Satellite A500 - impossible to switch to Windows 7

Recently, I received my copy of Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit. When I actually bought my laptop, it was delivered with Windows Vista family premium 64-bit, all I wanted is upgrading to Windows 7 I bought.

So I followed the instructions with the Windows 7 Upgrade Assistant tool but I get this annoying message of release-able
This model does not support windows 7... and it closes when I click OK... So I am not able to upgrade because I'm afraid of damaging anything. Slthough its an A500-PSAM3E - 014011G 3. It can completely support Windows 7, so I have yet any idea where to start to fix that. The version of the BIOS is same 1.21

I can't find a solution for this PLEASE HELP

Hey,.

What disc of Windows 7 you are using? Is this a Microsoft one?
And you get more error than only this information?

To be honest, I never heard such a question. It works if you install Windows 7 clean install and not an upgrade?
Maybe also should contact Microsoft for help

    Hello

Have you tried to update the audio driver yourself? Please try to download and install the latest driver Realtek the Realtek Homepage. Install the new drivers and reboot the laptop. Now, you can try to upgrade again.

Otherwise, follow the instructions posted by Akuma.

  • Satellite A500 - slower with videos on Windows 7

Hi, I desperately need advice, I am 78 years old and going into the wall.

My Satellite A500 / 03P was bought with preinstalled Vista and worked fine. My particular interest is the functioning and the creation of video clips from training for other seniors, like video purchased has worked, stutter free. I took the offer to upgrade to Windows 7 and bought the upgrade, things went quickly downhill since. Installing Windows 7 became crazy during the installation, I have to take the computer to a maintenance shop. He was returned with Windows 7 installed, but has been considerably slower with videos run from the hard drive stuttering, worse still, my connection Internet ADSL2 running about 1.25 m bits per second.

After a while I got to service man and $ 200 later was provided with a dual boot hard drive, Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7. The system is practically unusable for video. I downloaded and installed all the 32 and 64-bit drivers provided by Toshiba but had to give up the 64-bit completely as unusable. I tried to install another copy of Vista Ultimate, bought for my old desktop PC, but could not get Internet to work, either directly or via the WIFI on the laptop.

I tried to run the Toshiba on the 32-bit Windows 7, but the laptop is too slow, that even my email creeps to e-mail readere. Any advice would be most appreciated that my pension will not bear the costs of local peoples. Should I buy the Toshiba original disks and return to 'ex factory Vistor State' or what.

    Hi Leslie,.

I m really wondering why your A500 has so many problems with Windows 7. From my own experience I can say it s really great and better than Vista OS. I use 1.5 years now and everything is working a lot on it.

In any case, did you check if all devices are properly installed in Device Manager and if there is no yellow exclamation?
When you watch videos, have you selected the power profile high performance in Windows?

    > Should I buy the Toshiba original disks and return to 'ex factory Vistor State' or what.
That would be an option, Yes.
You don t have the Toshiba Recovery disk? If this isn't the case, you can get it from a provider of service authorized in your country.

  • Satellite A500: When will be released Windows 7 64 bit drivers

    Hello

as the new owner of toshiba A500-132 immediately, I installed Windows 7 64 bit and I only just now realize there is still no driver for it.
This is when they come out because I can't wait! and I refuse using vista!

I installed most of the 64 bit vista drivers, and most of them seem to work with exceptions that seriously annoy me. the first is the toshiba ECO utility doesn't work at all, and also the Fn keys do not work. the strange thing about the Fn driver, is that the buttons work when I manually turn the process of Flashcards TCrdMain.exe

I created the register, which automatically turns on the SLIM process but his ineffective as the process should be opened twice...

Someone at - it iny idea how to solve this problem, or when will be released Windows 7 readers?:

    Hi mfucek,

I also don t know when Toshiba released drivers for Windows 7, but you could contact Toshiba directly by phone or e-mail. Do you have already?

But I think that they will be released in time net because each day more and more drivers will be present on the page of Toshiba. It takes some time because not all drivers can be programmed and tested on one day only, I think.
In order to check the Toshiba page from time to time. ;)

Alternative you try the Eco utility and other other Toshiba laptops. Maybe they also work on your Satellite A500.

  • Satellite A500 - upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 error

I'm moving my Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium via the Assistance of Toshiba upgrade so it will automatically download the software and some Toshiba Utilities. At the beginning of the launch, an error message 'this model does not support upgrading to Windows 7' in step 'Download Window 7 List component' and cannot continue. I'm confused because this as the disk to upgrade to Win7 I bought and received earlier this year from Toshiba Web site. I have a Satellite A500 I bought last year. It is not an old model, and I think that it is able to upgrade to Windows 7.

I managed to do a clean install once a while back but realized things of the Toshiba didn't were there not more then I got it back it back to Vista (but instead of the first 32 bit, I have changed there 64 bit). So now, he's running on a Vista 64-bit.

I don't know if changing from 32 bit to 64 bit has nothing to do with him or if there is something I need to install before you upgrade... I followed the steps on the Toshiba site to upgrade but stuck at this step. I'm not good with computers so help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

I created a few interesting, official items of Toshiba directly about Windows 7 update procedure:

  • Satellite A500 - remote control drivers for Windows 7

    Hello world

I bought the Satellite A500, very happy with it, but I change the operating system (vista) to the RC of windows 7, it works very well, the only thing is that I can't find the drivers for the remote that came with the laptop. It works quite simply, no answer at all... I have not found a driver for the A500 in any case, even for Vista...

