Satellite A300 with Vista 32 bit stops and restarts rendomly

Hello

PC randomly just resart, no interval.
I've restored the PC to original factory of the partition.
I have installed new bios (1.8), was 1.3.
I tried a lot of suggestion of internet post but not luck.
All microsoft updates are applied.

Wat I noticed is that if I boot in ' Standalone or Sandalone with internet: PROBLEM STOPS. "

Any help appreciated,

Kind regards

Eric Eric

Hello

May I ask if you have noticed a high temperature, while the laptop stops automatically?
Usually, the high temperature is the main reason for this unexpected closure of the bottom.

The high temperature may appear if the cooling module does not work correctly because of the dust or debris inside the fans.
Cleaning if this can be useful.

I clean my fans from time to time with the help of compressed air jet and it's good enough to clean the fans

    Hey Buddy,

First of all, the BIOS can only be updated Windows System. There is no other version that you can download on the site Web of Toshiba.

But I doubt that this problem is caused by the BIOS. It s I knew not that it is possible to change certain values which make impossible Windows installation. With other words BIOS is secure and with all the settings, it should be possible to install Windows.
An alternative you can press F9 in BIOS to load the default settings. That would be the best option.

But according to your assignment, if Windows installation of recovery disc doesn t work and you are not able to charge the battery while the laptop is turned on it seems to be a hardware malfunction because seriously it has nothing to do with the software.

So either come you into contact with the ASP to get the repaired device or you can repair yourself with original spare parts with parts ASP or second-hand on eBay or similar platforms.
Of course, you can buy a new laptop: in case the motherboard would be defective because the motherboard is very expensive spare part, it would be the best choice in my opinion.

  • Audio driver does not work on Satellite U400-112 with Vista 64-bit Buss

    Hello

I installed Win Vista Buss. 64-bit on my Toshiba Satellite U400-112 but the original driver for the Toshiba site does not work properly, honestly does not at all. The only driver that works is a winner. Vista driver but when I plugged in her headphones just got pregnant shape, but there is no sound in headphones.

    Can someone help me, please?

    Hello!

I have a Satellite U400 with Windows Vista 64 bit also, and I used the driver on the Toshiba site (Conexant 4.36.7.0).
It works without problems, I can hear sounds with the speakers and headphones.

Maybe you have an old BIOS. After the installation of Windows Vista, I made an update of the BIOS so try that too.
The BIOS you can find also on the Toshiba site.

  • Update the display for Satellite A305-S6861 with Vista (64-bit) driver

    Hi, I want to update the driver for my graphics card. Then I went [which | http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=2059349& rpn = PSAG4U & modelFilter = A305-S6861 & SelCategorie = 3 & selFamily = 1073768663 & selModel = 2059349% 7CPSAG4U] site and update the graphics driver was for Windows XP.

I clicked on the download page link which was ATI Display Driver for Windows XP. Model of my PC was written on the list models involved, but my PC is not a version of Windows XP and don't have ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 (this graphics card was written on the driver installation Guide).

I forgot this page and went to the site Web of ATI. I found driver chart download page which is: [link: http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html]. Chose Vista 64-bit, Radeon and Radeon HD 3400 Series. I should _only_ download the file named "Catalyst Software Suite (64-bit)"? I thought, but I have not downloaded. Because the download that I found on the Toshiba site (that of Windows XP) was 148 MB and the download which is the site of ATI has been 62 MB. Don't know what to do.

Note that there are 2 options in the ATI site.
1 includes: display, integrated, ATI WDM driver Catalyst Software Suite (64-bit)
    2nd includes: 2 different downloads: driver of Download1:Display + Download2:Catalyst Control Center (32 bit)
Which one should I choose (or they are the same)?
1 pilot + integrated driver + software Suite
    2 - driver + Control Center?

I use Windows Vista(64-bit) and I have ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470. Where can I download drivers available for my system?

    Hello!

Now I have a little confused after I read your ad m.

If I understand correctly you are running Vista 64 bit and the Toshiba site you posted I also found drivers for Vista 64 bit.
You can refine the search by Windows Vista 64-bit.

I n t use drivers graphics they are not Toshiba because they don t have a thermal protection and therefore the graphics chip can be damaged.
Then download the drivers of Toshiba.

  • Satellite A300 DVD tray will not open and cause high CPU utilization peaks

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A300 - 1 MM and I have a problem with the optical drive (Mat * un DVD Ram Uj880as):

DVD - RAM plateau sometimes refuse to open. The LED lights up briefly, but still nothing. Windows recognize the drive but the plateau of refuses to open. Eject commands the position of work and management of the computer-> disk management will not work. I can open the tray manually but the optical drive will not read any cd/dvd. No error code in return.

When that happens it cause peaks of high utilization of the processor (from 60 to 100%) in the System Idle Process. Just stop and restart it solve. After that, the laptop also runs fine and the optical drive.

    I replaced Win7 32-bit with a 64-bit version and the problem persist.

    Help, please. Thank you.

I have the same machine with Win7 32 bit and use several players. Everything works perfectly. On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what may be the problem. The configuration of your laptop is not known to us, and we don t know how you set up your operating system and additional applications are preinstalled.

Maybe stupid advice now, but you must install recovery image original Vista that you got with the functionality of your laptop and test with the factory settings. If the same problem occurs we can chat about it.

  • Re: Satellite A300 - Windows Vista cling - what can I do?

