Satellite A500 - 1HK Black Screen when I play a game

Hi guys!

I have the black screen problem when I play a game for 2 to 3 minutes. I gave the phone service and they said that there was dust in the fan.
They cleaned but the problem is still there...

Help me please

Can you please write more than two sentences?
Have you noticed that by playing only?
Is it happens while playing a game only or you write about a general problem?

Have you noticed the same behavior when you use your laptop for other activities?

    Hey Buddy,

This occurs only on the games or the windows too?

Are you running the factory settings or did you do your own installation of Windows?

Maybe that's a problem with the display driver. You must reinstall the latest driver from the Toshiba page. Don t use the nVidia drivers because they are not pre-tested:

    Hmm... It's strange...
The problem of memory could be responsible for BSOD, but if this BSOD appears only using USB drive then I would recommend testing other external USB HDD.

You should also try to update the driver from chipset since the chipset USB ports driver controls

    Hello

    Check the HARD drive!
Use the tool called Drive Fitness Test which can be downloaded for free.
This tool creates a startup disk that is running a HARD drive test.

By the way; have you tried recovery disk to reinstall the OS?
Usually, HARD drive recovery can be started by pressing F8 (when starting laptop) and then you must choose option fix my computer that contains HARD drive recovery.
But maybe this option does not exist anymore if you have already tried a fresh install of the OS

  • I get a black screen when I play videos in Windows Media Player and Windows Media Center.

Until recently, all worked well for a long time. Now when you try to watch live TV or a DVD, I get a black screen with sound in Windows Media Center and trying to watch a DVD in Windows Media Player I also get a black screen with sound. The controls are there and functioning normally. DVDs are normally visible in the K-Lite Media Player Classic.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, a tuner TV of SiliconDust HD Homerun networked and a videocard ATI Radeon 4550. I have all the latest updates.

I found and tried many recommendations of the Internet for problems like this, and none helped.

The video card driver is the latest provided by ATI to Microsoft for Windows Update and is dated from 19/04/2011. I tried to install the latest Catalyst software and driver from the ATI site, which does nothing to help, and then uninstalled. These drivers provide no option to adjust the hardware acceleration.

I had an older version of K-Lite codec package installed. The problem does not change if I have the old version, the last 32 + 64 bit version or no version installed.

In Control Panel, I tried to disable Windows 7 media, reset their reactivation components and reboot again. There is nothing.

I had an older version of installed package from Cyberlink. The problem remains the same if I have the old version, the version the most recent or any installed.

I tried to uninstall all Apple software: QuickTime, iTunes, etc. There is nothing to help.

I tried to create a new user account; same problem there.

I have VMware and a virtual machine that is running 64-bit Windows 7 Professional. In this machine, I can view DVD normally with Windows Media Player, using the same physical DVD drive. I don't have Media Center set up in this machine.

Title photo: original No. in Media Center and Media Player

The problem is now resolved. I removed the software installed probably because the problem started, and Cisco Webex, which I did not need, was probably the culprit, although I'm not 100% sure.

Thanks to those who have tried to help.

    Hello

It's my generic how updates of appropriate driver: (update your video/display driver).

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your
System. For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address
of the driver, description, version, product name, company that created the driver, and
    more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

To check system drivers manufacturer as replacements and camera manufacturer who are most
current. Control Panel - device - Display Adapter Manager - note the brand and
fill out the template tab of the driver for your card video - double-click - write down the
the version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind
certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver
    stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd
evening with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers you have.

Now, go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration), and then
Site of the manufacturer of the device (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions.
(Review of the BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system while there).

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT
    After each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you install
actually arises. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed
(particularly that audio drivers) so install a driver - reboot - check is to be sure
    installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

How to install a device driver in Vista Device Manager
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-Device-Manager-install-driver.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable driver facilities in
Windows updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it won't install drivers
who will be generally older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver can
HIDE (right click on it) and then go get new ones manually if you wish.

  • Satellite A210-151: black screen when changing Windows

    Hi people,

and another question, mainly to check if there is a bug already known.

Suddenly, the screen goes black and the laptop freezes without any responses on strikes. This happened about four times in the last eight weeks, and the only action I can attribute this behavior is to change from one window to another, or to open a new window in Vista (pre-installed version of Toshiba).

I have problems to work with some applications, however, especially Wings3D what all doesn t start. It is most likely a problem of display driver, but Toshiba s, last date is may, old version of catalyst), and of course original ATI drivers can't be installed on the machines. Or does anyone know a work around for this kind of problem?

    Michael

    Hello Michael

Sorry to ask but is Wings 3D designed to run under Vista OS?

Any display questions is not easy to talk much, but to be honest, I can't imagine, it comes up with the clean operating system preinstalled. I guess this is the result of the customization of the operating system.

  • Satellite A500 - crashes and restarts when I play games

    Help, please

For these last months, I had a problem with my laptop crashing and restarting in 10-20 minutes from a game.

Please help, give me ideas or tell me how to find out what the problem is, I have read a few other discussions to talk about questions of heat but no real answer on how to solve the problem.

    Help, please
    Thank you
    D

    Hi Dale.Johnston,

Overheating would be a typical pattern of this behavior. I mean, that's if the laptop has a higher internal temperature and it will immediately fit to protect the equipment. Then it the normal behavior of s from overheating.

Overheating may have different reasons. In most cases it's dust that blocks the fan. This would mean that you have to clean the cooling system of your laptop using the jet of compressed air to blow the dust from the cooling fans.

Generally, it should help. If this isn't the case, I would check the display driver. What display driver and operating system you are using?
If you install the display driver Toshiba not they can also cause overheating if it recommendable s using Toshiba pretested drivers only. ;)

    Hello

I don't know m but AFAIK the IGPXPXD32. DLL is part of the Intel display driver. This suggests that there may be something wrong with this driver.

In your case I would remove the old driver, restart the computer and install the latest version from the Toshiba site:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com > download

    Good luck!

    sweppes

    sweppes,
It was just a possibility that heat is a problem.  Also in your games if you operate in high res\max video settings you can turn them down to smaller settings and test.

You also mentioned that the motherboard has not yet all drivers for Windows 7.  Maybe it's that you will have this kind of problem until you get correct chipset drivers.

  • Re: Satellite L655-146 - start screen shaking when I play any game

    Hello

I bought this laptop about 5 months ago and since I'm doing that I had the same problem all the time. Tried a few things to do something, find some ideas on the internet but still nothing.

It has Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit, 3 GB of Ram, Intel Core i3 and card ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5145. When I play any game, even if it was a game of simple graphics, the game start screen shaking and in most cases it became freezing or which gives a black screen (ESC, ALT + F4, ALT + CTRL + delete) do not work with it. Yes, whenever I had to shut down my computer and start it again.

Sometimes I have this message "display driver driver AMD unresponsive and was recovered successfully.

Is this a hardware or software problem, and what can I do?

    Thank you
    Hossam.

    Hey,.

    > driver AMD display driver stopped responding and has successfully recovered
It seems that something is wrong with the display driver have you already tried to reinstall the display driver? Display driver is important, especially when you play games.

I advise to use the latest Toshiba display driver that you can download here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

But before you install the new display driver first remove the old one. Then restart your computer and remove old registry keys. Therefore, you can use a registry cleaner like CCleaner. It of freeware and very nice tool. After this restart again and then install the latest display driver.
