Satellite A300 PSAG4A: Webcam not detected in Device Manager

I have a Toshiba Satellite A300 PSAG4A 02L00M with Vista Home Premium 64-bit.
The webcam is not working and it is not detected in Device Manager.
When I install the Chicony camera drivers, I get the "Webcam driver open fail. Error message.

The fact that I can't see the Webcam in Device Manager tells me that there may be a hardware failure.
However, I hope that this is a setting that I can fix myself.

I had restored the laptop to factory also and I've updated the bios.
I tried to uninstall all the USB controllers and reboot the PC.

Is there something I can do?
It's maybe a software problem?
There may be a setting?

Best way to test the operation of the equipment is to check with the factory settings installation operating system with the Toshiba recovery image. As I see that you have done this already.

So if cam still doesn't work properly, I fear that there is a problem with the hardware.
It cannot be matter of software because the recovery image contains the driver for the cam.

    Hello team HP,

I just bought HP Probook 430 G2 and using the Windows 7 Entriprise 64-bit SP1 operating system.

Why bluetooth HW is not detected in Device Manager, I know that this laptop has built-in bluetooth.

    Please kindly help.

    Thank you

    You are the very welcome.

You are right.  This wireless card has built in bluetooth.

See if this driver installation get the bluetooth to work.

If this is not the case, check the BIOS to see if there is a setting to turn bluetooth on or off.

If this isn't the case, install it and see if it detects the bluetooth radio and turn it on using the software.

Once you turn on the BT, you can either go to the use of the software or uninstall.

  • T400 no wireless device not detected in Device Manager.

    Hello

I have a problem. I bought a new T400. As for specification - it has WLAN (EAN: nm322us).

    Dealer information:

    Wireless network Yes

    Standards wireless a/g/n

Type of wireless card Intel WiFi Link 5300AGN

But no wireless network card detected (in Device Manager), when the computer starts.  No in the bios for the WLAN mac address. So, where is a problem? A dealer cheated me and there is no WLAN in this computer? Or are there problems with the detection of devices of MS Windows Vista Business? Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Solved. The problem was that activate WLAN in BIOS was 2 places -strange. Update BIOS maybe after. Before the upgrade - as usual-, I looked in the network section (to activate WLAN). There was no option, besides, to activate the wired network. I don't know if it was in the other section (System i/o ports) before the BIOS update, but in my opinion - in any case, it's strange to Wired and wireless in separate sections network devices. Thank you very much for the help.

I tried to update the software driver for the camera and updated the BIOS.

    > Is it the camera attemtping completely uninstalling then reinstalling?
    Of course!

You should first go to Device Manager and need to uninstall the driver.
You must also remove the software from Control Panel-> software

After that, you must clean the BONES and the registry using CCleaner. It s tool free google
Then restart the laptop several times and reinstall the webcam software.

  • Graphics cards GTX - 770M not detected in Device Manager

    Salvation;

My AW-18 does not correctly detect my GTX - 770 M (x 2) cards and display them in the Device Manager. What I see is that in the other devices section, there are two unknown devices listed, one of which I already know (not related). Any GTX cards appear in graphics cards.

Also, when I try to install GeForce experience, I get an error saying that I don't have cards chart for this program. It allows to launch fine until today (December 15, 2014).

This PC has a hard drive erasure and system reinstall in its history. It is possible that this point has been like that for this event.

The Hardware Id info on the elements of the mystery are as follows:

    ACPI\VEN_SMO & DEV_8810
    ACPI\SMO8810
    * SMO8810

    So I guess I have two questions;

    (1) can you tell me what is this mystery device?

    (2) why can I not see my graphics card in Device Manager, despite all the usual activities like the search of new hardware, drivers, etc..

    Thank you

    Graham

Also note that I had already run the troubleshooter from Dell and it detected no problems.

    I found a solution myself.

I looked at the BIOS settings by the F2 key at startup, and the only thing I could see I could try was to restore the default settings, so I did. My PC booted then up normally but for low resolution. Device Manager now showed two graphics cards, so I ran the installer of the latest GeForce drivers and the PC works now perfectly once more.

