    Hi all

I bought TOSHIBA Satellite A65-S1062 a few days, but it was not new.
And now I have a problem with loading the battery = (first of all, I reinstalled the operating system (windows xp sp2) and tried to install all the drivers, but I had problems with 'save energy'.

Initially the indicator in the Panel showed 6% of load and wile installing the programs that I checked the indicator, is perhaps half an hour, he showed at 7% and everything would be ok but within an hour he showed me the 0%, and it does not change for 2 days already.

I checked my computer with "everest" and he showed the wear level - 25%, but what is interesting, it shows the different load (150 mW to 20000 mW) capacity rate appears as 150mWh (0%).

In my opinion the battery is malfunctioning because it s old.

My 6-year old s battery no longer works it shows what he s is fully charged, but the laptop can run only 1 min using the battery power
After that the battery is empty.

It s nothing unusual! Sooner or later each battery would die!

  • Password BIOS reset on Satellite A65-S1062

    Hello

Anyone know how to reset a BIOS password on a laptop - A65 - s1062? The laptop was purchased in the United States.
I heard that on laptops, the password is usually stored in an eeprom on the motherboard.
    and I need a programmer/eeprom eeprom reader.

Or maybe that it's possible to fix it? I live in the United Kingdom about how much it might cost?

    Kind regards
    Wqaw

    Hello
I had the same problem with an A60, but I Don t think you can read the eeprom on the motherboard. Don t do it, because I messed up my PCB with this procedure. I think that there is another solution, perhaps a short circuit of some tampons but I Don t know for sure, because I had to buy a new motherboard, there is no password on it. :(
You need to remember: this isn't a card, it s a computer laptop-card mother and you won´t be able to put this eeprom (which is definitely not in a case normal and not readable with an eepromprogrammer-> weird format) in a player of the eeprom.

I think the best idea will be to give your deck a service partner and they will remove the biospassword (hopefully without damaging your systempcb ;)). I think that this should be a secure way.

  • Satellite A65 freezes and does not answer after adding RAM

    Gents,

My laptop Satellite A-65 has been upgraded to 512 MB RAM 1024 RAM. He acknowledged additional without any problem memory (as she should be determined according to the manual).

But unfortunately after 1 day it started suddenly stops, images on the screen freezes, laptop does not at all - only reset (press and hold the power button / stop) can help. laptop computer sometimes is able to work 2-3 hours, but still stops.

Cover of place of memory is rather hot, fan very often work uninterruptibly. so I can't decide if the problem is in the new map memory or not enough cooling or maybe by changing the version of BIOS (or BIOS setttings) and could be memory saturates and erases itself properly (last note was found on the forumes).

Experts, to help find the exact reason especcially if you had the same problem.

    Hello

I m not an expert, but I recommend you remove the new memory module and run the laptop only with the standard memory module.
If the laptop does not cling and will not freeze then it s a very clear case for me.

Either the second module is not compatible or defective.
In my opinion, you need to use brand modules such as Kingston for example. The quality is much better as a module without a name.
Use additional modules recommended by Toshiba

  • WLAN card suddenly stops working - Satellite A65-S126

I have a satellite A65-S126 and one day I started it up and I couldn't get a wireless connection because my wireless adapter (Atheros AR5004G) network I troubleshooted it and it came "10-program Code cannot start". I uninstalled and reinstalled it, nothing happened that I got the same error.
Does anyone have any help for me?

    Hi Joe

According to the Microsoft page means that code 10 - cannot start the device (Wlan card). Who could appear if the driver is damaged or / and some registry entries has been modified.

I put t know how you reinstalled the driver but I would first remove the old driver and then delete the WLan card also of the device Device Manager.
Then shut down the laptop and after restarting again the operating system should recognize the new device (Wlan card) then you can start the driver installation.

    Maybe this will help you

  • Satellite A65 - Crash during the upgrade of the BIOS. Not now boot.

