Satellite C50 - keyboard mouse not working not

The keyboard mouse touchpad has stopped working and I can't find a way through Control Panel to fix it. The external mouse through the wireless works fine, but I can't use the keyboard mouse at all.

Go to the Settings Manager to your Toshiba, by clicking on the Start button in the lower right corner, click the arrow on the down in the lower right and then look for a program called system listed among Toshiba services settings. Go to keyboard and see if you can change all the settings it will allow you to turn the keyboard on or off. If none is listed, then go to your BIOS manually and see if it allows you to toggle the keyboard. Your numlock and capslock has a light on them to indicate that they are on?

EDIT: I also found this when you browse the forum, it may help.

Press CTRL ALT SHIFT to get your process to come. Find the Touchpad "enhancer" process. Complete the process. Your touchpad works until the next reboot, how simply repeat this step.
If you're struggling complete the process without being able to use your touchpad, I discovered a curious thing. If you hold a mouse click, you can move the arrow of the mouse with the touchpad very well. Its a bit... awkward... but all you have to do that is to end this process and after that, you can use the trackpad normally.

    Hello

I am trying to install Windows 7 64 bit and my keyboard & mouse stopped working so I can't complete installation. I looked online for a fix and tried to then plug in USB 2 ports, and they still do not work. I found a PS/2 keyboard lying around as it was referred to as a hotfix, however, that the mobo is not any PS/2 ports that will not work. Can you please let me know if you have a work around this? Of course, the Windows 7 installation disc doesn't have the correct drivers for this motherboard?

I've contacted ASROCK support for my mobo and they have no idea?

  • Satellite A300 - keyboard does not work after cold start.

    Hi people,

I inherited an A300 of questions.

When you turn on the laptop, the keyboard works at the BIOS level, but once it boots into windows keyboard no longer works. I discovered that by pressing the power button (stop) and then turn the laptop back on brings back the keyboard. (It was in vista).

Since I did a new install of Windows 7 (removal of all partitions on the disk) and the fault remains, I also installed the added value Pack which did not help.

Firmware was 1.6 - updated to 1.9; fault remains. I restored the factory settings in the BIOS - fault remains level.

I installed a copy of Fedora 11 (Linux), that works perfectly.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for the comments.
To be honest, I use an external mouse only.

    Greetings

On this virtual path, it is not easy to give you a precise answer, especially if it happens sometimes and I think that you need professional help with this.

  • Satellite M30 - keyboard does not work

    Hello

I have a problem with the keyboard of my laptop:
Since I was able to type the password of the BIOS, it should be correct from a technical point of view.
But once having written the pass BIOS keyboard no longer works. It just doesn' react - it is even impossible to hit F2 to open the BIOS menu.
XP / system displays all hardware conflicts.
The laptop do not fall down or something like that.
I bought a USB keyboard, and it worked correctly from the start.

I tried every shortcut I know and a lot I didn't know until now, but it still does not work.

Is there a shortcut XP or Toshiba to disable the keyboard?
Or do you think this could be a hardware problem - but why it should be possible to write the password...?

    (1) your bios can recognize an external input device and causing the keyboard not working after giving you access.

    (2) remove all other usb devices you have connected (mouse, webcam or other) because they could be interpreted as an external keyboard

    (3) if there is no USB device connected and the problem persists... remove your keyboard drivers external usb while you plug it (remove drivers dethrone device) and before you restart your computer, make sure to remove the external keyboard.

    (3) you can have a software virus recorder or a keyboard that connects to the interruption of your keyboard.

If none of these permits, try to boot in an o/s different as the knoppix linux that runs directly from cd without need of installation. If your keyboard did not always works, then bring it to support, because the internal flat cable might came down in part.

    Good luck

  • Satellite C660 - keyboard does not work but the Num and caps lock shift are on

I have a Satellite C660 which was working fine this morning. When I came home from work and he turned, the keyboard does not work and therefore can not enter my login information.
The Num and caps lock shift are turned on.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

    Hello

You are able to disable the CapsLock and NumLock?
You can access the BIOS by pressing F2 by turning on the device?

If this does not work, I would recommend checking an external USB keyboard.
If the USB keyboard would be functions, then this means that the internal keyboard is defective and must be replaced.

