Satellite A60-s302: 0x0000007B BSOD while installing Win XP

Hi all

I have an old Satillite A60 and would like to reinstall Windows XP without the Toshiba recovery cd.

When I boot from cd I get the configuration screen (text - back like) windows and it starts to load all the files.
But when the message "windows start Setup" appears I get a blue screen with an error "0x0000007B".

I have to load 'RAID or SATA drivers custom' installation with the F6 key?
If so should what drivers I use?
Or is there another solution to this problem?

Thanks for the help
Peter

Hello

As far as I know you don t need RAID drivers and don t need all the SATA drivers.
What version of Win XP do you use? SP2 is included?

If this isn't the case, please include to CD Win XP SP2 using nLite.

By the way; I would recommend setting the default BIOS (press F9 BIOS and save the changes)

    Hello

I am getting blue screen error while installing Windows XP Pro on ThinkPad T510 during installation. It comes after that Win XP disc is responsible for all the drivers and files for the installation. It can load Win 7 and Run but not XP or Server 2003

"A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down...".

    STOP: 0X0000007B

    Any help please? Thank you

OK I solved it and here's how.

I don't know myself what is AHCI mode and compatibility mode is for in the BIOS for SATA HDD settings but changing to AHCI compatibility mode solved the problem of blue screen.

All those who would like to give some ideas about this? some details that we should keep system in AHCI mode or compatibility (for example the installation of Dual OS?)

  • Satellite A60 crashes with BSOD using the WLan connection

    Hello

The son laptop works well 24/7 If you use the local cable network on web access, but as soon as we install Wifi it crashes on a regular basis (2 or 3 times an hour) with BSOD error messages - normally those helps Microsoft cant (via the event viewer report) with but it is often talking about Toshiba phone services but no solution.

Tried two (netgear) pcmcia & usb (agere) wifi cards - exactly same problem can not maps.

In desperation re-formatted & resettled Xp & all drivers Toshiba of original Cd of Tosh, then Xp Sp2 & then all the updates/fixes engineering including the bios from site Web of Tosh. Still crashes.

If the software has - v installed or not makes no difference.

A 512 extra ram on top of 256 original.

    Any ideas?

Please believe me that it is not easy to say why the BSOD appears!
From my personal experience, that the BSOD can occurs because of the problem of critical software, or because of the problem of equipment.

In your case, it looks like a hardware problem (this is my personal opinion)
Generally, the laptop should work with the external WLan USB card. I put t see no reason why it shouldn't work t.

You said that you have updated the RAM on this laptop, I noticed on many laptops than similar issues after a RAM upgrade.

For example; I inserted the new 1 GB RAM on my old Satellite and received a BSOD. I used a compatible but the BSOD appeared sometimes.
After the passage of the modules to another location memory my laptop works properly!

Please check this box. Maybe you could check if the same thing happens with your old module!

    Good luck

  • BSOD when installing Win XP on Satellite L350-16 b

I followed the procedure with F6 for the SATA controller and the Intel(r) ICH8M-E/ICH9M-E SATA RAID Controller has been selected.
Then he began to copy the files as usual, but shortly after order while he was the GUI I got BSOD and would not continue due to protected operating system. The CD was tested on another computer and it worked very well.

I also use Acronis to make backups, and there is a CD that I can start on and restore from an external drive.
This CD will not start on the computer, it has been tested on another computer, he worked were very good. It's as if the CD/DVD drive cannot read it.
I would be grateful if someone could please tell me where is the problem.

Would it be in the BIOS there is a setting that must be 'twisted '?
    If yes where?

    Thank you
    John

Are you sure you are using the correct SATA driver? Check it!

The BIOS must not be twisted, but it would be interesting to know if the same problem occurs if you select the compatibility mode in the BIOS (so you do not need a SATA driver).
If the same error occurs, it s a problem the CD/DVD player and if not it s bad driver SATA.

  • Satellite L100 - need SATA drivers to install Win XP

    Hello world!

I need your help... This is my story.

There was a time when I need to reformat the computer laptop satellite L100 and a XP cd is used instead the recovery disc, I'm too dense to know.
When I found out about the use of the recovery disc, I tried to boot from it, and I've seen the menu which gives me the chance to restore the configuration of the laptop, but I didn't move because I didn't really need to reformat the way at the time.

After a while, (again), I need to reformat, but the problem is, claims the installation from the toshiba raid recovery disk drivers.
That's happened? and what do I do?

I have read a few forums and they propose to change the SATA mode in the BIOS options, but I can't find it in the laptop, you I saw in the other computer toshiba laptop. How can I change the SATA mode in the L100 laptop?

I also read that I have raid drivers must be copied to a floppy disk, in which I don't have an external floppy drive.
Is it possible that I can install it without pressing F6 or something, which is on the Windows desktop? Or I can save it on a USB flash drive?

    Thank you!

    Hello

First the SATA mode option is not available in the L100 BIOS, so you cannot change this mode compatible.

Secondly, you n t need the floppy drive to install the SATA drivers.
If you had read several threads here you would like to know that you can also use the software called nLite that would help you to integrate the SATA drivers into Win XP.
This application creates the new Win XP with SATA drivers, and you can use this CD to reinstall windows XP.

I wonder why the Intel Storage Manager was not placed on the page of the European driver Toshiba in the region however, L100 driver download as mentioned, the Intel Matrix Storage Manager contains the SATA drivers and you need this package.

