Satellite A300 overheated

I have two problems.

1. After installing windows 7 ultimate my A300-1eg started to overheat and shut down.
I know that BONES don't influense if laptop overheating or not, this nut the problem I have.

2. I have taken stuff on HARD drive what program should I use to writing on DVD and recover factory settings, pre-installed Vista OS ond so on?

Thank you.

Hello

Your laptop has started to overheat after the installation of Win 7?
Have you noticed the same problem using Toshiba pre-installed OS?

What graphics card drivers did you use running Win 7?
Toshiba graphics card driver should be used as such driver supports protection against overheating. The chart control the GPU performance and the use of non-Toshiba drivers heat dissipation can lead to a higher temperature and overheating

With regard to the second question.
Usually the recovery disc creator Toshiba was preinstalled on your laptop that allows you to create the recovery DVD this application must be used to create such recover disk

If you didn t create this recovery disk and if you have formatted the partition where Vista is installed, then you will not be able to recover the device to the factory settings

In this case, you will need to order the disk recovery from here:

    Hello.

My Satellite A300 got recently repaired from the Toshiba official represent in my hometown of Portugal. The problem was overheating, as usual. They understood the problem, it was dust and the radiator was malfuncion. They have changed the radiator and I paid 184,5 as a repair bill. When I got home, the problem still remained, and it seems worse.

When I start a game, like world of warcraft, for example, the graphics card will of constant 50 degrees to 100 to like 10 seconds, and then the laptop stops.
Someone could point me in the right direction and could they be scamming?

I mean, I paid to solve the overheating problem, but they have not solved. Next Monday, I'll see what they had to say. Should I pay for another repair (repair minimum is 80, even if anything needs to be repaired).

PS: Just in case where, is my graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650.

PS2: Sorry for the bad English, I'm Portuguese :)
    Thanks for reading this.

    Hello

Theoretically it could also be a software problem if the laptop is overheating. I had the same problem because I installed display drivers not Toshiba and they had different thermal management so the laptop was overheating. I removed this display driver and installed the new Toshiba display driver and the problem was gone, because these drivers are designed and pre-tested by Toshiba.

Otherwise I would also contact the ASP and check what they say. ;)

    Hi Vilus

During the long period of use, the cooling modules may be blocked by dust.
This would prevent air from traffic and could lead to a higher temperature.
I have experience with such behavior cell phone because this happened to my two different notebooks from different manufacturers.

The cooling modules couldn t run with the best performance because of the dust and I was forced to use a jet of compressed air that has helped remove a lot of dust and debris.
I blew air through the vents and fans and I was really surprised how much dust was hidden inside the laptop.

In any case, after this procedure accelerated, the temperature went down and laptop didn t stopped automatically.

    Hello

has taken delivery of a 2nd hand (use of the lamp) A300-1hv... whenever I run whatever whether in intensive the laptop overheats and stops.
Fan speed shows all cores clocked at 65 c with normal use... and running Nero or similar it pierces upward and it dies on me...

Now, I managed to understand the power of Vista (finally) settings and assured that he was on a maximum cooling but she still dies...

    Here are my questions

    1. how strong is the fan on these things, I can bearly hear mine all the time and never hear a difference?

    2. is there any application able to handle this better?

    3. someone else has this problem and found a solution

    4. it's less than a year even though I'm not the original owner is still valid warranty for me?

Thank you for taking the time to read this and thanks for your replies

Before you do something, you should try to clean the laptop first using a jet of compressed air. This could blow the dust from the cooling fans then.
You can buy this from a local computer dealer.

Clean from time to time my laptop and I can confirm that the jet of compressed air is very helpful and easy to handle.
Try it and the laptop will not overheat again.

  • Satellite A300 - overheating and sudden death

Hey there! So the problem with the sudden closing of my laptop has bothered me for the last 6 months. I did not understand why it happened. But now, I think I can.

As soon as I start watching movies or high quality youtube and if I do this as 20 minutes, the laptop can crush! Only, it gets really hot, and there is nothing I can do about it. However, if I put a fan beside her, she will continue to work normally. Otherwise > overheat and BOOM! : D

Is this a known issue? Is it the same for other portable series? Thank you.

  • Satellite A300-211 - ACPI overheating

    Hello

Recently my laptop overheating to frequently. I had this problem before and I bought the cooling package and everything was fine. But now, despite the external cooling device he stil stops. I run SpeedFan to see what is causing this problem. Two hearts runs at an acceptable temperature. But there is that this thing called ACPI - Temp1. Exactly what is it? I used compressed air to clean fan and what I was able to clean with keyboard just disassembled.

I do complete the cleaning? And last question. Is this fan the only source of cooling in my netbook
I mean it's the only thing I should replace if cleaning does not work?

Friend of mine has a similar problem with Satellite A300. Problem was overheating and suddenly switch offs. I disassembled the laptop and cleaned the area of cooling fan and cooling rack. It was full of dust and cooling rack was blocked by dust.

After cleaning laptop was able to catch his breath and he has worked quietly and without compromise.
I imagine that your laptop is also full of dust and must be cleaned but not using compressed air. Believe me, it must be disassembled cleaned in professional way.

I must also say that the disassembly can be dangerous if you do it yourself. Something may be damaged so maybe you shouldn't do it yourself. Try to find someone who can do it for you.
Accredited maintainer can do for you also but I can't say how much it costs. Contact and ask how it works.

I also overheating, blacken and freezing problems.

    Hello Teresah

I wonder really after that 10 months you did nothing to solve this power plug the question.
Why don't you contact the nearest Toshiba authorized service provider? I guess that laptop has guaranteed valid and these issues can be fixed for free.

Be careful with this stuff power and contact the service as soon as possible. I don't know where you live but the complete list of all authorized Toshiba service providers you can find on the Toshiba support page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > download & support > find an ASP.

With the service guys, you can also discuss abut all other issues you mentioned in this announcement.
I am also owners A300 and use my laptop about a year now. I use my laptop every day for my work and it runs more than 8 hours a day. So far, I did not notice any hardware or software problem. I ve defined the parameters of power management the balanced diet combined with the minimum level set in the cooling method option. Laptop runs quiet and, at the same time, has enough power for my daily activities as Internet, office applications and Skype.

It is not easy to say what the problem with your laptop, but I recommend you contact the closest service Toshiba and to clarify these issues.

  • Satellite A300 - temperatures and overheating

    Hey there

I own Toshiba Satellite A300 for a year. Lately, I've noticed overheating.

Idling, the temperature the lowest I measured using HW Monitor was 60 ° C for the processor, 50 ° C for the GPU, 42 ° C to the HARD drive. When I have several applications open, it amounts to 83 ° C for the processor and 62 ° C for GPU, during execution of system witch is quite slow. Lower part of the housing is very hot same keyboard is hot and she is uncomfortable.

Any idea where might be a problem? Should I put it in service? Thanks for the replies.

    Andrew

    Hello

You don't have to send it to an authorized service provider, you need to clean your laptop anytime!

I have recommended the jet of compressed air. Blow gently and shortly the depression of the air holes of the case of the machine where the hollow air flows. This could eliminate the dust from the cooling fans.
This procedure should be done every 3-4 months to ensure reliable operation and avoid the mistakes of the system.

I've always used compressed air jet and I never had problems yet.

    Good bye

  • Satellite A300 keeps overheating

I bought my Satellite A300-09Y year last at the same time as 2 friends
and we seem to all be confronted with the same problems
I use my laptop for games, I rarely even use it for video clips.
It's mostly just for study purposes, but for some reason any
He just guard overheated and the circuit breaker is triggered every 20 minutes if I don't raise
If I raise, it will last up to 35 minutes.
I am very worried because once I left it on a plastic table mat and he ended up reshaping of the carpet
which is used to protect the table of bins in a hot oven.

How can I solve this problem?

I have Satellite A300-1LI almost 2 years now and use it everyday for my job.
It is pre-installed with Windows XP Home edition and Win7 (dual boot) and so far I didn't notice this problem.

If you use it for daily work, I recommend to use the balanced power plan, turn off all unnecessary background processes and make sure that the laptop is placed correctly on the table. Ventilation cooling down must be free and your laptop should be able to take a breath.

Make sure that the cooling on the bottom grid is free. You can also try to place the back side on two books or CD boxes to make the distance between the office and the bottom side of your laptop a little higher.

What you can also do is to clean the cooling rack. After a year of use I can imagine the dust inside and she can also mobile blocks cooling process.

    Hello

It sounds like this dust is in the heat sink and your laptop should be cleaned using the jet of compressed air. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans. You can get air to each computer dealer normally stream.
    Check this box!

I clean my cell phone every 3-4 months and I m always asked how much dust out. I think that s important to clean but it only takes a few minutes. :)

  • Satellite A300 - Windows 7, causing overheating

    Hey all,.

I have an A300/y01 toshi (psagca - 02y010) and that you have recently upgraded to windows 7 64-bit, since the upgrade, I was unable to find a toshiba power saver, which is compatible with win 7, and my pc is a lot hotter then he did a few days under vista, I was in power and configured options plan of power for maximum performance in heating tho is unchanged. also when I turn the pc on the fan does not seem to do his spin test as fast as he did.

There is still the hot air from the vent on the left and has not extinguished because of excessive heat, tho have not heard the fan out like before and laptop base and hand rests become much warmer, then they have never before.

Have been to a few different forums that suggest different things like fan.exe tho other comments I've read it does not seem to recognize the fans of toshiba, plan ripping off the base in the next few days and by checking the dust build up, although this may explain the high heat does not explain why the fan works differently under the new operating system and why heat jumped up so much coinciding with the change.

If someone has any suggestions pls help!

I have European Satellite A300-1LI, and last week, I installed Win7 as any new install, no updates.
I must say that the laptop works well and I did not notice much of a difference to Vista. Laptop runs pretty quiet. I must also say that my laptop is supported with Win7 and I installed Win7 VAp, which includes Toshiba power saver.

Have you checked the Toshiba download page to your country? Your model of laptop is fully supported for Win7?
Try to use the balanced power plan. Performance will be reduced but also CPU and graphics activity and I presume that laptop will not heat so much as under high-performance power management where the material is required to perform to maximum.

If the Toshiba power saver is installed on your laptop you can find it on the same place as on Vista. Here you can change the parameters for the method of cooling.

  • Re: Satellite A300-1 MB - processor overload

I have a problem with the processor for some time now, first I thought the virus but the reinstallation of the Windows Vista Home premium I have the same problem.

The processor overload even if I play a basic flash game. The same thing with Warcraft 3 and Fifa. Why? I have a Toshiba Satellite A300 - 1 MB T5800 2.0 GHz Centrino. 3 G of RAM Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family as a display driver

    Hello

Have you installed a different display driver? I had a similar problem with overheating and the reason was the display driver. After that, I installed the latest version from the Toshiba site and everything worked properly again! :)

In addition, I would recommend Notepad using compressed air cleaning spray. This could blow off the dust and it s not necessary to disassemble.

  • Satellite A300 turns off

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite A300 (for about 3 years now) and tonight he turned off his car. It would be most time cause of overheating and would finally restarts, but not tonight. It simply displays an icon of the battery at the front about 6 times - then nothing. I tried already out the cord of the battery and the charger, press the switch & 30 seconds and it does not work.

It might be useful to mention that for a while now, when the charger is unplugged the laptop would turn directly to the output.

What I need to know is, it sounds like I need a new charger or a battery?

For me, this looks like faulty power electronics.

Can you use laptop on the power supply only when the battery is removed?
