Satellite A505-S6965 - LCD screen displays vertical lines

In April of this year 2010, my lcd started showing multicolored vertical lines on the right 2/3 of the screen. Toshiba repaired under warranty, but the problem returned last week. Today by phone Toshiba said that they do not guarantee their work, so I am facing a $400 repair if I want it fixed.

After the previous repair that I have not received any indication of what the problem was, only that they have replaced the LCD screen, or how to make so that it does not happen. So now I still don't know why the screen is not working and am stuck with a laptop, I want to pay for repair without any assurance that it won't happen again.

Anyone has any ideas on what I can do other than buying a new laptop?

Hey Buddy,

If your laptop is still under warranty, and the screen is not cracked, the authorized service provider will repair your mobile phone for free (warranty).

Generally screen LCD and other parties can always get faulty, it can happen with any laptop / manufacturing because he s one part electric and sensitive.

So you should ask your authorized service provider if your laptop is under warranty.
If this isn't the case, you must pay for repairs.

I'm afraid there is a problem with the LCD screen or electronics, the LCD screen at the wheel.  You will need to Contact HP for service.  You can check the warranty of your printer here if you no longer have the receipt.

    Hi all,

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro U500 with one small problem, the size of the LCD screen is reduced. I have a white border to the right and down. The max resolution is 1024 x 768.
The problem is visible also when I enter the BIOS, so I think that the problem is not Operting System drivers.

It is really strange, especially if you see the same thing in the BIOS settings?
Since when did you notice this behavior?
Do you use pre-installed OS original you got with your laptop?

Have you done something that may be responsible for the issue described?

    I U500 and default display resolution is 1280 X 800 t, so I understand why you have 1024 X 768 on your U500.

  • Strange khaki screen with vertical lines

    Hi all,
I desperately need help! Please help me. I've never had problems with my Toshiba satellite. But, today I was turning away, but... the only thing I had was a strange screen khaki color with vertical lines in the colors of the spectrum. I tried on several times, but each time the result was the same. And also the screen becomes darker and darker while I am interested in it. And at some point, the computer is a function that seems to restart and the result is the same...

I do not much about computers, but I know something serious. Diagnose you something for me...
    Thank you, Ana

    Hello

The pictures on the screen appear like behind a fog?
This looks like a failure of inverter FL.
This part is placed behind the screen and is not very expensive.
In my opinion, you will not be able to replace yourself and I wouldn t recommend this if you have no experience.
I recommend to contact Toshiba service partner in your country and technicians must first check the laptop.

    Good luck

  • Display vertical lines not working - blue and grey

I bought a Macbook Air on July 2014, but did NOT purchase the extended Apple Care. On October 2015 the display just stopped working one morning given. Not even the Apple logo appears when you turn on the computer. The screen goes black night at vertical lines different colors of light blue gray. This happened only 3 months after the expiration of the warranty. I tried resetting the NVRAM, but it has no effect.

As I am currently in the Brazil works, I had to make to local technical assistance, which sent me a quote to close to US $1000 to replace the display. It is about this that paid for the entire computer when it bought in Boca Raton, Florida.

Apple will do something to replace it, or do I just give up the Macbook Air? I'm not ready to pay that much to fix and I find it absurd that this happened only 3 months after the expiration of the warranty. If this was a minor issue, OK. But the screen does not like that in such a short time is unacceptable.

Here are some photos showing what the screen looks like:

Hello, I have a mac book pro 17 '', beginning 2011 and during the day to El Capitan 10.11.2 vertical lines appeared. Its lines of blue pixel, similar as in the photo, but uniform, efevery 1 for about 3cm in the centre-right part of the screen.

    Reseting LANDAU does not help.

  • Screen has vertical lines

I have a laptop HP G61-632NR, which is about two years old and about 3 months ago, that the screen is totally out on me.  I had a problem when it was in warranty, and I think that this has something to do with the other.  When I sent everything first he i had problems off the screen.  Any suggestions?  I went out and bought another ordinary screen and it works very well on this subject but I would like to have my screen back.  I did a system restore on it, and it does not help.

you would be able to see all the property on an another moniter cable because happens in the LCD.  You can have the LCD screen off and still have a nice image on an external display.

I contact HP support, tell them you have a screen with horizontal lines and get it sent.  Chances are it is the screen itself problems.

  • Pavilion DV5-1120us display vertical lines of dysfunction.

My laptop HP Pavillion DV5-1120us/entertainment (running Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 with all updates) normally displays for a few seconds then the monitor displays narrow vertical lines. Whenever it does so, the lines are of different colors. The laptop freezes and I have to manually stop and restart in safe mode. The only way that he will not have this problem, is if I DO NOT load the graphics drivers ATI Radeon. Whenever I have reload the drivers, the unit crashes again with the problem of the vertical line. I can run it in safe mode or without updating and loading the drivers ATI Radeon for days and not had any problems. It doesn't happen until I reload the ATI Radeon drivers. I went on the site of HP and the ATI site and tried driver downloads, and both create this crash. They can run for 30 minutes after the initial pilot reinstall the crash before the first episode, and the vertical line. Later, it will happen on every 10 minutes until I restore to a point before the ATI or HP driver install.

