Satellite A300 - touchpad & keyboard issues

I have the same problem that a lot of people is faced with (PSAG8E - 05J00TEN Toshiba Satellite A300 - 21H). I'm sure that the touchpad is not disabled.
Clean installation of Windows VISTA - touchpad & keyboard half the time not work half the time. I'm sure this isn't a driver problem (if it doesn't not Device Manager said was a problem with the device..). I already tried 5 different drivers...
I am faced with the question since I bought it... I thought that there could be problem with OS, today I installed UBANTU but face question (Mouse pad stops after some time) with this OS too... I'm sure that its hardware problem not with OS or any driver...

Please can someone is there any solution for this...

I have Satellite A300-1LI and it is also PASG8E but I n t notice a keyboard or touchpad problem. At the beginning I used it with the original image of Vista, but about a year now, I use Windows XP Home edition and Win7 as dual-boot. No problem at all.

If you have noticed this strange problem from day one, why you didn t contacted Toshiba service and asked for help?
I can imagine there is a hardware problem but I put t know what you want to do all alone on this subject. want to trade you the keyboard or the touchpad only.

Replacement of keyboard is not a big problem but the touchpad...

    Hello

I'm looking for suggestions or ideas how to deal with the problem of keyboard and the touchpad, which occurred just after I installed the new operating system. I changed from Windows Vista to Windows 7 and my keyboard and touchpad become inactive after a few minutes of starting the system. It is not serious if I write something or not, the unit works for a short time, then turn off automatically. I tried to find updates the driver but failed to come through what might be the solution. It is difficult to work with the screen keyboard so I hope that you will be able to help me.

    Thank you in advance,

I have Satellite A300-1LI and I installed clean Win7 32-bit using the Microsoft installation disc and all devices are working properly including the keyboard and the touchpad.

Have you installed Win7 upgrade or clean the Win7 version?
Have you used Microsoft installation CD?
In General, keyboard and touchpad must work without any additional driver.

  • Satellite A300-243 - keyboard and touchpad has stopped working

    Hello everyone

I have a serious problem in my Satellite A300-243. I installed a driver for external keyboard using a CD and once I rebooted both keyboard and touchbpad stopped working and to make any order, when I reached the vista welcome page.
What should I do because you know that even if I can't get into the windows to uninstall this driver.

Any way to do during windows startup?

    Hello

Why you installed a driver for external keyboard? I've never heard of such drivers

Anyway, you should try to start in safe mode and then you are able to remove driver external keyboard to the list of software. After I restarted in normal mode, the keyboard and the touchpad should work properly again.

  • Satellite A300 - Touchpad gets too hot

I bought a Satellite A300 last week and I noticed that when I use the computer for an hour or so the touchpad becomes very hot.
And also the area of the left hand next to the touchpad.

Is this normal? Is there a way to reduce it?

    Thank you

    Pedro.

    Hi Pedro,

I put t know what what is for you hot and wasn't, but on my Toshiba Satellite laptop I've never had a problem that it too hot.

Normally, I recommend to clean the laptop with a jet of compressed air, but I think that is not necessary because the laptop is only a week.
Maybe the fan or the heatpipe is malfunctioning. Or the thermal grease to be renewed

I put t know but in your case, I would go to an authorized service provider. Technicians can check your laptop and it should be free, because the laptop must be under warranty if it s a week-old.

  • Satellite A300-15V: keyboard does not work after that Win7 has started

    Hello

I just installed windows 7 64 bit on my A300-15V and some strange problems:

When I boot up, the keyboard and the touchpad works until I log in, as soon as the desktop appears my keyboard and trackpad stopped working.
If I restart the laptop everything seems again works fine.

Sometimes in the middle of working on something, the laptop and the trackpad will stop working completely and I have to restart the laptop to operate again.

I installed the chipset drivers listed under my OS, but that has not solved the problem.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Hello

Hmm, please set the BIOS to default settings!

You can enter the BIOS by pressing F2 while the laptop starts.

You also need to install the driver for the touchpad, as far as I know there are two drivers; Synaptics and Alps. The two must be installed.

Please check also if the touchpad is not disabled by pressing FN + F9 key combination!

