Satellite A505-S6980 - screen faded

The screen went discolored (pink blob) in the lower right corner on the toolbar in the date and time.

He began two months ago, when I'm on the battery on the computer.
After several hours it would go far. My belief is that it was the heat generated during charging the battery.

I do not charge when the battery is low and do not leave the charger on the battery for long periods of time.
Over time that discoloration became somewhat permanent, only high pass down the right side of the screen, sometimes in all of the right side of the computer.

I checked to make sure that I'm just responsible for the computer because I was worried that I was using a too powerful for the battery, but it is the suitable charger. I looked through the posts and talked with another user of my University and have seen/heard anything on this subject.

Any help would be great.

Hello

In my opinion the battery charging procedure has nothing to do with this issue
It of difficult to say what has happened with the screen, but it looks like a hardware problem
I think the laptop is covered by the warranty in this case, I recommend you contact a local ASP technician who could check the screen and perhaps that the screen must be replaced

Good luck

    Hello

Its hardware or software related BSOD.
You are able to install the system again?
I mean you should take a Toshiba Recovery disk and start the device using this disc

I think it's the only option to check if it is just and a software problem.

In General, the BSOD can be caused due to various reasons
Module faulty RAM, causing problems of faulty motherboard even windows system BSOD
IVous must be considered what s wrong.

    Hello

    > Okay, one last thing, I have glary utilities and I ran that same day before that happens.
This utility isn't known to me so maybe the reason of this problem. You should try to remove this tool and try again. You may have to reinstall Firefox too. Check this box!

But Firefox doesn't normally make problems. I use this browser for years now and never had a problem. I guess there's something blocking the browser. Make sure l aren AntiVirus and firewall blocking this program.

  • Satellite A505-S6980 - keyboard does not properly

Hello, here is a brief description of this aweful problem I have on my 2 month old A505 S6980.

As I tried to install Ubuntu, I was restarting windows 7 starts, a screen came to ask me to choose what operating system I want to start, everything seemed normal, but the keyboard was dead, I couldn't choose any.
I used the power button to restart, but then it would start just after the BIOS loaded, a black screen with a cursor blinking in the upper left for a few seconds, then a beep FORT comes out continuously (beep beep beep beep...) and nothing loads.

I have attached a USB keyboard and it worked... after many attempts to boot from USB or CD, I managed today to see that the problem seems to come from the keyboard.

In fact, when I press the letter 'r', he wrote "r4".
    y = y6 [backspace]
    / = /0

The keypad is nuts, 5 active / disable the Numlock. When you press 2 twice he wrote 52.
    The arrows write numbers...
Some Fkeys does not as well...

I bought this laptop only 2 months ago of Lebanon and just now, I am in France. I like there is no people of Toshiba in France who can fix things, except in Paris, that will be quite a chore!

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

    Hello
Have you tried to pick the operating system with external keyboard? I think, there is a problem with windows mbr (master boot record) which has corrupted by Ubuntu. Try to make the recovery of the system from the hard drive, but I guess it's already gone

  • No sound on Satellite A505-S6980

About two hours ago my laptop has lack of judgment, then the battery life. I plugged in the charger and turned it back to find out that the sound no longer works through the built-in speakers, although I can hear the sound in my headphones. Everything is reactivated, I checked all the drivers and they all seem to be fine and restore my computer did not work.

    help please :D

    Hi mate,

Which is really strange, normally it should also work through the built-in speakers if the headphones work. Have you checked the volume, it is the highest level? You can also disable or reactivate sound using FN + ESC. Check it!

In the worst cases, the internal speakers are defective and must be replaced. It's fairly new laptop so the repair should be guaranteed due free.

    Good luck! :)

  • Satellite A505-S6995 - Audio MP3s fading in and out of play

    Hello

I had audio problems with this laptop since I bought it, first with the Crackle of the sounds, then I did the update of the bios that seemed to help, but now there are all sorts of problems with his awkward with Windows Media Player. If I use VLC or Winamp to play any of the mp3s on my laptop, there is no audio problem. However, if I use windows media 12 (last updated edition) Player, the audio volume seems to fade in and out and its a little wobbly and certainly enough for you drive crazy. This is strange, because if you go directly to the music folder and click on the mp3 even, it seems, there is a sort of plugin to make an audio preview and it seems to use windows media player (it does not open, but they way the icon looks like just seems to indicate that he) no audio no issues at all. I tried different mp3s with the same question. It is not hard I crank my system. It also happens with headphones and speakers. There is no audio problem with netflix audio, streaming, on demand, etc. I will continue to look and see if I forget something, but I have yet to find solutions.

    Here are my specs:
    TOSHIBA Satellite A505-S6995 laptop Intel Core 2 Duo P7450(2.13GHz) 16 "6 GB memory DDR3 1066 500 GB HD 5400 RPM DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce GT 230 M?" / Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service pack 1
Version 1.80 - 03Updated-06-2010 nVIDIA VBIOS N10P/n10M to fix an audio crackling problem. ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you

Looks like the audio be normalized.

Disable the standardization in Media Player.
You can also disable the improvements in the sound control panel.

  • Satellite A505-S6005: creating recovery discs power calibration error

    Hello

just bought a satellite A505-S6005 and try to create recovery discs.
    I am using Dynex DVD - R.

He created the 1st disk after the slightest mistake 2 times and when I started the 2nd drive continued to get again the message that is OE01BS-26 error Code - 2 said A 037303 power calibration area error occurred, check the disk for dirt or scratches.

The disks are not scratched, and after going through 5-6 discs wonder if something is wrong with the optical drive & not the disks.

    Any help appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hello

I think it's a problem with your DVD media
    You are using incompatible disks!