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A300 with operating system Windows Vista Home Edition.
After a few weeks of work with my laptop, it cling.
I reinstalled the OS but and it works fine for 1 or two months, then the laptop to hang again.
    October 2008, I bought this laptop and I reinstalled Vista 3 o 4 times.

    What can I do?

You mean that Vista does not answer after some time?
Well my friend, this may be a software problem.

I mean there is no quick fix for these issues, I assume that you have installed and used many different applications on this laptop.
It is possible that one of the applications is causing this problem
It would be also possible that entries in registry and system files have been changed during Microsoft updates

In my opinion, you must use some cleaning as for example the CCLeaner tools.
It s free and it cleans your registry and other files

You should also check the applications that are running while the system would begin to cling
Finally and above all I recommend you memory, you can run a memory test (www.memtest.org, www.memtest86.com) in order to find some problems of memory.

    Good luck

  • 1IZ satellite A200 with Vista crashes every day without no reason

    Hello guys,.

I have a Satellite A200 with Vista Home Premium installed. In the past months, the BONE is suspended every day, I was not able to detect the reason. nothing is having replied to the questionnaire, not even Ctrl-Alt-Delete, the only solution is to stop from the power switch.
I do not found something wrong in the system log, so I do not know what to do. Toshiba PC diagnostic shows everithing OK.

What can I do? Perhaps a cooling problem? A guide for cleaning?

    Thank you.

    Hello

So to be honest, it's hard to say what are the really causes your system to hang. Possible reasons:

    HIV 1-infected
2 problem of file system Os including drivers, programms...
    3 had to be clean
    hardware problem 4

    I recommend:

    1 search for viruses
2 reinstall the drivers (especially as a vga and chipset drivers). Check installed programs
3 use compressed air jet to blow off the dust from the cooling module.

If this does not help, do a fresh install of the operating system. Then we will see what to do

  • Satellite A300 PSAG0A: Vista to XP downgrade question

I just bought a Satellite A300 with the following details:

Model satellite A300/Y00 (exclusive to Dikc Smith Electronics in Australia)
    PSAG0A-02Y009
    2.1 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo T8100
    2 GB RAM DDR2 (667 MHz)
    250 GB SATA HARD drive
    Graphics Intel X 3100 (GM965)
MS Windows Vista Business pre installed
MS WIndows XP downgrade for A300 recovery disk media

Basically, I just turned on and configure everything, nothing about that fact yet, not even other software installed.
I immediately made 2 copies of the recovery of the product for Vista media. So the disc XP and Vista should have all the drivers on them.

I want to install a software particularly (for programming electronic components), but the company said that it is not fully compatible with Vista. Therefore, I would like to downgrade to XP and use it for 6 to 12 months, and later POSSIBLY roll back to Vista.

Now, the information provided by Toshiba are limited with respect to the downgrading to XP. (And there is absolutely nothing about to go back to Vista).
The documentation provided shows four options at retirement:
    1) recover to out-of-box-state,.
    (2) covers the single State of Windows,
    (3) recover without changing hard disk partitions,
    4) recover on a custom size partition. He then goes on to say "Please do not select 'Recover without changing the partitions of hard drive' as a method of recovery." Windows XP cannot be used by the composition of the partition of Windows Vista".

First of all, what are the ramifications of the other options? What is the best/worst one and why?

If I understand correctly, the partitioning of the hard drive must be changed for the downgrade to XP.
But in Vista, there is a separate partition to store data recovery, so that the partition will be changed (lost).
If ever I decide to go back to Vista, the Vista recovery media I created also change the partitioning to the way it was originally?

I dared not touch anything until I'm 100% sure of what needs to be done.
If anyone has any experience with this or advice, I would be grateful for your expertise.
Feel free to be as detailed and technical that you like - I want to 'understand' and not just 'do '.

    Thanks in advance,
    Robert.

    Hi Robert

I put t have Satellite A300 and I don t have an Australian notebook but I m, owner of another European model Satellite with preinstalled Vista operating system!
In any case, I want to share my experience with Vista and XP and of course the recovery procedure on E

First I noticed that the new notebook series is not delivered with the Toshiba Recovery CD but the image recovery is store on the HARD drive and you can create and burn image from own DVD.
    Seems that you already have.

As you already suggested the Vista supports 2 different partitions. A partition is the system partition and the partition of the other, smaller, hidden was created for Vista backup files. So if something goes wrong with your Vista operating system, you can use the repair function on Vista to repair the operating system. In this case, small backup partitions, hidden in necessary.

I also like Xp and that's why I installed it on my laptop. I didn't format t disc installed HARD but the XP on a new created partition.
You can create a partition in Vista's disk management.
In any case, I now have a dual boot OS and I use Vista and XP.

    With regard to the use of the Vista DVD recovery;
If you want to go back to Vista, you will need to boot from the Toshiba Recovery CD and the Vista installation process should begin.
But be aware that the Vista recovery CD would format the whole HARD drive.
It would erase the partitions and remove stored data.
Therefore, you must back up your data before that you would use the recovery CD!

Hope this little info will help you.

    Good bye

    Hello

can I put an equim a110-233 with a 64-bit processor, and if so which are compatible.

    Thank you
    Darrell

    Hello

Update CPU is always a difficult history.
I think you have a good chance to upgrade the processor as long as you use the CPU of the same CPU family.

You could check what processors have been used in other portable Satellite Equium A110 and then you could choose the most powerful CPU used in this series.

In addition, you should check your chipset type. On page Intel you can find details and which processors are supported by this chipset.
