Satellite C50 - A - Logitech - serious silent subwoofer speaker system

Hello

I have a brand new Toshiba Satellite A - 19 t C50. I have a Logitech speaker system that produces a pleasant sound. When I plug it into the new laptop, the subwoofer doesn't produce a very quiet sound, leaving an overall metal sound. The speakers work perfectly with another laptop.

Is that what I can do to change the sound levels or the sound card is at fault?

Thank you

If you connect the external speakers to the laptop, you should also check the settings of volume and level. Usually, you can do this in Control Panel-> sound-> playback.

As far as I know, that you can also find sound additional application called DTS® Sound & DTS Studio sound that is preinstalled on your laptop

Its DTS Studio is a suite of improvement audio premium which uses the revolutionary audio technology to provide the most impressive and the most realistic listening experience ever offered for a two speaker playback environment.
To access this utility, click on:
Office-> Office help (in the task bar)-> Media Entertainment & -> DTS Studio Sound

You can also find the DTS sound (he delivers an immersive surround sound with deep dialogue, rich bass and crystal clear). Click
Office-> Office help (in the task bar)-> multimedia animation & -> his DTS

Check also.

    Hello

I just bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite C50-A-1JV that has no operating system. I tried to install windows XP, but I get the following error: no boot device - please reboot the system. I turn on the laptop, put the Windows XP CD inside and then restart then I press F12, I have WEIRD boot--> HARD drive order in the menu then restart then press f12 then click on strange but it does not start.

    How can I fix it?

Windows XP is the old operating system and not supported for this machine. Even Windows 7 is not supported for all machines produced in the last 12 months.
To be honest, there is no sense trying to install Windows XP Home edition on your new machine.

Please visit the download page of Toshiba on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp and check the supported operating systems. If possible I recommend to install Win7 64bt.

  • Satellite C50-B-12V: mic turns off when I plug the headphones

    Hello

I recently bought a computer laptop Toshiba Satellite, Satellite C50-B-12V

I'm really happy with my new lap top - thought I am facing a problem.
It seems that the port to plug in headphones and the port to plug in a microphone is the same. so, if I plug headphones wireless for a Skype call, the other party can not hear me.

Is there anyway that I can adjust the computer so that it shouldn't be a problem?

Again, I would be able to plug the headset on my computer to hear my interlocutor better - and who have not cause the other party cannot hear me.

    Hello

This integrated headphone / microphone port equipped with a plug of 4 section (identified with 3 black rings)
You have two options to solve the problem mentioned.
You must use a headset / microphone with jack combo or you could buy an adapter 'Y' which can connect your current helmet with separate microphone and speaker back to the headset / combo jack.

    Something like that:

  • Only the C partition on the new Satellite C50-B-14Z

    Hello

I'm not an experienced user, but I'll do my best to explain the problem.

I bought Toshiba Satellite C50-B-14Z with 8.1 installed Windows, and when starting the system, I noticed that there is only one partition of hard drive, the C partition. When you enter the disk management, I see there are 4 basic partitions already (500 GB disk):

    -Recovery - 1 GB
    -EFI system - 100 MB
    -Recovery - 10.97 GB
-C (boot, page file, crash dump, primary partition) - 453,57 GB

They are all primary partitions, and I read on the forums that you can have only 4 those primary, so I can't add one more to the D partition, I would like to have.
Possibility that I offered in "actions" is to create a virtual hard drive, but I guess that is not the same thing.
I also read that you can create new partition if you have "unallocated" space (partition), but all 4 before indicated are those primary and not affected.

Then, the next opportunity that I read on is to do a right-click on C and "reduce volume", and then create new partition from the rest of the space (if I understand it is good), but then I read in Windows Help:
"When you shrink a partition, all regular files are automatically transferred to the disk to create the new unallocated space. There is no need to reformat the drive to shrink the partition. » ... "If the partition is a raw partition (that is, a lack of a file system) that contains data (for example, a database file)", reducing the partition may destroy the data. ""

Normally, I have never tested a large part with the C partition, and now I don't know if I would destroy some system files while doing this "shrinkage" and I don't have the CD installation for the system, so I can't fix it if I ruin something.

    Please advise...