  • Satellite C660 - keyboard does not work

    Hello world

I've recently updated the BIOS to version 1.60 on my PSC0LE C660-02300JEN (1 year) and the keyboard doesn't work well at all and sometimes stops working completely, making it unusable (I write on an external USB keyboard.).

There was a recurring problem, a few months before I updated the BIOS with the strike being delayed or does not respond, sometimes when you type, but for the most part, it still worked.

So I've updated the BIOS, as suggested, and I get the following problems:

The space bar is either not responding or when you press + 2 written or +++ again and again until I stop it by pressing the SPACEBAR again.

    None of the numbers works.

Sometimes the entire keyboard no longer works and none of the keys of a reaction.

    I tried solutions:

    Remove the battery.

cleaning the keyboard to get whatever it is dislodged out under the keys.

Reinstall the version 1.60 of the BIOS.

I'm not sure what to do next and really appreciate the advice and help before I try to get the keyboard replaced. It would be nice to get an opinion before I gain for a fix.

    Really welcome responses.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

I think that this problem of keyboard is not related to the BIOS update not to other software.
Is that you can use the external USB keyboard as you said above this means that the BIOS is ok and also the functions of controller keyboard correctly

This means that the problem is related to a malfunction internal keyboard. I have no explanation why this happened after the update, but it could be just a bad luck

In my view, the problem can be solved by the replacement of keyboard.

  • Satellite A60: keyboard does not work, the recovery DVDs cannot run

    Hello

I have a serious problem with my A60: the keyboard no longer works. I tried many solutions and the last of them, recovery with the Recovery DVD - ROM product does not work, because I can't use the keyboard!

When the screen with the 3 choices, I have no opportunity to respond.
    Someone has an idea?

Thanks a lot for your answer.

They keyboard might not be the problem, or it may not be connected properly to the motherboard the best thing to do is to take it to a service center, it should not cost you anything, if it is still under warranty... but if it's just the keyboard and your laptop is out of warranty then it should cost more than 100-200... can't say how much exactly, because I have no idea.

  • Satellite L500 - keyboard does not work

    Hello

I have Vista L500 with a dead keyboard. This machine has not been abandoned or anything it is spilled on it. I plugged USB keyboard external that works. The laptop keyboard does not work. I flashed the BIOS, update drivers, held shift for 10 sec (read on another forum), reset computer, check the updates of Windows Vista and ran 3 checks of Virus.
Everything is perfect, just no keyboard?

What should I check? What is a motherboard problem?

    Thanks for any help :)

    Hello

Can enter you the BIOS (F2 key) with internal keyboard?
If it isn't the internal keyboard seems to be defective and must be replaced

I don t think you can do more. I mean you've tried everything what is possible and if an external keyboard works the installation of the OS should be ok.

The keyboard can be ordered and replaced from an authorized service provider. Do you know how to contact the guys?

  • Satellite M100 keyboard does not work

I have a M100 and my keyboard used to work properly, but now it doesn't work at all.
I havn't had very long and I wonder if there is some kind of lock key on it or if it is just fuck?

    Hello

Unfortunately there is no key lock so it may be that your keyboard may be defective. Have you ever tried to connect an external keyboard to your machine to check if it works.

Since there is definitely without a lock, there is a great possibility that you must bring your machine to a service authotized partner to make them fix this error.

  • Satellite C660 keyboard does not

My keyboard has stopped working and after trying different things I've read in other forums I've went ahead and replaced it. New keyboard was working perfectly until now that all came back but slightly different...

Original keyboard wouldn't let me type any numbers and letters, v, b, n, f, g, h, r, t, y, were dead, as well as the entire line of F1 to F10. The new keyboard worked perfectly, but now the mouse pad does not work and I get extra letters when I type 'R', I get r5y78 instead... ""vm"rather than m and fh rather than h...

I don't know if it's a motherboard problem, but it's very strange that the usb keyboard and mouse work fine however new keyboard worked fine for about a week and now I use USB keyboard again...

    Any suggestions?

    Laptop model: Toshiba Satellite c660
    OS: Win 7

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

If the external USB keyboard works correctly, the keyboard controller should be OK. So I don't think his problem of motherbaord.
I guess the new keyboard is too bad and you will need to get another try and you need to replace the keyboard once more.

