Satellite A75-S206: question on the use of the battery

Hello

I just replaced my battery Satellite A75-S206.
When I installed the battery, it fully charged.
When I turned on the laptop, the battery light turns off and the laptop only works on a power supply of power.

How can I change the setting and make work under voltage when it is plugged and on battery power when you are away the CAP?

Thank you

FAS

The laptop is still running on the battery if the AC adapter is not connected.

If you connect the AC adapter to the laptop then the laptop will automatically switch to power and the battery will be charged.

Everything works automatically. Then you n t need to change the settings.

  • Advanced Power Management under Windows 98SE for Satellite A75-S206?

On my Satellite A75-S206, I have a partition on my hard drive under Windows 98SE.

When I run Windows 98 on this model, the drive keeps spinning (does not turn down), the cooling fan is still running at high speed, I can't dim the monitor, or use any other feature of the advanced power management is available when running my XP partition. The utility of generic power in my Windows 98SE (Intel speed step) management does not address these problems, even if you use custom settings. The management utilities peak power supplied with recovery for this model CD only work on XP or Windows 2000, and these advanced power management utilities will not install on Windows 98.

Is there a driver download, or is there software available for Windows 98SE downloads emulate advanced power management features that work on XP? Is there another workaround solution?

    Hello

As far as I know, this unit was designed for the American market and came only with a XP Home and XP Pro OS.
I checked the driver page Toshiba we and don t find all the drivers for Win98.
Unfortunately, if you use the Win98, do without the features of Toshiba.
Sorry, there is nothing to do.

  • Satellite A100 - will not charge the battery

    Hello

I have ned to help. My Satellite A100 will not charge the battery. He works the power adaptor for the led indicates charging status, battery shows 1% of loading tatus information, but none does change - no loading any time. When disconnected everything just stops off like normal desktop.

I've already put battery in and out, made upgrades to the antivir software, makes Toshiba controls, tests, but what ever he did did not any change. If there is no way for restoration of battery how to check what the problem is I have no second battery or AC I can always buy new batttery but I don't know if the old one is broken and weather new would work properly?

    Best regards
    pawelg

    Hi pawelg,

I agree with the user above. The battery can be charged only up to 500 times, and after that, it must be replaced. I think it's the case now, I mean that everything works correctly on the AC adapter so I think that the battery must be the reason for this.

By the way: you can buy a new battery to an authorized service provider. ;)

  • Satellite M70 do not charge the battery

My satellite M71 do not charge the battery, not only when works now, but also when power is off. Do not charge batteries supplied with the adapter plugged.

    Hello

I agree with the user above.
This really looks like a malfunction of the battery. I put t know how old laptop is but generally cover the battery for about 1 year.

You know that, after the words of 500 of loading and unloading procedures battery automatically loses performance and battery life battery decreases.
    It s nothing unusual.

But if the battery is new, you must contact the ASP (partner) in your country.

  • Satellite L20-153: Question on the use of the power supply

    Hi eweryone,.

I just bought a L20-153, and I don't know if I can have the powersypply of cable connected to the computer constantly, as I use it as a home computer.
Is it dangerus to have the power cable plugged in, even if I don't use it for a day or two?

As the battery must be installed on the computer, so that it works, will be the battery damaged penalty if I have the cable permanently connected?

If anyone here knows sometings of these things, it would be a great help.

    Hi Stefan

There s no risk of having plugged power cable but it s not advised to have the AC adapter plugged in if you n t use the laptop.
If the AC adapter is connect the battery will be charged each time.
You must remove the battery when the AC adapter is connected. So, you can increase the battery working time.

  • Satellite Pro M70: Question on the port on the left hand side

Another question regarding the Pro M70 PSM75E, next to the hard drive (left side) there is a port which you can take off. I took it of and it looks like a chip grafx or something: s someone with the M70 not what it is.

    Thanks again

    Hello

Well, there are of many Satellite Pro M70. It s a great series.
But for example Satellite Pro M70-110 has a PCMCIA Type II slot.
You can use the different PCMICA card in this slot. But they must be compatible.
I guess this slot machine, you found a plastic Board. This is only for security.

However, if you want to learn more about your device, I would recommend reading the user manual which must be preinstalled on your laptop. You will find very, very, very ;) useful information.

