Satellite C die slowly

Last week my trackpad stopped working. This was the beginning of a lot of problems. The battery has now begun to empty very quickly and I have to re - enter the time and date on the portable computer system settings that the battery is discharged.

Now, I started my laptop today and half the apps are now refusing to work.

someone else had this or know of a fix?

You still have the same problems when running off the power?

If this isn't the case, I guess that your battery is drunk.

I got lucky to have had the use of a MacBook Pro 5.2 for recent years.  I had the chance to receive on the basis of a long-term loan, but it seems now it begins to die.

During most of the last year or so it has not lit immediately on the power button.  If it has been on standby or a stop, when I press the power button it momentarily gives his normal rev before clicking on turn off a few seconds later.  Until now, this process became plu i.e. I now repeat pressing the power button (two times up to 20 times or) more until it starts really successfully.  It's as if the laptop had to heat up to a certain temperature before she starts up!

In recent days, she gradually gets worse.  I usually leave all the time but now I run which means it close and start the long process when I go to turn it on.

I am currently uploading photos of family and vids to iCloud and nothing else on this subject would be primarily films etc.

Is there anything I can do to remedy this?

It's a long story but I can't give it to Apple to fix and I'm unable to approach my friend who gave me a.  (Let me confirm clearly that it is not stolen etc!)

  • Re: Satellite L300 starts slowly

    Hello world

I don't know if my question is associated or laptop OS related, so I thought I would start here.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L300, running Windows Vista Home Edition. I love this laptop, it's probably the best I've ever had. He ticks all the boxes (battery, speed, display, etc.), but there is one aspect that pushes me in the wall - power on it takes an age to go beyond the home screen of Windows to the login prompt. It is the behavior of Vista, or is there a Toshiba effect going on when starting?

I have a desktop machine in the House under the same OS and it starts pretty directly to the login screen - which makes me jealous! This kind of start would be very useful when I'm mobile!

If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear from you.

    Thank you very much

    Alex

    Hello

How long does take to start? my laptop takes about 40 sec. You can also try to defragment your hard drive with defragmentator.

  • Satellite P200D died - nothing on the screen, no HARD drive noise

    Hello
    Toshiba P200D-112 (satellite)
Just 2 years and already 'OUT '.

When I press the Start button, the power light comes on and will stay on.
The fans start but stop in a few seconds and nothing more happens.
Nothing on the screen, no hard noise complete silence.
If I continue to press the start for a few seconds power button is sharp as usual.

Looks like a protection stop start to work.

I changed the CPU for nothing (the only chip that I can change without welding).
I tried with battery and without the battery.
    I changed the HD.
    I deleted the DVD player.
Now, I have on the table, just the motherboard and I have always the same thing.

Do you please an idea on the reason of this phenomenon.
    Thanks Christos

    Hello

I see you didn't check the RAM modules.
Usually, it is the first part that should be checked before you disassemble the laptop everything and try to replace the other, new parts like CPU or similar

But if the replacement of the RAM won't help, so I put t see any other solution proposal to replace the whole motherboard.

It's a shame because the new motherboard costs a small fortune

  • How can I keep my computer die slowly again?

I used in a hurry to get a new computer because it was all shiney and new and work quickly for a year or two before, he began to suffer from what whether computers suffer once they have served a bit. Nowadays it is not get excited because they are about as slow and problematic within a couple of weeks that the former was.

I've learned a few tricks. Disk clean up does not seem to make a difference more, out of fragging is configured to run itself automatically so either does nothing or things would be even worse without him! I now use the Task Manager to stop programs from starting when I turn on the computer (except of course the security software) and this helps, but I still often have days when the computer is just not "motivation". It's particularly bad for me because I often just grab a spare room half an hour on that when I had the chance and half an hour can easily (and often) be wiped out while waiting for it to start correctly or having to sit through updates or another problem that I have no control.

I tried to type a question into google to get advice, but all that happens is many offers to sell me a software that I probably is unnecessary and could even worse, especially if they are doubtful, and how would I know the good from the bad?

If there is a software that would keep things working well then I would be willing to buy it, but feel a little cheated to when I have an operating system and security software that I feel between them should have to take care of things.

    Thanks for any advice,

  • Problem of graphics card on Satellite P20 552 & Qosmio G10

    Hallo,

    I have two 17-inch monitors computers laptop Toshiba as desktop replacement: 1 x Satellite P20 552 & 1 x Qosmio G10.
Both are dead graphics card problem.
The conclusion of my research on the WEB, it's the nVidia FX Go5700 card seems to be the weak point of these laptops.

On the Satellite Map dies slowly: during startup Toshiba logo disappeared but WinXP logo was very good load, then WinXP loaded with the screen not refreshing and the problem of synchronization, etc..
The Qosmio died suddenly: activities on the hard drive I guess load WinXP, but black screen (internal and external)!

