Satellite A40 will not power

My A40 Sat will not contribute to that. In the light is orange flashing constantly. I previously had a problem with the AC adapter failed and replaced it with a temporary universal adapter which worked very well so far.
It of because I'm a foreigner and can not get the original Toshiba.

Hello

I guess you used is not not original and not supported AC adaptor / CC. I guess that the problem came from the AC adapter / CC.
If the power supply microprocessor detects a malfunction, the DC IN icon flashes orange. The boss of blinking indicates an error. The blink code must convert the hexadecimal error code.
This error can be read by the Service of Toshiba partner. It can give you a specific answer what s wrong.

  • Satellite A40 will not start or start the BIOS

    Hello

I have a portable Satellite A40 2 days ago decided to turns off while I was on the internet, and now it does not restart. I tried removing the battery and leave overnight, but it still will not start. When give you it power outlet, the AC LED is green and if you press the button power turns on the green power light, but that's all, the HARD drive light does not illuminate, the fan does not come on, no sound from the HARD drive and nothing on the screen, not even the backlight. You can also feel the heatsink gets hot (without excess however)

If you insert a CD, you can here read the disc, and find things out there, too, now the power button still cut off the laptop.

If anyone has any advice on what may be the cause, or any way I can get the machine to reboot again, that would be greatly appreciated.

  • Satellite A40 will not recover!

My computer failed. Early on, I get a message: "disc error occurred - press ctrl alt del to restart." To do if I get the Toshiba logo and it defaults to the same message!

With the computer off, I insert recovery disc 1, press and hold the 'C' and turn to the disc works.
Recovery disk 1, seems to be in market and 48% application disk 2, I insert the disc 2. This seems to complete successfully and invites me to press on "ctrl alt del' to restart."

After that, it goes back to the very first message I received: "a disk read error occurred - press ctrl alt del to restart!

    Hello

I googled a little and I was very surprised how many forums and how users with different laptops and desktop computers have reported the same problem. In the end, I noticed that it there is no solution for this and some of then have corrected this on different ways (Exchange of HARD drive, repair MBR.), various parameters of the BIOS etc..

I'm really out of idea what may be wrong in your case, but I guess that there must be a problem with the HARD drive. The fact is that the recovery procedure works well. As far as I know during the procedure of recovery MBR will be crushed and I don t believe that there may be a problem. In any case, I recommend you to check the HARD drive. As far as I know that many HARD drive manufacturers have different demands of HARD disk check as "Test of fitness shaped disc. Google a bit and you will find them.

If possible, also try to swap the HDD and test with another.

  • Satellite A100 - will not charge the battery

    Hello

I have ned to help. My Satellite A100 will not charge the battery. He works the power adaptor for the led indicates charging status, battery shows 1% of loading tatus information, but none does change - no loading any time. When disconnected everything just stops off like normal desktop.

I've already put battery in and out, made upgrades to the antivir software, makes Toshiba controls, tests, but what ever he did did not any change. If there is no way for restoration of battery how to check what the problem is I have no second battery or AC I can always buy new batttery but I don't know if the old one is broken and weather new would work properly?

    Best regards
    pawelg

    Hi pawelg,

I agree with the user above. The battery can be charged only up to 500 times, and after that, it must be replaced. I think it's the case now, I mean that everything works correctly on the AC adapter so I think that the battery must be the reason for this.

By the way: you can buy a new battery to an authorized service provider. ;)

  • Equium A60-157 will not power

    Hi people!

Could someone offer a bit of expertise and tell me whether or not the series Equium A60 - 157 has a center pin in its socket? I need to know that my laptop doesn't have one and it will not power! I'm deeply frustrated because I paid at the time £999 and it doesn't work!

I have a feeling that the PIN has cracked and is now part of my dc adapter but I need to be sure before I get it fixed!

Also if this is the case anyone Kow how much it may cost to do fix an indicative maybe!

    Cheers for your help!

    Nick

    Hi Nick,

Yes, I think the A60 use an outlet that has a central pin. The CAP at the end of the head of the AC must have a central hole. You can find that the spindle broke and is now stuck in the plug on the power cord. This is not a rare event on the series of satellites, laptops.

The bad is more Servicers will simply replace the motherboard (where the socket is together) rather than perform a repair to the component level. It is obviously a costly option for you, but is probably more faster/easier for the repairman.

I have, in the past, tried unsuccessfully to find a source for the plug for my A30 (just in case) but I only managed to find a supplier who could provide a component of second hand provided by a junk motherboard. :-(

    Kind regards

  • Workstation Dell Precision T7400 will not power with ATI Radeon 5970 installed

    Hello

I had my dream, the monster bi - GPU ATI Radeon 5970 video card and installed in my T7400 but the system will not start, all I get is a fast fan rotation and a kind of sounds from food, a bit like "Brrrnt, click on" led me to believe that the power supply could not handle my video card.

The video card requires an 8pin and 6-pin power plug. When I plug the 8-pin and 6-pin and turn on the computer, is a no-go as shown above. When only the power plug 6-pin I plugged the PC sounds like it will start, the power of fans but no display as I expect.

I tried this video card into the two PCI-Express slots with the same failure as a result. The computer works fine with the Nvidia Quadro 3700 in it... using a 6 power connector pins.

I got the ATI Radeon HD 5970 video card in a store of the local computer and it had tested ($15) because I didn't test it in a spare computer and video card passed with flying colors...

