Satellite A60-106 - need new AC adapter

I just changed my laptop after about a year of sitting in the corner, and the AC worked for about 10 minutes later when I disconnected and reconnected it elsewhere it has stopped working (of course I made sure it wasn't the plug, I plugged it in!)

It's so upsetting - I was so excited to get my laptop back! Then I looked online to see if there are adapters for sale and get this: http://www.computerbatteries.co.uk/gb3/m/toshiba/satellite-a60.html but it is not look like mine?

Also where there is a big upward from the small plug it looks totally different.
Does anyone know where I could find one that will work?
Thank you very much!

Hello!

On the Toshiba site, you can search for compatible AC adapter for your laptop:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online of Services & devices-online Options & accessories from PC-online PC Options and accessories of the North

Normally, the power adapter which you founded should work because the site Web is information that it s for Satellite A60.
Maybe the photo is just for illustration.

However, you can navigate to your local ASP (authorized service provider). They also sell these parts.

Good bye

    Hello
I model Satellite A60-106, and I was wondering if a wireless connection is enabled on the laptop, because it doesn't seem to work when I go to a WiFi active area.

    Thank you

    Hello Kwana

I'm not 100% sure but I think that your device has a wireless card. Please check in Device Manager if the wireless adapter is listed under network adapters. If the unit comes with a wireless card on the down side there must be a label of the card wireless with identification of the card.

  • Satellite A60-106: ATI graphics card driver update

I have a laptop Satellite A60-106 and I was told to update my driver graphics ATI Mobility Radeon 7000 IGP, otherwise I won't be able to view the photos taken from the video.

I'm unable to locate these updates on the Toshiba site. Nobody knows where and how I can get this update?

    Hello

I don't know if I understood your question right, but you are not able to look at images from your video camera to Mr. I'm wrong?
I put t think that the graphics driver has something to do with this action.

What applications did you use? How did you exactly connected the external device? Did you get any error messages?

Just for the info: I used last time on my laptop the driver from the Omega.net Web site. But on the Toshiba site I found a news that Toshiba recommended to use only the Toshiba drivers graphics and different drivers, you can install it at your own risk!

  • Satellite A60-106: Question about updating the BIOS and the BIOS Flash

Fact the BIOS Flash update the BIOS or that requires a different file. I've updated a Satellite A60 BIOS to 1.9 but am not sure if cela flashed the BIOS as well.

If this isn't the case, where I could get a file to Flash BIOS for satellite A60-106?

    Hello

Sorry, but you question is a bit confusing.
The update of the BIOS flashing the ROM module I put t know which version is installed before upgrading the BIOS, but if after the upgrade, a new version of the BIOS appears then the procedure was a success.

The good BIOS and how to upgrade the BIOS information you will find on the page of Toshiba.

  • Satellite A60-106: cannot open Microsoft Office 2003

I have Satellite A60 - 106 laptop with windows XP Home pre-installed. After the recent failure of windows, I used the toshiba product recovery DVD. I managed to download other software like microsoft following works, note, Norton antivirus on CD. But Microsoft Student and teacher edition 2003 CD does not open in my CD/DVD drive.

It makes normal CD to access the noice after insertion, but is not accessible. By pressing "run" displays the error as not accessible D:\, i/o device error.
The same CD (microsoft 2003) opens with other computers.
So, where's the flaw and how to rectify?

I tried all sorts of advice through the web.

    Can someone help me please?

    Hello

For me, it looks like a hardware failure. The error indicates that the drive is not able to read from the Microsoft CD-ROM.
There must be something wrong with the lens of the drive and therefore the lens cannot read the CD drive is not accessible!
Maybe after cleaning the lens you can use this CD.

  • Re: Satellite A60-106 - deleting characters when you type

Hi, hoping someone here can help me...

Toshiba Satellite A60 106 running Windows XP missing characters when I type. If I type very slowly every key works fine. Many letters are removed to normal typing speed. This happens in all applications and does not load. The key repeat rate is also slower that we should (I know how to define it, the problem is not with the setting but with the fact that the setting is not honored or recognized correctly).

Virus/spyware scanner reports clean. The problem started all of a sudden for no apparent reason and does not seem to be associated with any hardware or software changes. Tried to start in safe mode, try to disable all non-essential progams services started via msconfg but to no avail. problem still there.

Laptop has historically suffered badly from overheating, but this problem is not related of course it's the same thing that the machine is hot or cold.

    Any ideas?

Have you installed drivers for a keyboard or an external mouse? (for example, Logitech or Microsoft)

If you boot into MSDOS, it always falls of characters? You can download a boot BACK on www.bootdisk.com disk

What BIOS version? You have the latest version?

    Hello

I think you should get in touch with an authorized ;) services provider

Here he s a user forum and I think that an ASP can answer this question better. In addition, you can also order new parts.

Here is a list of them:

  • Satellite A60-106: How can I remove the old CD/DVD player

    Hello
    I have a Satellite SA60-106 and want to date my DVD/RW X 1 on a 8 X DVD/RW.
How can I remove the old DVD to replace with a new one.

Please help if you can email [email protected]

    Hi, Malcolm

For this model of laptop, it is quite complicated because the STRANGE is from both sides. First you must remove the small screw placed in the Middle near the coverage of memory in the lower corner of your laptop (also near the cooling rack). The STRANGE is also secured with small hook placed under the keyboard.

At the right place of this small hook is not known but I know that it is placed somewhere under the keyboard. I don't really know what you need to do. Have you already tried to remove the keyboard?

I have to be honest and it's not so easy to give instructions here because I don't know if you're familiar with the disassembly. I don't want damage you something on your laptop. Small error can ends with a broken plastic cover. Please be careful.

  • Satellite A300 - I need new graphics drivers for games

I have the Satellite A300 and the graphics drivers are so old; round a year or two.
ATI got 9.3 and release tomorrow 9.4.

I can t use them because ATi say it is Toshiba s responsibility to make them for laptops. S Toshiba drivers are a year old, so that a customer can do now?

Some games like WOW sometimes crashes and it's graphics card problem.
Doesn't that I paid for support or I got the satellite with full support?

Just wanted to know if the next time I'll get a laptop among other things choose manufactures

Why will you need new drivers?
I think that WOW (World of Warcraft?) is not the most recent game and older drivers should also work for this.
So do you need a new driver display for what games?

A few problems in games could be resolved with a patch. Did you check that?

  • Satellite A60-106 does not start

Can anyone help? When I turn on my A60 106 it happens with a text screen that says Windows (XP) will not start and a few basic instructions. There are 5 options listed - Safe Mode - Safe Mode with network - safe mode with command prompt - known last good configuration - and start Windows normally. None of them work, computer goes to the Windows XP logo normally then flashes to the toshiba logo, after what the power seems to cut and it is up to the text with the options screen. Which if left constantly looping. All the ideas!

    Hey Warren,

Whenever I encountered this behavior it is always caused by a defective hard drive. Indeed the system cannot be loaded because the required files can be read from the HD.

You can try to re - install your recovery CD system in the hope that it is just the files that have been corrupted, but if this also fails then a new HD will be required.

    Hello

    Any ideas please?

    Antony

It's really not easy to say what is wrong, but you should test an external keyboard because the keyboard internal or let the shift keys are defective.

Have you installed your portable computer with the recovery disc or Microsoft? It is important to use the Toshiba Recovery disk to ensure that all the necessary drivers and tools are installed.
