Satellite A305-S6843 - recovery disk anli Does the second HDD too?

I have two TRUE separated different hard disks inside (200 GB each).
I got to a point where I have to start all over again... If I want to use the recovery disk, that I had with the laptop. but then I get into a stage where I can choose "erase the hard drive.

My question is: will it erase ONLY the reader of the OS (c :))? or also in the other drive (d :))?
I have a lot of files in the second drive, I want to keep.

Thanks in advance,
Ofer

> Recovery disk does not erase the second HDD too?
MOM restore disk will delete all data and partition on the first HARD disk.
All the data saved on the second HARD drive are safe and will not be affected.

I have Satellite Pro P300 with two hard drives and I tested it several times.
If you have important data on the first disk HARD just moving to the second HARD drive and install the OS by using Toshiba recovery image.

    Hello Aokank

On this forum you can find many useful sons on new models of laptops (like your) and recovery. I can write the whole strory about and explain how it works, but there is a problem: I am originally from Europe and you have a portable US model.

I'm afraid that the principle can be a little different as here in Europe.

So I recommend you to visit us Toshiba forum under http://community.compuserve.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?webtag=ws-laptop&redirCnt=1 and I hope that someone can give you a precise answer to all your questions.

  • Re: Can I use the other Satellite U400 series recovery disk

I have Toshiba Satellite U400 121. My recovery disk does not work may be due the scratches that I see in it. I took the laptop to the Toshiba Center service and I got a negative support of them. They said, they can't put the Windows Vista because the recovery disk is not there, and they have put Windows XP inside and handed to me.
later I got to know that Windows Xp is not Geninue one. :|

I can still see one of the Partition 'D:' with folder HDDRecovery inside.

So can I use Recovery Disk of all PC model Toshiba laptop other than the Toshiba Satellite U400 121 recovery disk.

In fact, I tried with the other model recovery disk, that at boot with this disk, Recovery Wizard starts up, but since I'm not sure about this one I stopped there and brought out.

Please one of you let me know if you have valuable contributions on this.

    Hello

I don't know Mr. which series Satellite U400-121, it is, but you must use the recovery disc designed specifically for this series of laptop!

Another recovery disc cannot be used because the drivers and tools that have been implemented in the image of Toshiba are not designed for this series of laptop!

By the way; You can order the CD from recovery from here:

    so my questions
    1. where can I get
    2. How do I install it because toshiba and the ccc do not play nice with them

    Hey,.

To be honest I don t understand your problem... Why are you looking for other drivers? What is so important or better? I don t think so

You should read the announcement of Quad. Toshiba offers clean and * pretested * see the drivers they will work 100%. In addition, they have overheating protection so I put t understand why you're looking for other drivers.

Prior to installing the most recent Toshiba display driver, remove the old version and restart your laptop. Then start the freeware CCleaner tool to clean the registry and reboot again. After that install the Toshiba display driver, everything should work now or not?

  • Satellite A300 - is the recovery disk contains all the drivers?

I bought a new Satellite A300 and now I have to reinstall Windows Vista. My question is:

Through the recovery disk I already have all the necessary drivers for my computer?
What I have to download them one by one in line?

    Thank you for your help

    Hello

Yes, the Toshiba Recovery disk contains all the drivers and tools for your laptop. After using the Toshiba Recovery disk, you have the same settings that you have started the laptop the first (out of the box). This means that the disc contains a picture of the factory settings.

The disc is very easy to use: you only have to boot from it and follow the instructions on the screen. Windows, and all drivers will be reinstalled in a few minutes.

My laptop crashed (series Toshiba L305-s5921).
I do not have the restore disks, but I have the recovery disc for my Toshiba A215 series.

Can I pick up my laptop with this drive.

    No!

You cannot use the recovery disc designed for A215 because the A215 is model laptop simply because various who needs different drivers as the L305!

On the recovery disk image contains the operating system, tools and drivers or if you must use the disk recovery different evil drivers would be installed on the L305 and this can lead to other disorders.