I have a satellite A65 s-1064, and I was upgrading the BIOS from windows. Suddenly, the computer turns off, and I thought that it meant that the update was made. I pressed the power button, and booted the laptop, but remained at a black screen. I thought maybe the BIOS was always something, so I left for a while. After an hour, I returned to find even on the black screen.

I pressed the power button to restart, but nothing happened. I finally had to pull on the power cord and the battery. Once I did, I plugged it back in and put the battery in, but nothing happened. No battery charging lights. No power lights at all. Nothing happens when I press the power button. My question is, could do a BIOS upgrade failure, and could I somehow reflash the BIOS without power?

    Hi Brandon,.

It is very unusual for an upgrade of the Windows BIOS cause this kind of problem. Normally, the power subsystem is quite independent of the BIOS.

Is there a reset button that you can use to reset the system your A65? (Sorry, but I'm not familiar with the A65). If so try to press it to see if this will allow you to restore the power of your laptop.

If you get no power at all (try removing the battery and then connect to the AC adapter), then it is possible that the power supply or the motherboard did not in this case, you will need to contact an approved Service Agent for the laptop repaired.

As for your question about flashing the BIOS without power, I'm afraid that this is not possible. You will certainly seized the restoreds power to your laptop you can proceed with your upgrade of BIOS.

  • Satellite A65 will not start and I get only the blue screen!

When I start my satellite A65 a blue screen comes up saying "a problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
It says to check if I have enough disk space or to disable or update the driver, if a pilot has been mentioned in the stop message... or to check the updates to the bios...
I can type everything that said if I need, but the jist

The world is - that sound familiar at all?
It may be because I was not updated enough when he told me to.
It does not start, not even on safe mode, and it won't let me not restore, which I would be perfectly willing to do at this point.

    help, please
    Joly

    Hello

The blue screen of death usually occurs because of the serious software problem or due to malfunction of the equipment.
In your case, it looks more like something wrong with the hardware. Why, because you're not able to restore the laptop from the recovery CD Toshiba delivered!

Need buddy? I think that the laptop should be verified.
Try to contact an ASP in your country and ask for later handling.

    Good luck

  • Satellite A65: error message 'resume failure press any key' and no start

Satellite A65 has just had the replaced dc power jack.
Unable to access bios, esc and f1 key have no effect. Battery is fully charged. HD and ram, no change.
    Help!

    Hello

I found this tip in the forum:
If the laptop uses a Toshiba BIOS this:
When the TOSHIBA logo is shown, be very fast and press the ESC key several times.
You should get an error message and press F1 to enter BIOS.
Search mode power-up (or something very similar). Set it to BOOT.

In addition, you can try to access the BIOS and set the BIOS settings by default and safe change.
    Maybe it helps.

  • Satellite A65 - S1066:BIOS (fatal error)

    I greet you,
I have Toshiba Satellite A65-S1066. On the track the Bios upgrade it computer was switched off the coast and did not see the day already. Now when including it this March 5 seconds, at the same time gives the sound literally / pi pi pi / and caps keys look as well as the diode under buttons shining f10 and f11. Already end of this story. Does anyone know how to restore previous bios version? / I heard that the appropriate combination of keys is I don't know or then the truth.
I thank him. I salute you

    HI Marian,

If your laptop turns off during an upgrade of the BIOS so I think you should bring to a repairer authorized to have reloaded with a usable BIOS CMOS chip.

You can find your repairer nearest since Toshiba under Support & Downloads web site.

Without a usable BIOS, you will not be able to load a new version.

    Really sorry

  • Supported satellite R830-182 and SSD

Anyone know if there is news of SSD in Toshiba laptops?

I ask because I have a Satellite R830-182 and I recently purchased an OCZ Agility 4 and it is not detected by the BIOS.

I tried all the tricks in the book including the BIOS upgrade and switching between AHCI/IDE.

Research online, find posts on this topic.
The general consensus seems to be that Toshiba has actively chosen not to support other than their own brand SSDs. Is this true? And if so, is that still the case?

