Satellite A660-18 does not have upgraded the BIOS to v1.90

The BIOS upgrade notice came in the Toshiba Service Station program and I downloaded the new update of the BIOS and pressed the button "install". The program extracts and ran but then stop saying:

Installation of UEFI WinFlash 0.02 in the title bar

+ "The program will be closed! +
+ There is an error occurred, please check below Articles. +
+ Version of the BIOS above 190. +
+ Plus 10% of battery capacity. +
'+ AC is attached. +

Obviously, the battery is fully charged and I'm running on AC. If I start up the computer and go to BIOS F2 screen, it reports as v1.80.

He reports the BIOS version as something akin to garbage in Toshiba HWSetup program:

V234567890. 00/00/00000000000

He also pointed out what is called the CBS Version as "1.80".

Anyone else have problems to install the new BIOS (published on 25/01/2011) v1.90?

And you are using the original operating system preinstalled you got with your laptop?

BIOS update has not this means that the ROM module (where the BIOS is stored) isn t flashed properly.

    What should do?

From my point of few the EPROM module must be re-flashed once more with special BIOS crisis recovery disk.

Usually, this procedure could be done only by authorized service provider available in your country.

But I found an interesting announcement about how to flash the BIOS on U400 series.
See the last post [here: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=62852]

But I don't very well if this info would be useful and if it would work in your laptop to Mr. However, in case this would not work, contact the ASP from Toshiba for help

    > When I keep the power button pressed, the whistling fan but nothing happens. I think the BIOS is gone or corrupted. What should I do?

What to say to boyfriend. It seems that something was wrong during the process of updating the BIOS maybe the BIOS was not written correctly and the ROM module must be flashed again with the help of a special procedure and the tool.

In this case, you can do anything you will need to contact the ASP in your country for a fix!

Don t waste time and ask a technician for assistance.

  • Satellite L500D PSLK0A does not start after the Bios Update

I've had trouble with an "(ne répond pas) error ' while I was on IE8, so I looked up a few forums that all suggested I go to the manufacturers website and update the drivers for my computer."

So I logged on the site of Toshiba Australia, put in all my details model numbers and a list of updates came.
    Great, I thought.

1 was an upgrade of the Bios, so I clicked on the link and let the machine do its thing.
Now I can't start my machine.

How can I fix it? Can I downgrade my bios to what it was?

    Thank you

    Hello

If your laptop isn't the answer (I mean you won't see anything on the screen) then this means that your updates to the BIOS in the wrong way.
This means the module ROM BIOS was flashed note correctly.

  • Satellite A200-1If does not start after the BIOS update

    Hello

It is my first time on the forum posting, I hope someone can help me.
I recently downloaded the latest update of the Bios (bios - 20090121132526.zip) for my laptop. I ran the bios Setup, after the update it restarted my laptop, but then he went to a black screen and no longer start.
When I press the power button only power led lights, fans begin to turn and the DVD - rom turns and stops and the screen is blank.
I am running Vista Home premium 32-bit.

Can anyone provide a solution on what I can do to fix this?

    Was the system standby standby/extended/recovery?

Its important to cold starts of the system before and after an update of the BIOS.

You could try to remove one of the modules RAM (change RAM size) and turn on, otherwise the system may need to be sent to an ASP for repair.

  • Reference Dell E6540 - ATI Radeon HD 8790 M does not appear in the BIOS

    Hello

I have a Dell E6540, which, according to the data sheet must have a graphics card than ATI Radeon HD 8790 M. but looking in the BIOS, there is no entry in addition to the dedicated graphics card Intel 4600.

I have the latest version of the BIOS and the latest graphics card driver. I am using 8.1 Windows 64 bit.

Please let me know if I need to do something else to make it the primary video controller.

Also, is it possible to see if the graphics card is "there"? I think that if it does not show in the BIOS menu, either is missing or broken.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you
    Teo

There are two ways to create a mobile video hybrid:

1 hardware control - with a multiplexer equipment

2 control software, where only the GPU from Intel is hard wired to the display and the secondary GPU is used as a coprocessor.

Your system is of type 2.  It is not a true independent GPU - this is a coprocessor for the Intel's GPU, fully controlled by software and drivers.  To use the AMD GPU, choose using the Catalyst Control Center under Windows.

The AMD GPU can never primary rendering on this system: it's a secondary GPU by design.

  • Satellite A660 - Touchpad does not

I have a Satellite A660-16Z and touchpad work not at all even if it is enabled with F9.
I have to use a mouse external usb.

I tried several times to uninstall and reinstall the touchpad driver from toshiba site without success.
Initially, after the purchase, I remember the touchpad works, but I used an external mouse anyway.

From this point on, I upgraded the bios to 2.00 more W7 updates and service pack 1.

    Any ideas appreciated.

    Hello

The touchpad works if the USB mouse is disconnected?
As far as I know there is an option that disables the touchpad automatically if the USB mouse is connected.
You can find this option in: Control Panel-> mouse-> Pointing device

    Select this check box.

  • Satellite A660 - screen does not work

I have a Satellite A660 and when not hooked to an external monitor or TV, the laptop screen is white and you can't use it.
The only way I can use the laptop and being able to see the screen is if I connect the laptop to the TV via a HDMI cable and use it like that.
The laptop is less then 6 months and is rarely taken at our office in our office.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or knows what it can be.

If this is not the case, how I had to do to someone qualified by toshiba for have a look that would be a problem of guarantee being under 6 months old.

Thank you in advance for any help anyone can provide.

    > I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or knows what it can be.

Have you tried to use the FN + F5 to switch between the internal and external screen?
    Try this.

If that does not help, then I would recommend contact the ASP in your country, because security must still be valid (as you posted it above).
I think that the internal display is faulty, because the output of the video work, which means that this graphics card should be ok.

  • Satellite M40-276 - memory not detected in the Bios upgrade

    Hi people!

    New kid on the block!

I have a client with a toshiba Satellite m40-276. I've updated his memory to give it a little more to play with...

Went into the bios to see if everything was OK but no projected additional memory. I removed the new and old memory and put in the new 1 GB module and restart the computer.
The bios has not yet changed the size of the old memory?

Went to windows and of course that the memory has been detected it normally?
I added the other memory module and went into the bios again, but no change it?

Windows, however, recognized that the two modules?

His computer is the same bios to factory and has never been updated.

My questions are... why the bios doesn't recognize the upgrade memory? It will help in upgrading the bios?

Enjoy all the suggestions I can get on this issue.

    Thank you

    bookie56

Generally, if you upgrade RAM using tested compatible modules, that should be recognized correctly.
We do not know what modules you use, and I guess that there is a compatibility issue.

RAM on Satellite M40 276 can scale up to 2 GB of RAM and compatible modules are:
    DDR2 400/533 256 MB (PA3389U - 1 M 25)
    512 MB DDR2-400/533 (PA3412U - 1 M 51)
    1 GB OF DDR2 400/533 (PA3411U-1M1G)

    Hello!

I put t know what is the reason for this BSOD when installing, but you can post the BSOD code? For example, you can search based on Microsoft Knowledge for this code.

In addition, I would try to update the BIOS of your laptop that you can find on the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

After you have updated the BIOS to try to update the WLAN and LAN card driver, or try to reinstall Windows using the Toshiba recovery disc.