Yes, this is the right way to have more than one partition. You can define what capacity should partition C and any free space can be "convert" to the D partition.

One last thing: don't forget to create a recovery (DVD or USB) media. It is very important to have recovery image back-up.

  • Satellite C50 - update Windows questions

    Hello

I bought a Satellite C50 windows 8 year last for my partner (who has the patience of a gnat and click on everything and nothing), when windows updates were installed on a month ago, she lost the office link, she kept flashing on and outside. She managed to access the Internet through internet Explorer tab (only for the bingo & ebay lol).

An other recent windows update took forever to load then a failure to configure changes return messages that froze the laptop.

Yesterday, I managed to return to the default value, all settings, after all personal preferences, I went to update the page to change the settings to apply updates before installing, and he said he had to be updated before choosing the updates!

I'm back there again and I was wondering if there was a specific update that is causing all this trouble. Although my bank balance is looking better, I'll throw this lappy in the bin and just buy another!

    Help, please. Thanks :)

    Hello

In general, I agree with the view of s IronMan.
The point is that you can always set the computer laptop initial configuration using the recovery procedure.

After this procedure the system windows will install updates from Microsoft.
This may take some time and the unit must be restarted several times during this procedure.

A system update will install before other updates have been installed.
Therefore, this process could take a little longer.

In addition, you will need to update to the latest system 8.1 Win the old Win 8.
This can be done after have installed all updates to Win 8.
The Win 8.1 update should be done as recommended by Toshiba.

The complete step by step instruction can be found here:
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/innovation/generic/windows8_1-message/

You will be also informed about updates of Toshiba Toshiba service station preinstalled.
In this case, it will be very easy to get the latest version of the driver.

I hope this helps a little

  • Vodafone Huawei 3 G Dongle will not work on Satellite C50 and Win8

Recently bought this laptop running Windows 8.
No matter what I try, I can't do this USB 3 G Huawei Vodafone dongle to be recognized by this Toshiba laptop.

This dongle works in all our other laptops and laptops and tablets from other brands with Windows 7 or Windows 8 is certainly not something to do with the dongle the software, he moved, drivers or the operating system.

At a time where it is plugged into the port USB, he opens the window asking what we want to do, telling me that the port and USB controller works, but that's all that.

When you open the Vodafone software to connect to the 3G option Connect is grayed out and no device is indicated. In other words, it is not to recognize the modem for a reason any.

As he is OK anywhere else, it must be something to do with this Toshiba laptop.

Any suggestions / help would be greatly appreciated.
We have loaded other versions of the Vodafone software and it made no difference. It must be a hardware conflict problem.

It seems that the device does not recognize the USB dongle.
Did you test all USB ports?

As much as I know Satellite C50-A-xxx supports 1 USB 3.0 port and 2 USB 2.0 ports
    Check all three ports.

You can also delete all the USB controllers and hubs in Device Manager and restart the laptop. After restarting again the unit should automatically recognize the USB ports.
Also try to disable the sleep & Charge USB in the BIOS (if available).

I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite C50-B00N Intel Core i5 500 GB laptop with model o. PSCLUA-00N007 to web development and design purposes.

I was faced with poor graphic of loading in all browsers - Firefox, Chrome, Internet explorer. Some of the images and graphics on the Web site do not properly load, and they also seem to be really slow.

Appreciate your help to solve this problem.

    Thank you

    Hi Anu

It is not easy to say what the problem is here. You posted in the networking and internet category, so I have to ask if you're sure the problem described is in connection any with internet connectivity to 100%?
Did you do some basic tests like difference between WLAN and LAN or test of connection of your device to different networks?

For two months, I have Satellite S50 - B originally preinstalled with Win8.1 and it works perfectly. I use it at home and in my office.

  • Satellite C50 - A - the upgrade to win little 8.1 win7

    Hello

I was wondering, I have the Windows 8.1, upgrade of the media that I had for my Toshiba Satellite C50 - A computer. Upgrade to 8.1 Windows and got the upgrade DVD, came with the laptop. So I do it just insert the DVD, click on Set up, or do I need to go back to factory settings, then insert the DVD and as a blind it student, will need sighted assistance.

