Satellite A350-20J and Touchpad

Hello! Is it possible to set the sensitivity of the touchpad on my laptop?
I have a Satellite A350-20J (according to the label at the bottom of the laptop), a PSAL6E-04800GRU (from Toshiba utility to diagnoses). I bought this laptop in Moscow.
It is already annoying to work with it because this touchpad is so sensitive that I'm always unintentionaly "of the clicks' here and there, sometimes with very undesirable effects.

Another question:
At the time I write this message I not was still able to find the exact model of my laptop in both English and Russian of Toshiba.

1 + rest of the UK site, I can http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/home/ there is a link at the top left 'click here to find your laptop. Click on. A pop-up opens with 2 methods to locate my phone:
1.1 - Select family, series, or model you are looking for: I chose "Series Satellite A350" then the next combo offers just A350-20s. This isn't mine!
1.2 - enter the reference number you are looking for: I enter the number of the tag from my laptop, click on search and get one "part of entry number was not found.

2 + ok, ok, I bought this computer in Moscow, maybe I need to go on the Russian site. I'm going, of course, everything is in Russian but no option to change the language to English (my mother tongue is not English or Russian). No problem. Navigate the site until http://ru.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/home/ and before you click on a link that says "D? D ° D¶D¼D¸N? DΜ D· D´DΜN? N?, N? N? D¾D±N? D½D ° D¹N? N D¸? D²D¾D¹ D½D¾N? N? D±N? Dº"(click here to find your laptop). A popup opens, but now with 3 ways to locate my phone.
2.1 - requested for the partnumber opening. I enter the mine, but still get a not found.
2.2 - a verification tool, kind of these ActiveX trying to detect my model, again without success.
2.3 - select the family of series, etc... This time 11 models are available, but the mine is not among them. The closest is A350-22J. But not mine.

Then, why is it not my laptop on those lists... ?

Thank you:
Judge Carlos Muro

Hello Carlos

At first, I must say that you can change the sensitivity of the touchpad. It can be done within the parameters of Synaptics.
Please go to control panel > mouse > device settings tab > settings button > in the next window you will find the menu on the left and the last sensitivity option there.
Try to change the touch sensitivity here.

The whole story on the identification of the laptop model is interesting, but in the end I did not understand why is it so important to you.
Everything you need to know is that you have model PSAL6E.

With the help of this part number on the download page, you will be able to download good pilots and all the other stuff of Toshiba laptop.
It will be very nice to know why is this identification so important to you.

The driver for Win XP for Satellite A350 are not available at this moment didn't find anything on the European driver Toshiba page.
To use these keys, you will need the driver, tool called controls.

    I found this driver/tool for Satellite A300.

I guess you didn't read all these messages correctly

The user Symbian wrote that her webcam works fine! He used the software/driver for the Toshiba page as well

Since the Skype reports an unknown error too, I guess that this whole thing has noting to do with the webcam software, but with your Windows 7 installed!

Seems a registry keys, files or all what it might be, are confused upward!
In your case, I would try a new installation! Install Win 7 and the Toshiba drivers/software.
    Then test the webcam.

Don t install any 3rd party software before you would test the webcam!

  • Satellite A350-20 q - Touchpad does not

    Hello members,

I have a Satellite A350-20 q that is running a Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit operating system. The problem is with the touchpad which stops working when the laptop is connected to the
AC power supply and everything that happens, I can feel the static on the buttons near the tablet which are metallic.

The touchpad works fine when it runs on battery and it causes a lot of trouble because I move around a bit and can't take my mouse around.

I called Toshiba support, but all said, it was to replace the charger that does not make any sense to me but I try, and again, it doesn't help much.

The touchpad works very well when Vista is installed and is not updated, but once the system is fully updated it starts to cause problems and I can't yet determine which update is the cause of the problem that there are many Windows vista updates are installed.

    Help, please!
I installed all the drivers and have the latest synaptic driver installed on the system right now.

    Thank you.

    Abhishek

    > I had called support of Toshiba, but all said, it was to replace the charger that does not make any sense to me but I try, and again, it doesn't help much.

I think that this logic because the touchpad does not work ONLY when the AC adapter is connected.
    I found this thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?MessageID=141976𢪘
He has helped about the similar issue and replacement AC adapter!

    > The touchpad works very well when Vista is installed and is not updated, but once the system is fully updated it starts to cause problems and I can't determine same update is the cause of the problem that it is has many windows updates vista that are installed.

How a windows update to do the buttons on the touchpad statically? It is meaningless for me so be it hardware or software s problem

If this software (update of the OS) then deliver the power adapter should not all affect on the buttons on the touch pad but if there s a hardware problem, then the OS updates should not affect the functionality of the touchpad as well

I think that it s a strange question and you should get in touch with a local ASP (partner) in your country in order to check the touchpad.

  • Satellite L850 - USB and touchpad stopped working

    Hey guys

I got this laptop from toshiba Satellite L850 (faptop) and I am having some problems.

When I turn it on nothing is wrong.
When I hit the first screen after registration on (windows 8) with all the options of what to do (office, internet etc.) none of my USB ports work and my laptop mouse (touchpad) doesn't work that way.