Try different DVD from different manufacturers.
I m using the Verbatim or TDK DVD-R and my CD/DVD drive handles these discs without problem.

Check it! I'm sure this will help you!

  • Problems of wireless with my Satellite A505

    Hello people,

I have a Satellite A505 which uses a Realtek RTL8191SE wireless network card. Recently, I had connectivity problems with my home router. This configuration used to work perfectly, but recently, I had a problem where I won't be able to connect to my router wireless access point. Reset the adapter does not solve the problem, or don't restart.

I found that my router reboot solves the problem, I am able to login after the reboot of the router. I have not had this problem on any of the other devices or laptops in my house and never had this problem until last month. I tried to do a factory reset on my router in order to ensure that some recent changes in our setup of the router were not to blame, but the problem persists even with a clean slate.

    Ideas for what to do?

    Thank you!

    Hello

    >... and never had this problem until the last month or more
Do you use WLAN driver from Toshiba support page?
I ask this question because I noticed that under Win7 driver for this wireless network card is offered as optional update. Maybe this update is installed, and now you have this problem.
If possible, try to roll back OS a few weeks back and check if the problem persists.

  • Satellite A505 breaks down

This laptop has begun recently to close (as it would if I pressed the power button) for no apparent reason.
I suspect that it is because it is overheating, but there were a couple times when he did it in a few minutes of starting with nothing else running.

I play on it, that's its main purpose. I tried running the fan speed, but it does not detect the fans in the computer laptop, yet very useful because I can monitor the temperature of the GPU and carrots. Just to give more information, usually the GPU is at 45-47 degrees Celsius when I don't turn all games and times of the nuclei are at 55-60 degrees Celsius.

When I run games, the GPU temperature climbs to about 80, and carrots are somewhere in the range of 85 to 95 degrees. The fan seems it works and I have a cooler pad that the laptop is on.
Ideas for what might have caused this? The laptop is around the age of 8 months, and it's a Satellite A505, i7 processor clocked at 1.6 ghz, graphic card nvidia GeForce 330 m with 4 GB of RAM.

Have you already tried to clean the radiator?
If you are a player and use the laptop for games I can imagine there are a lot of dust inside.

  • Satellite A505 - where can I get display driver for XP?

    Hello

I recently bought a Satellite A505-S6986 that has a NVIDIA GeForce GT 230 M graphics card. Unfortunately I have to downgrade my Windows7 XP OS for my work. I tried to download the drivers for the Geforce 200 m (and others) series manually, the automatic detection tool and read the countless forums without success.

Can you please help me locate THE display drivers that will install successfully on my system? (I don't mind if they are legacy/old).

    Thanks for any help
    Chance

    Hello

I think it might be a little difficult to get a display driver for XP and this graphics card. The fact is that Windows XP is old and the past. No support, there is more to the new laptops.

I think the only option is the original nVidia Driver but these drivers are not pre-tested on your laptop and doesn t have protection against overheating. He could destroy your graphics card.

In your case, I would like to install Windows 7. If you use the Ultimate edition is there a XP virtualization mode where you can run older applications.

  • Satellite A505 - change standard user instead of administrator

    Hello

I recently bought a Satellite A505-S6005. Windows 7 is already installed on the laptop.

The problem I encounter is that I'm a standard user. I'm not the administrator. I would like to change that, so I'll be able to change or install programs.
The problem came earlier, but the difference is that I don't have the windows 7 CD to start Setup again and choose administrator instead of the standard user.
Thank you very much for your help!

    Hi ManiakRe,

In my opinion it of not necessary to reinstall Windows. You can change user permissions in your control panel of the active administrator account set. Then you can use this account, but normally you shouldn't t use an account with permissions to administrator if you surf the Internet.

Also take a look on Google. There are enough pages they describe how to change user permissions.

  • Can satellite A505 - I configure media buttons?

    Hi all:

I have a question: is it possible to configure multimedia LED buttons "Play/Pause", "RW" and "FF" of my Satellite A505-S6965 to run a program?

I know it's possible to do it with the 'eco', the buttons "mute" using the program "Support of Toshiba Button" and the "quick start", but this program offers no option to configure the three buttons that I mentioned above.

If someone could help, I appreciate it very much, because I don't know where else research...

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Buddy,

You're already good. You can only configure the media buttons that you can find in the list of Toshiba button support.

But for game, RW, FF, etc keys it of not possible to configure them. You can use them in Windows Media Player for example. That s as comfortable! :)

  • Satellite A505-S6973 - OS update

    Hi all

I'm curious to find out no matter who tried to upgrade their laptop series satellite A505-S6973 with windows vista Home premium x 64 chipset for windows 7 ultimate x 64.

I ask because I would like to know if any compatibility problems, can the system host installation and with utilities pvat and eco are not.

I need to update my system, but I want to do a clean install and wipe my drive means I'll lose all the drivers so I hope it's done and drivers are easy to spot for re-setup.

Thanks for all suggestions, much appreciated.

  • On Satellite A505-S6973 keyboard problems

    Goodday once again everyone,

Can someone tell me if the built-in on my Satellite A505-S6973 keyboard has a backlight.
I watch a lot of these new laptops and similar to mine, under the keyboard it is white and I don't know if that's how it's supposed to light. If so, can someone tell me.

On the Toshiba U.S. support page I checked the specification for laptop computer and, of course, your laptop doesn t have this backlit keyboard.
Just FYI: all illuminated keyboard have FN + Z option to turn on/off illumination.
With other words symbol small keyboard will be on the Z key.

This option, when the backlit keyboard is in the book is also available in Toshiba HWSetup tool.
