Satellite A500 - how to restore factory settings?

Hello

I had software problems with my A500. I made the recovery disc. I tried to find a way to use these but can't find it in the manual that I downloaded.

Am I just thinking I have the boot disk 1 in the drive of the computer lights up continuously by pressing F12 while it is booting and then select start from the DVD drive? Then, I guess it will give the steps online about how the process is done for resume to factory settings.

Thanks Zari

Hello

You are good friend. First, you will need to insert the disc 1 into your CD/DVD drive. Then, restart the computer and go into the boot menu by pressing F12. Select your CD/DVD drive and the computer will boot from this drive. After that, follow the instructions on the screen, factory settings will be restored in a few minutes. During installation, we need to change the drive, I think, but the computer will give you information on this subject.

Don t forget that Toshiba Recovery disk erases the entire HARD disk. This means you must make a backup of all important files. Therefore, you can use an external HARD drive or you burn on DVD s.

Good bye

    Hello

I formatted my Windows Home Premium OEM (on the C drive) and now I need to restore my laptop to factory, and I do not know how and if I try this: press and hold the value 0 (zero) key and at the same time, press the button of power once to turn on your computer laptop nothing happen.

    Hey Buddy,

If you have installed another operating system or formatted the HARD drive, you are not able to restore the factory settings because of HARD drive recovery files are deleted. HARD drive recovery option can only be used with the pre-installed Windows version and not with other facilities.

In your case, you have the Toshiba Recovery disk but it seems that you didn't read the manual because you don t have such a drive. This disk must be created yourself with preinstalled recovery media creator.

Now it s too late for this, but you can order such a drive of Toshiba directly and it will help you to restore the original settings of the case:

  • Satellite L40 - how to restore factory settings?

I really hope that someone can help me before I break my laptop.

I have a portable Satellite L40, who started showing an error logonui.exe on the login page, at the same time, the error avrt.dll started and my sound stopped working.
I tried to put a new avrt.dll file, which it won't let me.
So I decided to do a clean install of the operating system (vista).

I don't have a recovery disk to do it well, so I tried to do a factory reset, by pressing F11, 0 and C, I was able to access the page where you enter your product key, which said while the sources\install.wim was not present and could not continue.
Then I tried F8 Repair computer, that when he goes to the page with 6 options, does give me the option of HARD drive recovery, it is said to restore complete windows, but don't give out information when I press on it.

Does anyone know if there is a way to solve this problem, as I'm getting rather annoyed now. Thank you

    Hey Buddy

As I m wrong not Sat L40 has not was equipped with HARD drive recovery option.
So, you won't be able to recover without recovery disks or Microsoft Windows disk.

Put the recovery disk (if you don t have this recovery disk using your own drive of Microsoft Windows) and boot from the CD or DVD.
The required drivers are available on the Toshiba page and you could download it after the installation of the OS Win.

Notes; you need the serial key of Microsoft to activate windows. You cannot use the Toshiba serial key which is placed at the bottom of the unit. It belongs to the preinstalled OEM version and will not work with your private version

    Hi stab them.

I think that I n the new good t for you: restore factory settings without Toshiba recovery disc isn t possible in your case! :(

First of all I think it's normal to s no recovery disk is delivered with the laptop as you will need to create them yourself using the Toshiba recovery disc creator. That is why it s recommended using high quality as Verbatim DVD-R media.

I think that the only option to recover to factory settings is to order a new Toshiba recovery disc.

Can someone give me details on how to do it

    thanx

Do you have a recovery CD?
This disc is necessary if you want to restore the laptop back to factory settings.

If you n t have this disc then you will need to use a clean Microsoft Windows CD (Win XP would be the best) for the installation of the OS.

Toshiba drivers can be downloaded from the European driver Toshiba page
Because this device is an oldie, the drivers have been moved to the archives (in the product type click on archive).

  • Satellite L655 - 14 d - how to restore factory settings?

    Hello, I'm Ali.

I have the Toshiba Satellite L655 - 14 d. I have format my laptop and repartition the HARD disk and reinstall Windows 7 from disc and I already save folder HDDrecovery...
Now, how can I restore my laptop to factory settings?

I hope to hear the solutions...
    Thank you
    ALI ADEL

    Hi Ali,

To clarify some things: you reinstall Windows 7 recovery disk Toshiba or Microsoft Windows disk?
If you have used the Toshiba Recovery disk, follow the instructions posted by Akuma. You can use the HDDrecovery feature to restore your laptop to factory settings.

If you have used the Microsoft disk you need recovery disk from Toshiba. HDDrecovery is a Toshiba feature and cannot be used with the operating system preinstalled. That is why it s not enough that you have already saved the folder HDDrecovery, it will not work!

If you don t have a recovery disc, you can order it here:

  • Re: Satellite L500-128 - how to restore factory settings?

I have a Toshiba Satellite L500-128. A couple of months, I installed the upgrade to windows 7. Now, I want to clean my computer laptop everything. I want to restore the factory settings, but I have no idea how to do that. Does anyone has an idea how to solve this problem?

    Thank you

    Hey,.

    What do you want exactly?

Normally it is easy to restore the factory settings. You need only the Toshiba Recovery disk you created, I think. Therefore, enter the disk and start it. The Setup menu will be loaded and you can follow the instructions on the screen. Factory settings will be restored with all the drivers and tools.

Also, don't forget to backup your data. Everything on the HARD drive will be erased.

  • Satellite L300D 242 how to restore factory settings

My sister has a Toshiba Satellite L300D 242, and she is very unhappy with her because she seems to have more than enough problems.

The problems, that she told me about all seem more like general maintenance would have prevented them, but I offered to files his laptop to its original specifications and she's happy with it.

I'm a bit irritating to play with things for the first time, however, and that's because I've never reformatted a before Toshiba and I worry in case there might be an unexpected stumbling block that I'd better know.

I have restored my Acer several times and it's been no problem, no problem at all. Is a Toshiba Satellite L300D 242 restoration as simple?

Can someone tell me the procedure I should follow to restore L300D 242 sister, please? I don't know if she restore disks, in case anyone asks, I have him asked and I'm waiting for a response.

    Thank you very much.

    Hi waynum,

If the original OS from Toshiba is installed you can restore the factory settings as described HARD drive recovery option here and in * user manual *:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm

    > I don't know if she has any restore disks
Normally the laptop come without recovery disks, but you can create them yourself using preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Media Creator. Just start this preinstalled Toshiba tool and follow the instructions on the screen to create the recovery disks.

How do you restore the laptop?

I can't understand it, it erased all my restore points, so I can't do anything, so I have to files it to factory settings?

    Hi mate,

Did not read the user manual? ;\
Here, you can find all information about restoring the computer to the factory settings.

It's pretty easy: it takes only the Toshiba recovery disc. This disc contains an image on the factory settings. These are the same parameters that you have started the computer the first time. Installation is easy: just boot from that disk and follow the instructions on the screen. It only takes a few minutes after that, your computer is ready to be used again! :)

  • NB200-10Z - how to restore factory settings?

    Hello

I seem to have a pretty annoying problem with the NB200 - 10Z.
The operating system is WinXP SP3.

I was looking to restore it to its factory settings by using the tools of Toshiba, pressing F8 during the boot sequence, this however does not take me to a screen where I can choose 'Repair' as online guide of Toshiba said.
My only options were by selecting start normally, or start in safe mode, safe mode with network and so on. I have consulted the original manual included with the laptop, but that doesn't make the light on the problem, in fact I found the manual to be pretty empty.
There isn't any help on formats, restore to factory or other maintenance. Disappointing.

Another option is creating a recovery disk, however, Toshiba tool will only advise that it cannot find all the stations that contain writable media, simply because the NB200-10Z is not a CD/DVD/BD drive. The only available ports are SD and USB.

So my question is, how do I format/reset to factory settings the NB200-10Z without external CD/DVD/readers writers, using the USB/SD slots? Because I can't find a way to create an ISO recovery with the Toshiba tool, which I was able to get on a bootable USB device.
And even if there is a way to do it, how do I adjust the NB200 to boot from USB? Looking at the bios settings and boot options, showed that only the LAN and HARD drive are supported.

    Greetings,

    Boris

    Hi Boris,.

Usually, if you start media recovery disk creator, you can choose on which device (CD/DVD or USB) the recovery media must be created. There you should be able to change between the CD/DVD drive and USB. If you select USB you can create the recovery on a USB media.
You can boot from that disk if you connect before you start the computer, then go to the start of the BIOS (F12) menu and then you can select the USB key.

According to the manual of the drive recovery HARD can be started while pressing the value 0 (zero) key before Windows starts.

    Hi elrossco22,

What Satellite L300D, you have exactly and are - this a European model?
If yes try to access the Windows Advanced Boot menu and choose fix my computer. Then, you can start the recovery of HARD drive feature.

If this isn't the case, you need a new Toshiba Recovery disk to restore to factory settings. You can order such a drive here but it s for European models only:

  • Slow down the Satellite A40 - how to set factory settings

Everyone there of suggestions on how to get there.

    Thanking you in advance.

You want to redefine the laptop to factory settings?

Well, it's very easy why you n t use the Toshiba Recovery CD?
This CD contains an image of Toshiba, which has been preinstalled on the laptop at the beginning.

Just boot from the recovery CD and follow the instructions on the screen

But note; the recovery CD would format the whole HARD drive. So you backup important data first if you need it at a later time.

    Good bye

  • How to restore factory settings when Windows does not load?

I'm recovering from the laptop (Dell Inspiron N5010) friend who has been infected with a malware ransom (ICE Cyber Crime Center Backdoor.Win32.ZAccess.erds). I used the Kapersky rescue disc to remove the virus from the ransom but now Windows will not load and I suspect that the MBR has been affected.  At startup, the Dell logo appears and the window loading appears briefly, but then you have the 'blue screen of death' flashes and the cycle repeats.   The bsod error is:

A PROBLEM HAS BEEN DETECTED AND WINDOWS HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN TO AVOID DAMAGE

    ON YOUR COMPUTER

IF THIS THE FIRST TIME YOU ' VE SEEN THIS STOP ERROR SCREE.

RESTART YOUR COMPUTER. IF THIS SCREEN APPEARS AGAIN, FOLLOW

    THE FOLLOWING STEPS:

CHECK FOR VIRUSES ON YOUR COMPUTER. REMOVE ANY NEWLY INSTALLED

HARD DRIVES OR HARD DRIVE CONTROLLERS. CHECK THE HARD DRIVE

TO MAKE SURE THAT IT IS CORRECTLY CONFIGURED AND COMPLETED.

RUN CHKDISK /F TO CHECK FOR HARD DRIVE CORRUPTION, AND THEN RESTART YOUR COMPUTER.

    TECHNICAL INFORMATION

    STOP: 0X0000007B (0XF78D2524, 0XC0000034, 0X00000000, 0X00000000)

The F2 and F12 keys work, but the F8 key will not open the "Advanced Boot Options", so I can't to the "Restore Dell DataSafe and emergency Backup" or any other advanced option.  System Restore will not work either.

I ran chkdsk and sfc hard disk (via the Kapersky Rescue disk) and neither solved the problem.  Then I copied its data on the hard drive.

I would like to restore the laptop to factory settings (assuming that it would be better to reinstall Windows because the drivers Dell would be included already?).   There is a folder on the hard disk called "emergency" and contains a Backup*.exe file and several Backup*.dsb files.

Is given this scenario, possible to restore to factory settings?  Or am I forced to reinstall Windows from scratch?

    What version of Windows?

7b error message indicates the operation SATA (SATA Mode) setting got changed in the BIOS Setup or possibly the hard drive may be roasted.

Restart, and then press F2 before Windows starts to load to open the BIOS Setup. Look for the option SATA or SATA Mode operation (models name it differently).  I don't see the BIOS screen options in the online manual, but the options for this parameter can be: RAID, AHCI or RAID Autodetect / ATA. Post back and we say exactly what options are available and how she got now.

If you are in the BIOS Setup, also find the Boot Sequence option and make sure that the internal hard drive is ranked first on the list. If it is not first, move it to all first, save the changes and exit the installation program. See if it boots now.

If you reinstall Windows by using a Windows Dell reinstall drive, you should not ask for the product key. It should install automatically by itself. HOWEVER, you will need to have the product keys for all the other apps that you want on this system, for example Microsoft Office, so make sure that you have the product keys and the floppies to install before you clean the hard drive.

  • Help! How to restore factory settings?

I recently got a Toshiba 32 w / windows 7 from a friend. Needless to say, he has a lot of info from the previous owner (it works really slow and jerky). Also the old name of owners, passwords and other information arise from time to time. How to make a restore of the entire computer to factory settings? I would basically to zero and all do it again myself. Thanks for your help. Ronie

Restoration is not a function of Windows, but installed utility from the manufacturer of your computer or a hidden partition restore restore disks that were made when the computer was new.

I would like to Google your model of computer for instructions.