The only keys that work are the F-keys (F1, F2, etc) I was wondering if anyone knows what's the problem with him.

I saw a message when I was turning right at the first "loading screen" (black red background text "TOSHIBA" or something else he said) saying that he was going to scan C drive and fix it.
    He finished and turns off.

Being a person I turned it back and that is when the problem occurred.
Before this problem came to me was to play counter strike and 10 minutes after it happened.

If anyone can help I will appreciate it. Thank you.

I think that there is some sort of software problem because the system has started the automatic repair process. Of course, this repair process touched the keyboard, the touchpad and USB device.

I assumed that the updating of the system, reset or restore would solve your problem and this is why I think you should start with the option refresh your PC without affecting your files.

This option should be selected if your PC is not made as in the past and you don't know why, you can refresh your PC without delete all of your personal files or change your settings.
    To refresh your PC
    1. start charm bar (Win key + C), click on settings, then change PC settings.
    2. click on update and restore and then click recovery.
    3. under Refresh your PC without affecting your files, click Start.
    4. follow the instructions on the screen.

If this would not help you, you could _Restore PC to the point of beginning at the time. _
To restore your PC to an earlier point in time
1 win key + X and choose Control Panel.
    2. Enter the collection in the control panel search box, and then click recovery.
    3. click on open system restore and then follow the instructions.

In the worst case you will need the laptop initial configuration using the Toshiba HDD recovery recovery.

  • Re: Satellite C660 - keyboard and touchpad are not working

    Satellite C660 - 28H

    Win7 64 bit

Kaskpersky antivirus deleted the file 'system32/driver/cekbfilter.sys' for reason of keylogger (Kaspersky Support says error of file anti-virus, Kaspersky is not virus or virused), and after I restarted OS I find keyboard and touchpad not working do not at all.

Also I already asked to [US Toshiba Forum | http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/Keyboards-Touchpads/satellite-c660-cekbfilter-sys-deleted-and-no-keyboard/td-p/364673] and he has been Advisor to ask here also

I can't use Windows recovery (have no recovery point) and I don't want full recovery of factory default - there are many flexible and personal data stored.

So here how to get the drivers? As I have already said to US Toshiba Forum - I already tried to delete the driver of pad touch and installation of synaptic official site and I haven't changed anything.

I also think that antivirus can remove not only the file, but some patches to remove the pilot "wrone.

Eh, it's very stupid situation now. I never had such problems, but it will be interesting to find solution to this.

Have you tried to connect a mouse outside, just to see if this can work? I want to say that it is much easier to use Windows with the mouse and choose different options.

If it works, try to open the Device Manager and properties for the keyboard. You will find the option to update the driver. Check if you can find some update driver. The keyboard uses the standard Microsoft so f driver, you may be in line that some drivers are.

Of course the best solution and easiest for you is recovery facility. If you don t want to do this try to find right drivers using this driver update option.

One last thing: If you have a lot if important saved on the HARD disk you can remove your laptop and plug it into the other PC / laptop as external device and make a backup. After doing this you can install the recovery image and the problem is solved.

  • Satellite A100 - keyboard and Touchpad are not working

    Hello

Toshiba Satellite Pro A100 to my daughter has developed a few flaws.

First of all, the keyboard displays random characters like a stuck key. for example, if Google or Wordpad will be randomly type a single character over and over again even when no key is pressed. Sometimes it will also open windows or programs as sank the "enter" key, or scroll through the icons on the desktop.

Second, the touchpad is inadmissible and cursor operation is not possible since the touchpad or buttons. I don't know if the two are related.

She assures me that she has not spilled anything on the laptop, so any help would be appreciated to correct these mistakes.

    Thank you

    Hello

Can you notice the same problem with external input devices?

Otherwise it s time for a service provider allowed. I think the keyboard and the touchpad should be replaced and the technicians can help you.

On the Toshiba site, you can find a list of authorized service provider.

    Good luck! :)

  • Satellite A350 - cannot disable Touchpad

    Hello

I bought my new computer A350 laptop 3-4 weeks ago and I'm loving the sound QUALITY!

In any case, I want to disable the mouse pad, but I can't. I have the guid of the user on my laptop, that says: Touchpad: by pressing FN + F9 toggles the function of touch pad. Unfortunately it does not work! When I press it nothing happens, I don't see a change in the touchpad icon, which apparently, so well done must have a big red X or something like that, but again, this does not happen.

I also looked at the properties of the mouse of my mouse, and when I select the Advanced tab, then move the settings of the feature..., under the touch pad settings, there is no option to disable that is extremely strange. There is another button of parameters for what can I press on, but there is no option to turn it off.

What should I do to disbale the touchpad, because at the time of writing these, pressing FN + F9 does not work?

    > Hi, thanks for the response. I am running Windows vista Service Pack 1 Home Premium that was already installed when I bought it. I don't know if I'm running the factory settings, nor have I ever heard of this?

If you use the operating system preinstalled by Toshiba, then you use Notepad with the settings ;)

In your case I would recommend reinstalling the touchpad driver; Synaptics and Alps Electric.
In addition, there is a utility called tool Support Flash Cards.
This module is an essential component of Windows systems and it is necessary to other original programs for TOSHIBA to work properly.