  • Satellite M30: Questions about the battery, SD, energy-saving card reader

    1. After looking through the forums, it seems that my problem is not uncommon: my Toshiba Satellite M30 seems to have a life of the battery for about 10 minutes. Power not connected to the adapter, Windows detects 100%... 99%... Then 3%. Throughout the life of the battery is about 10 minutes, and I don't know why. Does anyone know? (Info from BG: laptop about 2 years, not too used)

    2. How will I know exactly WHAT model of Toshiba Satellite M30 I? (There is a code after the M30-part - I need this to find out what batteries I need to buy to replace)

    3. What is the nearest Service Center, I can talk to the United Kingdom with regard to my battery problem? From Toshiba Web site lists 20 companies different with Toshiba in them to the United Kingdom, and I have no idea which we touch!

    4. my SD card reader is a bit faulty. To put a SD card, no message appears to recognize the card - the laptop just doesn't recognize at all, and I do not see "SD card" or equivalent in "My Computer". However, if I put an SD card, and then restart the computer, I can see the SD card, it simply does not update while the computer is on, when I restart - cures for this?

    5. Finally, can I download the software of management of TOSHIBA POWER SAVER? I downloaded from this site but right now the only option when I open the TOSHIBA CONSOLE is 'Mouse' - there is no standby power options or network options or anything.

Thanks in advance, sorry there are so many questions and they are so different!

    Cheerio,
    John

    Hello

    1) looks like a dead battery. It s not unusual that the battery will discharge performance after about 2 years. As far as I remember, you can load and unload the battery for about 500 times. After this period, the lifetime battery decreases faster. The same symptom occurs for example with a cell phone battery. I think you should ask the new battery Toshiba service partner. PS: The guarantee covers the battery for about a year.

    (2) it's very easy at the bottom of the unit, you will find a label with the serial number and the name of detailed specifications.

    (3) visit this site:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/Su/su_gaspLocator.jsp?PF=true
You will find the database with ASP together all over the world. These guys are responsible for replacements, repairs, etc.

    (4) number of SD card is very strange. On my Satellite SD card window opens if I insert the SD card. You can try to remove the SD card from the Device Manager reader and after that new reboot, the OS should has new charge card CD driver. Eventually, it helps.

    (5) I don't know what you mean exactly but on the Toshiba driver page, you will find the tool power Toshiba compatible and taken in charge. If you have downloaded from the area Sat M30 driver so I think you can use it only on this laptop.

    take easy B-)

  • Question about the battery life of the Satellite L40-139

It's maybe a stupid question, but I have a portable Satellite L40-139 and the battery lasts less time, is this correct.
In the power management, I chose energy-saving. I used to be a mobile system and it could take 2-3 hours. The answers would be great.

The laptop uses Vista. Am I wrong?
Well, I don't wonder that you can run Notepad only for an hour approximately.
Vista needs for more resources as a BONE at the beginning. In addition, there are a few bugs in Vista, who have a bad influence on the performance of the battery!
You can perform a search in internet for Vista and the problem of battery on laptops and you will find a lot of information.
The same laptop with XP runs twice as long on battery as with Vista.

  • Satellite A210 - question about the battery life

I have a problem: my laptop works only 1 hour of unplugged to electricity, so my battery died after working of 55minutes (I mean I look at the pictures or typing in WORD). Is this normal? How long is the average battery life?
My model is SATELLITE A210/1AP (4000mAh) (my laptop is new; I bought it a week ago)
Please write how much your maximum battery work.

It is not easy to discuss this topic. With similar activity, I can use my Satellite A200, about 1 hour and 15 minutes. I don't know how you're using your laptop, but I recommend you to use all the power settings that can make the life of the battery a little longer.

Check the method of cooling, power profile, reduce the brightness of the display and turn off WIFI if you do not use and so on.

You must also understand that Vista needs far more resources than Windows XP Home edition and the life of the battery under Vista is not identical with Windows XP Home edition.

  • question about the battery of the laptop when you do not use

    Hello

I see that if you take the battery laptop out when you are not using and you're wotking with adapter suply, it wil extend the life of the battery.

But what if I do not use this battery for several days and I put it away wil he unload his omnipotence?

    Thank you

    Johan

    Hi Johan,.

I don't think that it helps extend the life of the battery if remove you it from the laptop. It will also pay power when you are not using it.  For more information on the functioning of the battery, I would say that you see the battery user guide provided by the manufacturer of your laptop.

Hope this information helps. If you have any other questions, we will be happy to help you.

