Satellite C50 - secure boot not configured correctly build 9600

Hello

Recently bought a refurbished nine Toshiba Satellite C50 8.1 of windows operating system. Was very happy with it but found the message 'not properly configured SecureBoot 9600 building "watermark in the lower right corner of my office. '.

Decided to search the Internet for a resolution and after being gone on 3 Troubleshooting sites, discovered on the necessary BIOS configuration, but he warned that it was for experienced users who know their stuff on the technical aspects of computers. While I am computer literate, I'm not someone who likes to mess with the advanced options. Then, I came across a reliable computer blog that had a detailed post on SecureBoot.

(Link to the blog post and specfic):
www.techrepublic.com/blog/Windows-and-Office/deal-with-the-secureboot-isn't-configured-correctly-watermark-in-windows-81/)

I thought that that would solve my problem, and I have to admit that he helped, telling me to use windows powershell as a precaution before using the BIOS Setup. I was glad I did as it came in saying that I have a policy of SecureBoot of the present failure on my laptop which case I have to request technical support for a specific system solution that would generally be an update of the firmware.

I tried to call, but the line was busy and estimated it might be easier to post this question on a forum.

If anyone has an answer please help as I would like to really activate SecureBoot if possible, I believe that computers must be set up with the best possible security options and makes me feel comfortable in knowing that it is implemented safely.

Someone commented on the blog and posted this solution:

The fix for the registry to remove the watermark is as follows.
1. start the registry with the Admin (C:\Windows\regedit) rights Editor
2. navigate to the following location
-> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SOFTWARE-Microsoft-Windows-CurrentVersion------policies------system.
3. here, the two values "ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin ' and 'EnableLUA 'the value' 0'.

You can also try to activate the boot option secure in the BIOS (in which case it is not already selected)
To enter the BIOS, press F2 during the turn on/off the device.

If you see a message "Secure startup is not configured properly" in the lower right corner of the office, this means that Secure Boot is off or has not been configured correctly on the PC.

Secure boot can be enabled or disabled in the BIOS.
You need to access the BIOS and should allow secure boot.
Save the changes and restart the device.

  • SecureBoot is not configured correctly (Windows Pro 8.1 with Media Center)

I have a HP Pavilion H8 - 1360t purchased July 2012 with Windows 7.  The system has installed UEFI and AMI BIOS v7.09.  I have upgraded to Windows 8, first preview, then the final version.  Yesterday, I upgraded to 8.1.  I now have a watermark bottom right indicating «SecureBoot is not configured correctly...» "and I get activity 2002 of the VerifyHardwareSecurity ' SecureBoot is currently disabled.  Please enable SecureBoot by the system firmware.  I have checked the BIOS and can't find an option to activate SecureBoot.

HP an article stated that a BIOS version of 8 support SecureBoot but there is no upgrade available for this relatively new machine BIOS.

Another article warns against upgrading an HP computer preinstalled with Windows 7 to Windows 8 with the following statement:

" UEFI technology allows a number of improvements in the PC security and performance and is being implemented in all PC pre-installed with Windows 8.". Some PC preinstalled with Windows 7contain UEFI technology and can be modified to provide these features. However the process requires skills and specialist to complete at this time, HP provides instructions to make this change. »

So the question for HP is: what will be a BIOS level or another solution provided for this modern computer to fully activate the SecureBoot?  I've seen a lot of posts on the forums Microsoft Community of other owners of H8 - 1360T so it's not unique to me.  As a player for Microsoft important material, it is hoped that HP would be sensitive to their customers.  As a customer of long date HP (belonging to two previous HP pavilions - the system is 3rd in the House), I sincerely hope that I have not made a mistake in my material of choice provider.

Please download and install the update to the BIOS of your system from the following link:

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp61501-62000/sp61511.exe

This will restore all the functions BIOS necessary for Windows 8/8.1. After updating the BIOS, go into the BIOS and enable the SecureBoot option. This will stop the message secureboot on Windows 8.1.

This also enables the BIOS UEFI environment.

I have a Dell Xps 420 with Vista 32 bit. Last night I let it update and standing on its own, when I turned it on this morning it said update 3 of 3 0%. When he arrived at 100%, it would go to the display of password for a brief second and say it would close down, he did this loop for a few hours, and then he changed to the updates were not configured correctly, returning changes and then restart. I tried to boot into safe mode and on the sofeware cd, but nothing works. Can someone give me a step by step process to solve this problem. Thank you

  • Try to use Windows Update to install 2 updates, get "updates are not configured correctly. Restoration of the changes

Try to use Windows Update to install 2 updates (Windows Internet Explorer 9 for Windows Vista) and an a security update Cumulative for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows Vista KB253048. It's on a laptop at home unique stand alone, works with Windows Vista Home Premium SP2.

Windows Update initially reported two updates correctly installed and asks me to restart the PC, what I'm doing. Before the connection at the reboot prompt, I get a message saying "updates are not configured correctly. Restoration of the changes. It is the next messages saying: step 1/2/3 of 3 0% complete.
After I then connect I get the message ' Windows to not install important updates.

Update history reveals the KB253048 cannot install (error 80070005), but IE9 installed successfully. However when click on the IE icon and run Internet Explorer version 8 of Internet Explorer, I get, not version 9.

I tried to do this several times on 2 days, but get same problem.

    This gives a shot.

I understand that you now have returned back to factory settings and have installed all updates except for service packs.

    .

You will need to install the required service packs-

You will need to install SP1 before installing Sp2.

Once your computer is up to date, then you can think of Windows 7

I can't help you with the trend, but from memory, you must allow it's Installer to download to facilitate the download and installation etc.

  • ID:2481 of the event, the UPS Service is not configured correctly.

I am running Win XP Pro, service Pact 3. I found this error in my event log.

I do not have a UPS, so I wonder why should I get this error at all. I checked my settings of UPS and no UPS is displayed, all my options are set to NEVER, why I get a fatal error, which I am. It does not shut down the computer, or even to tell me, but the newspaper it says that Windows is not allowing things to start because of the error.

    ?

Somehow, I don't think it's good to ignore error messages, but I guess you can.

The error means that the UPS Service is configured to start automatically with XP and if you have no set ups, the UPS Service will complain when it tries to start.

When XP tries to start the UPS Service, you will see an error like this:

    Services
Cannot start service on Local computer uninterruptible power
Error: 2481 the UPS Service is not configured correctly.

You will also see errors in the Event Viewer log system like this:

    Description:

    Event type: error
    Event source: Service Control Manager
    Event category: no
    Event ID: 7023
The uninterruptible power supply is completed with the following error:
The UPS service is not configured correctly.

If you do not use a UPS system, you should the ups the value Manual Service or just turn it off.

To do this, click Start, run and enter in the box:

    services.msc

Click OK to launch the Services applet and locate the mailing Service uninterruptible power.

Right-click on the Service, choose Properties, and set the startup type to manual or disabled.

Click OK to save the changes, close the Services applet and reboot the system to make sure there is no mistake and changes 'stick '.

Do, or do not. There is no test.