The relocation of the VAP (value added package) is also recommended.

  • Failing satellite C660 - keyboard and Touchpad

In an attempt to get the FN key works again, I installed the last "Flash Cards Support Utility', which has greatly exacerbated the problem. No keys on keyboard work (there are still be able to go to it, that the number lock light) and the touchpad does not either, with its buttons.

I guess it was something to do with that I installed everything but I don't really know where to start. I have a usb mouse and a keyboard to spare so can't use the laptop, but would be very grateful for any help in fixing it.

    Thank you

Before the issue of a debate: you have a problem with FN keys only or you may not use the entire keyboard?
What is with touchpad? Touchpad may be disabled? Have you installed Synaptics touchpad driver?
It is really not easy to say what is happening out there, but perhaps you should install recovery image and test the functionality with the factory settings. I mean, with the new installation of the OS, everything should be OK. If this is not the case, there must be a hardware problem.

  • Satellite A500 keyboard and Touchpad freeze but the computer is still active

Hi, I hope that some might be able to help me with this frustrating problem.

Keyboard and mouse on my laptop have, during the last 4 months, been freezing almost randomly.

This problem occurs only with the keyboard and notebook computer touchpad. If I use an external USB mouse, I have no problem.

Please note that this is not all the freezing system. Once the keyb + touchpad freeze has occurred, I can always plug in a USB mouse and continue to use the computer.

    I have windows 7 64-bit.

And what model of laptop do you have?
Are you using the Toshiba recovery image or your own installation of the OS?

  • Satellite A350 - 22F EasyMedia touchpad does not work

Right next to the switch, there are 6 touch buttons.
Normally, they light when I press on them, if the computer lights are out and if all the lights are on the button I pressed on flashes.

Now the other lights (like the one that says TOSHIBA) still work, but I can no longer use these buttons.
I have already installed value-added package and it changed nothing.

Can someone tell me what to do and how to make them work again?

    Thank you.

    Hello

As you have already mentioned, the VAP (value added package) controls these buttons.
So I think the new installation of VAP should help get these buttons work again.
Don't know why this didn't help in your case, but I think that you should try to reinstall this package once more.

Before installing the PPV, you must uninstall the old version.
Do this and clean the registry using other tools like CCleaner.
After that, restart the laptop and install the latest version of VAP.
I assume you are using Windows 7. So check and download the VAP updates the most recent series of Satellite.

    Good luck

  • Satellite A350 - how to install common Module and Hotkey Utility?

Any of you know, I started my computer (Satellite A350) Vista and installed XP Professional.

But when I want to install "Toshiba Hotkey utility" it says that I need to first install the "common Module. So I downloaded it from the Toshiba site (for win XP), but when I want to install it it says "this software utility does not support this system." and the installation ends. So my question is - how can I install or what I need to install to everything be all right?

I need "Utility Hotkey" for my special keys on laptop.

PS of course, I have XP oryginal.

    Hello

Well, I think that's why it doesn't work, this support of the Satellite A350 doesn t XP. On the Toshiba, you can get only Vista 32 bit and Vista 64-bit drivers.

For what model of laptop have you downloaded the tools?
In your case, I would try the utilities for Satellite A300. It is similar to yours, and there you can get all of the XP utilities.

In the worst case, you can use the special keys on XP. :(

  • Re: Gift of functions keyboard FN + F1/12 ' work on Satellite A350

    Hello

I bought a new laptop Satellite A350 from 13 to about a year with a Win Vista Premium Home (Hungarian) operating system installed on it. It works beautifully.

Not so long ago, I upgraded to Win 7/32 bit OS (Hungarian) and it seems that I've lost functions FN + F. If I push the FN button with any F key (for example. FN + F6) nothing happens. I can't disable the touchpad or (FN + F9).
Only two features that reacts with the FN are numbers (FN + F11) and arrows (FN + F10).
I already checked the Alps Pointing Device driver and it says it works correctly and up-to-date). I also read the Thread of NVIDIA, "Satellite A350 - cannot disable Touchpad post: 17 June 2009 22:11" but I became wiser. I'm probably too blonde for such things. (I would like to apologize in advance for blondes to this note).
Could you please give me some suggestions.
A quick response would be appreciated.

    Thank you very much.
    Best regards, surveys

    I agree with the user orevious;
You need the VAP (value added package) and utility of Flash in order to get memory card Support the FN keys work correctly.

As the VAP software and card Flash is not portable model bound, you can use the tools available to the other laptop models. for example, Satellite L500

I've got Toschiba Satellite A350 PSAL6E and Vista 32 bit Home Premium. The release of the battery itself for 10% by night (after 24 hours). I checked the Wake On LAN in the BIOS option and disabled (in Windows). And what is happening all the time.

Laptop has only a few months so is this normal? What I need to use warranty repair?

This behavior is nothing unusual, and I noticed on my Satellite A300. The last time I checked it battery lost 7% of its power during the night. You can contact the closest service and ask why this is happening, but you will see that they will confirm that it is normal and only occur not only on your laptop model.
