Satellite A660: how to record videos with USB webcam?
I recently bought a Satellite A660, which has a built-in webcam. Using the Toshiba provided video application I can record videos, but I find the clarity and brightness of the rather poor image, even in good lighting.
I have a USB webcam that I plugged in and tested for example in Skype, and he produces images much better under the same conditions. My question is: How can I know Toshiba video application to use instead of the built-in USB webcam? I can't find any settings where I can choose which camera to use.
If this is not possible, do I need to install other video recording software? Windows 7 does not have all the applications where you can simply record a video from a webcam (I thought Windows Move Maker to do that, but apparently not).
I just want to be able to record videos of my USB webcam - any suggestions on the best way to proceed would be welcome.
Thank you
Howard
Put I don't think something like this is possible. Pre-installed Camera Assistant Software is obviously designed to work with the built in cam only. What you need is a third party software that you can use for this application.
Google around a bit and visit a few video forums where you can pick up some info on it.
How can I directly transfer video from my digital camcorder Panasonic in my A660? I want to burn DVDs. Camera has an HDMI output, and/or 3 taken RCA (audio / video) wire.
Hello
AFAIK output HDMI will not help because HDMI port on your laptop's HDMI port only. You must use other ports. I put t know which ports your laptop exactly.
Can you post the exact model laptop (A660-xxx) name?
OK, yes the title of the topic is not entirely clear. Here's my situation: I just bought a Toshiba Satellite L300 with Vista; Realtek HD Audio Manager is installed. I would like to record the sound of a video file using Goldwave (a sound editing program); but I don't want to have to listen to the sound, while it's recording.
On Windows XP, you used to be able to record the sound of the stereo mix, but put the speakers on mute and it would record again. Now I find that I have to turn my speakers in order to record anything on my computer. (Yes, I fiddled with all mute buttons, insured that all reading and recording devices are working and front volumes. My current solution is to plug my headphones on my laptop and to reactivate the sound from the speakers to register... and not put the headphones in my ears)
I have now spent in the last 4 hours looking for a solution, and I must say it's especially ridiculous. I used Vista before and I've heard rumors of how many people hate, but honestly, how is it that now the audio capabilities seem to be reduced?
Does anyone have a solution of how to record sound with the speakers on mute?
Hello
I also recorded the audio of a video file using another software called 32. and Win XP I also used the stereo mix, but to be honest I have never muted the speakers while recording. To be honest I n don't know if it's possible, but if you want to test, you can try the Realtek HD audio Manager in the access panel and set the speakers to cut on the first tab called speaker. But as I said, I've never tested and that's why I m not very good if it will work.
Original title: Windows 8? Need help for school! :(
I just got a new laptop with Windows 8, I am doing a school project. So I video recorded myself using the camera to laptops. Video recorded very well, but now I don't know how to record video in the folder 'my videos '. I checked and it is not there. I need to know if I can finish my project, please help!
Check the film folder in the library of images (the default location for the camera to record).
Located in c:\users\\pictures\camera roll
Once you find the file, you can move it to your library if you wish.
Can someone tell me how to record video or S-video ports, because I tried the Ulead DVD factory program and only capture device, he could see was the webcam, and he did capture her
After that, I downloaded the file to update provided by the support Web site That the program could see the devices are the TV tuner and the webcam (which he could not access more for some reason any)
After that, I downloaded a more recent update simply is identical to the last updated and seems that someone in the support Web site made the link to the new update which they do not have to file the previous update that doesn't really matter.
Hello
There are 2 ports s-video; s-video output port is not designed to pick up signals from an external source. This port name says it all; It s an OUTPUT port!
S-video-in port must be placed on the right side of the laptop. Don't mix the two ports. But note; This port receives only video signals. To hear the sounds, use a video cable to connect the audio terminals of the device and your computer. Red: audio right channel White: channel left sound The Ulead DVD Movie factory can be used to capture this signal.
Hello, I have problems with my Microsoft Lifecam 5000. Whenever I'm recording video with her, during playback, I hear clicking on and a beep sound when the camera is focusing. If I put it to my ear, the sound is low but I can still here it when it focuses.
Hello
Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community Forum.
I understand from your description, that you get beep when the camera is focusing.
To better understand the question, please answer the following questions:
1. have you made changes on the computer before this problem? 2. is it works much earlier?
Come back with more information to help you better.
I suggest you to download and install the latest drivers for Microsoft Lifecam 5000 from the link provided:
How to record sound with 176, 4 kHz and 192 kHz with hearing on a MacBook Pro (Late2011, OS 10.10)?
I bought an ADICON SSB audio analog digital converter (ssb-SEO).
This device supports 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176,4 and 192 kHz 24 Bit Audio sample class 2.0.
Sampling by hearing works perfectly between 44.1 and 96 kHz. Soon, I have try 176,4 or higher, hearing said that the input and output device is not the same samplingfrequency.
Saying this, the Mac output device is the build in audio and is limited to 96 kHz. In my case, I do need nit an output device, because I want only to save my music in the highest available sample rates, transfer to the PONO of Neil Young player and want to be happy.
Can someone help me solve this problem?
Thanks a lot for your answer. Products like AUDACITY can enjoy Audio with 192,000 Hz and they also support listen-true. I'm a fan of ADOBE and do not want to throw my up-front investments.
Hope you understand what I mean.
BTW:, I'm an actor PONO and work with files without loss. Sample notes 192 kHz 24 bit and love the freedom to hear music.
When I try to take a video with my webcam a message "locked by another application." I do not know and can not find which app has locked. I can't find anywhere, do anything to solve this problem.
Hello
1. which version of the operating system you are using on the computer? 2. What is the brand and model of the web cam? 3. don't you make changes on the computer before the show? 4. is it a built-in or external webcam?
Method 1: You can perform a clean boot and check if it helps: How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7 http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135 Note: After a repair, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the Knowledge Base article.
Method 2: You can also uninstall all software associated with webcam like yahoo messenger or anything else. Then install a unique program for the web camera and check if it works.
I'm going to make a clone of my HDD bootable resident to a 2.5 "SATA in a connection to the laptop via eSATA box. I restarted my computer and press F12 (or F2 for BIOS) to see how to select the boot order. The devices listed are:
HDD/SDD CD/DVD FLOPPY DRIVE LAN
How does an eSATA boot? He explained in a technical forum that eSATA is considered "internal" and the A660 can start on it.