I know that, unlike the desktop computer, the graphics processor is not a separate entity; It is built into the motherboard. My questions are:

    (1) who should be blamed, Toshiba or Nvidia?
    (2) how to prevent premature rupture of the card/motherboard?
    (3) the card/motherboard could be repaired?

    Hallo

I have red Satellite P20 304 and it still works well. Maybe you can offer this story to someone else, but I can say that Satellite P20 is great for laptop. I like it. Old, but still has an attractive design.
If you have no luck I can understand it but to talk in general and write about weakness is for me nothing more than absurd.

Nice questions here especially one. :)
1 - to blame someone will help any. Try to get the replacement and get it working again.
    2. There is nothing you can do. All you can do is to take care of the use of the laptop and do not overheat.
    3. as far as I know that something like this is not possible. In this case the motherboard will be replaced.

What you can do is to check eBay from time to time. You may be lucky and you can buy used motherboard for a good price and exchange it.

  • Re: Satellite L500D - cannot get the optical disc drive to work

Back again with this problem and this thread began again as it appears the original thread has been 'locked' ~ been awhile so it is aceptable.

I think that the TS-L633C TSST DVD/CD RW on my system is in fact die slowly, now I can not yet use Toshiba DVD PLAYER to watch DVDs. See http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=204206#204206 for the story.

Using the windows tool "FixIt" on a blank DVD got all green ticks OK but when I went to play DVDs ~ nothing!

How the reader '' hunt '' when I put any DVD in it and then fails, suggests that the reader was not not little by little and I must be looking for a new. Shame really, because I haven't used at all, hence the long time between my responses on this forum.

    So OK, where from here.

Nearest service center is a 5 hour drive, and I will send this laptop for my financial and other stuff done busy resourses is more allow me to simply replace this system and start from scratch.

I'm ready to buy another drive, but cannot locate any online (new) and I am not aware if there are other brands / types which would be appropriate.

    Toshiba Satellite L500D-PSLKOA-00U009 - TSST TS-L633C DVD/CD RW

    Any ideas anyone?

To be honest, the situation is strange to me, and I think that you spent too long with all this.

In my opinion, you have to manage fast. The fist issue is: either defective or not ODD?
The reasons why it doesn't work with a Toshiba DVD player is not relevant at all. You can test it with VLC media player to see how it works.

So I recommend you to follow:
You should not change your preinstalled operating system that you use for work or anything else. Try to get another HARD drive. Swap and install the OS by using recovery disc. Test the functionality of the WEIRD with the settings to be sure that the problem persists or not.

In the end, if you are willing to trade the player s check Manual of use and you will be find the list of all compatible optical disc readers you can use with your model of laptop.

  • Drive recovery damaged for Satellite U200-115

My Satellite worked very slowly so I decided to reformat and start again using the recovery disk. He got 65 percent and stopped. I tried a second time and it does the same thing. When I watched the disc, I found that he has a deep scratch across it. Have now left me with a reformatted hard drive but not bone. Any advice would be welcome.

For me, there are two options for you:
-You can try to restore disc original order under https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
-Install the operating system using the Microsoft installation disc
All the necessary drivers, tools and utilities that you can find on Toshiba download page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com

  • Satellite 300CDS - RTC battery replacement

    Hello

I think that the RTC battery in my old laptop satellite 300CDS died and I want to replace it, because the date system is lost if I don't use the computer for a while. The battery itself seems relatively easy to find on online shops (Varta standard part).

I did, however, find a manual with enough detail on how to "disassemble" the computer without the risk of damaging it.

Do you have such a guide or manual?

    Thank you
    Maxim

I think this RTC battery replacement is a bit risky and you should be careful, because you could damage other parts.
If you don't know how to replace these batteries, you should always ask a technician for laptop for support and assistance.
In most cases, this service is not very expensive and you can be sure that your computer will work correctly after this procedure.

  • Satellite 2410: Question on HARD drive replacement

    Hello

The hard drive on my laptop Satellite 2410 died a few days ago. Replace it with another, one Seagate.

    Hello Rizwan

If you n t have the Toshiba Recovery Cd, you can use the original Windows operating system.
In addition, you need Toshiba drivers and tools. What you can find on the Toshiba site.
You need to download the drivers and install them after installing Windows.

Here you can download the drivers:

  • Satellite A210 FS3, PSAFGC-FS308C. BIOS update gone wrong.

    Hi all

I'm looking for info on my laptop satellite who died after a bios update.

Model is A210-FS3 (PSAFGC-FS308C)... bios uncertain.

I updated this laptop about 6 months ago (been dormant since) through windows7 beta (I know bad idea)... after he stop it came back never to life... He does not POST... Power light just blinks.

