Hi pro.surfer,

You know the forum search? If this isn't the case, you must use because you will find many threads with this error message and lots of useful training, what to do to.

I put t know which driver you mean, but you need the Camera Assistant Software for webcam. The microphone is a part of webcam, so you need to install the driver for the webcam. ;)

    * Download driver Chicony Webcam drivers from Toshiba Web site section was updated. If you can't find an updated driver, try a new driver of another model of Toshiba.
    * Install the Service Pack 1 of Vista, or Vista Hotfix KB934374: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934374 (KB934374 is included in SP1)
    * Update your e-mail software (MSN/Yahoo Messenger, etc...)
    * If you have another program that can use the webcam (e.g. Skype), make sure that they are completely closed and not, sitting in the system tray.
    * Try to close the bar Assistant camera on the left side of the office.
    * To stop the Camera Assistant software from running at startup, run Regedit and delete HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run "Camera Assistant Software".

If this does not work, the best option would be to backup your data and run recovery. If it still does not work, then the webcam itself may be faulty.

  • HDR and Panorama fail after the upgrade to Windows 10

After the upgrade to Windows 10, trying to merge pictures gives the message "unknown error occurred".  After the first attempt, I've updated my driver graphic card, and HDR worked.  But the next time, the error message reappears, and this has been consistent - if the graphics card is engaged or disabled!  My graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce GT 750 M.

The problem turned out to be unrelated to Windows 10.  For reasons I can't understand, it is limited to one set of photos taken on a single morning. So, no problems with Windows 10.

  • Solution for Webcam sleep & back problems after the upgrade to Windows 7

Just thought I'd share the solution I recently found a problem I've had since a Satellite Pro A200 GE 26 Q of the upgrade from Vista to Windows 7.

I installed the software webcam for windows 7 on the toshiba site and built-in Chicony camera would work very well after a reboot, but if the computer is in sleep for a long enough period, the unit would stay asleep when the computer woke up and wouldn't work at all, unless the computer has fully restarted.

The solution lies in a change in the registry to force the computer to update the webcam USB controller is attached, after the release of sleep. It was apparently the default for Vista when it was released, but was changed in Vista SP1 and Windows 7. Designed for Vista original material which did not have its drivers/registry updated entries could therefore be subject to a failure because of changes to the default settings through the updates of windows. Toshiba, it seems, do not think that this issue then of the extinction of the registry fix for Win7 upgrades for the satellite Pro A200. Therefore fix manually.

The article where the solution is here: [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928631]

You do NOT have the file of the fix, you must only make the change to the registry described later.

You need turn on the camera while you do the following to make sure that it appears in Device Manager correctly.

Step 1: Determine the specific USB host controller

    # Click on * early *, enter devmgmt.msc #the * search * box, then click on * devmgmt.msc* in the * list of programs.
    # The * view * menu, click on * devices of * connection *.
    # Expand the processor node. For example, expand * ACPI * Multiprocessor PC *. (In my case, * ACPI x 86 based PC) *.
    # Extend * system compatible ACPI Microsoft *.
    # Extend * PCI Bus *. Several USB host controllers will be listed.
    # Expand each USB host controller node, and then expand successive subnodes until you find the name of the device that is failing. For example, the device entry might look like the following: ACPI Multiprocessor PC\Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System\PCI Bus\Intel (R) \ICH8 family USB Universal Host Controller - drive root Hub\fingerprint 2830\USB * (Note: for me, I found the webcam to ACPI x 86 PC\Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System\PCI Bus\Intel (R) \ICH8 family USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 283A\USB Root Hub + USB Composite Device\Chicony USB 2.0 Camera-based) *.
    # When you have located the device, right click on the associated and then USB host controller click on * properties *. In the example that is listed in step 6 you would right-click * Intel(r) ICH8 Family USB Universal Host Controller-* 2830, then click on * properties *. (* Again, for me it was different - ICH8 Family USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 283 a *).
    # Click on the * details * tab.
    # Select * pilot key * in the list. The driver key will look like the following. Note the last four digits of this driver key. {36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000} \0002 * (on my system it's: (36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000) \0005*).

