Satellite B717 C850 - activation Windows 10
I have a satellite B717 C850... I bought with windows 8 preinstalled top...
I have upgraded to Windows 10 and everything was fine until 3 weeks when I started having problems with so many sudden blue screens with different errors. I have tried so many solutions including restore windows to an earlier restore point, but nothing helps... until 2 days ago when I decided to clean the hard drives, but unfortunately I lost everything... I used my other laptop with windows 10 to download a version of win 10 on a USB key and installed on the laptop to format...
Now I have an inactive Windows 10. When Microsoft asked for a solution they told me to contact TOSHIBA to obtain the key of windows 8 that has been installed on the laptop... help please...

Toshiba does not provide the serial key to activate the systems.
Your laptop has been pre-installed with Windows 8, where the serial key has already been included.
I assume that you create the recovery media that would allow you to recover the laptop back to factory settings?
Well, in this case you can order recovery disc or USB of Arvato Services key and this would allow you to recover the OS of Windows 8, which is activated.
After that, you might go once again to Win 10.
I received an update yesterday from Microsoft update after the update has been successfully installed, I noticed that my PC account did not work and he says I need to activate windows!
My windows 8 has already been activated out of the box also 8.1 has been activated without problems... I tried my old CD key that it came with the laptop, wristwatch that my product key is a product key by default and cannot cannot be used for activation!
Please I need help
I have no idea why the activation of your system should be repeated, even though the Win 8 and 8.1 Win have been activated correctly in the past.
I think there must be a bug in the system. However, I recommend you to check using Microsoft Get with the activation errors page and check the recommended workaround solutions.
I hope that you would be able to fix it without recovering the system.
The fact is that the preinstalled is already activated (or it automatically activates the connection to the internet for the first time) and Toshiba does not provide the serial key to activate the system.
I bought a C850 for son #1 who has installed a game (doubtful).
It seems that it has done something for the display driver to win 8; so on startup the screen becomes white. Pressing enter or other random keys produced a form of time-artifacts in time on the screen
I guess I'm looking for more help on recovery
I tried pressing f2 during power on, but can't seem to get into setting up so I can insert a disc windows 8 & restore to a system restore point - please can someone advise?
I recommend checking this recovery of Windows 8 and documentation of repair.
[Windows 8 recovery & repair | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2A03ES0000R01.htm]
There are different ways to repair or recover the system Windows 8.
In my opinion for the moment 1rs you should try the "automatic repair" option which helps you to scans your files and settings, and if it detects a problem with any of them, it takes corrective action. No additional input is required.
After a problem with my PC, I had to re - install windows. Since I did, every 2 hours, I have a screen "activate window", but when I click on it, I have a "unidentified error". I called Microsoft, but they say I should call the producer to have an original key (it is not on the back of the laptop). I try to contact the Toshiba Support, but it is not free and I don't want to pay for it, one already pay for the computer
Can you help me please?
(Sorry for my English, I'm french).
By relocation do you mean own installation of OS or the Toshiba recovery procedure?
After the OS installation running a system Toshiba the serial key recovery is not necessary because the image of the 'system' will be activated if you connect to the laptop computer to the internet for the first time.
I face a problem after the upgrade of my TOSHIBA SATELLITE PRO C850-1EQ preinstalled version of windows 8 to 8.1.
After installation windows ask the product key to activate windows 8.1, but I don't have this activation key.
I called Microsoft (Greece), but could not help me and told me to call Toshiba (Greece).
The man of Toshiba technical support told me to remind Microsoft!
In addition, he told me to check here (https://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/windows8_1-upgrade-stepbystep/) before starting the process. Step # 7 says "don't forget your Windows password. You may need to enter after update. »
Now, I'm back to Win 8.
Is there a way to learn my activation key before installation of w8.1?
I tried to find that the use of various tools, but nobody found the key.
In addition, after 8.1 install, a message says:
+ Error code: 0xC004C003 +.
+ The activation server determined the specified product key has been blocked.
I trust Toshiba and I want to use the latest version of w8.1.
I'd be grateful if someone Toshiba technician could help me with this problem.

