Satellite C650 14U: recovery media creates the recovery partition?

Hello, I used the recovery media creator to create a USB flash drive recovery media.

If I can use that to restore Windows 7 installation on a new hard drive (as the SSD) will be the drive itself have the recovery media on that partition?

So if I then lose the USB could restore again by pressing zero when turn?

Or it does not retrieve the Windows partition and nothing more?

Thank you

First of all, the new hard drive itself has no partition recovery on it. The recovery partition is a copy of the system partition and locates at another location, therefore, restored from a recovery media unit contains just the partition system without recovery partition.

Second, if you have a recovery on a local disk partition, you can always restore by pressing zero when power on/off. If this isn't the case, I am sorry to say that you don't you have no source of food.

In third place, somehow, we can say that it only retrieves the system partition.
PS: just my personal knowledge.

. After some research, I found that it was the way forward to create a separate partition, and so I did another partition.

I didn't know it would affect my Windows partition that I thought it was completely different.

So now, when I start it up, there is no option to start with Windows. But when I boot the Mac and select Startup disk, it displays Boot Camp is still there, and all my files etc. are still there.

I tried to create one separate partition (other than Bootcamp). After that its done and I started my computer, I found that the option to boot Windows (Bootcamp startup disk) has disappeared. But I still see boot camp Mac files. Any solution for this? Thank you.

(I tried to find this solution on the discussion Forum, and I found: repair Boot Camp after having created the new partition, however, I'm not able to follow these instructions. any help would be appreciated)

  • Satellite R630-13D: failed to create the recovery disk

I have a similar problem. I have a Satellite R630-13 t and tries to use the Toshiba recovery Media creator to create restoration 2 DVD discs.

When you try to create the first disc, I get the following message:

    Cannot read the next file.
    E:\Boot\fonts\chs_boot.ttf
    (Error code: 020150-20-00000000).

I get a similar message when you try to create the second. I tried four times. On my last attempt, I disabled the protection in real time on my virus checker (Windows Security Essentials) - I don't know how to close down completely, not sure you can. I also turned off wireless and bluetooth.

I need to create these discs please. I use anti-scratch Philips DVD + RW 4.7 GB 120 Min 1-4 x speed discs.

I know that someone else mentioned to try a different type of disc but I just bought these for this purpose and don't really want to buy more if I can help it. The disc type is certainly not a problem? When I look at the disc in the drive, they have files on them - even the file that the error message above says that he could not read.

    Thank you
    Ian

I had similar experiences in the past and I can say that, after several tests using different types of media, I was able to create recovery discs using DVD-R only media.

Hey two disks empty buddy aren't really expensive so don't waste your time here awaiting a solution and buy two or three empty DVD-R discs and create recovery media.
Another tip: do not buy some cheap stuf but high quality TDK or Verbatim discs.

  • Satellite P750 PSAY1A: how to create the recovery Toshiba on the new HARD drive partition

    Hello

I have an old Toshiba Satellite P750 (PSAY1A-01Y022). I just upgraded my memory from 4 GB to 8 GB and am preparing to take my 500 GB HARD drive 1 TB. I had to order the disk online and wait to happen.

I always try to understand how to create the arrival of my new HARD drive Toshiba Recovery Partition. I do the same thing for an old book, I handled based on something similar to it's original factory State.

I have reflected on the recovery partition, but does not know how it was created. It is not NTFS. Does anyone have experience in the creation of a Toshiba Recovery on a new HARD drive Partition?

And the help is very appreciated.

    Thanks and regards,
    Dinesh

Recovery partition can be created when you use the original Toshiba Recovery disk and install recovery image. Before the partitions to boot OS install will be automatically created, recovery image copied on a recovery and then partition as last step recovery image installation starts.

A sort of migration of files from one to the other HARD disk is not solution.

Only for laptop with factory will work and the usable recovery partition.

  • Satellite Pro A300: How to create the recovery disk

    Hello
I just bought a Satellite Pro A300 with Windows XP.
I want to know how I can or if I need to create a recovery disk that will reset the machine to its original state.
The information gives instuctions on how to proceed for the Vista machines, but not for XP.

I know that I can recover from the hidden partition, but where this is not possible, I wish I could get CD or DVD.
There is a recovery CD included product that says only: "MS Windows XP" so I guess that it does not include drivers or Toshiba Software?

    Any help appreciated,

    Hello

You have preinstalled software Toshiba TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator?

    Please check this box.
Using the TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator you can create the recovery disk.

But if your laptop was already pre-installed with Windows XP and then a Recovery CD or DVD must be included.