Please provide a solution to eliminate this problem.

    Hello

I guess the left most likely explanation is that it is actually a problem with the chip itself: this may explain why it works ok with VGA drivers as they don't stress about the adapter.  It may be useful to make a repair shop of local computer watch - my best guess is that the chip has bad connection at the Mo and may need to reinvest, but that's just a guess.

The guy on the link below may be useful to meet - it has a good reputation for fixing this kind of problem and if he can't fix it, it loads only $29.99.  At least it's something to consider.

That looks terrible, I have a headache looking at this screen :)
Anyway have you checked if the same question would be visible on the external monitor?
    Check it!

I mean that it would get more details about the failure.
If the question seems too much on the external display, a graphics card might be faulty.
If the external monitor is fine, the problem is only to s for laptop screen.

  • Satellite Pro L300 no screen display

I just added a second 2 GB memory module to my laptop and rebooted. It sounded like he was late starting but nothing appears on the screen.

I took the new memory module to guess again once it could have something to do with it, but there is no difference, and I don't always get a display on the screen.

Perhaps, I hit a key combination which has switched off the screen? If so, I don't know how I did it, or how to turn on again.

    Hello

Recommend that you check the RAM module again maybe its not inserted correctly.
Otherwise, connect the external monitor to the laptop and check if something is not visible usually switching between possible urgent monitors FN + F5
But this is possible only if the system has been started

  • Satellite P105-S9312 - LCD screen is completely white

    The LCD is totally white.
Works very well with an external monitor.

I tried with another LCD, new inverter and new cable... nothing.
Faulty motherboard or LCD cable connector?

    Any ideas?

    Hello!

Weird, but it looks like a faulty motherboard or LCD connector.

Normally I would say it s display a faulty LCD or cable because it works fine on an external monitor, but in this case I doubt that this issue s an LCD.

I think the best way is to contact an authorized service provider and ask a technician to check your laptop. They can determine what parts are defective and must be exchanged.

  • HP Dv7 1448dx LCD screen display not

HP Dv7 1448dx running on Windows Vista Edition Home Premium

    P/N-NV213UA #ABA

    Warranty has expired

I wish I could give you more details but this is another post that I am currently working on and I'm trying to fix my laptop grandparents for them. Their HP laptop turns on but no screen appears. I tried reset hard and external display nothing is thus to try to connect it to an external monitor and my T.V. so with an HDMI cable. When you press the power button on the fan, hard drive, processor and the LED lights all work. I disassemble the laptop best I could without losing myself to check the defective wiring and I couldn't find anything wrong or out of place. Nothing was loose at all.

How it happened, it's from what I hear they were watching a youtube video and the sound go haywire and their screen went all white. They could not fix the screen or sound problem, so they manually stopping power button computer. When they went to turn it back on everything started upward as much as internals go but the screen stays black and if you let it run for a period of time you are not here to boot windows. I took their hard drive and tested on my computer and it works fine so I know it isn't the hard drive. Their RAM and processor are in place and appear to have no damage done to them. I wasn't able to to the motherboard when I picked this place because I didn't lose my place with the screws and connections.

IF anyone can help me solve this laptop I'll greatly appreciate. I thank you for having taken the time to read this post I can't wait to hear from someone who can help.

For anyone else who has seen this page looking for a possible answer, I solved the problem. The hard reset to laptops in now that the power button is supposed to get rid of static electricity leaves behind her question on use and General construction to the top of a constant load. How I fixed it, it was by a manual HARD reset by stripping the laptop goes down to the processor itself, release and go out for about 30 seconds. If you follow this route make sure not to wear latex gloves so also no damage the motherboard. Replace the processor after 30 seconds: (optional and what I've done - is to put a piece of copper spacer between the top of the processor and the heatsink in very thin copper). After that doing this step and put it back together my black screen problems seems to have been resolved.

  • my screen displays vertically and not horizontally

There was an update of windows when I turned on my laptop and the screen is now sideways

You could inadvertently checked a box of setting to lock the orientation.

You can try to go to the desktop, right click mode (or press and hold of the tip of the finger) on the bottom.  Then choose "Screen Resolution" and check the box 'Allow the screen to auto-rotation', if it is not already checked.  Press 'OK' to reject the screen.

  • Satellite L500/00W - gray screen with lines appeared twice

    Hello

2 weeks ago, I bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite L500/00W and today I was reading something online that this grey screen with lines to come...
He did so twice already... I do worry...

This could be the cause? How should I do? This happen to anyone else?

    Thank you
    Lily

    Hello

I m not L500 owner so I can't tell you if that happened or not.
I A200 and U400 for my company and I didn t have shown such symptoms in the past

He signed strange s if the display changes the brightness and display vertical lines.
It might be a problem of display or something with the graphics card.

If you see this new symptom then I would recommend connecting the laptop for external monitor to check if the same would be visible on the screen 2.

If the same would be seen on 2nd screen there is a big chance that and GPU would be affected.
