Hello

Is what code exactly?

What webcam you use with MSN?
What is the internal webcam A300?

In your case I would recommend the update to Vista everything. Please check if SP1 has been installed already.

In my opinion, this issue may be related to the issue of software and updates are really important.

Good bye

  • Satellite A300: Vista 64 bits after the new installation by using the recovery disk

I have a Toshiba Satellite A300 A300 / M00 and when I got it, it had Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit. But after awhile, I started to have problems so I decided to reinstall Vista on my laptop. After crossing with the product recovery media, my system become so 64-bit.

Was not my system suppose to have 32-bit when it was originally with her?
If no, then how can I install 32 bit once more on my laptop like 64-bit gives me problems with the installation of some of my programs.

If I need to buy a copy of Vista 32 Bit, where can I find the drivers for my system, because the product recovery media has all the drivers on this subject.

    Thank you for your time.

Hmm. Your ad is a little confusing.

Why would you say that Toshiba Recovery disk contains a version of Vista 64-bit?
    How did you check that?
From my experience, the Toshiba recovery disc still contains the preinstalled operating system.

Also as much as I know the new notebook from Toshiba are not delivered with the recovery disk, but with a HARD drive recovery option.
This option allows you to reinstall the OS from the second partition of HARD drive recovery.
Alternatively, you can use the preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator software to create the own recovery DVDs! And this recovery disk contains the same preinstalled OS!

    Good bye

Vista won't load; have you tried to start repair; System Restore and boot in safe mode, none of them work. I get the error "error 0 x 80070570: the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable."

I don't know what I did with my recovery CD; or if I even got one with my purchase (from Harvey Norman).

Please tell us what can be done.

    Hello

What you can try is to install Vista using disk HARD recovery option.
How it works, you can read on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm

If it works all the data saved on the C partition will be deleted but the data saved on the D partition will always be there.

  • Satellite A300-1J1: cannot use F8 to start the HARD drive recovery process

I just brought a laptop Toshiba Satellite A300-1j1, and at the same time got the upgrade to Vista Ultimate disk at the same time.

Straight out I went to a sweet upgrade to Ultimate, which failed, and restored in Premuim laptop.

Stupidly I immediately then a hard install to ultimate who "worked", but of course the drivers to run the laptop has not been installed, I decided to go back to factory settings and try to get Ultimate again once.

However to use F8 at startup is does not give me the option to restore, and since, I've learned that I should do a set of recovery discs, which I did not.

Installation, the data is still on the disk 'E', so is anyway I can always use it to make these discs or what should I do?

    Thank you for your help,

    Ian

    > .and since then, I learned that I should do a set of recovery discs, which I did not.
    It's your biggest mistake.
    > Installation, data are still on the 'E' drive, is it so in any way I can still use it to make these discs or what should I do?
There is nothing you can do to create recovery DVDs. If you want to have the original recovery DVD you must buy it.

  • Satellite A300 - how to use wake up on keyboard functionality?

    Hi all

I have a Satellite A300-1ME and also a desktop PC intel 4 and I use a KVM (Keyboard Video Mouse) to control two computers with one keyboard & mouse. The kvm has PS/2 cables and is connected to the TOSHIBA by a PS/2 to the USB cable from the switch. The connection of the keyboard & mouse to the notebook computer is connected to a USB port. I use vista 32 bit on my laptop and XP on the desktop personal computer.

Now for my question, how can I use the keyboard to turn on the laptop closed (not the standby mode). I tried to do by choosing the keyboard HWSetup awakening and also, I checked the bios, to the keyboard 'waking up' option and he chose but still it won't start the laptop with the keyboard.

P.S if there is no way to turn on the laptop keyoard, then perhaps by pressing the dvd - rom. If someone knows how to do made me know

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

Operating instructions, I found the following information:
+ Wake up on keyboard: when this feature is enabled and that the computer is in mode 'sleep', you can activate the computer by pressing any key. It is effective only for the internal keyboard and only when the computer is in "sleep". +

Does that answer your question? ;)

  • Satellite A300 - how to use two hard disks?

My Satellite A300 came with two 200 GB hard drives (drives C and D). What is the best way to use the D drive? Now I have nothing about it. If drive C fills the computer automatically switches the D drive?

A basic question, I know, but the manual provides no information on this subject.

    Hey Dearborn,

    > If drive C fills the computer automatically switches the D drive?
No, D: drive will not be filled automatically.
When installing the program, you will be asked which drive they will be installed. So you can choose between C: and D: drive.