Any help, advice, tips of people made this before. I have a 1 TB USB drive Toshiba external hard, so have saved all that and added a number of things today, but saved the rest of my stuff, docs, College work, emails, my settings for RSS feeds, contacts for outlook 2010, programs, music, TV, movies, bookmarks, etc, so all advice.

Going to do it tomorrow. make a programming course and the Professor uses windows 8.1, and need to develop windows blinds and windows phone apps.

    Marvin from Adelaide, Australia.

The exact specification of your model is unknown to me, but I assume that you got your machine with recovery disc Win8.1 so if you want to use Win8.1, you must start your computer with the recovery disc and make clean OS install.

I don't know if you got your machine with Win7 preinstalled initially. If so create recovery media (DVD or USB) using pre-installed recovery disc creator Toshiba before you start the installation of Win8.1.
This created recovery media, you can use if you want to have the machine with Win7 again.

  • Installation of recovery on Satellite C50-A-1Jn

My son has a Satellite C50-A-1john and was doing a restore of the partition of drive hard, but stopped at halfway.

When it tries to start, it receives the message "no boot device - please reboot."

He did not create a floppy disk to restore his laptop, but I found where I can order one from Toshiba. Before I spend £30, I want to know if it will restore his laptop.

Recovery image installation can not be interrupted. Now, the laptop is confused and unbootable. Problem is that interrupted recovery installation cannot continue, cannot be started from the beginning and also not ended correctly.

What you need to do now is to get the installation of recovery disc and start the installation again.

After doing this you will have factory again and everything works OK.
Biggest mistake has been that media recovery is not created in the past.

Here is some information on my laptop:

    Satellite C50-A569

    Serial number: 2E161369S

She was purchased by the Qatar.

I hope you will reply quickly.

    Thank you.

    Hello

According to specifications specification , you got your laptop with the preinstalled version of Win8.1.
With other words, your laptop has been pre-installed with original recovery image designed for this model of laptop. Preinstalled recovery image should not be enabled.

Recovery image is also saved on the HARD drive and it is possible for you to create bootable recovery media (backup recovery) that you can use for the installation of original recovery image.
    > I'll reinstall my windows 8.1 which came preinstalled on my Toshiba laptop.
If I understand you right you try to use your laptop with the original recovery image again. Is this good?

I really don't know what's the problem here, but after the first start, connect your laptop to the Internet and complete the installation. Preinstalled Windows must be activated automatically.

  • Satellite C50 - secure boot not configured correctly build 9600

    Hello

Recently bought a refurbished nine Toshiba Satellite C50 8.1 of windows operating system. Was very happy with it but found the message 'not properly configured SecureBoot 9600 building "watermark in the lower right corner of my office. '.

Decided to search the Internet for a resolution and after being gone on 3 Troubleshooting sites, discovered on the necessary BIOS configuration, but he warned that it was for experienced users who know their stuff on the technical aspects of computers. While I am computer literate, I'm not someone who likes to mess with the advanced options. Then, I came across a reliable computer blog that had a detailed post on SecureBoot.

(Link to the blog post and specfic):
    www.techrepublic.com/blog/Windows-and-Office/deal-with-the-secureboot-isn't-configured-correctly-watermark-in-windows-81/)

I thought that that would solve my problem, and I have to admit that he helped, telling me to use windows powershell as a precaution before using the BIOS Setup. I was glad I did as it came in saying that I have a policy of SecureBoot of the present failure on my laptop which case I have to request technical support for a specific system solution that would generally be an update of the firmware.

I tried to call, but the line was busy and estimated it might be easier to post this question on a forum.

If anyone has an answer please help as I would like to really activate SecureBoot if possible, I believe that computers must be set up with the best possible security options and makes me feel comfortable in knowing that it is implemented safely.

Someone commented on the blog and posted this solution:

The fix for the registry to remove the watermark is as follows.
    1. start the registry with the Admin (C:\Windows\regedit) rights Editor
    2. navigate to the following location
    -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SOFTWARE-Microsoft-Windows-CurrentVersion------policies------system.
    3. here, the two values "ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin ' and 'EnableLUA 'the value' 0'.

You can also try to activate the boot option secure in the BIOS (in which case it is not already selected)
To enter the BIOS, press F2 during the turn on/off the device.

Also recommend that you check this page from Microsoft:
