & Utilities CD, and WinDVD.

    But back to your question;
If you insert a new HARD disk, you will need to use the Toshiba Recovery CD or the original CD of Microsoft Windows to install the operating system.
The new drive is not partitioned HARD and doesn't have any OS pre-installed!

If you n t have the original CD of Microsoft OS you can contact the service provider allowed in your country and you can order it.

    I hope I could help

  • Satellite P200-1EE Possible to recover data on the HARD drive by placing it in an envelope?

P200-1EE does not start after 2 weeks off is the case during a fan installation. Is it possible to remove the hard drive, put it in an enclosure and retrieve the data it contains on another PC? Or can anyone recommend how to recover data from the comfort of my own home?

    Thanks for your help

I would say that your installation of fan caused this problem in the first place. I would check your installation for loose connectors, cards not seated properly, no fan or heatsinks screws tight etc..

Everything you did everything by installing the new fan plugged the laptop. The hard disk, in my opinion, is perfectly fine. There is nothing wrong with it.

Put the suspect hard drive in an enclosed and try to access the data on another PC. You will encounter problems with administrator access to certain folders so you will need to find a way to crack in these areas.

If you had problems in the first place you probably should have this return to the place of purchase for them to watch.

I hope that for your sake you have not turned into a frisbee.

    Good luck.

    Hello

Check your cable connections. If necessary check with the manufacturer of the motherboard System Support
    and Seagate Support.

Make sure that settings/settings (BIOS/CMOS) often F2 that you start the computer is configured to start at

  • Can satellite A300 - 15 k (PSAJ4E) - I add a second HARD drive?

    Hello

I have Toshiba Satellite A300 - 15 k (PSAJ4E) and my question is, can I add second HARD drive? Now, I have a HARD inside drive, Hitachi 250 GB, 5400 RPM. is there a place for the second HARD drive?

I want to buy some 2.5 in 7200 RPM, thx in advance.

    Hello

Check the bottom of the unit.
There should be a second HARD drive Bay.
If the second HARD drive bay contains the pins of the connector HDD/then you could add a second HARD drive 2.5 SATA.
If the connector is not available, then the second HDD is not possible.

  • Satellite A300-15 b: how to burn image of HARD drive recovery & need drivers Win XP

    I bought a laptop 15 b A300, and it comes with win Vista pre-installed
I want to change my OS to Win XP.
After searching this forum, I noticed that I have to make a backup of the original Toshiba Recovery DVD.

I found the file back on E:\HDDRECOVERY.
Now is - anyone can help with «How this DVD»

I mean if I burn the file as it is it will be bootable?
I have to use an image burning software, or drug & drop work?

Drivers are available for Win XP?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello

You can burn and create the own Vista recovery DVDs using Toshiba recovery disc creator software.
It s preinstalled on your laptop.

Please check the desktop shortcuts or folder on the C:\ Program Files

The Toshiba recovery disc creator will burn the image of Toshiba.
I also recommend the use of DVD-R discs, some people have an error message when burning because of DVD disc is not compatible.

  • Satellite A660 - 1 H 7 - How to replace the hard drive and reinstall Windows 7

    Hi all

I'm frequently getting warnings about the health of my hard drive and while it is not catastrophic, I've been umming and ahhing (?) on the replacement of an SSD in the future anyway so thought it was a good excuse.

My real question is, what the procedure is perfect (or greater) for Windows 7 migration to the new drive? I think I want a default installation because this laptop has had so many programs installed/uninstalled it's probably a bit of a mess.

I have created 4 recovery DVD disks but have seen on the net they don't work and that download an ISO with the vignette product key can work either. I can't really afford interruption much (or all) so I try to do it safely and securely as possible!

Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks for your time,.
    Scott

    > what the procedure is perfect (or greater) for Windows 7 migration to the new drive?

I think the fastest solution is the use of the recovery disk that you created using the recovery media creator Toshiba. I don't see a reason why it should not work as part of a new SSD.

    I also have another recommendation.
You can create an image of your current HDD (partitions) using internal Windows 7 Backup and restore
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/backup-and-restore

After using the recovery disk, you can use the created image to get the current status.

  • How can I fix a corrupted file cmd.exe and what I do to format the hard drive will that solve my problem and then what I do

One of my computers has a virus and I'm ready to reformat the drive if I know what to do when I try to go to the command prompt, I get the cmd.exe message is corrupt.

You could try to copy the cmd.exe file from another XP computer to yours.  It is usually located in the C:\Windows\System32 directory. (Save your current file first, however)  Otherwise, try to start the command-line like this:
    Start-> Run-> "command."
Note that this should appear "command.com" which is different from the "cmd.exe" (but looks like).

If you try to reformat the drive to reinstall Windows, simply boot from your Windows XP installation disc and launch the installation.  A reformat is a normal step in a new installation of Windows.

  • Satellite A300 and Centos Linux - EHCI: transfer of the BIOS didn't 01010001

    Hello

    I have a laptop Toshiba A300 - 211 PSAGCE.
It has 32-bit Vista as the operating system.

Now, it is dual bootable Centos linux with Vista and it does not start in Centos, displaying the message "EHCI: transfer of the BIOS has not (bug BIOS?). 01010001 "and it restarts automatically, without any statement by me. "Reboot" again and again.

The same problem appears when loading windows 7 or windows 8. With windows vista, only it doesn't have problem. The only problem with Vista is that Skype does not recognize my toshiba webcam.

My bios version is 2.2, and unfortunately, the TOSHIBA support site does not support the model of mylaptop with another more recent version of the bios. I tried to load the new version of the bios of other Toshiba A300 model, but my phone does not support the flash BIOS.

Please help me! It is very important for my work to solve this problem.

I wait anxiously for any help or idea or a new version of the BIOS.

    Kind regards

Please give me a solution as soon as possible because I can't work!

    Thank you very much.