  • Satellite A55-S1065 - after removing the battery, BIOS ask me password

So, something happened yesterday, and it seems to me that it is very strange.
I have a portable Satellite A55-S1065. And while I was with power point, the
computer crashes. In the midst of my confusion, I decided to delete
the battery just to make him stop.

So I did it and plugged it again
and I tried to turn on the computer. Now, the bios ask me a password,
but I've no idea what password it is that. Can someone help me solve this problem?
IM really desperate to find a solution to this since this computer contain
    many of my works.

    Thank you very much.

    > After removing the battery, BIOS ask me password
I know it may seem silly now, but I never heard of something like that. I use laptop for a long time and I had the experience with many others and strange question, but something like that, never.

Problem is that we are dealing here in the public forum and BIOS password is a very sensitive area and very important security feature, so we can not write here about some illegal ways how you can remove the BIOS password.

If there is no way to start your laptop, I recommend you contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.
    I'm sorry. :(

  • C50-A-19 t satellite does not start with the battery mounted

    OK, first post here.

I see similar questions coming, but as they are never QUITE the same, I am that posing in a new thread.

I left my Satellite from one day to the next (do not remember if I had put off, or he simply had 'gone to sleep', but it has been connected to the grid).

When I got to reboot, I got a power light on, but screen blank (black). After reading a few similar complaints on the internet (via another laptop!), I tried to remove the battery and power from the grid.
This worked well (I write him in this state right now).

But whenever I put the battery and try again, it will fail in the same way.
I tried this company "press and hold power for 30 seconds" without success (but I'm not 100% sure of the EXACT procedure actions sequence).

    I have a few questions:

    (1) I take the laptop away from my office - is there a problem with everything just works like this (i.e. of the grid, with no battery inserted) indefinitely?

    (2) in any case, I want to solve the problem.
If the battery has run COMPLETELY flat, and that the laptop can not it lights but also operate normally?

Alternatively, is probably that the battery has not experienced a catastrophic failure and simply needs to replace?
If so, I'll just buy a. BUT...

What I don't want to do, is to pay for a costly spare battery, to find that it was actually another factor at the origin of the problem, and I'm back to square one and out of Pocket!

    Any advice would be welcome.

    Thank you

    Mike

    Hello

According to your assignment, in most cases, you use the laptop connected to the power adapter but no battery. Is this correct?

First we need to know that if the AC adapter is plugged in, the laptop should work correctly with - and without inserting the battery.
If you unplug the AC adapter, the laptop should automatically switch to battery power. In this case, it is important that the battery is pretty cool power to provide the power for the laptop.
In case the battery is empty, the laptop will not light.

I recommend to insert the battery plug the power adapter and charge the battery for a longer period of time.

You should also check if the battery is recognized by the Windows system and the battery charge indicator (battery in the taskbar icon) shows the State of battery charge.

In case the battery is fully charged and the laptop does not work using the battery power only, you should test the new battery.
If new battery does not solve the problem, s for laptop hardware needs an audit.

  • Satellite L300D-12U I take the battery out of it?

    Hello

    I have a question.

I bought the toshiba Satellite L300-12U a long time ago and I've always used the adapter, even if the battery was still in it. But I heard that it is best to take it out, when you use the adapter. But if I get out the acuumulator if it, the place where the battery belongs to, would be open and the port could be damaged, right? And where should I put the acuumulator?
In the refrigerator? Or is it a dark, cool and dry enough?

    Greetings, jinx
BTW, sry because of errors, my English is bad :)

    Hello

It of not necessary to remove the battery while the laptop is connected to the power adapter.
New age batteries should not be affected.

But I think that the information in the user manual.
Check it simply and read how to handle the laptop.

    Welcome and good luck

  • Satellite A200 cease automatically charge the battery?

I need the Expert pepole here to tell me is the Toshiba Satellite A200 is automatically stop charrging battery after it come complete or should I unplug the charger to save the dough?

I hope that I have the answer to this question

    Thank you
    wait for your reply

I m not an expert but I have 2 laptops.
In two books, the battery while AC is plugged.
I think the latest battery technology allows to use the battery and the power adapter at the same time and it affects doesn t the battery strong performance.

But my 9 years into the first computer battery laptop doesn't work anymore. He died after about 2 years of use. Now, it lasts for about 1 min, then it s empty.
But the battery is old and it is nothing unusual.

Your battery is going to die also sooner or later, but in my s TI doesn't matter if the battery is inserted and that the AC adapter is plugged in or not.