Have you checked all of the items in the box?

  • Satellite C650 - error reading disk and the recovery disk does not work

    Hello

I have a toshiba Satellite C650, who has recently developed with a disc read error. I want to access the command prompt to try some possible solutions I've read on the internet.

I made a Windows 7 recovery disk using my other acer laptop which has also installed Windows 7 64-bit. When I use the recovery disk and it loaded the files etc it evokes just a black screen and the cursor.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?
I tried to start my computer acer laptop from the recovery disk and it worked fine.

As is - this does anyone have suggestions as to why I get the message "disk read error - press ctrl, alt and delete to restart?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

On this virtual path, it is not easy to offer the exact diagnosis, but of course, there must be a problem with the HARD drive. Can you get a second one for test purposes and exchange it. Just to be sure if the HDD is troublemaker.

    But there is something else:
    > I made a Windows 7 recovery disk using my other computer acer laptop...
Sorry, but I don t understand this. Can you please explain what you did exactly?

  • Satellite A100-906: Express Media Player does not create the c partition

I recently bought the Satellite A100-906 model and I would like to make a partition to save the data, but the already existing partition with the reader of the Express does not allow part C: partitioning.

If I delete the partition Express I'll be able to install it after I divide the part C: or I have to choose between separation and the Media Player?

In my opinion it should work, but you must create the Express Media Player partition with the same size as the old.

  • Satellite P855 - need recovery partition properties

    Hello

as I intend to migrate the HDD to ssd I resized the windows disc 8 and then the toshiba recovery partition after windows system 8, but it seems that this movement has really changed the properties/id of the partition.

Could you please tell me the properties the ID VALUE of the toshiba recovery partition so I can change it again?
The size of the partition, the content and everything is untoched, but when I try to open the recovery tool, it says that it cannot find the recovery partition.

I know I shouldn't mess with partitioning, but I want to change the laptop on a faster drive.

    Thank you very much.

    Nicolas

    Hi Nicolas

Now it's too late for anything. Structure of the partitions is changed and you cannot get it back to the original state.
Change SSD HARD drive is not the problem, but your mistake is that you don't l l create USB recovery media or recovery disk.
After changing the HDD to SSD, you could use this media to reinstall the OS. In this case new recovery partition is created automatically.

What you need now is the recovery disc for a clean installation of image recovery.

  • Re: Satellite L300 - Keep recovery partition when you use DBAN

    Hello

I usually use DBAN to wipe my drives, however, I am interested in doing this on a laptop without destroying the recovery partition.

Essentially on a satellite L300 I want to erase the HDD using DBAN (Darik Boot and Nuke) (while maintaining the recovery partition), and then perform a clean installation of Windows 7. Is this possible or should I look at another alternative?

    Thank you

I don t use DBAN and may not give you the right answer, but one thing I must say: create a recovery DVD using the Toshiba recovery disc creator pre-installed and after doing this, you can do whatever you want.

If a problem occurs, you can install OS using these disks.
Please note: when you install using Win7 clean recovery of recorded disc image non-Toshiba makes no sense more because you will not be able to start the recovery of HARD drive more. For factory again, you must use Toshiba recovery DVD.

  • Satellite NB550D-109 - recovery partition

    You just bought a NB550D-109.
Pretty happy with it, but I have a few questions so.
Is there a reason the recovery partition labled data, is half the size of the drive?

This partition can be resized to give more storage without compromising the Recovery Wizard?

Are all the organic quality of Toshiba Utilities, or ones that I don't use can be uninstalled?
Or should I leave installed and just disable the startup?

    > Is there a reason that the recovery partition, labled data, is half the size of the drive?
To be honest I don't understand your question. Recovery partition is about 10 GB and recovery image is about 8 GB, so I put t understand what do you mean with half of the size of the disk.
    > This partition can be resized to give more storage without compromising the Recovery Wizard?
At the moment I have not be able to give you the right answer. Open the disk management option, make a screen shot and expect to see the structure of the partitions. Then, I'll be able to discuss all the partitions.
For the moment, I can say only one thing: do not change anything. Change the installation of recovery of the structure HARD drive partitions can be cancelled.
    > All the organic quality of Toshiba Utilities, or ones that I don't use can be uninstalled?
Some of them can be uninstalled but I put t know which of them you don t need.
Let us know which of them you want to remove the system.

One last thing: don't make too many experiences before you created the recovery USB drive.
Please read Toshiba s s user manual and look for info on the installation of recovery and the creation of recovery USB disks.