Step 2: Add the ForceHCResetOnResume registry value for the USB host controller

    # Click on * early *, type regedit #in the * search * box, then click on * regedit.exe* in the * list of programs.
    # Find and then click the registry subkeys that are similar to the following: * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contr ol\Class{36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000}\Four-digit_number.* in this step, the numero_a_quatre_chiffres is a placeholder for the USB devices in the system.
    # You must search the registry subkey by using the value that you noted in step 9 above. For example, if the key of the pilot to step 9 is * {36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000} \0002*, then you need to get * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contr ol\Class {36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000} \0002. (For me, as mentioned above, this was \0005 (36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000)). *

    # On the * Edit * menu, point on * New * and then click on * DWORD value *.
    # Type# * ForceHCResetOnResume * to the name of the DWORD and then press ENTER.
    # Right click * ForceHCResetOnResume * and then click on * edit *.
    # In the * boite box the value data, type# 1 and then click on * OK *.
    # Exit the registry editor.
    # Restart the computer.

This fixed the problem for a long time for me. I'm writing this in case it helps someone else who has the same problem. If anyone from Toshiba never reads this, you might consider adding the registry fixes for upgrades of windows 7 on the download page for this & all other models affected.

Big Hey what s announced and detailed, thank you! :)
I m wondering how you discovered it.

But I want to add something: before you make or change something in the Windows registry, make a backup of it. In the worst cases, restore you the old Windows registry. Just to be sure ;)

After trying to load the webcam, I get the message: "Webcam driver open fail. Please restart camera or computer.

    > Is it the camera attemtping completely uninstalling then reinstalling?
    Of course!

You should first go to Device Manager and need to uninstall the driver.
You must also remove the software from Control Panel-> software

After that, you must clean the BONES and the registry using CCleaner. It s tool free google
Then restart the laptop several times and reinstall the webcam software.

Camera is off and I can't turn it on, by restarting the computer gives no effect.

    Hello

I see you are using Vista
Well, first you must make sure that Vista is up-to-date!
You used the recovery and that means that Vista needs to be updated to the latest state!
All the service packs and other patches must be installed.

Then remove the software of the webcam of the system, clean the base registry (CCleaner, etc.) and after reboot again trying to reinstall the webcam software

  • Satellite A300 - constant "Webcam Driver Open Fail' error

I have searched and looked for solutions to this problem and feel like I've tried everything. Whenever I turn on my laptop or try to start my webcam I get the error "Webcam driver open fail." Please restart camera or computer. »

I used to be able to use the webcam with no problems, but it just stopped one day of work. I recently reformatted my drive to operate the State out-of-the-box, but it always shows an error whenever I try to use my webcam. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium on an A300 model: PSA - GCA. I also tried updating the driver for the webcam (and the last update of the BIOS) section of the support from Toshiba, but without success. I also tried to use the webcam XP driver, but still no luck.

Any idea on how to solve this problem?

  • Satellite L305-S5945 - Webcam driver open fail

I have a Satellite L305-S5945 and the webcam worked perfectly out of the box, and after that I have re-installed Vista-64 (which he came with) after that I installed a bad program and had a blue screen.

I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 and now the webcam is not working and I get the error "Webcam driver open fail." Please restart camera or computer. "I tried to find a Windows 7 driver on the support page, but I couldn't find one so I just used both Vista/XP those instead. One is the driver and another the Camera Assistant Software. Here's what I've tried so far:

    * Attempt #1 * freshly installed Windows 7. Without having to install anything else, I download the two aforementioned drivers and then install both and restart the computer. Meet up with working Camera Assistant Software but when you start webcam I get error "Webcam driver open fail. Please restart camera or computer. »

Try to #2 * after 1 attempt, go to Device Manager and uninstall Chicony USB Camera 2.0 under imaging devices. Restart the computer and let it sit. Finally Windows takes the camera and auto installs and it reappears in the Device Manager. Still get the same errors.

    * The #3 attempt * freshly installed Windows 7. Uninstall the camera in Device Manager, and then install the two drivers. Get the same errors. Restart the computer and still the same error.

Help! How can I fix my webcam?

Try to install the driver for cam Win7 to another model of laptop A300 or A500.
I'm sure that it works well.

Did you check the forum for similar discussions/problems? It doesn t seem so because you will find enough referred to this problem.
Then use the forum search and read similar topics.

In any case, you should try to update the driver for the webcam and the BIOS. Both can be downloaded from the Toshiba page.
