  You just bought a Satellite C70D with Win 8.1. Everything works (as much as I know to knowledge), except start it from the DVD. I disabled the Secure Boot in the bios and changed the boot order on a DVD first, then USB and HARD drive. The DVD player starts, but then it jumps on the HARD disk and Windows is started. First time I tried there was a message like "DVD boot not supported" or something like that.
  The DVD is bootable, so it's not the problem.
  I want to install Linux Mint alongside Windows.

  It's very simple. You must first install the WinZip software. You can also use the WinRAR.
  The WinRAR does the same job as Winzip but in my view it of much better and easier.

  So as said install WinRAR, download driver Toshiba and unzip the folder of the driver!
  Then, you will get a new folder with the driver inside.

  Access the new created folder and complete the driver installation.

  Hey Buddy,

  Normally on every CD/DVD player there is a small button of relief that you can open the player with a small paper clip even the CD/DVD isn't working or the normal eject button. If you use the emergency eject button the drive opens and you can remove the CD or DVD.

  Also, check the user manual. I found this inside information. ;)

  The CD/DVD drive can be replaced easily
  The CD/DVD drive is fixed with the screw hidden under the memory module cover.

  You will need to first remove the memory slot cover the GET access to this screw.
  Remove the screw fixing the optical drive module, then use your hand to push the CD/DVD drive and then drag the STRANGE Bay.

  I had a problem with the crash of flashcards since I got my A100 is about 2 years. Today, I finally downloaded the update to the VAP and tried to install it. I received an error message telling me to remove the old VAP first.   The optical disk drive is placed on the left side and there should be an eject button.

  What you can watch DVDs with other software? I prefer VLC media player. This s freeware player and can play a large number of audio and video files.