In general there are no rules the use of two hard disks. You can do what you want.
In my opinion the best is if you install all the programs on C: drive (first HARD drive) and save your private files such as photos, videos, documents, etc. on drive D: (second HARD drive). Its advantage is that if you need to reinstall Windows at all times, these files on the second HARD drive will not be deleted. ;)

  • Satellite A300 - how to use the recovery with external DVD drive disc?

    Hello

    I bought a toshiba Satellite A300 - 15 d

FTM the tsscorp drive that is installed in the camera no longer works (does not detect any type of media what so ever). ) need to recover the laptop, so I used a USB DVD drive to boot from the restore disc, but after that the charges of recovery console it says waiting for media in the f: drive, which is the tsscorp drive although I used an external drive to load the disc.

What files should I edit to make it to load from the drive externally and if this isn't the solution, what do I do?

    Thanks in advance

    Hey Buddy,

Unfortunately I think that it of not possible to use the recovery with external CD/DVD drive disc. Therefore, place the internal for use the recovery disc.
You can get a new drive to an authorized service provider.

But if the original OS from Toshiba is installed, you can use the function of disk recovery HARD reinstall Windows as well. Go to the advanced boot menu (F8) and select Repair my computer :)

    Thank you

    Hello

    > ive tried 4 different vista disks that work fine on other computers, as I have tried

It looks like something wrong with the hard drive. I recommend you format the hard disk with programs like Partition magic, Disk Manager Arcoins. You should make a disk bootable cd and boot from it to format the hard drive before installing Vista. Furthermore, you have formatted partition during the installation of Vita? There is an option to format the partition selected during the installation of windows. You see, I met some users who tried to install windows without formatting the selected partition.

  • Satellite A300 Vista - no sound

    Hello

The sound then has full on my Satellite A300 on Control Panel etc. Playback, no sound, off headset nothing anyway.
I went on the sound, hardware and Control Panel. On the first section, somehow I wiped the image of Realtek and the image of the speaker.

I downloaded the Realtek, but cannot reload, or the logo of the speaker?
What should I do to get that back?

What caused the problem in the first place?
Could he have put a SKYPE phone on it?

    Hello

I must say that your post is really confusing.
I put t know how someone could erase the image of Realtek and the image of the speaker.

But I'll try to help you.
I think you need to access the Device Manager first and should remove your sound card in the list of devices.
Reboot the laptop and after new restart try reinstalling the audio driver that you downloaded from the European driver Toshiba page.

Usually, this should contribute to renew the sound card driver and retrieve the sound!

  • Satellite A300-034 - BSOD using msn messenger

    Hey,.

I'm also having roughly the same problem. I bought my Toshiba A300-034 from futureshop with a built-in webcam.
Whenever I try to use it with msn messenger, it goes to the blue screen and restart my computer after a very short time.

What can I do to fix this?
Should drivers be installed or uninstalled?
I don't have the camera software that there is no cd for this laptop backup; It is all saved on a certain part of the hard drive.

    Thanks for your help.

    > I don't have the camera software that there is no cd for this laptop backup; It is all saved on a certain part of the hard drive.
You should be able to create a recovery disc! Do this, use the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery disk creator tool!

In addition, you should visit the Canadian driver Toshiba page (Yes, this seems to be a Canadian model of laptop) and need to reinstall the webcam software and should update the Vista!

I don't know if there is a link between them, but they all stopped.

    Hello

There is no connection between all of these applications.
Mentioned work as stand-alone software apps and each software can be uninstalled and installed separately.
I think you need to uninstall these software and after having cleaned the Vista using CCleaner (freeware software) install the software again.

    Good luck

  • Re: How to install any boot on the Satellite A300 Vista Manager

I want to install second OS on my A300 but can't do any boot manager works with Vista.

IBM os/2 bootmanager can start Vista, but Vista say he can't run winload and hang up, Acronis bootmanager does not see any OS to Vista's NTFS disk...

    Hello

Vista supports a clean Vista Boot Manager and there you can add all the installed OS.
I did after I installed my Win XP as second operating system.

First, I installed Win XP on the second partition but I couldn't start on Vista because Win XP damaged MBR (master boot record). That's why I started again from disk (NOT the Toshiba Recovery disk) Vista and the Vista disc to repair the MBR.
Then, I started in Vista and edited the BCD. You can use the freetool like EasyBCD because that would be the best way to add a second operating system for the Vista Boot Manager.

    See you soon
