Satellite A500 - message - Windows 7 not genuine
My laptop comes back with an error message saying that I don't have a genuine version of Windows 7? My laptop came originally with XP and then I took the offer to buy Toshiba for Windows 7, that now I'm starting to regret?
Does anyone know how to fix this - I only got a Toshiba drive in the mail and now Windows request for me to register the product and all I got was a disc and no number to enroll?
Can you please post model mobile exact and explain a little about this offer from Toshiba?
Maybe I m wrong, but he doesn't know me that Toshiba gave Win7 upgrade for notebook computers come with Windows XP Home edition operating system. If I m remembering well offer was for laptops preinstalled Vista only.

Hello
My laptop has been inactive for a few weeks and when I started I had many updates to install...
I am running Windows Vista professional. After a (apparently unsuccessful) update with service pack 2, I get a message that my Windows is not genuine!
- When I try to enter my key product per computer > properties etc. I get a message: "the product key you entered will not work with this edition of Windows Vista.» You must run the Windows Vista Setup program or enter a Windows Vista Business product key." But the key that I entered is for Vista Business!
- I also tried to download the service pack and run it again, but it never ends. Same thing happens with another microsoft product making so-called system updates... They both end up never after many hours.
- Do here, unfortunately, none created system restore point so I can't go back...
Other possible solutions? I have a lot of programs installed there and I don't want to reinstall windows from the restore CD. In addition, I do not know if it would work since I have the product key appears to be invalid for any reason any...
Thanks in advance
I don't know what the problem is to post your report in the forums - especially since you are clearly able to download also.
The problem seems OK - a corrupt license store.
Please try the steps below to re-create the store with the correct data.(1) open an Internet browser window.
(2) type: %windir%\system32 in the browser's address bar.
(3) find the CMD.exe file
(4) make a right click on CMD.exe and select "Run as Administrator"
(5) type: net stop slsvc (it may ask you if you're sure, select Yes)
(6) type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareLicensing
(7) type: Rename tokens.bar tokens.dat
(8) type: cd %windir%\system32
(9) type: net start slsvc
(10) type: cscript slmgr.vbs - FLIR (it may take time for this will be complete, please be patient)
(11) restart your computer twice. You may need to enter your COA key and activate it.Once complete, run another report MGADiag and post back with the results -
Satellite A300-259 - Windows 7 not genuine
I received my toshiba recovery media CD today and it has deleted the previous version of windows (vista) and installed windows 7.
After all configurations, a message appears saying that windows in not authentic.
I didn't expect this CD to remove vista entirely, but to start from the TI is out of the State of the box, but now I'm running on a different windows and may require a new product key. I tried to put the product key that is located on a label on the back of the laptop, but he says the key is invalid.I can't reinstall the previous version of windows that I do not have the CD but need to stick with windows 7 by the look of it.
Want just a few solutions for this problem, should I leave it as is, contact toshiba or restart my laptop again.Help much appreciated.
I have the Satellite A300 259.
Thank you.
> I got my Toshiba recovery media CD today and it has deleted the previous version of windows (vista) and installed windows 7.
I guess that you have received the disk Win 7 Upgrade from Toshiba.
> I didn't expect this CD to remove vista entirely, but to start from the TI is out of the State of the box, but now I'm running on a different windows and may require a new product key
First of all, I guess you used the Vista which has been pre-installed by Toshiba.
This Vista has already been activated and would not require the key of the system!
As I know the Win 7 wouldn't too much ask for the key. Please see this guide step by step from Toshiba:

I get the message "Windows is not genuine" after reinstalling windows
4 years ago, I bought my laptop (HP ProBook s 4310) with Windows 7 pre-installed, without any disk. A month ago, I formatted my HDD and reinstalled windows. First of all, I found my key windows (using "magical jelly bean"), then downloaded an iso of Windows 7 from Digital River, installed and used my previous key.
Now, I get this non-genuine message. Since I initially bought windows and that the seller does not gives me any drive, I think not that I did something wrong. Someone knows a solution to this problem?
Option 1:
If the COA sticker is damaged, you must use the recovery partition to reinstall Windows 7, it will be exempt from the need to use the product key to activate your installation of Windows 7.
Option 2:
If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling. This will exempt the need to also use the product key.
Option 3:
If neither options 1 or 2 is possible, then you will need to invest in a new license of full version of detail.
New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.
This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...
For Dell, press F8 on the keyboard until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears on the screen.
For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device
For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device
For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward
For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo
For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.
For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...
For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power
Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"
Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".

2 have you made any changes to the computer before the show?
If that solves the problem, try the steps and see them below.
(1) open an Internet browser window.
(2) type: %windir%\system32 in the browser's address bar.
(3) find the CMD.exe file
(4) make a right click on CMD.exe and select "Run as Administrator"
(5) type: net stop slsvc (it may ask you if you're sure, select Yes)
(6) type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareLicensing
(7) type: Rename tokens.bar tokens.dat
(8) type: cd %windir%\system32
(9) type: net start slsvc
(10) type: cscript slmgr.vbs - FLIR (it may take time for this will be complete, please be patient)
(11) restart your computer twice.
(12) you may need to enter you product key and activate it. (remember to use the key listed on the sticker on the computer and use the activation by phone method)I hope that the above information is useful!
Thank you for your answer, I found the Sticker with the key to re - activate my windows and where so good. But what intrigues me is, that? I did not any changes to my computer either, if what's causing this error message? Thanks a lot for your answer. Lisa

Lost Windows 7 Activation, get the message this copy of Windows is not genuine
I took computer at Staples after I turned off my computer when Windows 10 attempted to settle without my consent. I lost everything, but the Staples technicians have been able to get all the return after a "factory reset". Now 30 days after I plugged everything back up and reinstall all my software, I get message "this copy of Windows is not genuine". Also the popup that says: "you can be a victim of software counterfeiting." I called Staples and they said ' don't not to reply to the message to repair Windows and it's probably a scam ', and I had to bring my new computer (I is not happy that Staples course does not resolve Windows 7 in the first place because I now get these warnings). My question is: can I trust the message that says to go on this web site to repair Windows? Also, after the upgrade to Windows 10 for a long time, I am now wants to just go ahead if it makes me this problem... How do I do that?

* Original title: product key issue
I have received a more laptop from a friend and wanted to return to factory settings, because he didn't have the necessary disks, I contacted officials of the laptop with the brand and the model that took place in the origin of vista. They sent me back discs for windows 7 with a product key, but when I installed it I learned the product key is temporary and would not work. Because the laptop is older, the product key on the back of the laptop is now unreadable. I now have a message in the lower corner of my screen saying that my copy of windows is not genuine.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
S.Erskine
If it's a temporary product key, your only option is to buy a genuine full license.
You can find software OEM System Builder of dozens of online merchants. The current price for OEM Windows 7 Professional Newegg, for example, is $ 140. When I checked a few minutes ago, Amazon offered packages OEM Windows 7 Professional from several vendors at prices ranging from $ 101 to $ 150. When I checked earlier, a package specifically designed for reconditioned PCs cost only $ 50 for a 64-bit copy.
There is no technical limitation to prevent you from using OEM software on your computer, although this software only works for a clean install, not an upgrade. In the past, Microsoft has been remarkably inconsistent in his advice to clients on the question of whether this practice is allowed. (See "is allowed to use Windows OEM on your own PC? Don't ask Microsoft. »)
