Satellite A300 - switch Wifi

Hi all

I have Satellite A300 with 32 bit Vista (never reinstalled) and I have problem with Wifi. My Wifi does not work. It seems that there are only no wifi at all and no device has ever not been. I think that he is disabled, but it is disabled even when ' "(placé sur la face avant) wireless switch is turned on.". "

There is no yellow!-brands in and there is no wireless network adapter in Device Manager too.

So it seems that the Wifi is disabled in a sort of "soft switch"... I don't want to reinstal windows, I just turn on my wifi. Could someone help me please?

Thank you
E.

Hello

The old wifi card swich works OK - orange light is on. On the new map light is off and swich does not work.

    Help, please

    Hello

Do you have also enabled the WLAN functionality by pressing FN + F8?
    Check it!

In addition, I think the case is clear: the new wireless LAN card isn't compatible with Satellite A110.
So in my opinion, you must use remove the new card Intel and install the old card that works fine in your laptop.

    > Do you want to say that if I buy the card and buy an additional antenna, it will work?
I doubt that it will work because the antenna is hidden behind the screen of the laptop and I don t think that replace you it.
First of all it s really complicated and secondly, you will lose your warranty!

  • Satellite A300 - give up WIFI connection

I recently bought a Satellite A300, but unfortunately it keeps down the internet WIFI connection while surfing the net.
It's only recently, in the last 2 weeks and I did not install new software that can do this.

I have a connection by wireless modem netgear aged 12 months which is connected to my main computer (wireless).
I use a secure connection which needs a wep key and is compatible with Windows Vista.

I also use this connection for my laptop from a different manufacture that I have no problem with. I also have Wifi on Wii and Xbox so I was wondering if there could be interference. Xbox Cup connection also.
I have only 2 related both objects and they are not even in the same place or even near each other...

When I diagnose the problem it says weak signal, but the intensity of the signal on the computer shows excellent.
If I plug the ethernet cable then everything works fine.

Very puzzled as to why this happens, having run checks virus on computers and nothing.
Uninstalling the connectivity doctor, still no joy.
All that it suggest that there is problem ISP but given that I can connect to my other laptop and desktop PC and no problems so do not know if it is...

Can someone help, I'm not very technical and am now very mentally drained

    Thank you

    Hello!

First of all, you must update your WLAN driver. You can find it on the Toshiba site:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

He recommended to disable some options that could have an impact on the energy-saving WLAN functionality.
In your case I would deactivate the energy saving WLAN and maybe this document option is useful for you

I deleted Home Premium and installed Vista Ultimate. And now I can not find software for wifi excess. There was possibility to search for wifi, his name is "radar." Help me please to find this utility.

  • A WiFi just stopped working on my Satellite A300

I bought a Toshiba Satellite A300 (Vista) and it all started very well. The second day my wifi only stop while I was online... just after does not do anything and now I can't turn it on. The touch wifi and FN + F8 is running. Configfree even can see if the wifi button is on or off, but I do not see the wireless connections (theres allows to be 5 - 6 of them where I live... so theres nothing wrong with the router).

I can add that there's no conflict in the wireless card and all drivers are up to date. Is this a hardware problem? What are my opptions here?

It could just be a software problem. Have you recently installed a firewall or Internet Security program? Try to disable them.

If this does not help, run recovery to reinstall Windows to its factory condition, and then try again. If it still does not work, then it might be a problem with the hardware. First, try a BIOS update and the update of the Wifi pilot before you send the laptop to an ASP for repairs.

  • Satellite A300 - 1 MM-can I switch to Windows 8?

    Hello!

    I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A300 - 1 MM.
It is Windows Vista, which is preinstalled.
I can it move to Windows 8?
    Thanks for the tips.

In general your old A300 is not supported for Wn8. It is supported for Win7 only. Not same A500 is supported for upgrading Win8.
I have also, but running with Win7 32 bit and I m very happy with it.

As far as I know that Vista Win8 upgrade is not supported so that you can try is to install Win7 and install the upgrade for Win8. With the drivers and especially with Toshiba Utilities and tools can be a bit problematic, but you can try to use the stuff proposed for the new model of laptop.

Unfortunately on this forum we don't have much information about these updates.
If you try to install Win8 thanks for posting comments.

  • Satellite A300-1J1 fails to connect WIFI

I have a Satellite A300 1J1, purchased in September which I use in college.
At home I have Virgin Broadband and my laptop is easily connected to it.
When I get home I can not connect to broadband home.
I put in all the correct passwords (it uses 3com) but my phone just crash log.
It is not the home network, because my brothers laptop computer running smoothly at home. The problem is my laptop.

I could buy a separate connect package and a dongle, but it seems stupid when I should be able to connect automatically.

Can someone tell me what I could do to please which is not too difficult technically?