You can search in other series of laptops such as the Intel Storage Manager or looking for on Intel page and it would download.
Then as I ve mentioned use the nLite and include the SATA drivers.

More details about nLite you will find on the page of nLite: http://www.nliteos.com/

    Good bye

  • Satellite A500 - 17 X: how to install Win XP mode for Windows 7 64-bit

I recently bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite A500-17 X computer.
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I've since upgraded professional. I am trying to download and install the XP Mode from Microsoft site.

I left a few pieces of software for most of astronomy who worked under XP but will not install on Windows 7.
From the website of Microsoft, I selected Professional 64-bit in the drop-down list.

When I tried to install the file, a message pops up saying: + is not a valid Win32 file +.

So I downloaded the 32-bit professional file.
When I tried to install this same message popped up. Of after the videos on the site web of Microsoft, this should be easy.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong.
    Thank you.

    Hi mate

As I see you are using the Windows 7 64-bit operating system.
In my opinion, you cannot install or create a Win XP 32 bit mode because Windows 7 is 64 bit OS!

In my opinion, you would need a Win 7 32 bit OS in order to create a Win XP 32 bit mode!

    See you soon

  • Satellite U400 - 14 p PSU44E: cannot install Win XP - black screen

    Hello

    I bought a Toshiba U400 - 14 p (i-e-U400-PSU44E) a few weeks and I can not install XP on it.

I boot with a cd XP (tweak with nlite where I added my AHCI drivers and SP3). But at startup time, the system tells me that will attempt to recognize my hardware and then I have a screen_ _dark
I don't have the blue screen where I can press F6 to install the SATA driver.

So that's what I tried to solve my problem:

    -Flash bios => same thing
-Boot with an external cd usb => same thing
-Made a lot of tweak XP cd with SP2, SP3 wathever => same thing
-Sacrifice a chicken and asking the old spirit of help-online the same thing: D :D

_Some tell me I'm a tattooed bios_ how can I get around this?

I try to boot with a usb floppy again. Because I have no one and it is so vast!

Guess that's it's the same thing. It will be hard to swallow :(

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello

    > I boot with a cd XP (tweak with nlite where I added SP3 and my AHCI drivers
Can I ask you what you used SATA drivers?

I have a U400 to and Win XP has been installed without any problem of bug.
The Intel Matrix Storage Manager contains all the necessary SATA files which should be integrated into the XP CD.

  • Satellite Pro L850-1DT impossible to install Win 7 driver wireless

    Please, I beg you.

On costs to install Windows 7 64 bit downloaded all drivers wireless I can find on the site of tosh.
    No work.

Find in this page http://www.toshiba.co.uk/discontinued-products/satellite-pro-l850-1dt/ ended
    Says spec card Atheros.

Try reinstalling the driver atheros, it gets a little then disappears and nothing happens.
Tried the driver atheros here too, but moved, but no functionality.

At one point, I tried the function and F12 key on and outside, that seemed to allow some stuff of bluetooth and wireless.
I have "Network controller" and "Unknown device" in Device Manager with yellow exclamation points.

    Heeeeellp please.

You're right, it seems that the laptop Satellite L850-1DT was equipped with the Atheros WLan card and the Atheros WLan driver should be right.
This Atheros card also supports Bluetooth function and what an additional driver must be installed for both WLan + BT working.
First you must install Atheros WLan driver suite by packet filter for driver Atheros BT and battery Toshiba BT.

Of course, all other tools like value added Package for Windows 64-bit must be installed too!

    I hope this helps.

By the way: driver can be found on the page of the Toshiba UE driver

Satellite L350-203 belongs to the series PSLD8E and the drivers for this series are on the European driver Toshiba page.

Finally got my U300 working with XP, but I can not get the operation. The proper drivers are installed, but nothing. Hardware working on Vista, so this seems like a driver problem. I think realtek for somereason Setup is not totally complete the configuration.

    I followed the advice on

I have seen working on Satellite U300 WXP and well I used Skype. The sound quality wasn't the best but it works.

Somewhere on this forum I found info on Microsoft KB888111 and KB835221 patches. This should help not working sound on Windows XP Home edition. Please check it out.

  • Satellite A215-S5849 - cuts off while installing XP

    Hello
I am a system integrator and have a client who wishes to remove Vista and restore its Satellite A215 to XP recently.

Unfortunately, the machine will not end the XP installation. I can load the cd and see the HARD drive and partitions so I know it is not a driver of SATA type or f6 related disk i/o. He gets throughout the textual part of the installation, but immeadiately plant outside after the first restart during the loading of the GUI installation part. Since that's when device drivers are loaded and the registry hive is built, I think that perhaps driver display.

What of weird is theres no BSOD or error code reported. The laptop cuts just immeadiately power on setup windows gui loading. No problem from the cd, but not any version of xp Vista re-loads. I have tried Home - Pro - and MEdia center 2005 versions of xp, both OEM and retail box, no version of xp will complete the installation. The model No. side to the bottom is PSAFGU-07101J.

    Anyone has any ideas.

    Hello

I think the reason is clear: you use a bad SATA driver I think, because you need one suitable for the installation of Windows XP.

I checked the Toshiba page we where is your laptop. I think it might be a little difficult to get all the drivers because it s official XP unsupported. So in your case I check the Intel page and download the Intel for Windows XP Storage Manager.

If you have other questions, use the search in the forum here. You will find hundreds of threads here!