No, the preinstalled Windows 8 Toshiba is already activated and during the upgrade to 8.1 Win will not ask you to enter the serial key...
Windows 8 is activated?
Try this: create DVDs of Toshiba Recovery (or flash USB memory stick). Use the recovery media to recover the computer laptop back to factory settings. Update of the Windows 8 at the last State and then do the upgrade to 8.1 Win
Hello Forum users,.
Sorry for my bad English. I'll try my best ;-)
I'm trying to upgrade Windows 8.0 8.1 on a Satellite Pro C850-1MX.
Before that I removed:
-Realtek Audio Driver
-Realtek WLAN Driver
-Bluetooth filter Driverpackage
-Toshiba Health Monitor
I also checked the notebook with the update of the Windows Advisor 8 / attend.
Whenever I try the update is installed, the computer restarts and says while the previous version is restored because the update failed (0xC1900101 & 0 x 30018).
I tried to restore the laptop to factory (using the recovery partition), deleted the drivers, tried again. Same failure.
Where is the problem?
Someone at - it an idea?
I Don t know what to do then.
Upgrade the win 8 to 8.1 win, to follow some step by step instructions:
This can be found here: [how update of Windows 8 for Windows 8.1 | http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/windows8_1-upgrade-stepbystep/]
Note: after installing Windows 8.1 drivers Toshiba and tools needs to be updated in the correct order.
The Win 8.1 driver installation instruction can be found on the page of the Toshiba UE driver you laptop model section.
Hi, I recently bought the Toshiba Satellite Pro C850-1CW
It came with windows 8 preinstalled,
I have no use or interest in windows 8, so I formatted the hard drive and installed windows 7.
The problem I have is that there are no windows 7 drivers avalible for this laptop.
However, I managed to install all devices, but am left with an unknown device in Device Manager that left me completely puzzled after trying everything I could think of,
If guys, any help would be greatly appreciated friendly, brand...
Have a look here in this How To doc:
It would allow you to know which device you have and then you could find compatible drivers
I can tell you that in many cases drivers released for other series of laptop would be too much work. You can test the drivers released for Satellite C850 (not Pro) series
No one knows how you can activate the "Numlock" key to start the laptop.
Concern: Satellite Pro C850 - 1LN
I look in the BIOS (6.70) > advanced... but find nothing
I am also looking Windows 8.1, but also without success.
Any idea to help me?
Thanks in advance.
As much as I know there is no certain special option to turn on the num lock and you can not define is as default to be always enabled. Extra keypad on the keyboard is designed for use with different applications such as Office Excel and allow you an entry comfortable numbers in some document.
On my laptop (P500), I noticed that when I turn off laptop with active NumLock will be on next start so let is all the TIME.
I'm unable to connect a Toshiba Satellite Pro C850-15 q Part No.: PSKC9E-01JOOHEN to a projector, laptop computer does not wish to duplicate the screen for the projector.
The laptop worked without any problem with a spotlight for months, but its only today that it is unable to connect to a projector via a VGA cable.
So far, I have tried to use the laptop on different different projectors, but will not work on any.
I have used different VGA cables, uninstalled the driver display and then reinstalled the latest driver, updated chipset and bios but nothing seems to work.
Physically, the VGA port seems fine, I tried to project using FN + F4 and the windows key + P, the two options do not work. I have also a right-click on the desktop, properties, all the eyes of correct parameters, also sought to graphics options right click again this sounds all very well.
The laptop is running windows 7 32 bit.
Suggestions as to what to try next?
What exactly happens when you press Fn + F4 (or only F4)?
Other function keys work correctly?
The laptop seems to also support the exit HDMI port.
Are you able to connect the laptop to an external monitor and the output video using the F4 function key?
Am 90 per cent positive that this is not the fault of a broken keyboard keys do seem loose and work very well for a while.*
Basically, the other day I noticed the keys 3 and 5 were not work next to the f3 key (meaning I now have to go into the settings of brightness, whenever I want to increase it). I thought "I'll just reboot and see if that fixes anything" and he did... temporarily. I have to restart every time that I've lost the ability to use these keys, but now it does nothing.
There is no update which should install Windows (updated 8.1 update 1 recently).
There is no update options the keyboard driver (the box is grayed out).
There is nothing stuck, they seem not damaged or less they touch.

* I asked this question on the Microsoft forums and I've learned to run the troubleshooter of material (did not help) and if defective, to search for the latest drivers for keyboard - seems to me later for my model, such as the toshiba site list any keyboard updates.*
I also grabbed the driver files if this will be of no use at all:

Can anyone give me any help? I'll buy a USB keyboard in a few weeks anyway, but for now, it's really annoying not being able to use these keyboard shortcuts: P
> I asked this question on the Microsoft forums and I've learned to run the troubleshooter of material (did not help) and if defective, to search for the latest drivers for keyboard - I seem to have the most recent for my model, as from Toshiba Web site does not list the keyboard updates.
It seems that this opinion is not from Microsoft staff, but some users of the forum.
You should know that the drivers of keyboard (developed by Microsoft) are still part of the Windows System. Any Windows OS you use, the keyboard driver would be always installed as part of the OS. This means that the drivers of special keyboard DON T exist but system uses own driver...
You can check the functionality of the keyboard in USB external keyboard.
If external keyboard works properly, the internal keyboard is malfunctioning and must be replaced.
If the external keyboard does not work properly too, then I recommend you to recover the laptop using Toshiba HDD recovery. Otherwise, there could be question of motherboard (keyboard controller).
I just signed up on this forum because I hope you guys can help me with a really strange problem.
I recently bought a Satellite Pro C850-1MX
It came with Win8, but given that I don't really like Win8, I bought an additional Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) license and installed on the laptop.
The problem I describe, also arrived on 8 to win, which makes it even more strange.
As soon as I connect a cable to the RJ-45 port, Windows tells me, that the LAN connection is not connected.
As soon as I unplug the cable, Windows starts looking for a network and actually found one!
So, the only way to connect to my LAN cable is... I have activate the LAN connection, wait that it detects a network (without the cable connected!) and meanwhile to connect the cable to the network port.
Now... If I disconnect the cable once again, Windows still shows its connected.
I must say, that I am a Director of professional network for more than 10 years now, so I should know my systems, but this never happened to me before. Event log shows nothing, re-installing drivers did nothing either. IM quite confused here and I hope you guys can help me.
Thanks for reading, and let me know if you need any additional info!
Greetings from the Germany,
To be honest I confused m.
I would try to start talking about the drivers installed, since you changed the system for Win 7.
All the network devices, such as card WLan and LAN card are properly recognized in Device Manager?
As I m not wrong not the laptop was equipped with a network card Realtek-8111F (1000BASE-T/100Base-TX/10Base-T) and WLan RTL8723AE Realtek b/g/n card.
If both should appear in the device properly Manager if you have installed the drivers correctly.
> As soon as I unplug the cable, Windows starts looking for a network and actually found one!
Are you sure that you speak of LAN and WLAN?
For me it made no further since. If the network cable is unplugged, the notebook would connect to the WLan where WiFi is enabled.
Satellite Pro C850, suddenly had res cross on its icon and no noise. Says the audio device not installed. Have tried deactivation/activation and also updated, no joy.
Can anyone help?
Fixed it, to download a driver.
I have 3 Satellite Pro C850-A-10Z, A - 15V and A - 15 q
They are all running Windows 7 64 bit
They have all the Tempro messages recently received on an update of the video player
Toshiba service Center detects an update, but it will not install on any of them - no error message given.
I tried to install it manually by following the link Tempro and download
11/02/15 220.127.116.11 video player
The update runs, and then displays the message
"cannot find our player in your system. Installation interrupted.
I thought that the Toshiba service center was supposed to report updates.
Nobody knows what could happen here?
Are all the three machines pre-installed with the original version of operating system that has been delivered with the machine?
bought a new satellite Pro C850-1MX (PSCBZE 00M009GR) in December 2013. System works virtually unchanged to the State of delivery. Yet installed OpenOffice and Firefox, AdobeReader in most actual versions. And a updated driver for AMD GPUS to the latest version. No other changes made.
Now I tried to upgrade to 8.1 via Windows-App-Store Windows. Download was made, run, reboot, installation of changes, preparation of devices--> restart, rollback to 8.0 with 0xC1900101 - 0 x 30018 error code upgrade.
Searched internet solutions: Toshiba ISC
-updated all the components Toshiba via TOSHIBA Service Station--> fact
-(Lien: [http://www.toshiba.de/innovation/generic/windows8_1-upgrade-stepbystep/]): uninstall some components: esp. LAN/WLAN-driver.
Hmmm... If I do I can't access to Windows App-Store to re-run the upgrade because I have no connection to the network. Stupid...
-Why I'm updating a nearly unchanged system due to some driver-inflicted where I has not changed anything of the delivery status of can´t?
Please indicate any tip/solution. Thank you!
> Now tried to upgrade to 8.1 via Windows-App-Store Windows. Download was made, run, reboot, installation of changes, preparation of devices--> restart, rollback to 8.0 with 0xC1900101 - 0 x 30018 error code upgrade.
This error message appears because of some incompatible drivers and tools that are already pre-installed on Windows 8.
This problem has been reported several times here in the forum and has been resolved as indicated by user harrie_1 on January 12, 2014
Look in this thread: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=74631
Check that drivers must be uninstalled in Appendix a.
[How update of Windows 8 for Windows 8.1 | http://support.toshiba.com/sscontent?contentId=4003162]
+ What is important to remove the internet connection. +
+ Only use to download 8.1 and then disconnect (also the Lan cable) +.
+ After Win start 8.1 for the first time do not connect to the internet. +
+ On another pc download first for 8.1 audio, realtek wlan and bluetooth drivers and driver display. +
+ Install and reboot after that when system is stable, you can connect to the internet and download the updates of windows. +
PS: this thread should be closed to avoid the misunderstandings and because the other thread already exists

* Third start-up (= first boot): WIFI OK *.
* Fourth Starter (= second boot): WLAN failed *.

Lack of resources, the WLAN icon is displayed for a few seconds, then "no network" icon.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Your order of installation of drivers contains the Intel WLan driver.
But the laptop Satellite Pro C850-1 GR was equipped with the Realtek RTL8723AE WLan/BT combo card.
I think that you need to uninstall the Realtek WLan driver and WLan Intel driver.
In addition, you must pay attention to the functionality of BT.
The card is compatible with the BT and you need to install the driver Package Realtek Bluetooth filter before installing the battery Toshiba BT.
In addition, do not forget that this WLan adapter is enabled by using the FN + F12 (or just the F12)
Finally and above all do not forget WHAT BIOS the dafault value