  • Inspiron 1545 Webcam not found in Device Manager

My integrated Webcam has a message "Please plug in a supported device."  I have updated all imaging software but could not suddenly a video call in Skype.  When I went to the Device Manager, I found that the Wedcam is more listed.  As my computer is now out of warranty, I can't contact Dell support on how to troubleshoot or fix the problem.

I sweep Dell issues & received a message there is no webcam installed.  In recent months I have last access to the webcam so I don't know when the last, this has worked but was not serious in August 2013.

Anyone know how to solve the problem?  The only advice locally was the technology will have to send them out to diagnose the problem & could not give an estimate of the cost.  When this computer crashed EXACTLY 1 week after the expiry of the extended warranty & $299, I spent with Dell to replace the hard drive in October 2012, I will not buy another guarantee.  The cost related to repair in time for 90 days & then Dell wanted me to take an another $299 for an extention of the year.  Third party repairs have been made and the computer had to be shipped back twice before it worked correctly.

    Any help is appreciated!

    Nancy

    Hi Nancy,.

Consult the following link which has steps to solve the problem:

    http://Dell.to/18tJTi2

If the webcam is not dectected in the Device Manager, we need to replace the webcam.

If the problem persists, run the diagnostics on the webcam.

    http://Dell.to/15eT5VI

Under the component select camera and click Run diagnostics.

As the warranty has expired, you will need to contact our team of warranty repairs has expired which can provide information on the price of parts and replacement: http://dell.to/14UCPMK (for customers in the United States).

  • Satellite C650 - USB ports not recognized in Device Manager

When I turned off my cell phone, I lose the use of my two USB ports. The only way I can get back them is to use Device Manager

Go into the Manager of peripheral devices, Bus USB controllers, there are 6 x Intel ICH9 Family USB Universal Host controller 2 x Intel ICH9 Family USB2 Enhanced Host Controllers and 7 x USB hub root. When I lose the USB ports, USB root hubs seem to disappear, and the only way I can get back them is to uninstall the controllers and then right-click Universal Serial Bus Conrollers for "scan for changes on the hardware. This brings back the root hubs and USB ports work fine... until the computer turns off again.

Someone at - he encountered this problem and managed to resolve it? Its a hassle to have to go through the uninstall it / Reinstall procedure each time. Your advice will be appreciated.

    Hey Buddy,

You use the version preinstalled Windows from Toshiba or did you install your own version? I don't see any information about the BONES in your ad...
Theoretically, it could be a software problem so ports USB work correctly if they recognized in Device Manager

You should also try to update the Web from Toshiba site chipset driver. Maybe it helps.
Otherwise, I could imagine that the update of the BIOS can also operate and this update you can get on the Web from Toshiba site too.

  • Music satellite A300 PSAG4A keys doesn't work do not

    Hello

I am new to this forum and in fact Toshiba problems in general. : P

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A300-PSAG4A running on Vista 32 bit. A few days ago the music keys Harman/Kardon lighting on it suddenly stopped working. When I use my cell phone, I usually put in mode 'sleep' and normally wake him using these support the keys - but for some reason, they stopped randomly light up and answer.

I tried used - by restarting the computer laptop and test frantically buttons, but of course, they do not react. Keys and the laptop itself served very well up to now I can't think of any reason why this is happening now.

I'm not super computer savvy but I did some reading on the subject of these keys and wanted to try to reinstall the Toshiba Value added Package method - but I couldn't find the PVAT file anywhere on my laptop.

In addition, Toshiba does not offer support for my laptop computer series (A300-PSAG4A); their download section is only for the ST series. Please correct me if I'm wrong - I could be looking right or whatever.

I did a system health report to check if it is a driver problem and it came with the following text:
Error messages two affirming that "the device for the Base system device driver has not been installed" and the other saying that "the device driver for #UNKNOWN # has not been installed."

I don't know that anyone say or if they are relevant to my problem.

    Help, please?