  • Recovery disk is deletes the data at the 2nd disk on Satellite A300?

    Hello
I use a laptop Toshiba A300, which has 2 hard drives (250GB). The laptop has Windows Vista Home Edition 32-bit installed, but I want to change for Windows Vista 64-bit, which comes with the recovery disk, in order to use all 4 GB of RAM.

I have all the backup data and move them to the 2nd HARD drive (D, C named first name).

So I wonder if Recovery Wizard will delete the data of the two hard disks or just a 1st.

    Hello

Your laptop was equipped with HARD drive recovery option allows you to create the own Toshiba Recovery disk which would be contains the preinstalled operating system.
In your case the Vista 32 bit.

And Yes, install from the recovery disk format the whole HARD drive and removes all the disk, also of the second partition.

That's why to create the recovery disk before you install or change anything on the HARD drive

  • Satellite L505 - 10K - recovery disk contains only Windows 7 32-bit

    Hello, I have a question.

I bought a Satellite L505 - 10 k a month ago. It came with Windows 7 x 64, 3 partitions (I don't know why, 3? seriously?). I tried to install Linux, delete the last partition, called 'Data' and I screw them completely. I used the recovery DVDs to bring the phone to default settings and I discovered the system recover is Windows 7 x 32.

No idea why the systems are different?

It's just a minor issue, I guess, the only bad thing is that the x 32 system recognizes not the 4 GB of RAM. I use now only 3 GB of RAM.

    Hi Cabo_Nobbdy,

I think you should check your user manual and the specificaitions of your laptop first before starting a question. I founded the following information:
    + Operating system: Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (pre-installed, Toshiba-HDD recovery) and Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 32 - bit (Toshiba-Recovery DVD) +.

This means that the recovery for Windows 7 64-bit disk, you need to create by * you *!
The DVD that came with your laptop recovery contains only 32-bit Windows 7, and normally, you can create the recovery disk using the Toshiba recovery disc creator. I put t understand why you didn't do it because after the first start, you get this message:
    + Important INFORMATION +.

+ your system is equipped with a hard drive recovery system. If you need repair.
+ your computer in the restaurant to original factory State, you can do it directly.
+ HDD (press F8 when you start your computer, choose "Repair your computer" +)
+ and follow the instructions in the menu) or create a media drive bootable recovery to that end. +.

+ Toshiba recommends you create recovery disk medium uses the "Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator' to ensure the +.
+ Hat you are able to restore your computer to the State of origin, installed at the factory, even if your computer +.

But now it s too late for that and you have to order a new Toshiba recovery disc yourself:

  • Allowing Satellite A300-16I recovery disk

I recently bought this laptop and I get this reminder to make a recovery disk, but does not work the link to the program.

When I found the recovery disk program in its original folder it has always refused to open.
My laptop "" just think for a moment and then pretend nothing happened.

Does anyone have a solution for me?
Maybe I could download a working version of this program...?

    Hello

From my own experience after a third system to restart a recovery reminder pops up saying: you must create a recovery DVD.
You said you found recovery disk program in the original record well, as far as I know there is a TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator shortcut on the desktop.
This shortcut allows stars to this application.
If this is not possible, then you can try to recover the laptop again, and then to create the recovery CD.

To start the recovery process you must press the F8 key immediately after starting the system.
Then choose the option called fix your computer and follow the instructions on the screen.

  • Satellite A135-S4666 - recovery disk displays an error message

The hard drive crashed while I replaced it. I am trying to use the recovery disk to take the computer to the "out of the box configuration.

I chose to 'recover' rather than erase the hard drive based on this choice. Then it copies the files from the first disc and pushes me to the second. After putting the other continues to copy files. Finally, she moves more to 'recover now' she does and seems to be using the hard disk newly installed something between 35 and 50% of the task. At this point, I get an error message stating "error recovery" and invites me to press ok to shut down the computer and spits out the CD. The error message is coded 10-FC12-0002. I tried 4 or 5 times with the same result.

Am I supposed to use disc erase first, and then use the recovery mode since it is a new hard drive? Or I have a defective recovery disc?

Any comments or ideas would be greatly appreciated, I do not get the case at this stage.

    Hello

It's not easy to tell if it s a recovery disk problem or if the new HARD drive is the problem. Have you tested a Microsoft disc for example? If the disc of Microsoft is, it seems that your recovery disc is noisy and needs to be replaced. Otherwise the new drive HARD cause this problem.

Check this box to determine the cause of this problem!

    128 GB SSD

    Hi Tony,.

Well, I finally understand that. I removed the RAM that was in it and installed just the 12800 DDR3 4 GB. There was a short video on the internet on Windows errors and he said try it. Well, it worked for me. Then, it was just a question of what the devil the restore program was doing. Guests or lack thereof are terrible, and the only way to know if it still works on something is on the lookout for the activity on the LED on the HARD drive. Thanks for the answer, and I hope one of these patches, either yours or mine, will help someone else. Incidentally he semed to the amount of installed memory. Whenever I went to 8GB I had problems. 6 or less and it was OK. Any manufacturer or speed (HP recommend of course) worked as long as I stayed under the 8GB. Thanks again.

  • Satellite L505-141 - recovery disk contains Windows 7 32 bit

    Hello

I bought my computer in the year around March last. I had with laptop computer operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Lately I think the format of my laptop using the recovery CD that I have receviced with the laptop. I don't know why, but the recovery CD Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit! Why its not 64-bit and 32-bit?

The laptop comes with 6 GB of Ram and Core i5 and I won't enjoy my laptop with 32-bit operating system. Is this normal? I was suppose to get the 32-bit operating system (really wired if you a laptop with 6 GB of memory). This really makes me feel angry. I feel that I have been cheated.

If ts the company I bought the laptop in and not the fault of Toshiba, I ask and investigation or something like that since they really make a bad name for you guys.

Please answer me as soon as possible.

    TNX,
    Andrei Braunstein.

    Hello

Before you wrote things that are not correct, please first check the specs on the Web from Toshiba site and take a look at your * user manual *!

The laptop comes with a recovery disk which is Windows 7 32 bit, so everything is ok with this disc and you got the right pair.

The interesting point is that the recovery disc for Windows 7 64-bit, you must create yourself such as mentioned in * user manual *! You can create this disk preinstalled use Toshiba recovery media creator. You need blank DVDs to create discs and that s all. After that do what you can to restore the preinstalled Windows 7 64 bit every time when you want to.

Now it s too late to do that, but you can order a recovery disc here:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

I can understand you he would do better to use Windows 64 bit on a laptop with 6 GB of RAM but don t forget some old don t on 64-bit applications and 32 bit necessary. In addition I m wondering you n t saw a message that reminds you to create the recovery disk. This message that you get after you first start your computer:
    + Important INFORMATION +.

+ your system is equipped with a hard drive recovery system. If you need repair.
+ your computer in the restaurant to original factory State, you can do it directly.

+ Toshiba recommends you create recovery disk medium uses the "Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator' to ensure the +.

Someone at - it ideas why my recovery disks won't load, all I get is a window box asking what would like to windows do you, like what you get when you insert a video or music disc, I'm sure the last time I used them only, they went directly into the recovery mode [, I had a major flaw which I managed about sort [see disappear down the page IE] but I need to start printing] Thank you

    Hello

    > all I get is a window box asking what would like to windows do you, like what you get when you insert a music disc or vid
This means you want to use the recovery disc in Windows? It will not work.

The point is that you must boot from the recovery disc rather Windows on the HARD drive so until the computer starts to go into the start menu and select the CD/DVD drive like device starting. Make sure that the recovery disk is in the drive and the recovery disk will start. Now follow the instructions on the screen.