  • Satellite P870 - Touchpad scrolling issues

    I have a P870 (PSPLFA-019001)

I had trouble with the touchpad. If I move the touchpad no matter where the screen scrolls vertically (not just on the right scroll bar) and the mouse is stationary. When I touch the trackpad under the clickable buttons somehow, it disables scrolling so I can move the mouse.

I went to the control panel mouse options and:
    * can't take off vertical scroll [Pic | http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd152/_Rebeccabec_/MouseProperties_zps7d8e2841.png |] PIC] [Pic | http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd152/_Rebeccabec_/MouseProperties_zps7d8e2841.png |] Peak Vertical scrolling]

    * I tried F5 to toggle the mouse. no change

I don't know what to do now. Help, please! Also, I uploaded a (bad) video to show you what is happening. It was difficult to show a single hand. [Video link | https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MEikPtlgcQ |] Touchpad]

  • 3000 x 4 TouchPad / keyboard issue?

I have started to have a rather odd behavior, the mouse pointer "selects" all the time (selection box), what is happening currently with the office and it randomly moving icons as if I have the selected with the mouse (touchpad) the keyboard seems to also play up because it takes almost 2 minutes sometimes before XP login screen I can type anything (as applicable)

This is driving me crazy and I suspect that the keyboard and the touchpad need replace (the machine is now about 4 years old) my question is would this be something that I can do myself (used to assemble the PC but not laptops) and can people recommend a good place for parts or sounds like something I should get done "good"?

Based in the United Kingdom and don't want to be ripped off, I get a replacement keyboard should be about £65 if someone could please give me some info.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

If you really want, you could buy a USB keyboard and a mouse, assuming that's what you want. Depending on the amount you want to spend. The touchpad is a bit more to change, as you disassemble the screen of the high Assembly. Then remove the top Assembly from the lower to go where it is positioned. Takes a bit of time and can spoil. The keyboard is easier and has only a few screws to undo and your game. I always recommend to take it to the repair shop just because they are able to do it in a blink of eye and without any problem. Try reinstalling windows as well on your laptop, could just be an OS problem.

  • Satellite A300 - Touchpad does not work correctly

    Hi guys,.

I recently had a problem with my laptop touchpad.

The little icon in the toolbar that displays the status of the touch pad indicates that the touchpad is used even when it is not.
There also some time did the same for the left click button.

I tried to change settings in the control panel and tried to update the driver (windows tells me always upward even if this isn't so far!).

Because the touchpad think he used this effects my LT performance! Any clues guys.

Oh and Fn + F9 turns off the TP but the indication remains the same.

Have you tried to use the touchpad the touchpad driver free? You should be able to use the touchpad without driver also, but you will have all these additional options.
    Can you please test?

What model of laptop you have exactly (A300-xxx)?

    Paul

    Hello

Does this mean that only your touchpad freezes or the computer?

So without more information it of difficult to say something about this but I recommend you to install the latest driver for the touchpad on Toshiba website:

  • Satellite A300-1QD - warranty issue

Hello, I bought Toshiba SATELLITEA300-1QD I Germany in one of the Saturn stores and I said that I have a two year warranty.
On registerin on the Toshiba site, it appears that the warranty is one year.

Does anyone have experience with this problem?

    Thanks tons, Vanja

    Hello

As far as I know the laptop is covered by the international standard warranty for one year.
But after the registration of the laptop on the Europe of Toshiba page, you would get an extra year. So eventually your laptop would be covered by warranty for 2 years.

  • Satellite A300 - 1 5: keyboard and touchpad not working

I have problem with keyboard and touchpad. Laptop satellite A300 - 1 5

I have Vista home premium and when I turn on the computer, I put password in the user box then my keyboard and the touchpad do not work.

In the Bios my keyboard work but when Vista starts it doesn't have.

    How to solve this problem?

    Thank you!

    Hello

First of all, please check the status of the device in Device Manager.
Please check if the keyboard and touchpad are listed correctly without any yellow exclamation point.

But you should try to reinstall the drivers again, even if the keyboard and the touchpad have been recognized correctly.
In this case I recommend to remove the keyboard and the touchpad Device Manager, and then you must restart the computer once more.

After Vista has restarted the two devices should be recognized again and should work.

    Please check this!