Is there a way to fix this without having to replace the motherboard? I read how to do this with a USB floppy, but it seems sketcky to me.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I think that the replacement of the motherboard is not necessary (in most cases).
Maybe the ROM module has been flashed properly.
In this case, the BIOS has to be flashed using the crisis procedure but as far as I know, this can be done by an ASP.

    I found this thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=48845

The guy managed to reflash the BIOS again. But once again, it s a sensitive procedure and usually an ASP must be contacted for a solution.

  • Problem with Toshiba authorized service providers

    I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A300-17.

Recently, I had the following problem: while the laptop was running normally, whenever I opened it I got a black screen (Please note that the output sound was normal). When I connected the laptop to an external monitor (VGA), I myself went to be normal for her and so I was able to work without any other problems.
After a while, I decided to get the laptop for service providers authorized by Toshiba in Greece.

They told me that the problem was the motherboard, that sounded really strange because I had no problem with starting. When I went to get the laptop on their part, I discovered that the computer cannot start.

So I asked why this is happening and why it worked before and it doesn't work now.
Their response was that my motherboard was "die slowly" and that they did not open the laptop to check what was wrong with her, but only an online diagnostic test.

Of all the foregoing, I believe they have done something to my laptop and caused the problem with the motherboard. I tried to contact Toshiba Europe and inform them about the behavior of their authorized service providers by sending an e-mail in Germany ([email protected]), in the hope that they would do something in this regard. Unfortunately, I had no answer.

Please note that I am a PhD student and my laptop is necessary for my research activity. All this delay has a major impact on my work.

Who do I contact in order to bypass this?
Is there anyone in the treatment of cases like that of Toshiba?
Is it possible that a company like Toshiba just don't care about their customer satisfaction?

How long should I wait before this problem is solved?

    Hello

It of really hard to tell how much of the material could be faulty, but if the laptop does not start, then a serious problem of material is possible.
You said that the internal screen was dark, but you could work with an external monitor attached to the laptop.

    > When I connected the laptop to an external monitor (VGA), I myself went to be normal for her and so I was able to work without any other problems

Well, that means the motherboard and graphics card might be ok and that the internal display will be affected.
However, only a technician of the laptop could provide more details, after the material has been checked, so I would say you should get in touch with the guys once more in order to get the extract.

I found these contact data for the Greece page ASP from Toshiba:

  • HARD drive dead, change?

I have a Macbook Pro 15 "i7 mid 2012. My HARD drive just died (slowly and painfully). In a first stage, it froze, then after a reboot, Finder was to crash and restart. Another reboot failed, it just froze on the logo Apple, next took 20 minutes, but it finally began. I thought I could solve the problem by upgrading the operating system (he had done that in a while, I got Yosemite) so I downloaded El Capitan via the app store, but when it was supposed to restart to start the installation, it froze again. I also have Windows 8 on bootcamp so I switched to that to see if it was also weird, but it looked good so I decided to start OS X in safe mode, see if it helps. It didn't, although it start faster, but Finder broke again and finally it froze. I started toward the top of the recovery partition, I have not a Time Machine backup, but an option to reinstall OS X presented themselves, since I already downloaded El Capitan. I tried, but when he asked me to choose the drive it says just that Macintosh HD is locked. I started the recovery disk utility to try to fix it, but he said that he could not, and I should try and save the files that I can and delete it (or replace). At this point I could is no longer connects on OS X, either normally or in safe mode, it would just turn off after about half a minute of the apple logo, and when I tried Windows he just said that there are no operating system. I finally started to recovery and I erased (reluctantly) Macintosh HD, hoping that I could at least save the HARD drive and reinstalling OS X, even if I lost everything. That no longer works and now it won't start in the recovery and said utility disk, the disk has a hardware problem that is not repairable and S.M.A.R.T. status is a failure.

Now, I'm sure that I won't be able to retrieve my files (but good me if I'm wrong and you know a way) so I need to buy a new HARD drive. Is there a certain type or brand should I buy? I should get the same as (a Samsung 500 GB ST500LM012 I think)? Then I upgraded to an SSD and if so who would work? And also once I change it, how can I reinstall OS X? The Macbook didn't come with a CD and I'm guessing that the new HARD drive will not this recovery partition or an equivalent.

I'm sorry that I wrote a novel here, I was trying to be thorough. Thanks for any help!

Any case 2.5 "HDD will work. My personal preferences are HGST and Seagate but there will be a cheerleader for all brands,

It is the same for one SSD.  The best right now is OWC and Crucial, in my opinion.  This is based on personal experience and the return of the veterans participating ASC comments.

    Search here for possible candidates:

    http://eShop.MacSales.com/shop/hard-drives/2.5-notebook/

With respect to data recovery, you can try to search for software on the Internet, generally, there is a free trial version and if it seems to work, you will need to purchase the software.  You can also retain the services of professional data recovery company, but that will be very expensive with no guarantee.