    Hello

You should first check if your wireless network card has been recognized and properly installed.
I noticed that in very rare cases the WLan driver was not installed correctly and there was a yellow exclamation point next to the WLan card.

The WLan driver correctly installed is essential to connect the laptop wireless.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite A300 - how to set up WiFi draft N?

Hi all new to the forum so Hello.

My father just bought a Satellite A300 with Vista, which I'm trying to set up for him.
I can't get the wireless to connect to 11n only 11g. I tried on both routers that I managed to connect my suburb to @ 11n.

Under Advanced settings in the device, the option of Wireless Manager, it does not list 11n anywhere, it lists all of the combinations of 11A, 11b, and 11g but not 11n!

    Any help pointers appreciated!

    Best regards, Steve

What is the exact model of your Satellite A300 code?

And are you really sure that your Satellite A300 supports draft N? Did you check that?
The fact is that not all Satellite A300 supports the new draft N speed.

To me that sounds like it's your laptop doesn't support draft N and if that were the case, you should try to update the driver WLAN from your laptop.
You can find it on the page of Toshiba.

  • Satellite A300 - his stutters when I enable Wi - FI turns

    Hello!

I am owner of a Satellite A300, and almost from the beginning, I noticed some occasional stuttering on the sound.

Really got me bugged with this question, and I tried several times to solve. I even got to the point of resetting the default computer. Sooner or later, the same problem started again.
I even started a thread in the media forum, without a solution for the bug. Even if I had a valuable contribution on an antivirus I've tried and I think is quite good, avira.

Let me describe more accurately 'symptoms:

    * I recently discovered, this annoying behavior isn't random.
    * The stuttering is repeated at the minute, all about the same second every minute.
    * This led me to suspect a certain type of hardware/software cyclical behavior.
    * I guessed the laptop components that could have this kind of cyclical 'check' could be wireless equipment, for example, searching for a kind of networks.
    * Immediately, I turned off the switch.
    * Waiting for this ' second marked "happen and to my surprise, the suttering did not.
    * WAIT a few minutes and the situation remained out of any disruption.
    * then I turned the switch back on and within seconds after 4 or 5, the suttering returned and again the minutes that follow, by the same second.
Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this problem?
I have to say that sometimes, I am able to have the switch on without problems. In this case (I think) when I start the system with the switch, wait until the system is fully elapsed, turn on the switch and start a had-hoc wifi network that I created on my laptop to share my computer with a dsl connection laptop here at home.

But right now, I booted the system with incidentally on switch (even got stuttering on the welcoming sound of windows) and in this session, I was not able to maintain the switch without the "bug", again. Even if I activate the had-hoc wifi network (i.e. activation worked on other times), I can't get the stuttering sound, without having to press the switch.

    See you soon!

    Hello

What are you writing about? Your laptop starts with windows media player playback music or how to understand this?

I have Satellite A300-1LI in front of me, and I tested it with Vista preinstalled original. Work on my Satellite I like listening to music or simply Internet radio. I can switch on / off WIFI, but there is no difference. Absolutely no sound stuttering.

Believe me, that's not easy to say why this happens. I do not understand why you write about the bug. Why my laptop doesn t have the same bug that your?

This happens when you only use the WLAN switch or when you use the FN + F8 key combination too?

  • Satellite A300 - 27 X - Wireless is not installed

    Hello!

I bought a Toshiba A300 x 27 the last day and I cannot connect to my wifi network as the wireless device seems to be uninstalled.

When I go into Device Manager, I see 'controller Ethernet", with a yellow exclamation point listed under 'other devices '.
I downloaded some drivers of your wireless download page. Problem is that I don't know what wireless hardware is inside this laptop, so I don't know which driver I excactly must download and install. I tried a few, but those who did not.

I had vista 32 bit installed.
    Sorry for my English.

    Hello!

You use the factory settings or you have installed your own version of Windows?

On the Toshiba site, you can search your model and then download the driver:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

As far as I know, the Satellite A300-27 X is equipped with an Atheros card or Realtek WiFi but you can check it with the ID of the seller as Akuma has suggested.

And don t forget WiFi must be enabled with the hardware switch on the computer laptop and FN + F8.

    Good bye

  • Satellite A300 PSAG8E - unable to connect to the internet

    Hello.

I have Toshiba Satellite A300 PSAG8E (product for Tuerkiye) laptop.
    My vista ultimate operating system.
I can't connect to the internet.

I have the new format recently.
    What should I?

    Hello

If you use the WiFi network you should check if the wireless network adapter is enabled!
You can activate using the FN + F8 key combination and, in addition, you should switch WLan antenna on IT (the WLan led should be flashing).

Finally, configure the settings (SSID right, encryption, etc.) and connect to the router.

    All that s.
