  You can activate the Device Manager to view hidden devices by following the steps mentioned below:

  To work around this behavior and display devices when you click Show hidden devices:

  1. Click Start, point to programs, point to Accessories, and then click command prompt.
  2. At a command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:

     Set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices = 1

  3. Type the following command a command prompt and press ENTER:

     Start devmgmt.msc

  4. Troubleshoot the devices and drivers in Device Manager.

  Uninstall all software and drivers for printers:

  When you need to uninstall a driver completely, the best and safest method is to use the uninstaller of the device (if it has one).   all fixed. has crossed my computer to start then click HP click HP and open list. Went to my printer-clicked on my printer and clicked on the icon list to see if it worked correctly.   The recent slowdown of my C: drive (160 GB, about 75% full) convinced me - if it's the cause - to order a new drive to replace the old, and I think I can copy everything through a new relatively easily.

  Now I like my previous organiser backups - full, on an external HD - will be any use to reinstall it on the new drive C: and so will of course take one as soon as a new POSSIBLE thereafter, but if the new drive as a different ID or anything else, is it also will cause problems with the catalogue the organizer before I even get there?