Hello
The BIOS of Satellite A660 supports booting from eSATA. The following devices are supported: -USB FDD, -Primary HDD/SSD, -Optical devices, -Network (LAN), -supported with eSATA
I guess you will need to connect the boot device to the eSATA port before turning on the laptop and start the boot process.
This is my first message here... I bought a Toshiba Satellite A660-12th, 4 months ago and from the beginning, I have the same problem... Gel Gel Gel on video HD 720 and 1080 on streaming (you tube) and video games. I have the latest Nvidia driver that I've always updated, I reinstall win 7 and still this * problem. I saw many topics on the net about this problem, but I couldn't find any solution. The same problem for another series of the laptop.

Thank you

I don't think it's a general or common problem. I have the Satellite P500 with the NVIDIA card inside. Pre-installed driver is Toshiba 8.16.11.8829 driver version, and I have never notice one problem with display or graphics in general.
I watch blu - ray movies, very often HD trailers on YouTube, play games (for the time Medal of honor, Black Ops) and everything works perfectly.
What NVIDIA card is in your laptop and what display driver is installed?
I have a Satellite A660 PSAW #C - 047017. Transfers of files with several sticks of memory appear to be limited to 2 MB/s. Theoretically, it is much more than an order of magnitude higher. Anyone else encounter this?
Hi Bookworm123,
Can you post more information about this behavior? What operating system you are using and if it s the version preinstalled Windows of Toshiba or not.
Generally support USB itself is a function of the speed of transfer of files on USB support
Have you checked the Device Manager for the yellow exclamation points on the USB ports? I would try a chipset driver in your case and it can be downloaded on the official page of Toshiba: http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers
I record a lot of video with a resolution of 1280 x 1024 or other resolutions that are not specifically mentioned in one of the presets.
Whenever I have import all of this video, Premiere Elements manages to export the video with the correct aspect ratio, but he he boxes with a black border. I realize that I am importing some standard, but in no case resolutions said first to do this. She manages to exit a video of 1280 x 1024, but with my original video resized to about 900 x 720 and it it boxes with black bars.
How can I do to solve this?
You cannot use standard video in Premiere Elements, carrot sizes. I'm sorry.
What is your source for videos at this size? It seems to be full screen off a computer monitor. If the answer is "Yes" - and if you use a program like Camtasia screen capture - Hunt has some suggestions to work with this video in the forum tips & advice to the right of this forum.
But you will never be able to edit video in 1280 x 1024 in Premiere Elements.
Multi-site blink drop-down menus and are not accessible. Why? I tried to restart and will by default nothing helps. This will not occur in Internet Explorer.
So far I did well on teststand using instruments ordinary like scope, power, electric, generator functions, dmm and switches. So I had to use a map of daqmx for a particular test. And I found that I can't pass the reference to the task through testst