    > I'm not super computer savvy but I did some reading on the subject of these keys and wanted to try to reinstall the Toshiba Value added Package method - but I couldn't find the PVAT file anywhere on my laptop.

Hi, you can download the VAP (value added package) for a Toshiba driver page.

    > Also, Toshiba does not offer support for my laptop computer series (A300-PSAG4A); their download section is only for the ST series. Please correct me if I'm wrong - I could be looking right or whatever.

Surely, they do think you searched on a fake page the A300 PSAG4A seems to be an Australian series of Toshiba and therefore, you should check page driver Toshiba to THE.
    http://www.MyToshiba.com.au/support/download

Here you should find the VAP

Recommend to uninstall the first PPV, and after new reboot you could install the package again.

    Thank you.

The Realtek RT8187B is the WiFi card in Notepad.

You should try to update the driver. Search on the WIFI portal for an update:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

Did you install the laptop with the Toshiba recovery disc or disc of Microsoft?

  • On Satellite A300-1MX webcam does not work properly

After my windows Vista system crashed 16 December 2011, I had made recovery.
After that, I have not found any driver for the webcam on the computer laptop everything. On the Toshiba support page, I finally found the 1.7 version, but this does not at all!

He always appears: driver Webcam open fails, restart the computer or the camera. Since it's built in camera I tried with the restart of the computer, but which did not help at all. So I tried with the option to repair the driver with Install Shield Wizard. The program has done something, but without success.

So I uninstalled and reinstalled and it did not help at all!

    Someone has an idea?

    Hello

Found an article in the knowledge base of Toshiba which describes this error and provides a solution to this problem.
+ Why displays the error message: "Webcam driver open fail. Restart the computer or the camera. » ? +
    + http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/OPT84026F0000R01.htm+

But its related to Portege M600 and Satellite U300 only.
However, you should also try to perform a BIOS update. After that, set the BIOS to default settings and save the changes. Then try to reinstall the software of webcam once more.

You should also check the Device Manager. Here in Device Manager that the webcam should be recognized as a USB device, if this isn't the case, then it means that the webcam was not recognized by the OS and that means there could be a hardware problem

As far as I know, the webcam is connected to the USB controller on the motherboard. If the cable connection is lost, then the webcam is not recognized in Device Manager; or as a USB device or an unknown device.

  • The function key does not work on Satellite A300 (PSAG4E)

    Hello!

    I have laptop Satellite A300-PSAG4E
I had installed sp3 WinXPPro on it. All great, but some problems with keys appeared.
    First - 6 functional keys above main keyboard (1 - light (?), 2 - multimedia player (?), 3 - play/pause, 4 - stop, 5 - prev, 6 - then) just change light when they pressed, but in OS, there is no action.
Second - by pressing the Fn key and, e.g. F2 cause no action

All drivers and programs has been downloaded and installed from toshiba support center. Should what information I provide to solve this problem?

    Hey,.

What you mean exactly if you write about the replacement of the lamp if you press the buttons of enlightenment? Change the color or what's happening exactly on the laptop?
Normally the buttons of the illumination and the XP to Toshiba control controls pilot, utilities, etc.

Using the FN + F2 key combination you can change between the profiles of different powers. Therefore, you need Toshiba Power Saver that can be downloaded on the page of Toshiba. It s really a tool where you can adjust the power and cooling settings.

I had to replace the hard drive on my PSAJ4E of the A300 and when I reloaded Vista 32 and install all drivers hardware Toshiba everything went well except for a Chicony webcam.

The side menu is there but it won't work, giving a "driver webcam open fail." "Please restart camera or computer" error.

I updated the Bios to 4.20
I first used the original Toshiba, the 20080428125023 webcam driver download (V1.07.175).
I tried with 'closed the cover 3/4 '.
I have searched and read dozens of similar problems. I've tried a few, even edit the ini setting. Nothing helps.
I even tried drivers XP (V1.7.144.0611), 32-bit and 64-bit versions and even a driver from the gateway. Nothing seems to work for this cam.

    What now?

I also now get "the requested section is not found in the INF file" when I try to uninstall and reinstall the driver through Device Manager.