  • Keyboard / mouse not wake Desktop Dell (Inspiron)

Just bought an Inspiron 3043 20 new desktop computer.  Had lots of fun with the team of Dell Technical Support who have been unable to resolve a problem where the keyboard and mouse don't up properly the computer from sleep mode.  We need to get behind the computer and manually, click the power button to wake the system.

The tech support Dell transferred me twice at a higher level of technical support, but every time they transfer me to the bad support line that requires a paid subscription.  Crazy!

Anyone who runs Windows 10 who found the culprit behind this problem?  We have updated all of the latest drivers, BIOS, etc.  All power settings are correct for mouse and keyboard to wake the computer.  Nothing seems to work.

    Best,

    JAG

Thanks Ron for an intelligent answer!  Unfortunately, I ended up solving this problem for me last night before seeing your words of wisdom.  Seriously, Dell technical support wasted hours of my time, and despite the efforts of two different Dell tech support who logged onto my new PC specialists, they could not solve the problem.  Then they tried to transfer me to a support tech climbing team that eventually be paid a pension, so they me transferred again to another paid support team who just remember in the regular support of Dell.

Your last suggestion won the award but I really wonder why the author of this Bios would be by default the setting of the wake for disabled people?  My computer came with a USB keyboard and wireless mouse and the BIOS in native mode turns off the USB Wake feature?  That's all just stupid and begging just for customers having problems.

The native BIOS setting disabling USB wake is bad enough, but what makes the situation is even worse to Dell technical support that team never thought to have me check the BIOS settings even if one of the technicians was last updated to the latest version of the BIOS.  You would think that they would have this problem documented given the native BIOS setting and that this resolution would be above Dell CHARACTERS bold suggestions!

Seriously, I almost returned the computer on it. Absolutely ridiculous, if you ask me.  Hitting a Dell.  Anyone having the keyboard / mouse suite problems with their computer should check the BIOS settings and make sure that Wake USB is ENABLED.

  • Satellite S70A keyboard does not not because of the update of Windows 10

Made an update of windows 10 January 13 and my keyboard no longer works on my laptop S-70's. It took the shop this afternoon and the technicians say it's a driver problem.

In other words I need a keyboard driver that works with Windows 10.

Either way, I use a USB external keyboard for this type.

This machine is only 2 years old this month and I should we not have to hunt for the drivers to operate.

I did a restore of the system to January 9, but it has not solved the problem. I am confused on this one. What follows is the updates actually.

  • Satellite C50 - secure boot not configured correctly build 9600

    Hello

Recently bought a refurbished nine Toshiba Satellite C50 8.1 of windows operating system. Was very happy with it but found the message 'not properly configured SecureBoot 9600 building "watermark in the lower right corner of my office. '.

Decided to search the Internet for a resolution and after being gone on 3 Troubleshooting sites, discovered on the necessary BIOS configuration, but he warned that it was for experienced users who know their stuff on the technical aspects of computers. While I am computer literate, I'm not someone who likes to mess with the advanced options. Then, I came across a reliable computer blog that had a detailed post on SecureBoot.

(Link to the blog post and specfic):
    www.techrepublic.com/blog/Windows-and-Office/deal-with-the-secureboot-isn't-configured-correctly-watermark-in-windows-81/)

I thought that that would solve my problem, and I have to admit that he helped, telling me to use windows powershell as a precaution before using the BIOS Setup. I was glad I did as it came in saying that I have a policy of SecureBoot of the present failure on my laptop which case I have to request technical support for a specific system solution that would generally be an update of the firmware.

I tried to call, but the line was busy and estimated it might be easier to post this question on a forum.

If anyone has an answer please help as I would like to really activate SecureBoot if possible, I believe that computers must be set up with the best possible security options and makes me feel comfortable in knowing that it is implemented safely.

Someone commented on the blog and posted this solution:

The fix for the registry to remove the watermark is as follows.
    1. start the registry with the Admin (C:\Windows\regedit) rights Editor
    2. navigate to the following location
    -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SOFTWARE-Microsoft-Windows-CurrentVersion------policies------system.
    3. here, the two values "ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin ' and 'EnableLUA 'the value' 0'.

You can also try to activate the boot option secure in the BIOS (in which case it is not already selected)
To enter the BIOS, press F2 during the turn on/off the device.

Also recommend that you check this page from Microsoft:
