Satellite A305-S6872 - how to reformat without disk?

The user guide has nothing on the reformatting process. I can't find a way to make a record of recovery anywhere on the system. There is a general lack of information on the subject.

Help, please.

Hi mate,

Normally to create a recovery disk, you will need to use the Toshiba recovery disc creator, which is preinstalled on your laptop. With this tool, you can create a bootable recovery disk, where you can restore the settings to factory in a few minutes.
In addition it is also possible to use the function of HARD drive recovery. Therefore, you will find some interesting information in your user manual.

An alternative, you can reinstall Windows using a disc of Microsoft.

    Hello

New laptop models are supplied without recovery CD/DVDs. The recovery image is saved on the HARD drive and you must create a recovery only media. I don't know how it works on US, laptops, but it should be similar with the European specifications. This means, on your desktop, you will find a shortcut for Toshiba recovery disc creator. Use of high quality DVD-R and create recovery media.

Another option is to perform HARD drive recovery. To start press F8 for advanced boot option and check if there is option called repair my computer or something like that. Choose this option and simply follow the menu on the screen.

  • Driver webcam open fail on Satellite A305-S6872

    My problem is the following

I have a laptop A305-S6872 Satellite with a built-in webcam, I had to restore it with the cd provided with the laptop and I reinstalled the assistant webcam software and thought it was but it keeps saying "driver open webcam fail. Please restart camera or computer.

Does anyone know how to fix this

    Hi mate

This message might appear because of some problems of compatibility between the software of the webcam and the 3rd party software such as Skype, Live messenger, etc.

In your case I recommend you remove the software for the webcam of the Setup again.
Then clean the OS using CCLeaner.
After that, you could reinstall the webcam software and must clear the webcam software in msconfig--> startup.

This prevents the software from loading automatically.

  • Satellite L550D-13V - how to recover without recovery disks?

    Hello

I had a big problem. Win 7 Home Premium 64 BIT crashed on my satellite L550D-13V.

I tried to fix it, but it does not work. So I decided to recover via HARD disk utility.
Everything seems to be okay, but ultimately the tool said that errors have occurred. I tried to get it back again, but the process aborted with blue screen "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" this time.

After reboot system told me that no bootmgr is available. I tried to start using the recovery disk, but it also seems to be defective because the system cannot boot from the disks.

And there is my problem. I cannot start / retrieve now. Volume D seems to be OK - the HARD disk utility files are still available, but I can't create a new recovery disks and it is not possible to start in disk utility.

    You have any ideas?

Thanks in advance and best regards
    Danny

    Hello

    The story is strange
I m wondering why you are not able to boot from the recovery disc?
Have you used the recovery disk created in the past or have you tried this drive for the first time?

However, with regard to the error message: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
I googled for that and it sounds like it could be linked to the fault memory.
Perhaps one of the failures modules.

Of course, this is just a personal opinion

If a HARD drive folder is available on your HARD drive, then there is a small chance of getting the recovery of HARD drive to work. Here's an interesting thread:

  • How to reformat without the recovery disks

Computer my uncle is badly infected, and we want to bring a guy from computer to have it cleaned.  The problem is, my uncle had a lot of personal or sensitive information on the machine, all over the place, and it is extremely difficult to locate all the, then remove them before taking his PC to repair.

Is it possible to erase everything on your PC?  He lost his system recovery disks.  We have the system recovery disk to another computer with the same OS, can we use (just to clear the information)?

It has a Dell Inspiron, OS = XP SP3

    Thank you very much.

  • Satellite L300-110 - how to recover without losing any data on the HARD drive?

    Hi all
    I have a Toshiba Satellite L300-110

The question is how can I recover my laptop with the recovery DVD without losing all the data located in the hard drive?

I confirm the information published by Luke.
The HARD drive and all other partitions should be formatted using the recovery disk.
Why? The recovery disc sets the laptop to factory settings and to this end, the HARD drive must be formatted first.

That is why it s is strongly recommended to back up the data if you want to use the recovery disk.

  • reformat without disk

I need to reformat my pc but can not find my installation disc supplied with the pc or the windows vista disc.

It is anyway I can do this without a disk, I already backed up all I want to keep on an external hard drive

    PC is an acer aspire

Most laptops and many OEM desktop computers (HP, Sony, etc.) come with a picture of factory restore on a special partition on the hard drive. The factory restore process is normally called by pressing a key of function (such as F11) to start the computer. There will be a message as to what function key press the screen when you start your computer. You can also consult the manual of your computer or the computer mftr.'s site, or contact technical support to learn how to restore your computer if you plant from each computer mftr. He does it differently - sometimes even between models.

These machines also generally have a utility to create physical recovery disks in case the hard drive needs to be replaced or the factory restore image is somewhat damaged. If you have not created the recovery image recovery physical and/or damaged disks, contact technical support of computer mftr. to order a set of recovery disks. It is normally very expensive, around $25-50.

Then contact Acer to learn how to restore your computer to factory State or buy recovery disks.

  • Satellite M45: Can I do recovery without disk

    Hello

My DVD player does not work because of the VCD virtual drive program. (I hate this prog)
When I try to uninstall Virtual VCD, everything goes crazy and no executable can be run.

So I have to install the original image using the image on the HARD drive.
I did dozens of times on other laptops (CTRL + F11) but I could not know how I can do it on my Toshiba Satellite M45.

    I appreciate your help
    Thank you

    > Can I do recovery without the disc?

What to say I created a clean image of the operating system file using Norton Ghost utility and saved this file on the second partition.
In this case I can still use this image file to restore the C partition any and I do not need the recovery CD.

I ve made a good experience with utility Ghost and in my opinion it s one of the best tools to create images and backups.

    Best regards

Anyone got the direct link to it?

    Hallo Kitsune

Try reinstalling the value-added package. You can download it from the Toshiba support page. If you have laptop model please visit http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_modSel.jsp

    Hallo Glead

S manuals are described that this button is not for 2 functions, but only for one. For the MUTE to turn the lights. I have too many Satellite A300 and this button is how to turn off the LEDs only.
Take a look at this symbol, and you will see that it is not pregnant but symbol of light.

Compare with symbol on the ESC key and you will see that this is not the same.

Why you have updated the firmware of your webcam? It's a not supported Toshiba update because it can t be downloaded on the official website of Toshiba. Where did you find?

The problem is these updates happen on your own risk, and now you have destroyed your webcam. The firmware by default peut t be downloaded on the page of Toshiba.

In your case you need professional assistance service authorized in your country. Maybe guys are able to reflash the original firmware so get in touch with the guys and ask for help.

Select a program and then click on uninstall.
