Satellite C50-B-14F restarts when I try to stop

Hello

My Satellite C - 50 b - 14F restarts while I try to disable it.

When I click on power and shutdown the pc doesn t stop, but it restarts. And at the same time, the start button light ablaze again.

I called the technical service of Toshiba s yesterday. The technician told me to take the battery out of the computer, and then push 20 seconds the Start button. Then, connect the pc to the mains supply and press the F2 key to access the BIOS. Once you get, answer Yes to the F9 and F10 option. Then restart.

Maybe I did not understand. But I put t like the idea of unscrewing the battery while the pc isn't turned. And I don t know what are these options (F9 and F10 BIOS).
That's what I didn't follow his instructions yet.

So I would like to know:
(1) if I understand the instructions.
(2) if someone has already had the same problem and solved the problem without removing the battery.
(3) what are the F9 and F10 options?

Thank you in advance.

In my opinion, you understand workaround.
You can unplug the AC adapter and then you can remove the battery while the system is running. Of course, this isn't the best solution, but it is useful to turn off the laptop.

Then you should be able to access the BIOS F2 key immediately after the laptop has to be power upward.
By pressing the F9 key in BIOS, load the default settings and F10 saves the changes.

I think you could give a try...

Otherwise I also recommend shutting down the Win 8.1 system described in this paper to Toshiba:

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

  • Satellite C50-B-14F - RAM upgrade - how?

    Hello

I would like to add (+ 4 GB) memory RAM for my Satellite C50-B-14F.

But there is no instruction on this topic in the user s guide.
At the present time, there is a memory of 4 GB (software Speccy says that there is a 4.00 GB single channel DDR3 @ 797 MHz (11-11-11-28) RAM inside my pc), and I want to go up to 8.
I could learn how to choose it is good?

    Thank you in advance.

Because of the design of computers laptop specific upgrade user RAM is not supported, and this is the reason why you found nothing in the document of the user manuals.
Slots of RAM are placed under the hood, and if you want to have full access to the RAM modules, you must remove the lower cover.
Problem is that if you do it on your own this will void your warranty, it should be the dome by authorized service provider.

In my opinion, you should contact Toshiba service nearest and ask for help. I mean this is not so problematic, and I think that it cannot be so expensive.

Theoretical, you can do it alone, but you should think about valid warranty.

  • Satellite A200 screen remains black when you try to start

    Hi all

My Toshiba Satellite A200 laptop computer no longer works, then everything started when I was playing a game, all of a sudden the screen turned blue with a tiny text written on it. I had to hold the power button for a few seconds to close, because nothing not happening on the computer. Then, I pressed the power button to open it. Everything was fine, until the Welcome screen. In this part, he wrote 'Welcome' but Vista left loading circle of it was not turning.

After a few seconds, I decided to shut down the computer once again, so I hold the power button for the computer firm. Here's the problem: I tried to re-open it, but the screen remained black. Nothing was happening. The power light is blue, but not all computer activity. So I left it like that a few minutes then it closed and tried again, but it's the same thing. I tried to take it apart and noticed the card two memory was not entirely in its niche. I fixed it, but it does not solve the problem.

I also tried to plug another screen on it, but this one was also black. So I handed the screen on his computer and tried to boot my laptop and it worked. He was the starter, but the first problem came, the Welcome screen was frooze it. So yes I close it up and then it's the same thing, the screen remained black.

I don't think the problem is the screen, because as I said some time it goes to the Welcome screen. Also, I hear no welcome sound when the screen remains black as if the computer would simply not starts. And as I said earlier, I see no activity of the computer on the little light in front of the computer. And to the left of it, I see clearly that the computer is ON, because the power light is blue.

That is my problem, the next time that the computer is able to start I'll try to boot mode SAFE, but until then, I don't know what to do. Please, help me.

    Thanks in advance,
    MrRoy

    EDIT:
After the computer is turned off for about 30 minutes, I started and booted in safe mode. At this stage, I have locked my computer with the close button instead on the power button. Then I opened my computer and he started and the problem was solved. Now my laptop is open and working.

So, if this happens to you:
    1. turn off your computer.
    2. wait about 30 minutes.
    3. start in safe mode
    4. close using istead of now off button power button closure.

    It should work.

Finally, it does not work. I don't know why, but my computer did start after 30 minutes, but now it no longer works. Only, it will not start as I said later, with a black screen.

The computer worked for about half an hour. I mean, I managed to start but after running a program, it just froze and I had to hold the power button to restart. I made about 3 or 4 times, and then he was simply the black screen again. I think the problem is my processor, maybe that it is damaged or something, would it possible?

Because I see that the processor does not work when I try start it.

So let's say that this is the case, would it be the symptoms of my computer?
And if it's the processor, the only way to resolve this is to send it to a repairman or something, because I don't feel like it, I'd rather do it myself.

But now, my computer is simply not starting, as I said in my previous post.

    Thanks in advance,
    MrRoy

  • Re: Satellite L350 - screen goes black when I try to play

I have a laptop Toshiba L350 Sat. Its currently running on Windows Vista. Caused by a virus, I recently had to reinstall Windows. The laptop is now free from virus.

My problem is that when I try to play some games that I have the screen goes black and I have to do a forced restart using the power button. There are no other noise running in the background, and Ctrl alt del does not work either.

Normally, if you use the all Toshiba Recovery disk should work fine after that. These parameters are pre-tested by Toshiba.