All I know is that the remote works fine because I can use it on the media center to my Xbox 360! : p
But from the laptop, no answer at all... I looked for everywhere, tried to install the driver remotely for other model of Toshiba, even the beta one for 7, but still the same problem...

Your help is welcome, thank you for any response.

    Coch, France.

    Hello

    > I have not found a driver for the A500 in any case, even for Vista...
It seems that the A500 is brand new on the market and I think drivers (Vista) which will be released in the near future
You'll have to wait a little

I think the Vista driver compatible with Windows 7.
I installed Win 7 on my laptop and most vista drivers work.

    Hello

You must verify power WLan settings in Win 7 power management and need to disable the power save for WLan in battery mode

  • A new Satellite A500/026, but I want Windows XP

J just bought a new A500 and I think its just great the only problem is that I don't like windows 7.
I want to go back to windows xp.

Can I do this and retains all the features of toshiba?

    Hello

If you want to use Win XP, then you need to install Win XP using the MS Windows XP clean CD.
But the fact is that Win XP are not available for A500 because it is a new machine and new laptops come preinstalled with the latest Windows 7.

You will need to search drivers Win XP at your own hand and you will not be able to use all the tools preinstalled by Toshiba, these tools are available only on the image of Toshiba and are not ready for download.

  • HP EliteDesk 800 G1 USDT: impossible to switch to Windows 10

This is my first time on these forums, so I hope this is the right place to post this.  I'm trying to upgrade my work computer to Windows Windows 7 Professional professional 10.  I work in it, so I have full administrator rights to do this.  However, when I try to run the Upgrade Wizard of Windows 10, it keeps telling me that I can't do, and the display is the problem.  The message it gives is:

! Display: The display is not compatible with Windows 10.  Consult the manufacturer for support.

I am currently using two monitors, a HP EliteDisplay E241i and a HP Compaq LA2405wg.  Both work very well.  I just went to HP's Support site and downloaded the latest drivers for both, and it has not yet resolved the problem.  Is someone can you please help me understand why I can't upgrade?  The app has only said that it is not compatible and offers no help or anything.  Thank you very much.

    Thanks for the info...

You're lucky - done HP offers 32-bit Drivers for some versions of Win7 for your PC.

It's the HP for your PC product page: http://h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=5387484 & lang = to & cc = us

Select the version of the OS you are using.

Then, download and install the graphics drivers.

    Then restart.

IF all goes well, you should have complete graphics capabilities after that.

However, I've updated several Win7 PC to Win10, and with everyone, some issues had to be resolved - so I wrote this guide to help people who are determined to make this update...

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

You think about the amount of work that you want to post just to run Win10.  Seriously.

Desktop computers older Win7 tend to fare badly when upgraded to Win10 - mainly due to lack of HP Win10 drivers for older hardware.

If you are determined to upgrade to Win10, you must be willing to do four things:
    (1) do a full image backup of disk external drive or USB stick, capacity
    (2) changes to the reserved system partitioning hard disk recommandΘes mΘthodes,
    (3) use a different approach and maybe more than one, as Windows Update to do the upgrade,
    (4) prepare for a clean install.

    ---------------------------------

    1: backup of images:
This is VITAL, because the machine is doomed to failure of the upgrade, and when that happens, you will learn that GoBack to Win10 function is NOT reliable, and that can leave you with a corrupt machine that will require the factory reset and lose all that on it, to get it working again.

You can avoid this by making an image backup to an external hard drive or a USB drive using Macrium reflect (MR), which provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.
    ---------------------------------
    2: System reserved for resizing:
There is a small partition on the HDD with Win7 preinstalled machines known as system reserved.  It is something known as the boot loader code.  There is 100 MB format: all that is necessary for Win7.  But Win10 needs 350 MB and, in some cases, is NOT able to resize it on its own.  IF this happens, you must manually use a partitioning tool to resize it yourself.
    ---------------------------------
3: use a different approach to upgrade:
Windows Update is the simpler, but less reliable, way to do the upgrade from Win10.  A much better and more reliable way is to use Microsoft Media creation tool: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install?ocid=ms_wol_win10 choose the upgrade this option now PC.

After all this, you know that MS install drivers with only the most basic features.  Given that HP does not have drivers for your PC Win10, this limited functionality is the best you're going to get.  HP does not actively write new drivers from Win10 for the old PC Win7.  To keep all the features of your PC, your best shot is NOT to upgrade to Win10.
    ---------------------------------
    4: be prepared to clean-install:
If you do all this, and after the upgrade, your PC works partially, this means that the upgrade is not well and stuff is still there the previous OS corrupt the functionality of Win10.

You MIGHT be able to solve the problem in fact a clean install of Win10. Problem is that, often, a clean-install does not recognize prior activation, even if it should. So, before doing the upgrade, follow these instructions on the community forums Win10 on creating a genuineticket.xml file: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/23354-clean-install-windows-10-directly-without-having-upgrade-first.html

You need more later to activate your pc Win10 after the installation of clean.

    -----------------------------------------------

    Good luck