That's why I thought my 1000 Watt power supply was a problem, so as a bet, I ordered a replacement off eBay and received a sweater to work more the wiring harness and completely replaced the two who has a job to say the least! Have you tried to replace the wire bundle? a lot of work...

I got it all back together, crossed my fingers and prayed and tried again and the same thing... NO LUCK... I put the graphic card Nvidia Quadro 3700 back in and the system of power like a charm.

What on earth could it be the cause for it? I REALLY want to get this video card works in this system.

I even tried a bios update and carefully watched the card mother and everything that I could to see if there's... nothing exploded capacitors...

Please HELP - I want to get my game...

    Wesley

I think I found the solution and I would like to mention it here to help others if they get him...

A: the power of Dell for the T7400 was designed to produce five rails 12 volts @ 18 AMPS each and the video card requires approximately 45 to 50 amps to work properly. Video cables (one with a 8 pin) and 6-pin on the harness even seems to only provide amps 18 or more and the computer will not power because power protection circuit sees too many amps being requested by a 'rail' and turns off immediately...

I went to electronics of FRY in San Jose and bought a few cards that helped divide the current between different sources, such as the cables of the hard drive and video.

B: I have a small battery backup power unit and my T7400 was plugged into the saved game... When I got the video card to work, he could make a beep loud and after minutes cutting my T7400 due to the mainstream power support... I plugged the computer into a 'surge protector' but not battery backed up to the slot and since then had no problems...

Now after several tests including FurMark, my graphics card stress works very well in this system... This is due to an unfortunate design in the T7400 power supply and wiring... Now that I have this solved, I hope that someone else can benefit...

Get an adapter like this one, it allows to separate the power sources for the 8 power connector pin and use the PIN 6 original which is connected to the Dell printer condition 8 pin adapter, for the 6-pin slot... hope that makes sense... by trial and error, you got it right!

  • Satellite U400 will not usually start upward

    Hi all

    I have a Toshiba Satellite U400-217 (PSU44E) running Windows 8.

Worked fine until a week ago. Now, when I turn it on, the lights are, there is a memory hard drive spin (1 second) - and then nothing. Above the keyboard lights stay on, but the screen remains black.

I read a use Reset where you take the battery and the power cable on and press and hold power for 30 seconds, then plug the power cable in, starting at the top, stop, reinsert the battery and start again.

However, the machine still primer not after 30 seconds the hold button. I always get just the lights and nothing else.

However, the machine will start usually fine on an attempt to out all 30 or more.

It's boring - ideas or suggestions very welcome.

    Thank you very much

    KaiBosh

    > However, the machine will start usually fine on an attempt to out every 30 or more.

In my opinion, you should first check the HARD drive
A friend of mine installed Win 8 on the new computer laptop from another manufacturer
After a while that the laptop will not start I thought its something wrong with the card mother, but in the end it was just a HARD drive failure

To be honest I n don't know if his only problem disk HARD but in my opinion, the HARD drive is one of the first pieces that need to be checked
OK, in the worst case, it could be possible that dysfunction of this mobo.

  • Satellite L300D will not start

    Hello

I have a satellite L300D 11v. Power I have three lights green, power, suite and battery, DVD looking for some time nothing happens.

    Tried many things.
Interchangeability and remove the ram with restarts
    Removing and replacing HD
Remove the battery, hold the power button for a minute then power application and try to turn on,.
    As above with the battery.
None of the above has worked, I suspect either of the BIOS chip lost his memory or it is fried.
I will try to reinstall the BIOS memory, but without the work of the OS I'm not sure how do.
And I'm not sure that the update of the BIOS I downloaded from Toshiba is correct because of the manual I downloaded was the L350, and yes I have enter the correct details to try three times. Neither seem to be able to know which is the BIOS. I would be grateful if someone could suggest what's wrong with the laptop or the update of the BIOS with the laptop in its current state. And if anyone knows what variant of the BIOS, is that I would also be grateful for this information.

P.S. I noticed that the same problem was raised on August 12, 2012 with no resolution found.

On this virtual path t is not easy to offer accurate diagnosis and to say with certainty what the problem is here, but somehow, I think that your BIOS chip is damaged. BIOS update will not help you with that.
When you start your laptop is stays on or turns off after a certain period of time?

  • Satellite M30 will not battery run

My Satellite M30 will work no longer battery. The battery is charged to 100%, but if you unplug the power outlet, the pc just shuts. I could try to remedy this?

    Hello

It seems that you did something wrong during the power connector to solder.
Unfortunately, without trial and additional devices it s not easy to say what's wrong.
In this case, I recommend requesting the service for diagnostic tests and a solution.

  • Satellite L300 will not Windows load when using AC adpater

L300 I used for 2 1/2 years has now developed fault because it will run when it is connected to the power supply - it won't start Windows. Laptop will charge of battery and then as usual using the battery. Then when connect it powers down and no sector will not start Windows.

It is fine if I want to use that 2 hours and then recharge the battery and restart then disconnected from the main supply - which I did not I can't keep charging every 2 hours.

I have reloaded windows with all updates of nominal and have tried to use different power adapter - same question.

I do not understand why the L300 charges & works by using the battery, but does not work when it is connected to the power supply?

Has anyone else had a similar problem? or knows how to solve?
Do I need a BIOS update? or is it a more serious problem that does not work the power regulator?

    > Laptop will charge of battery and then as usual using the battery

Hmm its strange usually if the AC adapter is defective, then s battery should not charge it is difficult to believe that this matter would be linked to the faulty adapter. In my opinion it of mobo problem and the solution might be an expensive