Someone suggested that [by pressing Pause | https://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=244444𻫜] before entering the BIOS would help.
    Has anyone tried this before?
Not sure that it is a viable long-term solution.

    Any other thoughts/advice on this?

    > Research online, I find messages on this particular problem.
    > The general consensus seems to be that Toshiba has actively chosen not to support other than their own brand SSDs. Is this true? And if so, is that still the case?

I have Toshiba laptop and I could upgrade the laptop with a SSD 250 GB from another manufacturer. One of my friends with Toshiba Satellite laptop also use another brand of SSD 2.5 drive.

But the fact is that the problems of compatibility between different devices (not always SSDS but other modules PCI as well) can happen and its nothing unusual in the world of large computing.

As far as I know that some R830 models are equipped with a ' Solid State Drive (SSD) instead of a hard drive. Type of SSD SATA 2.5 "SSD SATA type 256/512 GB and 1.8" 128 GB must be compatible. "
But its also a matter of SSD drive firmware. In many cases firmware drive SSD can be not BIOS supported.
In this case the SSD drive would not be recognized correctly.

  • Re: Satellite A65 will start not because of recovery CD formats the HARD drive?

    1. my Satellite A65 WinXP seems to be corrupted and does not start.
    2. my system is dual-boot, Windows XP (16 GB) and Xandros Linux (24 GB)
3 Xandros boots. Windows XP has been removed from the start menu.
    4. If I run the Toshiba Recovery CD, it will enter and reformat the whole disc or only the first partition WinXP?
    5. are there instructions online for the recovery CD?

    > 4. If I run the Toshiba Recovery CD, it will seize and reformat the whole disc or only the first partition WinXP?

Well, if you have an older version of recovery which provides two options; standard recovery and recovery expertise, so you could choose the partition on which the operating system must be installed and ONLY that partition is erased and formatted.

But if you, recovery CD doesn t contains options then the recovery CD will format the entire HARD drive!

    So be careful

  • Satellite Pro L100 CPU upgrade

    Hello

    The hope for some advice.

I recently bought a Satellite Pro L100 of second hand, came up with the following configuration.

Celeron M 370, 256 MB Ram, 40 GB drive HARD, Win XP

As the laptop is out of warranty, I disassembled the laptop and upgraded to the following specification.

    Pentium M 735 (SL7EP), 2 GB of Ram, disk HARD 40, Win 7 Ultimate

Everything seems to work perfectly, but he hopes to upgrade the processor more far, to maybe a Core Duo.

I noticed on the Toshiba datasheet (* http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/Contents/Toshiba_uk/EN/Others/SatProL100datasheet.pdf *) for the L100, the configuration of this laptop back to a Core Duo 2400 (though on the motherboard PSLA1)

Only problem I can see is the Core Duo 2400 only comes in a FC-µBGA package, while the L100 seems to have a CF-µPGA socket, a CF-µBGA CPU will correspond to a socket FC-µPGA?

Also, does anyone know if the PSLA4 in my L100 motherboard supports a front side bus to 667 or 533 MHz?

I sent Toshiba direct support - but unfortunately they have advised that because they haven't tested any other CPU on the laptop that they cannot advise me - seems a bit strange response given that they use multiple configurations on the same motherboard.

    Thanks a lot, Vaughn.

    > Also, does anyone know if the PSLA4 in my L100 motherboard supports a front side bus to 667 or 533 MHz?

    It depends on the chipset.
As much as I know the laptop supports Mobile Intel® 945GM Express Chipset
    http://Ark.Intel.com/products/chipsets/22816

According to the page Intel chipset supports MHz 533/667 MHz FSB and 4 GB RAM support

  • Satellite Pro 6000 and Windows Vista

I bought a Satellite Pro 6000 and I want to put Windows Vista on it. I did an Upgrade Advisor and I was told that this graphics card will not work. Is this true?

    Thanks, Nick

I'm afraid that's true. Satellite Pro 6000 is old enough for laptop and it will not supported in Vista. Install Windows XP Home edition and enjoy your life.
